St. Vincent's Medical Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Was just here with my son to visit a close friend which is being taken care of here at St.Vincents , I decided to go to the Cafe for a coffee, truth be told i finally had a Starbucks the Barista here Mari is a blessing, so kind and proffesional Thank You Mari for the great convo
Negative experience: The worst absolute worst hospital! Do not ever come here you will die waiting to be seen I spent over 6 hours waiting to be seen and did not even get the correct bloodwork done!!!
Fantastic experience: I just have to give a review based on my own experience with St.Vincents . I could not have had a better experience. I had a surgery I was supposed to be an outpatient for however due to circumstances beyond their control I had to spend the night. I couldn’t have had a better crew taking care of me from the Drs to the PAs nurses ,cleaning staff , cafeteria (food was above average),and physical therapist.I was met with a smile from everyone I dealt with. The facility was extremely clean , my room was equipped with a vey comfortable couch for my family and visitors. Staff was genuinely concerned for my health and comfort and attentive to my every need. If you are considering a procedure here I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hats off to you and your wonderful staff - Mike
Negative experience: Worst ER. They will let you wait for no reason

Positive experience: I had same day surgery on November 6 2024, it was a very good experience from start to finish. I had never been to this hospital before and was concerned about some of the reviews. But my experience was great, the facility was clean, organized and all the medical personell were very attentive and caring to my needs. I would like to commend the recovery nurse Amelia for going above and beyond to attend to all my needs after surgery. I also liked that they had the patients in comfortable recliner chairs before surgery instead of laying on stretchers. It was a more comfortable setting. The team, OR nurses, Anesthesia Dr. Etc were all very personally involved in my comfort and care. DH
Negative experience: My name is Laura Vargas and I went to the emergency room on Friday 10/18 at 530 pm my Dr sent me because I was bleeding internally after having polyps removed during an Endoscopy. Due to lack of concern and caring by the hospital staff I almost died and had to have blood transfusions because they did not take my condition seriously even though I told them I was bleeding and Dr sent t me. . I was told I was fine and it was busy. I want to hear from someone in authority so I can tell them the whole story.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, Laura Vargas. We are disappointed your experience did not fulfill the standards we strive to provide, and we would like to work with you towards a better resolution. A patient advocate would be happy to speak with you. You can email [email protected] or call 475-210-5164.
Negative experience: This is literally the worst hospital ever my father literally sliced his finger open to the point his finger was almost off bleeding out of his gauze his blood pressure was super high and the look over 4 hours to be seen by far the worst place ever employees rude “I can’t make you wait do what you want” when people are in need of medical assistance all MAs and nurses in triage all on their phone and chit chatting don’t know why this is still in business
Negative experience: Worst er experience ever. They stole from me and didn't feed me for twenty four hours
Fantastic experience: This week has been one of the hardest of my life as I had to say goodbye to my partner of the last 7.5 years. I just wanted to say that the care, grace, and gentleness the teams in the ICU showed not only my partner, but also his family and myself were astounding. I was blown away by the small things I noticed like various nurses holding his hand despite him being brain dead. The nurses gently talking to him when they had to move him or take labs, even though he could not hear them. It just shows how much they truly care and it melted my heart. In particular nurses Brendan and Ben. The two of them were very kind, informative, and accommodating. It's tragic that I had to come to your hospital for the reason I did, but honestly I don't think anyone else could've helped me through this with such care. I just wanted to give my thanks to everyone for being so incredibly wonderful in such a difficult situation.
Fantastic experience: A Sunday night trip to the ER; entire staff, from Security to nurses to techs and doctors were professional, caring and fast!
Fantastic experience: I've seen some people have had bad experiences here from looking at reviews but I must say from my own experience, they took great care of me in the e.r and everyone working that day was extremely kind and caring. Griffin completely ignored me and sent me home with no help other than telling me to go see my primary. St. Vincents was able to give me a diagnosis and an entire plan moving forward on how to get back to a healthy life. I can not thank you enough. I don't know if they've made changes from reading reviews but I have nothing but good things to say about this place from my own experience. Thank you for the care and kindness, the staff at St.Vincent's e.r are so much better than Griffin e.r
Negative experience: 4 hours later we are still sitting here waiting... this can't be real .. this cannot be how this is supposed to go .. so there is only one doctor for the entire E.R ?
Negative experience: Decent staff but wait too long waiting time, every time I come get there isn’t a lot of people in the lobby but the I have had to wait over 4 hours every time to get seen by a doctor.
Fantastic experience: Hospital and complete doctors & staff top notch!!! I was taken care of by the best!!!
Negative experience: I came into my appointment at 4:27 my appointment was at 4:30 i was here before the time they start the grace period, I reached the lady at desk for the nutritionist she was sitting down as soon as I said I was here for the nutritionist she was very disrespectful and nasty when I came in to see my nutritionist the lady spoke to me with a tone she shouldn’t be speaking to people with “ I’m off I’m off “ “someone come in here for her she’s seeing the nutritionist I’m off” “your coming to your appointment at 4:30 and it’s 4:30 “ disrespectful and disgusting she is African American with glasses I see her all the time when I come to see my nutritionist and she had never spoken to me like that she always had an attitude but I brush past it she needs to be fired I heard it’s not the first time absolutely absurd I felt disrespected I told the lady to relax and is she okay because I was so appalled I would give a 0 star for this but I can’t , get better people to work in here !! Sick and disrespectful not the way to speak to people when you don’t know them or what’s going on with them , your dealing with patients have some respect!
Negative experience: My husband was seen June 29 2022 for constipation he was handicapped. I was his caregiver he was deaf and paralyzed on the right side they released him in the exact same condition I brought him I put in reports with the patient relations. They did absolutely nothing he was brought back on July 22, 2022. I called in the middle of the night because I was his only source of communication because of deafness They had lost him come to find out they had given him a medication he was allergic to since birth He Hallucinated got out of the bed somehow and staggered his way falling. He remembers everything out of the hospital, not knowing where he was no one from the hospital cares I had to file 3 missing person reports in three different cities. No one bothered to even call me, even though I was his caregiver through the insurance company as well as the hospital for many years prior to this, this was our hospital upon returning to the hospital when my father-in-law found him he was returned July 23 2022 every time I talk to a nurse, no one knew he was deaf. I was also taking care of his aunt who had dementia and he was conservator for so I could not get there every day. No one fed him. No one cleaned him. He was on the ninth floor. finally they released him on the August 3 2022, when I went to pick him up, he had blood coming out of his private area as well as blood clots everywhere in his groin area. They told us he was in remission from cancer as well, and his spine had been broken during the fall from leaving the hospital so we needed to wear a back brace they didn’t even no it wasn’t written in his chart , They released him regardless, then came running down and threw a back brace huge back brace in the back of my car never showed us how to use it. The valet Gentlemen, helped me get into the front seat of the car from the wheelchair I begged them not to release him I am not a medical professional in anyway and I have an 86-year-old woman at home to take care of They told me I had to be out before 5 o’clock or Security would remove us And we have a huge bill from the hospital. They could’ve cared less the condition he was in. He was returned on August 7 and I had to sign DNR papers. There was nothing more that they can do. He died August 15, 2022 massive internal hemorrhaging from an ulcer I looked for Lawyers, for over a year and a half no one I had to sue the hospital on my own for what they did to me as a caregiver and I used the caregivers act They didn’t even know they were subpoenaed. They were in default until I was court ordered in February to call them. They showed up and hit me with dismiss motion They turned it into a Malpractice case because they know that I couldn’t sue them under a malpractice case because I did not get opinion letter From another Another doctor that works in the same type of facility the emergency department, which, of course no Boby from the emergency department is going to write a letter and ruin their career so that covers them That is how our system is up not one person answered for Anything that was done to either of us he is dead because Do I know if he would’ve died Either way I don’t all I know is I have tried to unsee The situation the Blood when his blood clots Ruptured at my house after begging them not to release them in that condition the screams The moaning from him to see a human being suffer to that extent I can never unsee what they did, but I am not a rich Wealthy person he died at 56 years old And I died right with him that day and nobody gets justice nobody That Hospital did everything wrong Because I am not a wealthy person, I don’t get justice justice is only for the wealthy If you think about going to this hospital, turn around and go to another one docket number FBT-CV-23-5052824-S Bridgeport Kim Orosz versus St. Vincent Hospital if I could give them no star I would
Fantastic experience: Dr Orelup was so kind and attentive to my needs @ the emergency department. Felt so cared for by the nurses and maternity staff as well. Thank you for taking care of me great hospital.
Fantastic experience: Buen servicio encuentro lo ando buscando Buenos precios los trabajos de tapicería los hacen bien y rápido
Fantastic experience: MARTHA GILL is short stay is by far the most professional...accommodating and definitely an asset to St Vincents Hospital......
Fantastic experience: Great staff, while I couldn’t take bad news anymore the lunch lady prayed with me. The nurses hugged me, the Nicu staff made sure I ate well. God bless every single staff in this hospital they deserve a lot of blessings❤️.
Negative experience: ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC!!!.. WARNING!!!.. if you're ill please avoid this place. They're irresponsible and extremely slow. EVERYONE IN HERE IS CARELESS, I came into the emergency room with severe CHEST PAIN, and they had me in the waiting area to get registered and wait...i waited for hours. When i finally got a room, They draw my blood and forgot it in the room and was never sent to the lab. This place will face a MAJOR LAW SUIT ONE DAY. and it'll be the end of saint Vincent.
Your feedback is sincerely appreciated, and will be forwarded to the appropriate staff members. If you have any additional concerns, please contact [email protected] at your convenience so we can work with you to make this right.
Negative experience: I just want to leave a review to warn anyone who’s loved one gets critically sick to never ever ever set foot in a Hartford healthcare facility, my mom had a diabetic keto acedosis attack and they couldn’t diagnose it they stopped giving her insulin, the only time doctors came in the room was to scan a barcode to bill her. There were about a dozen doctors, not a single team, they killed my mom, they forced my elderly father to take her off life support after 2 days in icu, and there they messed up as well! They said she had sepsis when she in fact was in diabetic shock, they are fools at Hartford “healthcare” it should be called Hartford death chamber. Truly disgusting company, please go to Bridgeport hospital or Yale don’t suffer the same fate that my family did. And don’t trust a “hospital group” that is expanding like it’s a McDonald’s.

Please call 203-576-5164 or you email [email protected]. Your feedback is important to us, thank you for taking the time to share it J Gulati.
Negative experience: I just walked out within minutes of an appointment for a stress test. I felt the place was dirty and the staff were like talking to a robot. No personality at all. I was uncomfortable and told them so and left. I'll stick with Yale as I have never had any complaints with them

Positive experience: I can only speak for the recovery room nurses in this review. If you have a death wish, then this is your place. Administered the incorrect medication which extended the recovery by a few hours. Then she called in the prescription to the wrong pharmacy and told me hospital pharmacy was closing-made it 5 minutes before closing. However, was charged twice for the medication which I realized when I returned home. There must be better run hospitals somewhere? Find Griffin to be the best overall from first hand experience.
Fantastic experience: Most people write reviews when something doesn't go as planned. In this case, I had to let the community know that St. Vincent's went beyond my expectations. Every single touch point from reception, to pre-operative check in steps, surgery through to post-operative was A-Class. Kind, attentive, professional medical staff. I would not hesitate to have St. V's take care of my medical needs in the future. Thank you to this special place filled with special people! Stellar!
Fantastic experience: My first time at St. Vincent’s. I was impressed. Very clean, staff very nice.
Negative experience: Very poor service here at st Vincent the nurses here are super disrespectful I have been sitting in the Er with my son since 11:35 am and it's still he has not seeing by a doctor and this nurse is having a attitude because I ask her how long more we going to be in the Er for there service is poor for the price. Sad I will go somewhere else the next time.
Fantastic experience: Mom had a knee replacement. She is 93. The staff was over the top kind. The food was good. They were patient and took their time. From student nurses to top level drs.
Negative experience: Upon accompanying a family member for a planned procedure afrer check in I was instructed to wait in the waiting room. This was about 9:30 a.m. about 10;a.m I used the ladies room in the lobby. There was no blower to dry your hands and no paper towels. I told the girl at the waiting room desk and was told I had to tell the security desk which I immediately did. Two hours later I used the same ladies room again still no paper towels I again reported it to the security desk being told they would report it again. Now at 1;30.,p.m I used it again still no paper towels. This is unacceptable house keepingfor a hospital. I can understand once, but not three times in four hours. I have not used St. Vincents for myself in thirty years or so, now I know why my doctors prefer Bridgeport Hospital.

Negative experience: I recently gave birth and I requested to take my placenta home because I wanted jewelry to be made out of it. The doctor agreed and told me I needed a cooler, arrangements were made and I got a cooler and when I was being discharged and asked about it they told me it was “ discarded”. I believe they were trying to do everything in this hospital to break my spirit because I was black. (THIS IS MY PERSONAL FEELING). Would not recommend this place if you are a person of color.

Fantastic experience: Shoutout to James who transported me to my cat scan. He was so kind and caring. His compassion and positive attitude really made me feel so much better after my MVA. The doctors, nurse, tech, and even the registration person was also so very kind and helpful. It was truly a great experience.
Fantastic experience: I love Dr. Bell at the CHF CLINIC. All the staff and Drs are very professional and caring!! Thank you for looking after me I appreciate you all!! ❤️☺️
Negative experience: My wife was bleeding nonstop, and instead of assisting in the waiting room, she sat there and continued to wait for over 6 hours. We watched as people were called after we arrived and still had to wait. I spoke with someone in the front, and she showed me that my wife would be next. Instead, we continued to wait and wait to make matters worse. My wife suffers from high blood pressure and heart problems, and there was still no urgency at all.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, Paul Anderson. A patient advocate would be happy to speak with you. You can email [email protected] or call 203-576-5164.
Fantastic experience: Very little wait time concerned professional staff. Clean and tidy. Very Thorough.
Negative experience: RACIST LYING NURSES, DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED HERE. IF YOU REPORT THE NURSES FOR NEGLIGENCE THEY BAND YOU FROM ENTERING THE HOSPITAL TO SEE YOUR LOVED ONE. BEWARE, IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR WATCH THE WAY YOU WALK. I WAS TOLD I WALK WITH AN ATTITUDE WHATEVER THAT MEANS, THIS CONSTITUTED REMOVAL FROM THE GROUNDS. THE NEXT DAY I GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND TOLD BY SECURITY I WAS NOT ALLOWED UP. THEY CALLED THE SUPERVISING NURSE, SHE WAS TOLD I THREATENED THE NURSES. IF I HAD THREATENED ANYONE THEY WOULD HAVE DEFINITELY CALLED THE POLICE AND CHARGES WOULD HAVE BEEN FILED. THEY ASKED THE SECURITY GUARD WHO ESCORTED ME OUT THE PREVIOUS DAY IF THIS IN FACT OCCURRED AND HE SAID NO, GO FIGURE. THEY ARE LYING ON ME TO KEEP ME OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. I AM THE SOLE CARE TAKER OF MY 81 YEAR OLD MOM. IF SOMETHING HAPPENS THEY HAVE TO CALL ME. TELL ME HOW THIS MAKES SENSE.
Negative experience: FIRE HAZARD!!!!! Alert STATE FIRE MARSHAL…North Wing. dryer vent clogged!!! a year ago today and I’ll “visit” to prove I’m correct!!! That ITS STILL CLOGGED!!! This facility doesn’t follow “their own” COVID protocols either, I had visitors without COVID shots, THATS recorded! Doc GERMAIN!!!! I’ll return to HAUNT YOU!!!! As the ABUSE eye recall you put upon me!!! has me CRIPPLED! Lowe’s over HomeDepot!!! Your little charms have no charm over me…. I recorded the abuse, survived and made it OUT!!! I will now EXAM my insurance billing to see if you made any false claims OR didn’t claim treatment I know you gave me. CHEERS! Hmmm and yes ALL DOCTORS and floor personnel are to present their photo and full names on issued work badges, why did you have all employees turn badges around and WHITE OUT TAPE over last names,,, see and YES!!! I recorded ALL!!! Now,,, one may learn what it’s like to fall in a pile of their own … Hay! Good day sir. Till then be well. Cheers
Fantastic experience: I had a total knee replacement on December 8, I spent 1 day in hospital he hospital. From the beginning to the end of my discharge the staff were exemplary. Everyone should professional and compassionate disposition. The nurses ,cna even housekeepers and dietary staff shows professional conduct at all time.
Negative experience: I called the ambulance to my house to get my sister . She has lupus , she was throwing up blood and could barely breathe. She left around six o'clock pm . She had called me by 8:10 asking me to come to the hospital because she is still throwing up blood and can't breathe . When I got there this is what I see . When I asked the nurse what was going on, he said they would be in there shortly. And I'm still here sitting watching my sister throw up blood and barely able to breathe . Is this not negligence at it's finest ?
Negative experience: This Hospital has the worst policies I have ever seen! If you have a loved one on their death bed, don't bother buying any flowers for them because this concentration camp won't allow you to bring them to the room. These Natzi's will only allow two guests at a time so if your loved one is dying and could die any moment you better hope you get to say your goodbyes. Any family driving from out of state well don't even bother you will be waiting in the waiting room forever! Nurses are cold heartless monsters and this place charges you for parking so you better carpool.
Negative experience: ER staff are super disrespectful. It took 5 hours to get seen by a doctor. I was constantly vomiting to a point that I passed out. We pay thousands and thousands of dollars to stay at the waiting room. Their nurses and doctors they don’t care at all. They should rename the ER to slow room! We are not wild animals! We deserve respect!

Fantastic experience: Had a scheduled c-section and a two-day stay on the maternity floor, everyone was absolutely stunning, friendly, quick to answer the call button, helpful, everything you could want. 5 stars, but skip the "steak" dinner (it was like trying to eat shoe leather.)
Fantastic experience: Very clean hospital and the nurses/staff in the OR were great.
Fantastic experience: Faith Mchargh, CNA took care of me like no other. She cared for, checked in on me, and spoiled me since day one because that's just her caring, attentive way. Some CNAs will let you know they're annoyed, but Faith will let you know she gently cares for you. She works hard and goes over and beyond what the average CNA does in a daily schedule. If I could take her home, I would. She uplifts you. Will hum a feel-good song and lend an ear. Out of the 15+ aides in 2 weeks that I met, she's #1! I'm grateful to them all: Juana who is always so cool and on top of things; Dyan, Joyce, Stepheney, Chevelle, and sweet Priscilla who has a lovely, bright smile and is always so helpful and lovable! Thank you all so very much!
Negative experience: This is no longer St Vincents that provided care for their patients and took pride in making people better. This facility is now Hartford Health a corporate run disaster that only cares about the end profit, not about the health of the patient. There are no longer physicians in this facility educated from this country. Hospitalists/PA's are responsible for patients and no one takes responsibility for anything. The only care comes from the nurses and CNA's. Basically this facility is 3rd World Healthcare .
Negative experience: Most of the “hospitalists” here really have no clue what they’re doing.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and will forward your concerns to the appropriate staff members. If there is anything more we should know a patient advocate would be happy to speak with you. If you need to reach us, you may email [email protected].
Fantastic experience: Only hospital I go to
Fantastic experience: Estuve de emergencia y me dieron un trato excelente, buenas atenciones y, resultados efectivos. Siempre trataré de ser paciente de este hospital cuando lo necesite.
Positive experience: They are very busy and long wait times, but if you have an appointment it really helps. Emergency is a very long wait up to 8 hours. Plan to be there all day.
Negative experience: I wiah i could give zero stars. Unless you want nurses and doctors who only care about themselves GO TO DIFFERENT HOSPITAL. Terrible terrible employees.

Negative experience: This hospital is beyond horrible they have people waiting hours in the emergency waiting area which is unacceptable people go to ER because it’s an emergency and they have people waiting for eons absolute ridiculous!. Don’t come here
Negative experience: I just do not appreciate the fact that I could not even visit my mother because of the age rule when i even had a birth certificate to prove that is my mother but i still could not visit her. god forbid she’s on her deathbed i can’t even visit my mother
Your feedback is sincerely appreciated, and will be forwarded to the appropriate staff members. We would like the opportunity to make this right. If you are willing, please contact a patient advocate either by email [email protected] or call 203-576-5164.
Negative experience: My mom had the worst experience I can’t believe they treated her like she’s wasn’t a human being I thought that they treated everyone equally I’m ashamed of this hospital and their staff

Negative experience: Awful experience at the ER. Dr. Patel said as she walked in the room that they can't help me I need an gynecologist which they have but I couldn't see him unless my blood count was way low. Will never go back to st Vincent's hospital

Negative experience: Won't be coming back. Bad experience. Been coming to this hospital since I was a child over 60 years had an appointment with the breast health center only to be told there was no appointment when I got there after driving over 45 minutes. Really upset.

Negative experience: This has to be the most unprofessional hospital I’ve been to. Came in having trouble breathing not once did they check up on me. I rather drive 30 minutes somewhere else than be back here.
Negative experience: Hospital staff places cones on ♿️ parking spaces for vallet parking. I confronted staff and even no it illegal they still Block the spaces. Employees with nice cars use ♿️ spaces.
Positive experience: They BEAT bridgeport hospital as it has become like a 3rd world hospital. They ran out of toilet paper never cleaned my bathroom and the day nurses were acting like it was a club scene. Bpt hospital THE WORSE!!!!
Negative experience: Horrible. Was waiting to get attended almost four hours even after coming in falling to the floor. Clearly my pain wasn’t taken seriously. Nurses are very rude and give unnecessary comments! Left before getting treated! Do not recommend.

Positive experience: My name is Madlene, back in June the 29th 2022 I hade a fusion back surgery and it was successful and I like to thank Dr. JOHN AWAD and Dr. PERRY CHEER for the fantastic job they’re have done , during my short stay in hospital I like to thank the hospital’s staff and nurses for the good care , but I have a couple notes , in the second day during the Night Shift I called the nurse to help me to go to the bathroom , she responded qweekly , but she didn’t remind me to ware the back brace , and when I am done I knocked on the bathroom door so she can help me get to my bed but she wasn’t there I kept knocking on the door for a good 2 minutes I was so tired and my legs were so weak I started calling her and ask for help entill finally came to me … and another note that the day of surgery in the first floor they asked me for my Covid vaccination card I hand it to the registration girl but I didn’t get it back , when I got home few days after I called the hospital asking for the card they didn’t find it . Any way St Vincent hospital still my favorite place for my health care .Thanks .
Negative experience: Horrible with timing take at Least 5 hours just to keep you in the waiting room all day feel like if it’s an emergency why are you guys taking your sweet ol time I understand it’s more people as well but no way for a whole day you guys have people waiting hours to get checked just to get checked but they are good at what they do just not timing at all and my grandfather is old he’s hurting they do not care
Negative experience: Security guard yelled at me for being in pain when I left. Dr prescribed me steroids and valium, on top of the naproxen and gabapentin I'm on for two pinched nerves in my back. The yelling was completely unnecessary.
Fantastic experience: Been here a week, only complaint is the FOOD (YUCK)!!! Had the BEST(BEST) nurse ever can't say enough good about this woman Versolo I hope that's how you spell her name!!!!
Negative experience: Horrible service especially for children. I “saved my spot,” online and was still seen after people who did not have appointments. My spot was not saved and it did not expedite service. It is a misleading and dishonest thing to advertise/promise to patients. If you can’t deliver on that it should not be advertised. Do better. I was referred here and now I know that the person who said this was a good hospital was mistaken.
Your feedback is sincerely appreciated, and will be forwarded to the appropriate staff members. If you have any additional concerns, please contact [email protected] at your convenience so we can work with you to make this right.
Negative experience: They don't deserve one star, the nurses out front are terrible, especially the night shift. My husband arrived with pain in his lungs, he could hardly breathe, 6 people passed in front of him and I was worried and I told a nurse that those people arrived later. He just laughed and said that they were worse than him. How is it possible for a "professional" to refer to such a lack of respect and ethics as a joke? The people who followed him did not look bad or had respiratory problems or anything serious. On top of that, the room they gave him doesn't even have a bed, very annoying, we have to take action on the matter the doctor its fine tha ots only good
Negative experience: It pains me to have to say that I am so displeased with the care my mother is receiving. It feels like nobody wants to be there. Nobody wants to speak with family members. I have never experienced such a low level of care in my life. And I have always had nothing but wonderful things to say about this hospital. the decline in my mother’s cognitive function over the last couple of days is very concerning. But it seems to be only concerning to me. I feel like I’m gonna lose my mind. I’m very frustrated I’m very upset and I’m very scared and I don’t seem to be getting any support or any answers from the doctors or the nurses. Just awful. I’m hoping that they can redeem themselves by the end of her stay. I’m not someone who likes to complain. I look for reasons to praise people. I have nothing to praise anyone about!!!

Negative experience: This place has a lot to be desired. I came to the ER because I thought my heart went back in to afib. I arrived by ambulance and was taken in to an area where they took my vitals. I was then put a n to the waiting room where is sat for 3.5hours a nurse saw me.After running additional tests they discovered yesterday had gall stones and pancreatitis.I was transferred to two different ER rooms for brill I got a private room Once I got to my room, I found the medical staff to be pleasant but they are extremely slow at responding to requests. I do not get straight answer’s from m them not are they even able to tell me how long or what time I’d be taken for my procedure. It’s controlled chaos. The next time I need Togo to the hospital I’m going to Norwalk
Fantastic experience: I was very happy with my daughter's care in the Emergency department/ER last week. Due to a rare disease, she requires immediate care and immediate treatment which was given to her and is not always the case in emergency department visits. Dr. DeLaRosa was knowledgeable about her condition and acted quickly which prevented further life threatening issues. Dr. Patel continued excellent care during the stay in the Emergency Department. We are grateful to both of them for their expertise and care.
Fantastic experience: My experience was different that many who have written before me. I went to St. Vincent's Emergency Center after having been to an urgent care facility. Urgent care sent me there, stating that I needed a CAT Scan (as the result of a fall), and stitches to close up a cut across my nose. From admittance to discharge (several hours later), the staff could not have been more professional and pleasant.
Positive experience: In general I am extremely happy with St Vincent’s. My wife is currently undergoing double mastectomy surgery followed by reconstructive surgery.. During a previous surgery at Hartford hospital I was never apprised of the status of my wife’s surgery, which led to me showing up at the front desk asking if my wife was dead! All of the staff at St Vincent’s assured me that I would get timely updates on her situation. I did not. I told them of the previous situation and when they finally called they stated “I didn’t want to overwhelm you with so many calls!” I told her she was wrong! She asked if the surgeon had already called me, with a tone of affirmation that she had. I said “no” Twenty minutes later the surgeon called. This lack of communication, especially when it has been reiterated on numerous occasions and happily confirmed by the staff is unacceptable. I am happy with the technical abilities of the surgical and nursing staff, but abhor their family manners.
Negative experience: I really had high hopes. I am 6 months pregnant and have be waiting for almost 5 hours and still haven’t been seen. I haven’t felt baby’s movement for over 24 hours and urgent care isn’t equipped for fetal monitoring. I decided to come to St. Vincent since my doc’s office is affiliated with this hospital. I also have had dizzy spells to the point of fainting with a terrible cough/ vomiting! They said there are no available rooms but this scares me. I am supposed to give birth here and since the care is absolutely not up to par, I have to figure out where I’ll give birth. Most likely opt in for a home birth since they closed their birthing center. this place makes you feel dehumanized. There’s no update on anything just a full on waiting game.

Negative experience: My mother is a patient there right now. Some of the nurses are so rude with an attitude towards family and my elderly mother. She is not one to complain even she feels like she can't ask for anything because of the attitude she receives. Example we asked her nurse for any info on my mothers condition her answer: I just came in I don't know anything and I am busy. Like are you kidding me you're her nurse look at her chart are you not supposed to look this stuff up if it's your patient. Poor women couldn't even get any water she asked 4x everyone leaves to get some then they disappear for hours. I know it's busy but this attitude they have needs to go. Have some patience and compassion for patients. It's truly sad.
Negative experience: I took my 8 years old today around 12am . I explained the nurse waiting area that it has been four days his fever did not break . After they took temperature which 103 . She said wait on waiting area we will be with you shortly . After 1 hour and 30min still we were sitting waiting area . I went back to her if you cat see my son soon I need to take him another hospital her answer was if you wish too. We left . I see no help they don’t care about sick kids . She didn’t even try to call some one or offer some help to help him on his fever . I can sits and see my son in pain .
Fantastic experience: My room was nice and clean the nurses would carry patient funny and always there very helpful I love send Vincent Hospital Excellent
Fantastic experience: After being brought in for emergency surgery in July 2015, I received fantastic care. Whether doctor, nurse, nurse's aid, meal & cleaning folks, EVERYONE treated me with dignity & the utmost care. I am very thankful for the team that brought me back to health. THANK YOU!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Lee Goldstein is a true gem to the wound care world but also to the hospital. His expertise and bed side manner is exactly what we needed. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: My buddy tripped leaving Van last night, he got a little banged up. We were in the emergency room till close to 3 am. The nurses, staff and Dr's were incredible, not only professional but showed concern and tried to lighten the damage. I do not ever want to go to the hospital, but I could hang with that staff. Ladies thank you so much
Fantastic experience: Outstanding experience with the entire staff at Gastroenterology outpatient.
Fantastic experience: Great hospital. Doctor's, nurse's and staff are professional, caring and competent.
Fantastic experience: I must say excellent service to this facility, the staff employees was very kind ,generous ,respectful and helpful I'm from NY and we don't get that kind of service so I just wanna say thank you st Vincent medical Center .I highly recommend this facility for all your medical needs 10 ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
Fantastic experience: My 90 year old mother was just there having a hip replacement. We were so pleased with the care she was given. Everyone was so competent and friendly. Big shout out to Andrew and Mildred on the 7th floor.
Fantastic experience: Buen trato
Negative experience: “Dr.David John Young is a piece of trash, no respect and just a horrible person

Negative experience: NO TIENEN POSTRES Y SUGAR FREE EN LA CAFETERIA NI VARIEDAD PARA LOS PACIENTES
Negative experience: My friend went to this hospital because she wasn’t feeling to good, she was waiting in the waiting room for a long time. She starting to get dizzy and she asked the workers for water but they didn’t give it to her and they just sent her back to the waiting room. Very unprofessional

Negative experience: - 4 hour wait at the ER on a Friday morning just to be seen by a PA who said I’d need to wait more to see a DR - Waiting room was dirty - Nurses talking about planning their Bahamas vacations and patient who went missing
Your feedback is sincerely appreciated, and will be forwarded to the appropriate staff members. If you have any additional concerns, please contact [email protected] at your convenience so we can work with you to make this right.
Negative experience: The wait for service is terrible. After a car crash I was sent to this hospital for a check up, ended up waiting for 5 hours for a scan and then another hour and a half to get the results. It is really unfortunate for the people in the area that do not have better options to address their urgent health needs
Negative experience: Gotten into a accident and my sister is pregnant and they rushed her to the hospital which she was in pain but they had her sitting down for 5 hours , this place is always so slow, you can be in pain and they will have you sitting there for a long time . She even told the desk that she's in pain but they showed no care and just let her sit back down . This place needs to pull themselves together cause it's a hospital !!!! She also left because she's been sitting for hours even tho she came in a ambulance ! Ended up going somewhere else and she got treated asap !!!

Negative experience: Mother was admitted after car accident. PA an Nurse treated her bad even heard then gossiping about her. When she was feeling pain a nurse said to her there is nothing wrong with you. Worst hospital !!!

Positive experience: Overall, my stay at St. V's was just fine. The part that got me was the cost of having an Occupational Therapist come in my room for about 2 minutes, have me to 2 things & charge my Insurance company about $800 for that. What a joke.
Positive experience: Grateful for a very kind staff and doctor. The wait is long as are most hospitals but, I felt very comfortable and looked after. A non traumatic experience!
Positive experience: Actually, my son's spine surgery is scheduled for about 3 weeks. I read the reviews and its either extremes. A pacient has certain responsibility too. Stay tune and I'll keep you updated.
Negative experience: My mother arrived at St. Vincent's Hospital around 8 p.m. after testing positive for COVID-19 on the 29th of November. It’s currently 1:14 and we’re in the waiting room at 1 a.m., and she hasn't been called. My mother, is having trouble breathing, coughing a lot, and has a fever. They've done nothing in the last few hours that we've been here. This hospital has left us very unhappy. We will not be coming here any more. Save yourself the trip and go to another hospital. This place is TERRIBLE

Negative experience: If I can give zero stars I would. My grandma recently passed away in the hospital with her wedding band that never came off because her fingers were swollen. Somehow after she passed away in the hospital one of the employees at Saint Vincents stole it so now we have no clue where her wedding band is. I would never do that to anyones family. Please find another hospital to go to I definitely don’t recommend this one. My heart is aching and I hope the person who stole her ring gets what they deserve.

Negative experience: In 2017 I came here bc I had a persistant sore throat. The Dr. prescribed me antibiotics and the instructions sheet said, "If you develop a rash or throat closes please return to receive care immediately" Well my throat swole up like a balloon. I could barely speak. When I returned to the hospital I pointed to the pharmacy instructions that said, "If rash or throat closes please return to receive care immediately." SINCE I COULDNT TALK. The lady at the front desk tells me, "I can't understand you. When you are ready to use your words you can come back and tell us whats wrong." So I was about to go sit down until I stopped breathing entirely. I was exhausted. But the lady behind the first lady that couldnt read, calls out," She's trying to tell you what's on the paper! Her throat is closing!!!" Now how did someone way in the back understand me, but the woman in the front couldnt be bothered to read the paper? I was exhausted too. I gave up. If that second receptionist didn't understand me I was going to sit in a chair and just give up on trying to breath. I wouldn't recommend this hospital unless you are ready to perish.

Negative experience: This hospital is a nightmare. They have treated my brother horribly. There is no excuse for unprofessional level of treatment that has been provided to him. He has been waiting to have emergency surgery for 24 hours and has not been allowed to eat or drink since Sunday night and it is now Tuesday at 4pm and his “emergency “ surgery has been postponed again. This is unacceptable.

Negative experience: My daughter needs to have her gallbladder removed, we have been waiting in a hospital room since 3:00am and she was told that her surgery is scheduled for 3pm; it's now 5:30pm and we are still waiting. Maybe I should have taken her to Bridgeport Hospital instead. At least the nurses won't have attitudes, hopefully, when asked questions.

Negative experience: My husband was placed in a quality orthopedic structure located inside St Vincent's Medical Center. The surgeon was good but the staff nurses were hit or miss. Some were responsive others were not. They gave my husband the wrong medication which inturn was repeated at the rehab/nursing home. (They blamed the hospital). This inspite of me giving the nurses a typed list of his meds and visiting him every day he was there.
