MedStar Health: Physical Therapy at Waverly

Fantastic experience: I have been using MedStar Waverly Physical Therapy following a total knee replacement. Two of the staff, Emilee and Ian, have been my primary therapists. Both have provided excellent exercises, information and lots of encouragement to get me through this difficult, painful recovery pushing me along at the right speed. Their support, encouragement and knowledge have been extremely beneficial to see me through this process. I am also impressed by the efficiency of the entire staff. Kudos to them.

Fantastic experience: I had appointments with two physical therapists and two physical therapy assistants here over the course of a few months. Everyone was attentive, thoughtful, and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: Therapists and techs were helpful with suggestions and explanations about exercises for specific conditions. The front desk was considerate and helpful. The only flaw was being able to speak to a live person if you had an emergency and had to call early to cancel/or reschedule.

No bullying or bashing here. Just the best therapy you can receive delivered by some of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Fantastic experience: I've had several opportunities to have physical therapy with the MedStar Union Memorial Physical Therapy team. With my most recent experience I clearly saw what great team-work is evident with these therapists. In order to accommodate MY scheduling needs, I saw different therapists with each weekly appointment. The transition from week to week was seamless & the care always excellent. I give these smart, competent, very pleasant and hard working therapists the highest rating and recommend them to anyone in need of physical therapy.

Fantastic experience: I had physical therapy for my chornically damaged lower back and a shoulder twice a week for six weeks. I cannot speak loudly enough about the degree of professionalism combined with personality I experienced with each of my therapists at MedStar: Physical Therapy at Waverly. Over the years I have been treated at several physical therapy facilities, including at sports medicine facilities, and the care I recieved at Waverly was on par with or better than other treatemnt facilities. I highly recommend Waverly for anyone in need of physical therapy.

Fantastic experience: I love coming here for Therapy! Everyone is so welcoming even the young lady at the front desk, she acknowledges me by name which i think is impressive. Kind of makes me feel like family. Everyone is caring, attentive, gentle, friendly, and understanding. Great atmosphere. So far I had Paul and Alyssa and BOTH are awesome. Paul has a great aura about him. Alyssa gives nice conversation she's so sweet. It's nothing bad to say about this establishment. One thing I can say is they do push you (not in a bad way) but in a way to get you better and I love that because it helps me push myself.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to get back to running but was having excruciating pain in my calves. Went to Dr. Kindschi at Union Memorial and she sent me to MedStar Health Physical Therapy at Waverly. The treatments I've been receiving have been a huge help and a month or so in I'm definitely seeing positive results. Last time I went for a run, the day after a dry needling treatment, I was almost pain free! The staff is great -- friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and good with their craft. I hope to never need PT again but if I do I'm heading right back here. Dan

Fantastic experience: I came here both before and after a surgery and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Everyone here is so supportive and knowledgeable and I was particularly lucky to be seeing Derek and Jenifer. The facility is in a YMCA so you have all of the PT tools as well as a gym to ease you back into an exercise environment after an injury (bonus: there's always parking and it's safe). I genuinely felt like the people here cared if I met my goals or not and that made all the difference in the world. I looked forward to my appointments every week and am going to miss everyone! Scheduling is super easy because there are so many fantastic therapists here and front desk made sure everything with my insurance went through. Stop shopping around for a great PT and call to see these guys!

Fantastic experience: I was in a car accident a year and a half ago resulting in multiple injuries. After ACL surgery and multiple disk ailments, Physical Therapist Derek Xi has been an absolute blessing! From the check-in staff to the hands-on therapists, I feel heard, respected and valued when I am MedStar PT at Waverly. Derek is tough in all the right ways and knows just how to get your body back to where it should be! I literally look forward to physical therapy, seeing the friendly faces and receiving the individualized treatment. I cannot rave about Derek and his team enough, 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!

Fantastic experience: I've gone to them twice: once when I had plantar fasciitis and another time when I was dealing with a strain to my inner thigh muscles. The way they treat patients is exemplary. I also learned A LOT about how to better prepare my body for the demands I put on it (in my case, soccer, but there are patients that come in for all sorts of things like rehab from accidents, surgery, etc.) I actually looked forward to my appointments to learn more exercises and get better. Highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I am very pleased with the care that I receive at Medstar Health Physical Therapy at Waverly. Diane Dallap-Phillips is an excellent diagnostician and clinician! She really cares about my treatment and progress. She uses traditional and innovative methods and technologies to ensure that I get the best results. Diane is always pleasant, and the treatment is never rushed. I was experiencing intense pain and limited mobility after a sports injury, and after a few weeks of treatment, I am walking without pain and working out again! I highly recommend Diane and the team at Waverly!!

Fantastic experience: The staff at MedStar Physical Therapy are wonderful. They are amiable, courteous, professional, and committed to making the process and experience as comfortable and pain free as possible. They will push you to your level best in sessions and they thoroughly explain what might be causing your symptoms. They are very patient, friendly, kind, and they make it their business to know your name. Derek Xie has been my primary therapist and he is very knowledgeable. Diane is a great certified dry needler. The receptionist, Ryan, is awesome and Brooke is a phenomenal therapist. I worked with Bob, too. They are all wonderful folks. If you can go here and do your therapy, do it! You won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: Medstar Physical Therapy @ Waverly is great. I love the location and the therapists there are wonderful. Derek is my therapist and he is a God-sent. He helped me understand my injury and assured me that with the proper therapy, I will eventually walk again without the boot.
