Abide Physical Therapy: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Dr. Michelle, is very kind and I really enjoy being around her. She is just a really caring person . I was going for treatment on my sciatic pain.
Fantastic experience: I had experienced crippling back pain on and off over the years until I worked with Dr. Michelle. She was able to quickly diagnose my pain driver and implement a plan to get me consistently back to 100% within a few visits.
Fantastic experience: Did my recovery with Dr. Michelle and she was amazing!! She always made sure to educate me about my condition and how to be proactive toward recovery. Very knowledgable and very kind!!
Fantastic experience: Dr Michelle is freaking fantastic! I've got multiple issues and she is absolutely genius at intuiting the root of each as well as the best way to treat them, and she's not afraid to pivot when a better treatment option presents itself. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Dr Michelle has been fantastic! She diagnosed a tight scapula muscle that affected my whole right side, including my shoulder. She's been able to free it up through massage and manipulation and gave me simple home exercises to keep it limber.
Fantastic experience: Great attention and holistic approach to physical well-being for the long term.
Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Michelle for some repetitive strain due to Jiu Jitsu and physical activity. Not only does Michelle help reduce pain, but she teaches me preventative tools to make sure the pain stays away. She's incredibly knowledgeable and very patient.
Fantastic experience: I have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and chronic pain, and have tried out a few specialized physical therapists, looking for the right fit for me. Even after working with other providers, I was still experiencing pain. In addition, I couldn't find anyone who was trauma-informed as a physical therapist. But that all changed when I met Dr. Michelle! After hearing about Dr. Michelle from another person with EDS, I started seeing with her. Working with Dr. Michelle has been amazing. Not only is she trauma-informed, but thanks to her expertise I've been pain free for the first time in years. Dr. Michelle is empathetic, super knowledgable and doesn't give up on me. If you are in pain or have EDS/POTS/MCAS like me, I highly recommend Dr. Michelle!!
Fantastic experience: After dealing with a persistent ankle injury for six years and experiencing recurring issues, I finally found relief when I started working with Michelle at Abide Physical Therapy. Since then, I haven’t had any ankle sprains, and it’s been a tremendous relief! Michelle is truly exceptional and goes above and beyond to facilitate your recovery. I highly recommend seeking treatment from her. Michelle is incredible!
Fantastic experience: Dr Michelle Perry is phenomenal! Her work is different than any PT I have ever seen. After months of increasing shoulder pain and a torn rotator cuff I saw Dr Michelle as a last ditch effort before considering surgery. After one visit my pain was significantly improved. After 3-4 visits I felt 80-90% better. She really takes the time to listen to her clients. She doesn't just give you a list of exercises and send you on your way. I cannot recommend her enough!
Fantastic experience: After a few months of dealing with pelvic floor issues, I watched a few of Dr Michelle’s Instagram stories and decided to go to her in person. She really listened and talked through all elements of my issues and gave me a few small exercises to start with the first meeting. After a few weeks, I was already seeing a difference, which has allowed me to progress slowly but really see and learn my body and what it needs. I’d highly recommend her to anyone having pelvic floor issues as a solution beyond surgery or doctors.
Fantastic experience: Just two sessions and I’ve made vast improvement in my deficiencies! Michelle is great at explaining what she’s seeing and address the issues. Over the years of weightlifting, tightness and compensations have compacted from some injuries that were not resolving by stretching and long warm-ups alone. The dry-needling and cupping she’s done is specific to your needs and best of all she’ll give you the tools to do at home continue the fixing of your body mechanics!
Fantastic experience: I’ve had undiagnosed chest/abdominal pain for a couple years now. It’s been investigated by numerous doctors and specialists, ruling out everything major, but it has persisted. Within one session with Michelle she discovered I had two immobilized vertebrae (and this two immobilized ribs). We began treatment and it’s the only thing that’s had any effect on it since it began. Plus, she’s helped keep me healthy through several jiujitsu injuries. I can’t recommend her enough!
Fantastic experience: Dr Michelle was a motivating and mobilizing soul in our home! She crafted a workout using all of our own materials, a routine that was both challenging and attainable. She understood which exercises could be modified for my current fitness level.
Fantastic experience: I have gone to Dr. Michelle for a couple injuries, but most recently an ankle injury. I had sprained my ankle pretty bad and had gone without treatment for several months hoping it would resolve on its own. Eventually I went to Dr. Michelle for an evaluation and treatment, and I wish I had gone sooner! She evaluated the issue and performed treatment on my ankle, while assessing any progress throughout the session. I left with less pain, more range of motion and practical's to continue to help my healing. She's very flexible with her scheduling and the ability to pay with my HSA is the best! Dr. Michelle is my go to!
Fantastic experience: Michelle was fantastic! I was having significant ankle and Achilles pain that was limiting my movement. Michelle assessed the source of the issue and helped fixed the root cause. The pain was gone after a few days once my ankle and calves were properly treated.
Fantastic experience: Came to Dr. Michelle after struggling with pain while squatting in just one leg. After explaining and showing her where/when it hurts, she was able to quickly diagnose the root of the problem. I loved that the session took place in the gym so that I could demonstrate the issue and we could test progress as she worked on me. Even in just the first session I noticed a huge improvement. Dr. Michelle is an athlete herself which is extremely helpful because she understands the movements and has great tools to get you moving correctly again. I appreciated that she gave me exercises to work on at home between sessions. She took video me doing the exercise on my phone so I could go back and reference it. Flexible with her hours and takes HSA. Would recommend Dr. Michelle to anyone.
Fantastic experience: Michelle is incredibly thorough and caring. She is tactful in her approach to making you feel whole. She does more than just manage symptoms, she addresses the root problems. I cannot overstate the value I find in her services and what she has done to keep me feeling healthy.
Fantastic experience: Michelle is an amazing physical therapist! Aside from being extremely knowledgeable she is also very caring. She goes above and beyond her work duties to make sure her patients are receiving the best care possible. She takes her time in evaluating the ailment and finding very helpful exercises and routines. I highly recommend Michelle!
Fantastic experience: Michelle has been an incredible source of relief for me, addressing multiple physical issues that I’ve encountered due to my active lifestyle. From IT band problems to persistent shoulder and neck pain, as well as issues with my calves and back, Michelle has consistently provided effective treatments. I had been suffering from shoulder pain for years, resigned to the idea that it was a long-term issue, but Michelle's diagnosis and treatment turned things around quickly. The fact that she offers mobile appointments is a game-changer, making it much easier to schedule sessions during busy workdays. A big thank you to Michelle for her outstanding work!
Fantastic experience: Before coming to Abide Physical Therapy, I was experiencing a mixture lower back and butt pain daily for a little over a year. My ability to bend over, conduct house chores, exercise and lift weights was a major struggle and my issues had no improvements after going to multi PT offices. It was costly and had very generalized approaches and I was getting lost in the process. My attraction to Dr. Michelle was her female perspective, background in lifting and working with CrossFit athletes. She understood my goals and desire to heal my body without unnecessary medical procedures. With Dr.Michelle’s help, she was able to identify some key issues and provide assistance in getting me back to regular movement and lifting again. It has been a slow steady process but very beneficial as I have learned more about my body and experienced lots of relief. My favorite part of the experience is dry needling, learning how to activate certain muscles and having a tailored approach to my issues and concerns. I am really grateful and lucky to have found Abide Physical Therapy .
Fantastic experience: I’ve struggled with shoulder/neck pain for years, to the point where I stopped doing things I loved such as CrossFit and hiking. After a few sessions with Dr.Michelle I was able to wear a backpack while hiking with no pain and no linger issues. I am now gradually getting back into intense workouts and feel confident that I can move freely without pain arising. Your health is an invest, go see Dr. Michelle for results that last!
Fantastic experience: I have had joint pain (starting on and off before switching to just on) over the past two decades. I have been to multiple doctors and physical therapists to address these issues with very limited success. I’ve done exercises, medications, and several procedures, but the pain remains. When another doctor recommended pt again, I was hesitant but knew I had to at least try because it sure wasn’t resolving itself. Dr. Michelle has used a wide variety of therapies to help treat my pain (manual, craniosacral, cupping, home exercises, etc). She was able to pinpoint the causes to various painful areas and how to address them. We check in on these areas, and any new ones, each visit. She works one-on-one with me the entire time I’m with her. She doesn’t hand me off to a tech with assigned exercises that I’m hopefully doing correctly. I know this works for some people, but I’m not one of them! She doesn’t encourage me to “work past the pain” (although physical therapy is rarely completely comfortable). If something is painful, we talk about it and go from there. Sometimes it means modifying what we’re doing, her working with the area more, or trying something new. Most importantly, I’m seeing results. I’m doing the work, and with Dr. Michelle’s help, my stubborn body is improving. Also, I’ve had fun doing it. Dr. Michelle doesn’t make physical therapy a dreaded activity that I have to do. She knows what she’s doing but isn’t intimidating or condescending. Having a medical team member who listens is huge. She’s incredibly personable, and seeing her feels like spending time with a kind, smart, and talented friend who wants you to feel better!
Fantastic experience: Thank you, Abide Physical Therapy! I dislocated my toe and was in excruciating pain. Immediately the first person I reached out to was Dr Michelle because of the convenience of doing house calls and is simply someone I trust that is skilled in her field. I’m fully healed now because of Dr Michelle’s treatment. I highly recommend her for the attentiveness, professionalism, knowledge and my favorite part being able to see me in the comfort of my own home. Take my word for it and look no further than Abide Physical Therapy
Fantastic experience: I had been having trouble with my knee for over 6 months, just waiting for it to get better. I eventually was tired of not being able to do the activities that I enjoy. I friend recommended Abide to me and I am so happy I went. It was worth every dollar. If you are sitting in pain, don’t wait. Go to Dr.Michelle. She won’t need months and months to get you better. She gets so much done in one session and I experienced results in just a few sessions. I now know the issue and am able to continue building strength in the muscle groups needed to keep my pain away. She is also incredibly friendly and kind!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Michelle was wise ,wonderful ,& kind . She was very helpful with some exercises that I can do at home to expedite my recovery. Michelle was quick to respond when I inquired about treatment and the location & the availablity are perfect for my schedule.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Michelle at Abide Physical Therapy is the best. I went in for my arm/shoulder that was having some pain and limited mobility. She thoroughly evaluated my arm with multiple tests and then determined a plan of action. She had me practice a couple moves I was to take home and do on my own and she also did cupping and dry needling. It all has greatly reduced my pain and I'm so happy I decided to go to Abide PT. I would highly recommend her.
Fantastic experience: I have been going to Michelle for years now. She has treated my neck, shoulder, and hip issues. 1) I have cervical facet issues, probably because I've had whiplash 3 times in the past, and every once in a while my neck gets painfully stuck. Michelle will do a manipulation to get it unstuck, then tune up my home exercise regimen both for treatment and prevention. This is way better than my experience with chiropractics, because they don't tell you any way to fix it on your own or prevent it. When my neck problems first started years ago, I had to go a few times in a row so she could teach me all the exercises and make sure I was making progress. Now I just see her for what I call a "tune up" probably about 1-3 times a year whenever I start slacking on my posture or I do something funky that causes my neck to act up again 2) Shoulder: I had frozen shoulder from a mountain biking injury. That arm was almost useless when I first saw her 2 months after the injury. Michelle helped me to regain function in that arm, then when it became clear I wasn't making any further progress (I had limitation of range), I saw an ortho, had a manipulation of the shoulder under anesthesia, and she then helped me to make a full recovery. Very happy with that result 3) I've had lifelong weird hip pain/tightness/clicking issues. The more I stretched or exercised it the worse it would get. I happened to mention it as a side note one day to Michelle, and she gave me other exercises/stretches to do that really helped. Kind of miraculously, really, considering I was already doing all sorts of yoga and am pretty active in general. Bottom line: Michelle is an excellent physical therapist. I have followed her when she changed employers, and in my opinion she's worth the cost of concierge service.
Fantastic experience: I had some severe hip pain last year and I was referred to Michelle from my close friend who had used Abide Physical Therapy and I am so happy I found Michelle. When I reached out she fit me into her schedule promptly and was very professional and knowledgeable, as well as super caring! I am grateful for her help!
Fantastic experience: Michelle is a great physical therapist and recommend anyone whose going through a personal injury. I had a lingering right ankle injury that started affecting my dancing. I went to her for 3 months to understand, treat, and prevent my ankle issues. I learned so much about my ankle and how other parts of my body were affecting it. I recommend anyone who is seeking professional advice to visit her. You will not regret it.
Fantastic experience: Michelle at Abide took the time to understand my goals and evaluate my shoulder pain. After a few treatments and some targeted exercise I'm back to full workouts with full mobility.
Fantastic experience: I was dealing with Horrible shoulder pain for years, specifically peaking when I worked out. (Which I do nearly everyday) After seeing many doctors and being told the only real option was to see an orthopedic surgeon… I chose to ignore it instead (for 3 years) One day while working out with a friend I told him I couldn’t continue cause of the pain, confused I was still living with my shoulder pain he recommended Michelle Unlike everyone I worked with prior Michelle put A LOT of time and detail to understand where the pain was, when I was experiencing it and how limited the movement in my shoulder was In addition to treatment she taught me stretches and excersizes to strengthen other muscles that were putting too much stress on my shoulder. After 5 treatments my pain is 95% gone Like Michelle stated the first time I saw her. She wanted to cure me so I’d never return to treatment I see Michelle as a friend more than anything now that I don’t require treatment, and would recommend her to Anyone. Especially if they’re at the point of Giving Up on healing!
Fantastic experience: 10/10 recommend working with Dr. Michelle. Initially came to her with chronic shoulder pain that I'd been dealing with for 2+ years. Within the first few sessions I got movement back that was pain free for the first time in over a year. I also appreciated that she took the time to listen and treat any other areas of concern I was dealing with (not all physical therapists will do this without scheduling another appointment). She is awesome to work with and very knowledgeable!
Fantastic experience: I had been having pain in my knee for about 6 months prior to seeing Michelle. It wasn’t terrible at first, and I just assumed it would get better on its own. It didn’t, instead progressively got worse until I couldn’t do my beloved country swing anymore. Michelle had me fixed up in 3 sessions doing a combination of mobility exercises, cupping and dry needling, and just in time for a 2 week trip where a lot of hiking and biking ensued. I can’t recommend her enough!
Fantastic experience: I have had the chance to work with Dr. Michelle several times over the last few years. After having 3 children in 4 years (and still feeding one of them), my body has been left depleted. Dr. Michelle has an extensive knowledge of the body - including pregnancy and postpartum, and each time I’ve left feeling restored, refreshed, and revived. She is physically strong, friendly, and Uber talented. Added bonus, Dr. Michelle truly cares about helping her patients evolve past their limitations…so, if you are fortunate like me, may not need many treatments to see a total body improvement! Thank you Dr. Michelle for your service and gifts!!
Fantastic experience: Abide Physical Therapy is amazing! I have been struggling with a shoulder impingement for a couple of years, and I decided to try cupping. Dr Michelle explained what we would do and how each movement and placement of the cups would help my shoulder. I noticed an immediate relief and increased mobility after the first session. This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend Abide Physical Therapy.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Michelle is an amazing PT! I came in with chronic neck and upper back pain. I'd gone to other Chiropractors, PTs, and they could not provide long term relief or results. Michelle has gotten me on the pain free path for neck and back and is now treating me for pregnancy pains. If you're seeking a long term solution to your pain, you NEED to come see Dr. Michelle at Abide Physical Therapy! NEVER have I had a PT spend a full hour with me providing direct hands on treatment like Dr. Michelle does. I've been to several of the big corporate PT places in the valley and the therapist will spend maybe 10 mins with me, give me exercises to do on my own and be done with it. It's no wonder I didn't get better. If you want to get to the root of your pain issues, and get to feeling better, come see Dr. Michelle!
Fantastic experience: I had trouble with my shoulder. I was unable to raise my arm above my shoulder or overhead. Dr Michelle was very thorough testing me. I felt results the first session. She had me try different treatments that really helped me regain my mobility. I’m 70 years old and back to lifting and working out without pain! I highly recommend Dr Michelle!
Fantastic experience: I was struggling with an IT band issue, but I had been to a physical therapist before, and it didn't help. However, after seeing Dr. Michelle, I know now what physical therapy should be like! Her assessment is so thorough and she really comes up with a treatment plan that works with you and what will fit into your lifestyle. Unfortunately my insurance prevented me from working with her long term, but even the short time we spent together helped me see what physical therapy could be like, and I'm never settling for less again! She's amazing.
Fantastic experience: Dr.Michelle is amazing! She is so warm and bubbly and she understands the body really well! If you are in pain, Dr.Michelle can help!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Michelle is so knowledgable and experienced. I say this because I can give her the smallest details about what I’m feeling and she knows exactly how to figure out what it is and what’s causing it. She’s super on top of the follow up and makes sure that our treatment is actually solving our discomfort.
Fantastic experience: Michelle is incredibly empathetic with vast experience with patients who have complex chronic illness. So grateful for her. Craniosacral therapy is very gentle yet makes a big difference.
Fantastic experience: January of 2019, I had my second hip replacement. This surgery due not go as well. After 2 rounds of physical therapy and 18 months later, all the specialists, my ortho surgeon sent me to , could not find the source of the #10 pain shooting down the leg of my new hip. I was in such pain, I was back to using a walker for months. But everyone kept telling me to go to PT…again. What could a PT possibly do for me by that time? I thought what could it hurt ♀️ I called the same place I had gone to before, requested someone else. I literally said I need some young whipper-snapper , know it all , bossy exert who knew what they were doing. And I sure got her! Michelle literally nailed the issue in 2 minutes! I cried all the way home from such relief, because up till that day , I thought my leg would need to be amputated! I felt such relief and so Blessed to have found her. She’s the answer to many prayers, and she saved me again a few months later with severe lower back pain. The exercises I was given, I found out , are life-time pain management. Michelle definitely is an artist at her work. I was so happy to have found her. I feel such comfort now, knowing I can walk the rest of my life and not feel pain, just by the knowledge she has shared with me, The must simplistic and safe exercises, took away my fears of a life full of pain. Thank you Michelle ❤️
Fantastic experience: I have been working with Dr. Perry since early February 2022. Focus areas of body repair started with left wrist (low mobility from excess scar tissue), followed by left knee (chronic arthritis and severe meniscus tear), and currently on hip / ankle mobility (long-standing misalignment during squats resulting from left knee over-compensation). Her initial approach is surgical and her subsequent remedies are corrective. After recovery, her efforts combine into sustainable preventative measures (tasks) for improved balance and mobility. I integrate her assignments into my daily warm-up routine and although they are sometimes time-intensive, they are sufficient for injury prevention and improved performance. I'd certainly recommend Dr. Perry for injury containment and recovery, but the patient must be consistent with doing the assigned exercises and movements in order to maximize results. Long term improvement take priority over short term relief and that is Dr. Perry's endgame.
Fantastic experience: I have had chronic pain off and on for years, Dr. Michelle's ability to hone in on the problem source and rehabilitate it is second to none. Now I am able to greatly manage my pain and work towards improving my overall health.
Fantastic experience: Kind of out of the blue, my right knee started hurting. Eventually, it hurt a lot. I’d been walking an average of 5 miles/day for a couple of years. Sure, at 58, I had some “old lady soreness,” but nothing to speak of; nothing some good stretches and a couple ibuprofen couldn’t fix. But this? This was different. It got to the point where I could barely walk in general, and any mileage was out of the question. Sometimes it hurt when I wasn’t even doing anything! I was convinced that it was time for a knee replacement, but I called my ex-husband, a really great PT, and begged for help. His schedule didn’t permit time to see me, so he recommended Michelle. I loved that was able to see me quickly, she came to my house, she was reasonably priced, and I could use my HAS. From the minute she walked in, I liked her. NOT that I just want someone I like. I want someone good, no GREAT, but it was a nice start. Michelle is very easy going. She smiles and laughs easily, but she’s also serious about the PT. She LISTENS. Not only did she listen, she heard me. She absolutely understood what I was saying to her, even though my symptoms seemed jumbled and random to me. She quickly zoomed in on the problem, did an eval, had me do a few things to show her what I could/couldn’t do, then prescribed some exercises. I was fully prepared for them to be torturous and painful, but they weren’t! They were simple and DOABLE. They were easy to incorporate into my day, so I did them, and much to my surprise and delight . . . I GOT BETTER! The things in my knee that I thought were bone/joint that I thought might need to be replaced turned out to be soft tissue stuff that was pretty easy to work out. About a month later, after a lot of sitting on an epic road trip, I started having trouble with my other knee. But this time, I knew relief was a phone call away. I was out of state, but Michelle did a Zoom eval with me! She had me walk and squat and a bunch of other stuff, and then she did her thing. Again, she gave me simple exercises that were easy to do, and, of course, I got better. I saw her in person when I got home, and she dry needled me and encouraged me to continue with all I’d been doing, and I’m well on the road to recovery and getting back into a fitness routine. I honestly can’t say enough good about Michelle. She’s an amazing person, teacher, and therapist! I know I paid her, but it still sort of feels like what I got from her was a gift.
Fantastic experience: When I Broke my foot, Dr. Michelle at Abide was one of the first people I called. She has been treating me throughout the healing process and I know the PT treatments have stimulated healing, kept my ankle mobile so that once the bone is healed I’ll be ahead of the game when it comes to getting back full strength, walking and mobility.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Michelle was great and helped me so much! I had an undiagnosed knee injury (in retrospect, likely a small meniscus tear) that I held off on treating because I thought it wasn’t serious/would go away. It continued to nag and I saw Dr. Michelle and after the first session which included manual therapy it already felt so much better! I continued to see her for consistent manual therapy and exercises to strengthen/activate other muscles around it and it is completely healed. Seeing Dr. Michelle saved me from spending money on an MRI and unnecessary surgery an orthopedist likely would have recommended to me. She is extremely knowledgeable and has great bedside manners.
Fantastic experience: I had experienced chronic/intermittent hip pain for years before working with Michelle at Abide. It often limited my activity level, especially with weightlifting, and kept me from accomplishing my goals. Michelle educated me on what exactly was going on (and why), treated me with patience and encouragement, and I was able to begin lifting, jumping, and resuming yoga without issue. Michelle is super knowledgeable, fun to work with, and truly cares! I have so many additions to my toolbox of pre-hab activities to keep me healthy in the gym. I’m very grateful for Michelle!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Michelle is wonderful! I started seeing her in March 2022 due to a knee injury. I started seeing her right away as she witnessed the injury happen, she helped do an initial assessment and get me in contact with an orthopedic doctor. Once the orthopedic doctor recommended physical therapy I knew right away Dr. Michelle was the right person for me. She used her hands on manipulation, dry needling and other techniques to help guide me to recovery. She also worked hand in hand with my trainer on programming that has helped me grow stronger than ever. She takes the time to explain what she is doing and how it will help in the recovery process. I currently still see Dr. Michelle for plantar fasciitis and the occasional shoulder soreness. I love how positive and caring Dr. Michelle is. My daughter has joined me for a few appointments and Dr. Michelle explains what she is doing to my very curious 5 year old. Highly recommended!
