"This is the best PT clinic around, hands down. Abby and Brian are by far the most outstanding physical therapists - they appreciate the complexity of an athlete and understand the importance of optimizing a runner's health through strength, stability, and injury prevention."
"I could rave about the facilities, the technology or any number of things that make Run Raleigh PT a 5-star clinic. But what makes Run Raleigh PT simply the best is the people. The team is the most knowledgeable and experienced group of PTs & runners who have been through everything and know how to hep you in every way."
"Coming to RunRaleigh and working with Jennifer has been a worthwhile investment. Troubled by chronic IT Band Syndrome, I've gotten back to running pre-injury weekly distances and have learned a lot about injury prevention and treatment. The combination of manual therapy, strengthening exercises and dry needling has benefited me greatly."
Run Raleigh PT: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Abby's for many, many years, and she has always been super effective in dealing with the various issues I have had that required a talented physical therapist. Besides being a very nice person who cares about her patients, she has always been successful in treating the various maladies I've presented with. If you have need for a great PT practice, Abby and her team of talented therapists should be your first choice.
Fantastic experience: Abby Douek and staff are highly competent, friendly and professional. Run Raleigh PT is top notch.
Fantastic experience: Brian has helped me with shoulder and back issues and it’s been a huge help. Especially with your back, you need someone you can trust. He discussed trigger points and how that relates to my pain and how he treats me. He ask a lot of questions as well to get a good understanding of the issue. Completely recommend!
Fantastic experience: Knowledgeable and talented therapists. My family and I have been coming here for years, and we are always satisfied.
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful intake with Dr. John. I highly recommend coming here. They are focused on improving your health and quality of life. Book a session immediately! I will be coming back in 3 weeks again.
Fantastic experience: Time well spent. Very informative. Professional demeanor entire experience. Great listening skills.
Fantastic experience: I have been in the care of Abby for almost 3 years now on and off and she has helped me naviagate through a chronic pain. She always takes the time to listen to the status of my pain before administering the different techniques she uses to help with pain management. I have no hesitation in recommending Abby!
Fantastic experience: There’s nothing better than identifying the source of your pain and then finding out how best to stretch it, work it and cajole it back into pain free functionality! Abby is amazing at what she does and her kind and compassionate care will heal you body and soul!! On the road to recovery thanks Abby!
Fantastic experience: Although I’ve now been to two physical therapists over the last couple of years, I still find myself in awe of the seemingly magical healing they are able to bring about! When I went to see Connor in early April, I feared I’d never be able to walk without limping again, much less run which has been my outlet for practically as many years as I’ve been alive. My knee hurt (orthopedic diagnosis was arthritis in the knee, which I’m learning lots of people have)so much, I was afraid to put much weight on it. With Connor’s help I was able to push through some of that pain with simple, but effective stretches and exercises, and within a couple of months was walking regularly and am back to running several miles 3-4 times a week now. Amazing! Connor is kind, encouraging, knowledgeable and great at his job. I highly recommend him and the entire staff at RunRaleigh should you need help with recovering from physical injuries.
Fantastic experience: Brian was great to work with! He explained everything and answered all my questions while performing a VO2 max test.
Fantastic experience: Jen is one of the best therapists I've ever had. I see her regularly about twice a month. Since I'm active (run, bike, swim, strength train), and in my early fifties, getting treated is so important to keeping healthy and injury free.
Fantastic experience: Brian is awesome! He is helping me get my hip back in working order . He listens to concerns, and he has always been on time. He tries different techniques to understand what will work best and explains everything he is doing. It is wonderful how much improvement I am seeing in my hip pain and tightness. - Thanks Brian
Fantastic experience: If you are looking for the best Physical Therapy in Raleigh try Run Raleigh. The therapists are the best around and the facility is first rate. I have been going to Run Raleigh for almost 6 years and I would recommend it to anyone in need of some pain relief. The owner Abby is extremely knowledgeable with all aspects of physical therapy.
Fantastic experience: I have been going to Brian Lesesky for PT for almost three years now. He is extremely knowledgeable, especially for issues related to running, but really for anything. I truly believe I’ve been able to avoid surgery on my spine due to herniated discs because of my work with Brian.
Fantastic experience: Son said he went to college for this and I believed him. With the ASMR cracking sound of my spinal cords slowly breaking apart, I had to switch my air things to ambient. Poland. Nice Haircut.
Fantastic experience: I walked into Run Raleigh after years of lower back pain and hip issues from running and weight training that no one had been able to help. Abby took the time to listen to how I spent my day-to-day life so that she understood my body better, she ran assessments on how I moved, she explained every step to me and sculpted a treatment plan specifically for me. The skill and in-depth knowledge of the body, specially of athletes, was evident right from the start. The difference in how my body feels and the mobility I have when I walk out of a session with Abby at Run Raleigh is amazing! Everyone on the team is excellent! I highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Abby was phenomenal and gave me many tools to help fix my running gait. She has an uncanny ability to explain what she's doing and why she's doing it. Not only was she focused on the present problem, but also on preventing problems in the future. Clean gym, private assessment rooms and lovely staff! Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Jennifer was absolutely amazing! She instantly made me feel at ease. I feel very encouraged by the pain I have been having in my lower back and my sciatic nerve. I’ll definitely look forward to seeing her again!
Fantastic experience: Staff is quite knowledgeable and caring. None of us like injuries, but Run Raleigh PT is a great investment when trying to jump on the road to recovery.
Fantastic experience: Sarabeth is wonderful! She works with my daughter who is 12 years old. She makes her feel comfortable and is very informed in all the challenges that come with being a competitive swimmer.
Fantastic experience: Run Raleigh is the place to go! I am an avid runner and always know I can count on Run Raleigh to get me back to running when I have an injury. They are knowledgable, friendly, they take time to understand what is going on, and they care about their clients! I trust their advice and always leave there after an appointment feeling better.
Fantastic experience: Sara Kiyani is great. My arm feels less painful already. I'm going back to her for at least the next few weeks, and likely for all future aches/pains/injuries. Thank you, Sara! Run Raleigh PT is Abby Douek's practice. You can't get much better people. They help with all kinds of aches & pains. It's not just for runners!
Fantastic experience: Sara was AMAZING. She worked me in the next day after I had an injury. She is very knowledgeable and kind, and I was feeling so much better even after just one session, and almost totally back to normal after the second. She works from a nice private office. I definitely recommend Sara as a physical therapist! I will be going to her again if I need physical therapy.
Fantastic experience: Sara! Thank you so much. I am feeling great and love the PT exercises and video you sent. So grateful for your amazing care. Here’s to stabilizing and mobilizing!
Fantastic experience: I love working and highly recommend Dr. Sara Kiyani! She quickly identified my areas of concern and put together a comprehensive treatment plan to include soft tissue treatment, stretching, and exercises. I have made great progress. Sara is extremely professional, highly qualified, a great listener and a joy to work with. Thank you Sara!
Fantastic experience: I went to Sara for a few things bothering me when running. I had some IT band pain and some odd back issues, within 3 sessions we fixed all of them! I was blown away by Sara’s wisdom, guidance and holistic instruction. She is an incredibly effective PT and I would recommend her to anyone.
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Run Raleigh PT. I had hip surgery in December of 2021 and began working with Sarabeth Ford a few weeks after my surgery. She is a dream. Sarabeth is a brilliant physical therapist. She is competent, devoted to her patients' growth and wellness, and is an overall delight. I am extremely grateful for her presence and the work she has done with me to get me walking and more mobile, again! Thank you, Sarabeth & the Run Raleigh PT Team!
Fantastic experience: A dedicated and very skilled group of physical therapists!! I’ve seen a few of them, but most recently Sara Kiyani, she’s amazing! Sara is very knowledgeable, and has been helping me manage low back and SI joint pain. She quickly finds the issue and works to correct it, manually, with dry-needling, and/or exercises to prevent recurrence. They’ll get you sorted out!
Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Run Raleigh on and off for the last 5 years. Jennifer is so good that my entire family sees her for pretty much for every injury. Jennifer is always honest with you what needs to happen and always is very efficient with your time so you get the most out of your appointment. In addition she is gentle and one of the kindest most patient individuals I know. The greatest thing is she saved my husband from a $20k plus carpel tunnel surgery on both wrists. After working with her for 6 months he has no more tingling in his hands!! She also works with my dad who has Parkinson’s twice a week. Since seeing Jennifer, my dad has made strides that we thought we would never see. There are many therapists at Run Raleigh each fit to your specific needs. For our family it has been a saving grace!
Fantastic experience: Jennifer Brown is the bomb. She is knowledgeable, practical, and compassionate. I've struggled with hip pain for over a decade, now that pain is gone. Dry needling and corrective exercises for core and glutes.
Fantastic experience: Met with Sarabeth today for a gait analysis and review of a calf injury due to compression syndrome (CECS). This has been a 2 year journey since first being diagnosed that includes a fasciotomy surgery (in June 2021) that has not resolved the issue. Of all the ortho / vascular physicians and PTs we have seen Sarabeth has been by far the most inquisitive when trying to understand the issue. She really listened and wanted to know the entire history. During the visit an analysis of running gait was performed on the treadmill. It was noticed that the right leg does cross over the middle cross point when running. Afterwards she performed a massage (release??) of the tibialis posterior muscle (no other PT in 2 years has worked this specific area) and we went back on the treadmill. The pain reduction was quite noticeable. Sarabeth provided us with a couple of exercises / massage techinques that we can do at home. Obviously it is early days but fingers crossed this will provide some relief. Very impressed and wish we had come here 2 years ago.
Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Jennifer Hood for over 2 years now and was going to Run Raleigh to see Abby for a previous injury before then. I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing Jennifer and the other PTs (Physical Therapists) at Run Raleigh are. At the beginning of my injuries, I was hesitant to go to Run Raleigh even though everyone I know recommended them because I was looking for somewhere that took my insurance, but after over a year of using my insurance on multiple PTs, chiropractors, pain doctors, acupuncturists, medical massages...you name it...with no lasting results/pain relief, I realized that I was spending more money with my insurance and getting no lasting relief and was not able to return (without pain) to the exercise that I loved. Well, thank goodness for Run Raleigh and Jennifer Hood who is a brilliant PT that looked at my entire body holistically to figure out what my issues were rather than just going directly to my pain points. The PTs here take such a holistic approach to pain management and just overall health. I used to look at PT as a place I went to when I had an injury but now I see it as a place I go to for maintenance of my body and to stay strong and to keep my body aligned. You are not paying someone to watch you do exercises 3 times a week here for 3 months like I was at all the other PT places I had tried. My time here with Jennifer is manual therapy and hands on time with intentional homework for me to work on to keep my body moving as it should be. Thank you to Run Raleigh for keeping me moving and thank you to Jennifer for getting me back in the water...something that I honestly thought I would never be able to do again without pain and for continuing to challenge me. It took me so long to write this review (after over 2 years of going to Run Raleigh) because I selfishly did not want everyone to know how amazing Run Raleigh is since I want to make sure I can still always get in to see Jennifer for an appointment, but I feel like it is time to share the amazingness with anyone who may not already know about how incredible this local PT place is for people young and old and for those who run, or don't run...seriously whether you have an injury, pain, or just want to get stronger...go see any of the amazing PTs at Run Raleigh---you will not regret it!! : )
Fantastic experience: I have been a competitive athlete my whole life. Now that I’m in my mid-40’s, I’m not immune to physical hang ups. In the last couple years, my hips would not allow for the same run stride that used to get me quite far in a short amount of time. In just a few short visits w Sara, I’ve been able to open up my stride and be pain free. I’ve seen a lot of different pt’s in my life, and Sara has given me the biggest gains in a very short period of time. Don’t delay- make your appointment today. You won’t regret it!
Fantastic experience: I visited for a gait analysis due to some lingering ankle/feet issues. Sarabeth immediately called out a few inefficiencies and provided corrective action/exercises to work on. She answered all of my numerous questions thoroughly and I'd highly recommend anyone dealing with issues to give Run Raleigh PT a visit.
Fantastic experience: I had a really great first experience with Run Raleigh. I saw Sara Beth. She was very thorough and knowledgeable. She identified the problem area very quickly and gave me a plan of action to begin correcting it. I am hopeful that I am on a path to significantly less pain in the future.
Fantastic experience: When I threw my back out, Urgent Care did nothing but prescribe opioids and muscle relaxants that did nothing to touch the agony. Jennifer used her magic to get me literally back on my feet without pain. I can't recommend these folks highly enough - they're above and beyond your typical PT.
Fantastic experience: Jennifer Hood is a life saver! She has helped me a great deal with my leg and foot pain. Would recommend her to anyone who needs PT.
Fantastic experience: Best PT in raleigh. Abby helped me recover from a bad car accident and I couldn’t be more thankful for her thoughtful, thorough, and skilled approach. Her knowledge knows no bounds and I appreciate her skill. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: RunRaleigh is the best PT for runners in the Triangle! I give credit to Abby D and staff for consistently helping this masters-age runner continue to run the miles and get to the start line. RunRaleigh gets the highest marks for both prevention and injury treatment!
Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough great things about Jen. She had been my savior. I ran for State back in the late 90’s and got injured. No one there seemed to help me at all and I was so discouraged. I quit running for a while. Actually, I couldn’t even run past 2 miles anyways. But, 20 years later I decided I needed more help than my own research and exercises. I had a complicated and difficult muscle mess but Jen’s knowledge, expertise, and positive reassurance made me believe in my running again. I am so thankful for meeting her!! I can run again and feel strong and stable. I haven’t felt that way in years! She has also helped my teenage daughter with her neck and knee issues. She’s an asset for our family!
Fantastic experience: No matter what I did, during every competitive running season, my "shin splints" would flare up. I got tired of having to decrease the intensity of my training, and even thought about quitting running altogether, so I saw Brian Lesesky as my last hope. He examined my running form, identified the issues, then used dry needling, scraping, and massage, and gave me exercises to target the weaknesses. After a few weeks of the prescribed exercises and two more appointments, I felt like I had a completely new set of legs. I honestly believe that Brian saved my running career. My favorite part about Brian other than his skill in his profession is that he loves answering your questions and thoroughly explains in a way that is easy to understand. He has a nice receptionist too
Fantastic experience: Back pain? Hip pain? Calf pain? Plantar fasciitis? Run Raleigh is IT. AND—Don’t worry if you’re not a “runner.” No matter. The physical therapists here will take excellent care of you, regardless of your fitness level or preferred way to exercise. The dry-needling is a miracle for my unbalanced hips/tight gluteus (sounds scarier than it is, truly!). Meanwhile ... REDCORD. This is the only place I know of in Raleigh with certified Redcord training. My weak core has been the root of my lower back issues for many, many years, and redcord is such a safe and effective way to isolate/strengthen those muscles. Google Redcord training. Check it out. Give it a try. It’s SO worth it.
Fantastic experience: I've been to many PTs in the Raleigh area for a suite of very challenging back problems. Run Raleigh PT is easily the best place in town, hyper competent PTs and great service. I can't recommend them enough.
Fantastic experience: Brian Lesesky used dry needling and exercises to heal my severe hip and knee pain. Thank you, Brian! I have been running since age 13, and at age 64 I am less fearful of the grim reaper than I am of being told I need to stop running! Brian gave me great home exercises that will help keep me injury free and moving!
Fantastic experience: I was referred to Run Raleigh PT by my Foot Doctor and I've been more than pleased. They specialize in runners. From day 1, every minute of my appointment with Claire Little has been great! You def get more than what you pay for. You do have to pay out of pocket, but it's not terrible. They help you with what to write on the claim form. They had me run on the treadmill on my first appt and took a video of my stride to better understand my formation, which I thought was pretty great! They give great tips and 'homework' to help with your recovery. They also give great leg massages. If you require dry needling, that's included in the cost of your appt. Totally worth it!
Fantastic experience: I had such a great experience at Run Raleigh PT. So thrilled with their ability to help me with my ankle. Extremely knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend to anyone in need of physical therapy. Wonderful group!
Fantastic experience: After only three visits with Carol to date, there is significant and measurable progress. I came with a cramping and mobility problem, which surgery was unable to fix. But through some video analysis, dry needling, strengthening, and relatively simple tips - I'm building back my cardio base and mileage with vanishing pain. Highly recommend... her diagnosis was swift and correct where other medical professionals and running experts had missed.
Fantastic experience: Abby D. is AMAZING! I wasn't able to run at all due to a calf strain, and through her therapy and expertise I am now able to get back up to my normal mileage. Run Raleigh PT is worth every penny! 5 stars!
Fantastic experience: I saw Abby many years ago, ahead of her starting Run Raleigh PT, and she was and still is the only person who was able to guide me on a path to running without pain. I think about it often and despite not living in Raleigh at the moment, hope to be able to see her again as a patient should I ever move back. If you have the opportunity to see this team for treatment I can recommend them highly enough. As an athlete or someone tired of chronic pain, give this group a shot to help you heal your body. They're truly some of the best in the industry.
Fantastic experience: Abby is one of the best PTs that I've ever been to. She's incredibly dedicated and immensely talented. I'd highly recommend Run Raleigh to anyone looking for a PT. Top of the line facility with a very down to earth staff.
