Fantastic experience: Excellent. CNAs are wonderful. The Physical therapy is the absolute best. A room filled with exercise machines. Therapy sessions 2 x a day. Clean and beautiful facility. Large private rooms with private handicapped bath. Beauty shop. Fun activities scheduled. Singing groups, Bingo, Church services and more. Food ordered daily and pretty good. Admitted and stayed 6 weeks.

Fantastic experience: Very loving and caring staff couldn't be better to my Mom while she was in rehab. I also liked the location of the facility as it was much quicker to get to than other facilities and in a peaceful country like setting.

Positive experience: Have only been here for 2 days but that is long enough to state that the staff is overall good and i have had no reason to be afraid. That says alot for a facility such as this.

Positive experience: Mom got decent care here although early on there were some bad attitudes and thieves. I'm pretty sure they got that under control but they need surveillance cameras in every room for protection.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been employed at Ashton for 2 1/2 years and it feels like home. Covid took a toll on our facility... our family during this past year. We’ve welcomed new additions and said goodbye to those leaving. Both can be a good thing for a facility. I know perfection will never hang above our door nor at any facility’s door. There’s just too many demands, changes and different degrees of care to be given. It doesn’t stop us from attempting to achieve perfection. But I do believe that with this work family (lord I appreciate them all) we can give most any patient the care they need and the attention they deserve. I also believe that with the 3 major additions to our staff/family... Ellen administrator Kayla DON and Chrissy ADON we as a team couldn’t be lead by any better. I hope all the families show support, understanding and kindness towards them as they are still settling in good. So to all the staff at Ashton thank you for all you do for eachother and our residents, to all the families we can’t wait for the rules to say open those doors! And to Ellen, Kayla and Chrissy thank you for joining our team and becoming part of our family! ❤️ God bless our building, our staff, our residents and the families. Teamwork is making our dream work!!

Fantastic experience: I had to put my mom in a 24 hour facility about 4 years ago because her health was declining and she could no longer live independently. I wrestled with the fact that it was the right thing to do. It is comforting to have the staff of Ashton Health to assist me with her care. I love the care she receives and her interaction she has with all of the staff. My mom is no longer mobile but I have some wonderful nurses like Buffy and Becky to help me day and night to make sure she has a quality life and she gets the care she needs. Front desk staff also pitches in to help as well like Wendy and Harmony. Thank you Ashton Health Staff!

Positive experience: Physical and Occupational Therapy - Some of the therapists (and doctors) were awesome and tried to position you towards independence. Certified Nursing Assistants - The quality ranged from good to bad and you never knew what you were going to get especially if you've never worked with them before. There were a few that went over and beyond. There were also some that did the bare minimum or not even that. Most of the nurses I had were good. Overall Administration - This was okay. The feedback I got all the time was that administration had changed apparently over the last year or so and the consensus was that things used to be a lot better. I think the ownership changed. Food - I am convinced that the food served in prison is better than the quality of food served there - nothing short of horrible. Summary: The stay there was filled with peaks and valleys. Overall, the care received there was okay even though issues did arise. While some hiccups along the road were expected, some were absolutely not.

Fantastic experience: My Grandmother has been here for a little over a year now and I couldn’t be more happier with the care she is getting each and everyday! From her nurse to her CNA’S they just love her and I see how well they treat her and she loves them as well. I Can go home at night and rest knowing my Grandmother is being taken care of properly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has a loved one needing care and a place to stay!

Fantastic experience: I spent several months in Ashton Place recovering from a stroke and heart failure. I'm 41 years old and I had no idea what to expect from living in a nursing home. The facility is very clean and the atmosphere is good. It's active enough to stay stimulated but not so much that it's overwhelming. The facility is REALLY clean and the food is good too. Playing bingo was definitely my favorite thing to do. People get crazy in bingo! Ha! It was a little scary. I healed in ways that were unexpected. Therapy was EXCELLENT and the PT and OT teams were able to help me go from completely immobile (totally bedridden) to being able to sit upright and function with every day tasks. The staff was remarkably patient with me if I lashed out because of pain or fear. Watching the way that some of the staff handled distressed patients taught me how to react when people are explosive. No one wants to be a paralyzed 41 yo! My entire life is different now and I'm so grateful for ALL of the emotional and physical healing that took place because of the Ashton Place team. So grateful.

Positive experience: They have new Management and mostly New Staff - since 4th quarter 2018. They are getting better, only been here since Feb 2019. Facility is Clean and does not smell (mostly). People are pleasant and do not avoid you when you have a problem. Birch Village has some exceptional Staff - CNA April Hall, Nurses Jody, Tim and Jennifer. The Director of Nursing (DON) Terri House, just moved up from ADON and is great, I hope her replacement is as compassionate. Many issues with Physical Therapy - guys forceful and sometimes rude to my dementia mother.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful facility and caring staff. My mom has stayed there twice and both experiences were good. It is one of the top five in the area!! No facility is left, but this one strives to do its best. It has a high rating with the state. The medical and therapeutic staff are thorough. The collaboration with patient, family and treatment providers is phenomenal.

Fantastic experience: Where can I begin?.......the experience was so important to me and my family, its hard to know if the beginning is best or the end. My grandmother was at Ashton Health and Rehab for long term care. She was diagnosed with Dementia, and had spent a total of 16 years in assisted/skilled care prior to her passing one month shy of 99. Nanny was at Ashton for several years, with staff caring for her, talking with her, watching TV with her. They knew she liked baby lotion and powder after her bath. They knew she loved chocolate and would hide some in her bra......... They knew she loved to watch Wheel of Fortune.....and she could answer any question on Jeopardy with the best of them......they knew her favorite food was fried chicken. Ashton cared for her gently and kindly with such a genuine love and caring for her well being. This facility is outstanding......in the beginning and thru out her stay, Nanny had rehab services when needed, restorative intervention and eventually Hospice services. She believed she was in elementary school in Hendersonville NC for most of her time at Ashton.....waiting each day for lunchtime, or activity time, with staff reassuring her that she was right where she was supposed to be. It is hard to see a loved one regress to the past, but I must say, the nurses and cna's, dietary and housekeeping staff all participated in her daily fantasy and engaged her constantly with encouragement, laughter and friendship. There were many sunny August days, she believed it was going to snow.....and staff encouraged her girlish excitement about the weather. It takes special people to do the job of caring for our parents and grandparents. It is a job of Courage, Bravery, Compassion, Dedication and most of all a job of the Heart. I know this because I saw her most every day of her stay......but I can honestly say she really never missed me.....she really felt she was home and surrounded by people that loved her. Seems strange to feel happy that she did not miss me....but for those that deal with Dementia and aging of loved ones, knowing when you go home that the one you leave in a facility is cozy, and safe, and peaceful.....is priceless. Nanny never rang a call bell, yet a call to staff any time of the day would give me up to the minute updates on her day.......I believe they felt she was their Nanny too........I am sure she felt security and love each day she was there...................... If you are looking for a place to care for someone you love, or even for short term rehabilitation after a hospital stay, please stop by Ashton Health. Look at faces of staff, residents and speak with visitors. It is a place that I spent the most precious time in my life with woman I most admired and loved. Nanny would be proud of me for surrounding her with Ashton.....it was a beautiful last chapter. Thank and Bless everyone at Ashton.
