Positive experience: *update: had a meeting with his entire team. Got updates and am now in the loop. I appreciate the efforts theyre putti g forward to make this better. My father had a stroke and has been in this facility less than one week. I've managed to have only two phone conversations with him. I live halfway across the country and I get no communication about him. He told me he cant use his cell phone because they wont help him pay his bill. His room phone isnt always close for him to pick it up. Today Ive called three time, the receptionist sounds like shes annoyed that people are trying to find their loved ones. I just had to ask for a supervisor's name and number because nobody seems to know anything in this place. HORRIBLY RUN FACILITY!

Negative experience: Where it concerns a recent experience at Northbridge Health Care Center, Bridgeport CT , I feel it's important to share my observations regarding the staff and management. Unfortunately, the staff at this facility displayed a troubling level of unprofessionalism. Many interactions felt dismissive, and it seemed that a significant number of staff members lacked the necessary training and skills to provide adequate care. One of the most alarming aspects was the apparent lack of effective management, little to no accountability and very disorganized operations. Integrity appeared to be lacking in several instances. There were moments when staff did not follow proper protocols, which not only jeopardized the well-being of residents but also contributed to an environment of distrust. This is particularly troubling in a setting that should prioritize safety and care. Empathy and compassion are crucial in a nursing home environment, yet many staff members seemed indifferent to the emotional and physical needs of residents. Left me feeling that the atmosphere was rigidly cold and unwelcoming. Placing the very little grad A staff they did have in Jeopardy of their own licensing. It Caused the low percentage of caring employees to make the hard decision to leave their place of employment for fear of the deteriorating aspects that were happening within. The combination of unprofessional conducts, inadequate management raises serious concerns for anyone thinking to have a loved one placed there. I can’t recommend this nursing home at this time I was and am deeply disappointed.

Negative experience: The worsts facility I have ever worked at. The administrator is extremely unprofessionally! Protect your license do not work there!!!!!!!

Negative experience: I had just started working there and the administrator is very unprofessional and rude to her staff! I had another job and she wanted to me to place my first job on the back burner to work for the facility. They also gave me my schedule mid week after I already had my schedule for my first job. When I asked to accommodate and I was willing to pick up when needed she told me No. when I asked to go to per diem I was denied. They have 1 aide to 24-27 patients and they had 1 aide working a whole floor with 48 patients. My main concern is the safety for the aides and the residents. They are not getting proper care, most of the residents have pressure sore that are stage 4 due to the lack of changing and staff. That administrator is a bully unprofessional and does not care about the quality of care for the residents or the staff. Aides usually quiet before they even come off orentitation. I don’t see the proper care being offered with the lack of staff so if you have family here please remove them. Lavonne does not care about them or her staff as a whole. Good luck

Negative experience: I applied to work at this facility, but as soon as I entered, I became disinterested. When I first arrived, I could only smell pee. The stench is greater inside. Patients in the back could be heard yelling for someone to stop. based on my experience working as a CNA. When a resident becomes aggressive, you have to pause, give them some space, and ask another nurse to help (none of these regulations were followed). When I inquired about the COVID status, the receptionist was quite impolite and unable to provide me with information. I wasn't greeted or given an introduction by the interviewer. In addition, she behaved really patronizingly during the interview. I wouldn't recommend anyone to bring friends nor family to this terrible place.

Negative experience: This is not a good place to work at. The Administrator Lavonn Davis is a real bully,she is disrespectful, unprofessional non-compassionate,very hostile to this one staff. She pick on this young lady all the time. Northbridge need to look at the people that they bring to be a Administrator

Positive experience: Nana who is an ambassador has been a great asset to northbridge in my opinion. My mom has been a long team patient for a while now ..has done several stints at northbridge and people like her come far few and inbetween. She shows compassion in all she does for my mom and seems to provide a sense of happiness for her as well. Im leaving a positive review soley based on her performance..although there are a few othwrs on staff..Northbridge needs more people like her.

Fantastic experience: Nana is a great wonderful person she helps me in everything I need good working women @ north bridge always says yes when you need help great worker assisting patients at north bridge good asset working with everyone I get along with her . She is a great ambassador to us

Negative experience: Place is clean but ,the kitchen sends what they feel like sending after filling out a menu. Being cordial, and polite is overlooked Here. Some are nice, others are not.

Fantastic experience: Didn't want to leave this ultra clean great healthcare rehab facility.i was througroughly impressed by the congenial compassion and care which paralleled the skilled medical expertise practiced by nurses, staff and other healthcare workers.the healthcare rehab facility coplusplplusuld have easily doubled as a 4 star hotel so clean and hospitable was environ and staff.

Negative experience: One of the worst healthcare facilities. Very rude and careless towards the patients. I wouldn’t recommend any one I know to bring anyone they love or care about to go here. One of the worst healthcare facilities in Connecticut!

Fantastic experience: North ridge health care people treated me with great compassion, care and joy. I would single out Naomi and ethenis in particular as making sure I received my medicines and food on time. If afood on my tray was not what I ordered, they notified the kitchen and made sure I received the food that I liked. Naomi and Ethenis spared no expense in ascertaining all my pati needs were provided for, and always had a joyful smile whenever they were with me. In otherNorth bridge was always clean

Fantastic experience: It was early last year, my brother's Birthday was in several days and he was in the Mental Health System. I spoke with him daily and saw him weekly. He went to the ER for a medication issue. "This is Dr. Savage. Your brother is here in the ER with Covid-19 pneumonia. We expect him to perish tonight." "What??" I said. He repeated his words. "Oh no, he's not!!" I replied. The nightmare...and fight began. We only have each other and I was determined. Day was night and night was day. How do you interrupt these warriors helping so many? But he was alone, and he was my brother. The weeks are blurry, I remember singing Happy Birthday to him on a phone. I begged and pleaded with the Administration, Finally...a light. Northbridge Health Care Center? they asked. YES!!!!! He arrived there a mess, loaded with numerous inappropriate meds. From the second he arrived at Northbridge Health Care Center both our lives changed. I was amazed! I was reached out to immediately; my hero (among many there) Erica Roman. She answered all my questions (no matter what hour of day and most nights), she allayed my fears, she had relevant MD's, Nurses etc. contact me. They worked as an impressive team, and gave my brother back a life 100x better than before. Together we worked through the problems; I now consider them family. From the maintenance man who fixes my brother's glasses to the highest level, this place is unique. Having worked in the medical arena, I have seen many things. The "System" scares me, but the warriors working at Northbridge Health Care Center are aware and have all bases covered. I encourage anyone searching for answers for a loved one to reach out to Northbridge Health Care Center, although I secretly don't want to share my "goldmine". You will not be disappointed.

Negative experience: My mom has been in this place since August , they always call me for payments of almost 1 000 monthly , but they dont change my moms sheets in her room. They dont mop or clean the floors . They serve her food with black pepper and they hive her pears . She is highly allergic to this . I notify them on a daily basis and they dont correct this ... seriously thinking on changing her to a better place ... My mom means something to us , even if to them she is just a number .

Fantastic experience: My father has been at Northbridge since 2018. The facility is clean, nurses and aides are compassionate and caring. The commuication there is professional, friendly and engaging. With what is going on right now with the COVID-19 crisis and on top of it, taking care of elderly patients can be incredibly trying. Northbridge has been stellar to my father!

Negative experience: The most disrespectful, unprofessional, hostile, angry, unfriendly, non-compassionate, lazy, and bitter Carribbean women work this facility. I WOULD NOT SEND a stray dog here. These people did not bathe my father, change him, or assist him. They shift blame and responsibility. They are extremely lazy. I’ve literally complained every day (multiple times a day) to nursing supervisors and Director of nursing. Awful facility. Do not go here. And we neee to consider the qualifications for becoming a cna or lpn because this place hires any and everyone regardless of character, quality, work ethic, or morals. DONT DO IT!!!

Fantastic experience: I’m an employee of Northbridge healthcare and recently my dad has had some life-threatening issues . I brought my dad to Northbridge for rehab therapy and I couldn’t be happier with my decision . The administrator, the staff, residents and their families have been so supportive. This is a difficult journey for me to go through with my dad. My brother questioned why I chose Northbridge healthcare And i told him it’s not just because I work there it’s, because they deliver great services, it’s clean, neat and very efficient and delivering therapy services . After my brothers first initial visit, he walked through the facility and he said to me “now I know why you chose Northbridge it is so neat and clean . “ He was surprised that the administrator even reached out to to offer her support , As she does with all the residents and their families. I can go home at night and rest in peace that dad is in good hands while I am not there . Not to mention that they receive the silver award this year.

Fantastic experience: I've been at northbridge for seven months They have outstanding nurses and great nursing assistants. Good food. One thing that truly stands out is the cleanliness. Staff is friendly and personable. The place is really awesome, never had an issue!..I love it. The activities staff is great and theres always something to do and I especially look forward to the cooking club and out trips. Thanks northbridge for your time and patientce I would highly recommend to anyone for long or short term care.

Fantastic experience: I truly LOVE this place. My father was transferred here in 2018 from another short term rehab that was not a pleasent experience and now he will staying for long term care. I can’t say enough about Northbridge and their staff; my dad has made so much progress here and I believe that Northbridge gave a piece of my dad back to me that I never thought I would see again! Everyone has different experiences but believe me when I say this place is the real deal and nothing short of amazing. Every single person I run into there daily always welcomes me with a smile and something nice to say about my dad even though I am positive there are days he gives them a hard time. Take it from someone who has had their parent in other nursing homes. Northbridge is professional, clean, and filled with amazing care givers. Thank you staff @ Northbridge for taking care of my dad and making the transition into long term care so much easier for me. -Alyssa Sakowicz

Negative experience: Caught them giving us the wrong patients medication, (heart medication to a person with no heart issues). Takes hours to get help to go to the bathroom. They just let you soil yourself and get bed sores. Can never get them to answer the phone when we call either. Just a recording that says "no one is answering please leave a message" This place needs to be shut down.
