Cleveland Clinic Mellen Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: The staff is really polite , always ready to help and very good bed side manners
Fantastic experience: This place is top shelf, full of an incredible array of doctors and staff.
Fantastic experience: I love the doctors and Nurses here they are Dedicated to doing the job and they have kept me alive for 4 years. I would tell anyone who has cancer to please go to Cleveland clinic. I'm telling you these are some great doctors and they put a great team of doctors together to help him.
Fantastic experience: They are the best at what they do. They are compassionate kind ❤
Fantastic experience: Dr. Mary Rensel, who I have seen since I was under 10 years old … saved my life. On more than one occasion
Fantastic experience: I love this place!! The Cleveland Clinic Mellen Center basically treats multiple sclerosis and other similar neurological disorders. My nurse, Jennifer Sedlak, is fantastic!!! She is absolutely wonderful!!! Jennifer is so patient and she always listens to my concerns. Jennifer always tries to find a solution to whatever difficulties I may be experiencing. Dr. Jeffrey Cohen is also very good. He has great bedside manner and also listens and is very patient. It’s amazing how he puts across even the most difficult and hard to explain topics in a simple, easy to understand way. He lays everything out for me. Even though I have a difficult medical case, they both make it seem like I am their only patient, and they have all the time in the world to answer questions and explain everything. Whenever I leave my appointment, I always feel that they have addressed all my questions and concerns. I would highly recommend this medical center and this team. They are the best!!!❤️
Fantastic experience: Easy access to building and parking. Clean and safe. Excellent 2nd to none care of MS.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to Mellen Center going on my 6th yr after being diagnosed with my autoimmune disease. That don’t just service people with MS even though they are well known for mainly that disease. I on the other hand have NMO, it effects the eyes or spine too, but it’s more aggressive and you have more attacks if you get them that paralyzes you and makes you weaker. I’m now losing my strength in right leg and use a cane. Have ya my main attack in 2013, 2 major ones since and one minor. I have major problems that have occurred since being diagnosed, but that will happen. And back in 2013 when I was brought to Cleveland clinic before having to come to mellen center because they didn’t know what I had yet. I was thoroughly taken care of and lots of tests ran while being paralyzed which you are thinking the worse. And after a few weeks I go to my appt and found out I had NMO. My dr I was given was Dr. Bermel and his CNP Claire Hara-Cleaver. I couldn’t of asked for a better team. Granted Dr. Bermel is busy and I don’t see him as much, but I have things covered with Ms. Claire. She understanding and talks you through things and cares. Cares sloth that 2 yrs ago I had an attack and after my local hospital had me there 6 days then sent me home paralyzed from chest dwn no able to urinate and not giving me a catheter in. My bladder was at 1700cc. I almost burst my bladder. She told me to get up to Cleveland ASAP b/c you’re always in denial that you’ll get better. But she had my husband bring me having to rent a van b/c car couldn’t take and making me stay in hospital that day. Set up a room told them what’s takin place and set me up to do plasma exchange b/c if I would of waited I wouldn’t of walked again. Now I’m still walking but like I said with cane. They see many patients and have lots of things going on, but she personally helped me b/c she knew what was happening. And visited in hospital to see how I was. This place is the best and I am so glad that I was sent here from my local hospital back in 2013 just b/c they thought I had a tumor on my spine. And the experts here in Cleveland took another mri and it was a big lesion. Some people might have negative results from their care team, but I could never complain. Plus many say how expensive. I have husbands ins then I’m disabled and also second is medicare(which I pay for so not free). After husbands is used than the little Medicare covers I’m left with little to pay and I do $36,000 infusions every 6 months. But they have equipment they need lots of, staff, more qualified drs to get to the root of things. Best place I’ve been to in my 45 yrs of living, and always have smiles.
Positive experience: Well, it's hard to write a review on the place that tells you that your Dad has terminal brain cancer. But I must say that I was impressed with the bedside manner of just about every person that cared for him while he was there.
Fantastic experience: I was originally diagnosed and treated for MS at the main campus neurology department by Dr. Richard Lederman. He was a fantastic Dr. and I have nothing but praise and respect for him. He retired and I was referred to the Mellen Center. I see Dr. Boissy and Malissa Ayers, PA-C. I had a routine appointment today and am very impressed with the Mellen Center! I get labs, mri, testing done all in one visit in the same facility. I am very happy I decided on The Mellen Center. I drive nearly 3.5 hours to get there and it is well worth the trip. EXCELLENCE.
Fantastic experience: Good people great service
Fantastic experience: World class care for Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological diseases.
Positive experience: The neurology department is fantastic. Psychology and psychiatry leave a lot to be desired. It's been years since I started going there, literally begging for anti anxiety treatment, and still nothing helpful despite there being medication designed for the purpose which works really well for me (which I only found out because Metro Hospital gave me a single dose on several occasions to control my tremors in the MRI machine.) It's really no wonder that the suicide rate is so high.
Fantastic experience: Hands down, the best care I've ever received. I am an MS patient and they utilize a team approach all in one place. Neurology, physical, occupational and speech therapy, imaging, lab, psychology, spasticity management. You name it, it's here under one roof. And the doctors are the best in their field. They also have a large clinical trials program. I come here from Detroit and it is 100% worth the travel.
Fantastic experience: Working on stabilizing my Mom's Alzheimer's!
Fantastic experience: Everyone here is amazing ‼️ Everyone here cares about me ‼️ My doctor is Alexander Duart Rae-Grant, MD & Hilary Young, PA-C. Thanks
Fantastic experience: Good place
Positive experience: Showed up for an appointment and the doctor was not able to see my wife. We were told we could only see a nurse assistance $50 copay said no thanks had to reschedule and get a refund. Very disappointed. When you make an appointment with a trusted doctor you should see that doctor.
