Negative experience: Where you show up, check in and wait for 30 min, only to be told that you have to reschedule because they "didn't know you were there" ?That's garbage service.

Fantastic experience: Rehabilitation Associates – A Cure for Imbalance, Vertigo and Dizziness due to Ear Crystals This place greatly improved my quality of life. For years I was suffering from vertigo and imbalance due to “ear crystals” or loose canaliths. According to the Mayo Clinic, loose canalith particles in the ear cause a condition known as BPPV – benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. BPPV causes intense spinning and dizziness when your head is moved in a certain direction. Many people, for example, almost black out when tilting their head upward and are frequently unsteady and off balance when walking. The Mayo Clinic points out that BPPV is caused when tiny canalith particles in the inner ear break loose and move into the semicircular canals in the inner ear. Fortunately, this condition can be cured by the Epley procedure, also known as vestibular therapy, whereby the canalith particles are moved to an area of the ear where the particles won’t cause dizziness. The procedure uses simple head movements to move the canalith particles and according to the Mayo Clinic is successful for 80% of people after only one or two treatments. After a lengthy questionnaire process with Craig, the expert Rehab Associates Physical Therapist, he moved my head in a series of movements which only took about ten minutes and my problem was completely resolved and it was like getting a new life and being released from a prison of agony and vertigo. If you have this problem with vertigo, it may be curable in short order. The horrifying part of this story is that I suffered from severe vertigo for almost three years and NEVER during my numerous visits to ear doctors at a major medical group did they mention anything to me about vestibular therapy. It seems astonishing that a group practice of ear doctors would not know about vestibular therapy which I learned about from Google searches. Just one more example of why you should do your own research and not blindly believe “the experts”. In addition, the ear doctors I sought treatment from both appeared to be in their late seventies – don’t doctors ever learn anything new or go to continuing education courses??? Rehab Therapy changed my life for the better in innumerable ways and I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Craig for severe TMJ issues, and he has been nothing short of amazing. I had struggled with constant pain and very limited mobility in my jaw for weeks but started seeing dramatic improvement after even the first session with Craig. I left each session feeling more and more improved and was taught the proper way to complete exercises at home as well, with everything carefully tailored to balance my level of tolerance with exactly what I needed to continue to improve. Craig is extremely professional, friendly and kind. In fact, everyone there was pleasant, helpful, and kind with each interaction – whether in person or by phone. I highly recommend Craig and Shelton Rehab Associates!

Fantastic experience: I recently began PT for back pain and it’s been a good and helpful experience so far. Everyone I’ve interacted with is kind, friendly and supportive. There is good communication and understanding with scheduling, exercises, homework and what’s needed during sessions. The facility is also very clean, nice quality and well maintained. Parking is easy and the building and rooms within are accessible. I am pleased with this practice. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I was going to rehab associates after having shoulder surgery and I was also dealing with a concussion. I had positive interaction with everyone there except for my therapist Caroline. I struggled with doing my rehab for my shoulder due to my concussion and she was very impatient with me. When I couldn't do something she constantly wrote negative comments to workers comp that I refused to do my rehab. She would constantly say you should be further along than where you are right now. I let Caroline know several times I felt light headed due to the pain of my shoulder but she still refused to listen or care about what I was going through due to my concussion. Caroline needs sensitivity training if she wants to help someone with multiple issues when they are getting rehabilitation. My doctor thought instead of writing negative comments she should have been trying to find solutions to help. Caroline I hope you get the training you need when dealing with someone that has a traumatic brain injury when you have to rehab their shoulder.

Fantastic experience: Excellent physical therapy treatment. I was referred for EDS symptoms, which I had struggled with all my life. A few months of work literally changed my life. I no longer struggle with everyday tasks and have even started to work out daily. Craig and Sheryl were excellent, super friendly and always made me feel comfortable. I always felt listened to during assessments and evaluations. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who struggles with hyper mobility.

Fantastic experience: Awesome facility! I had surgery on 12/21 to reattach my femoral bicep tendon with injury to my ACL, LCL and broke my leg. I used Craig as my Physical Therapist. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted, temp taken and are sent to start your appointment. They run like a fine oiled machine. The entire staff is amazing! As for Craig, he pushed me just enough to succeed. When I first started I never thought I’d be able to walk again and now I can walk around the block, play catch with my kids, ride a bike and live life. I still have a lot to go but he gave me the basics I needed.

Fantastic experience: I had spine surgery on Nov 2, 2020. I started PT at Rehab Associates in Shelton on Nov 24, 2020. My therapist, Craig, was excellent. He tailored my therapy to meet my goals. I had my evaluation on Jan 14. When I started therapy I was using a walker and I was unable to get up from a chair that did not have arms. I was unable to dress myself, cook , clean, or do laundry. My endurance walking, sitting, standing was limited. Now I can easily walk for a mile, sit and stand without assistance, dress and bathe without assistance, prepare all meals, do laundry and do most cleaning. Though I am not completely back to “my normal” , I am very pleased with my progress. I had major spinal surgery including spinal fusion and correction of scoliosis. I am very pleased with the progress I have made in Physical Therapy at Rehab Associates.

Fantastic experience: I received both physical therapy and occupational therapy at Rehabilitation Associates, and it was nothing short of life-changing. I have had PT other places for the same knee and shoulder injuries, but didn't get the result I got with this practice. The difference was apparent from the first day, when the PT and OT therapists did an assessment of the pain, range of motion, and so forth. It was much more detailed and focused than previous assessments I had gotten elsewhere. I was guided through every movement of the exercises, and the therapists never left my side, unlike other practices where I was left on my own to repeat the exercises while the therapist attended to a simultaneously scheduled patient. The result of a few weeks of therapy from the excellent Carol Galloway and Stephanie Doyle has been dramatic. I am now much more active and able to continue to progress on my own. Austin Chaves filled in for Ms Galloway when she was away, and he was also excellent.

Fantastic experience: Rehabilitation Associates/Shelton has been my only PT/OT therapists for nearly 20 yrs. I became a patient when OSG was on the 2nd flr. I have been blessed with great surgeons and an amazing team from Rehab Assoc that work so hard to get me back to “life as normal”. Carol Galloway, Stephanie Doyle, Deb, Steph, Hortense, Debbie (reception) and everyone else who has helped make all of my recuperations the happy events they were. From the moment you enter, you feel welcome & comfortable. Everyone has such a positive attitude and motivation that it makes the therapy work so much easier. My pool therapies allow me to reinforce my core strength & gets me going. Everyone has professionalism & ethics but make the sessions warm, supportive and positive. I absolutely believe that I would not be as mobile, pain free or as strong if Rehab Assoc/Shelton hadn’t been my therapists. Carol has spent countless hours training my body to regain strength, flexibility, workarounds after my lumbar fusions, shoulder surgeries, sciatica issues, etc, etc! Stephanie has the magic & toys to recoup my hands thru 2 wrist replacements,1 wrist fusion and other multiple assorted hand/wrist/finger surgeries. Bottom line...Rehabilitation Associated / Shelton has provided top notch care for nearly 20 yrs. Everyone is warm, friendly & focused on your care & road to recovery. I am awaiting a reverse total shoulder replacement and I am confident that I will receive that same incredible care while I am building back!

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your feedback Susan! We pride ourselves on the clinical skills of our therapists and their ethical and professional standards. Thank you for choosing us for your healthcare needs!

Fantastic experience: I tore my ACL and had surgery in September. I was nervous about the recovery process as I was told it was a very long and slow recovery. Thankfully, I had the best physical therapists on the block. Austin and Caroline were very motivating and personable PT's. I seriously looked forward to coming to my appointments and was heartbroken when I was discharged. The front desk staff and the aides were also so welcoming and made you feel as comfortable as possible. I would recommend the Shelton location over and over again. There were times where I would become frustrated but the team helped me through the so called "grueling recovery process." I am so thankful for everything they have done for me. Without meeting Austin, Caroline and the rest of the Shelton Rehab. Associate staff, I don't think I would as strong as I am today (physically and mentally). They were a huge life saver for me and exactly what I needed!

Fantastic experience: I did a round of Physical Therapy at Rehabilitation Associates in Shelton about a year and a half ago. I went for a lower back injury that sometimes didn’t hurt at all, sometimes was a low grade throb, but sometimes left me in excruciating pain and unable to walk. The treatment I got here was exceptional. My main therapist was Carol, but I also saw two of the other therapists during my time there. Each person gave me their undivided attention and offered their unique perspective, but also they all worked together to give me the best course of treatment. I saw two different PT assistants and they were both knowledgeable and caring as well. Also, the the front desk staff is friendly and helpful! My therapists worked side by side with me during each session and gave me the tools to progress at home. I do not do my home exercises as often as I should (everyday) but I do them, and in the year and a half since I finished my treatment at Rehabilitation Associates, Inc. I have not had an episode of extreme (or even moderate) pain. Also, they are one of the few places that does soft tissue work (basically a mini massage) and I believe that makes a big difference! I highly recommend this practice for Physical Therapy!
