Fantastic experience: Catherine has been a true blessing for us. She is guiding my 10 year old daughter with PT for her scoliosis using the Schroth method. We can already see results from only a couple of months. I would highly recommend her.

Negative experience: Not a good experience. Employees use break room to discuss patients. Not private. Can never hear the therapist over noise in common space when busy.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Catherine for help managing scoliosis as an adult (and I know she works with kids as well). She is great at tailoring the exercises to your specific needs and progressing you in a way that is helpful for achieving your goals and not overwhelming. This is a highly specialized kind of therapy that we are fortunate to have in Birmingham, as the closest place I was aware of before finding Catherine recently was in Atlanta. It is also an extensive process to get certified in this type of therapy. Thank you, Catherine, for investing in this patient population.

Fantastic experience: Catherine has been guiding my scoliosis therapy for a few months now and she is fantastic to work with. The breath and posture work has been amazing. She's taught me tools I can use on my own for lasting change. I highly recommend Catherine for scoliosis therapy.

Catherine, Pam, and the entire team treated me like family—Catherine even gave me her cell number on my first day! Now, eight months in, the Lakeview location feels like home. Andrew always came up with new and challenging ways to help me recover. The entire staff at this location was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Andrew!

Fantastic experience: The entire staff is patient and helpful. Everyone seems to understand the journey we are on in physical therapy. My PT was Andrew and he got me over an injury requiring surgery and 16 weeks of dedicated retraining. I'm 100% again with his help and the knowledge and patience of TherapySouth Lakeview.

Fantastic experience: While training for a half-marathon, I started to have runner's knee pain. I scheduled a visit with Andrew Darwin to help me with rehabilitation and he got me back on track in no time! His wealth of knowledge and treatments were extremely helpful to allow me to keep running. Would definitely recommend to anyone experiencing any kind of sports injuries or in need of rehabilitation. 10/10!

Fantastic experience: I have enjoyed working with Dr. Darwin. He has done dry needling on muscles around my shoulder and prescribed me with proper exercises to rehab a labrum tear. He has also helped me with hip and ankle mobility issues I have had. He is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with!

Fantastic experience: I have been a TherapySouth customer of Catherine McIntosh for almost 3 years and she is exceptional! I seriously injured my back, then my left leg and shortly thereafter I had to have my right leg amputated because of cancer. Catherine helped me fight through all my issues and learn to walk again with a prosthetic. It has been a long process, but she knows how to challenge me to continue to get better. I don’t think I would be where I am without her expertise. Catherine is now the Practice Manager of the TherapySouth Lakeview location. I have also had the opportunity to work with many of the other Lakeview TherapySouth therapists including Sara, Abbey, Sam, Jason…and staff. I highly recommend them all!

Fantastic experience: I’ve seen multiple therapists at this location over the years and they are all great. I’m currently seeing Sam and he is amazing. He is very knowledgeable and caring. I’m currently 6 weeks post-op and I feel great. I’m very confident that Sam will get me to feeling like myself again.

Fantastic experience: I go to TherapySouth Lakeview for dry needling. The staff is AMAZING! Catherine, Sara, Justin, and Sam truly care about their patients well-being, and they all take the time to get to know everyone on a personal level. Best clinic ever!

Fantastic experience: I don't think words will do justice to the amount of appreciation I have for this clinic. I've been working with Sam for a while, and I have basically gotten my life back, which was previously "stolen" by my injuries and some other issues related to a birth defect of mine. The most important thing is I've had a very serious anxiety about exercising, especially if I feel like I'm showing weakness (my birth defect caused me to be bullied in P.E. back in elementary and that experience kinda stuck with me in a very significant way). Despite my weakness I've been able to exercise here to build strength anxiety-free. Everyone in the office knows my name just from a few visits, and everyone takes a moment to gas me up and make me feel empowered as I work through very simple things I used to be able to do. Like I said, words can't do it justice. If you're looking for P.T. this is the place to get it done. Sam is my trainer (we have the same name, yes) but the assistant staff and every other trainer are just as great of people.

Fantastic experience: My time here at Therapy South has been nothing, but beneficial for me. I’ve been working here since the summer started and they have done nothing, but welcome me in with open arms. The staff as a whole is caring, informal, and want to see you successful just as much as them. Been loving it here and have no complaints!

Fantastic experience: I have had nothing but a positive experience at TherapySouth Lakeview thus far. I have only attended two appointments, but both times I felt extremely comfortable and welcome. I have never attended physical therapy before, so I did not know what to expect. But every staff member at this location has been friendly, considerate, and helpful in explaining everything to me. I have seen Sara at both of my appts and she is amazing. Within two sessions I have already seen massive improvements with my issue (TMJ problems). She also makes sure that her treatment plan accommodates my schedule and budget, since unfortunately my co-pays are not cheap. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone seeking a physical therapist!

Sara Samchok is an excellent therapist who listens, cares deeply about doing rehab the correct way and was always very encouraging, while pushing me just the right amount. The entire staff, from the front desk, to the therapists and the student therapists, are all fun, kind and professional. I can't recommend a better place to do you PT.

The physical therapist Sam, has Magic’s hands, Julianna, Ming and the rest of the staff, they’ve all done such an amazing job with helping my mom. My mom has left there feeling amazing after therapy. Fantastic experience: Am so thankful for the crew at this facility. Sam, my primary caregiver, holds a wealth of knowledge about what needs to happen to help heal. He assesses what is needed with amazing insight. I could go on and on about his gift but I also want to give a shout-out to the whole group. They seem to work seamlessly together and, while concentrating on their own patients, are aware of the big picture within their facility. Kudos to all!

Sara is phenomenal at what she does. She is an excellent teacher and an amazing listener. She also knows how to push you to dig deeper. She truly cares about your progress. Therapy isn’t always fun. However, I look forward to working with Sara and getting my body back. I also want to bring light to individuals like Julie (Sorry if I got your name wrong). Fantastic experience: Okay Rachel who is my person is all that and a million dollars. This center has been doing things in the short time I’ve been no one has been able to accomplish . There is a procedure called dry needling I knew nothing about that has my foot feeling somethings it hasn’t in years as well as my balance and body . She will work a knot link whatever you call it out the massages you get are phenomenal. I can only see me getting more better here I’m sore but that’s a good thing considering I had no recall for four years in certain areas Therapy south Rocks from the awesomeness of the receptionist to all the therapist there it’s like a holistic feel in that area Very clean and covid safe Thank therapy south and I will continue with updates

Fantastic experience: I look forward to my PT sessions at TherapySouth. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always positive. You can see they are passionate about their work. My PT, Rachel, is one of the best Physical Therapists I've encountered during my many years of needing a Physical Therapist for various health issues. Every PT session is a surprise, but still focuses on my goals. She makes it fun yet challenging. I leave there with a great sense of accomplishment.

Fantastic experience: I've done PT at multiple locations in LA, Birmingham, and Albuquerque over the past 4 years, and twice now this has been my favorite place to do it. Rachel did a great job of keeping sessions interesting by challenging me and making sure I wasn't just doing things I could do at home. A lot of the places I've been, the therapist went on autopilot after the first consultation, but not here.

Being diagnosed with MS, it is extremely important to have a team of people that are not only knowledgeable of the disease and how it affects the body, but to be compassionate as well. Fantastic experience: Several months ago, in fact the day after my birthday, I took a very bad fall landing on concrete, missing all 4 steps going down into an orchestra pit. Then hearing from my surgeon that it was, in fact, a "severe fracture" that included a dislodgement. Still I was so very thankful, since bad as it was, it could have been so much worst and life changing, but the news was terrifying none-the-less. My surgeon was so concerned, he even felt that consulting with his partners was necessary before making a decision about surgery. Now, the phone call from your doctor you want to get, but fear at the same time. For me, it was wonderful to hear that healing, (with therapy) was my best first option. Maybe surgery after the first of the year, but first I needed the best therapy for the best chance to avoid it and to regain 90+ % use of my arm. It took some researching and speaking with others, which is why I am writing this review, for me to find my way to Therapy South, Lakeview. There were two places with reputations for being the best as it related to therapy. Health South and Lakeshore, that’s all I ever knew about where to find the best. Most important to me now were the two major worries in my future, surgery and if not surgery, therapy. Happy about the therapy approach, would I be able to find a therapist that would have my best interest at heart, knowing the severity of my injury. Well, the answer is going to save you time, and worry. For me, I believe, I have found the best. I would put Therapy South, Lakeview up on the top shelf with any renowned facilities. From Pam, at the front desk, to Leslie Shamp my therapist, I have been put at ease, treated like I mattered, my injury and progress is of the utmost importance. No cutting any corners either, I have been given the best care, clear instructions, working exercises with concern for my pain level, even my appointments are carefully scheduled to make sure I am getting the best consistencies to yield the best progress. Leslie never takes her eyes off my workout treatments. It is her personality to move throughout the room working patients, motivating them, while caring about keeping me (the patient) optimistic. The location is easy to reach, but for me it is how effective the therapy is once you arrive. There's no looking at you as if you have horns in the middle of your face, every single person in this practice is well trained, friendly, warm and welcoming. You can see others working with patients, and it is impressive. I wish no harm for anyone, but if you are ever in need of the talent and expertise of a 5 star facility and therapist, I can highly recommend, Therapy South, Lakeview, under the care of Leslie Shamp.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic staff!!!! I went in with a pretty banged up labrum in my hip from rugby. Emily Gilmore got me from barely being able to walk to back on the field this weekend and it's only been 2 months. All of the staff here are top of the line with bed side manner and knowledge. I would recommend them to anybody, ESPECIALLY THE DRY NEEDLING!!!

Fantastic experience: I've undergone multiple PT programs with Leslea Shamp, assisted as well by Emily Gilmore and Laura Richardson, starting with a total shoulder joint replacement in 2011, followed up in later years with lumbar spine surgeries and a replacement of my initial shoulder joint in 2017. Every experience has been pleasant and productive. They know their stuff and are flexible in scheduling. Don't hesitate to give them a call.

Fantastic experience: Phil Moore is The Guy to see in Birmingham if you need PT and are a runner. He’s a former SEC middle distance athlete, so he understands both the physical issues (the root causes of the injury or pain) and the mental ones (runners want to fix the injury but not stop training) A++

Fantastic experience: Great place, better people. I went in with neck problems and headaches related to the the neck issues. After several weeks working with Justin and him showing me some really effective stretches and exercises my neck pain is almost nil and the headaches have disappeared...highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I am a runner, and Phillip Moore has kept me on the roads. I have one leg longer than the other which has caused many running related issues. Since Phil has been treating me, we are able to keep these issues at a minimum, and I have been able to keep running. I’ve also been able to complete several races from 5k’s to a full marathon!!
