Burbank Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center: Reviews
Negative experience: A complete HELL HOLE!!!! The help is horrible!!!!
Negative experience: People work very hard here particulrly the PT dept. but the place as a whole needs improvement. The food is the antithesis of everything That I know is healthy....high frustose corn syrup heaven best describes it. Also, they need more insulation to block the screams at night. I have never been so happy to get out of anyplace as there.
Negative experience: This place is a hellscape. I’m letting my dad spend tonight and tonight only here. Because it’s going to take me until morning to set up a hospital bed in our home. I do not understand how this place is allowed to operate. My dad is one of six people in a “room.” Which is really more like the end of the hallway. They have one crowded filthy bathroom. And in the three hours that we were there, nobody helped him come toilet. Which is the entire reason why he’s there. I do not understand how this could in anyway be considered adequate care. I hate to think how much Medicare will be charged for this single night. The people who were here are nice, and I’m sure our paid the barest minimum, And have an impossible amount of patients to help
Positive experience: Attentive caring staff. kind efficient. Many of the men patients are unfriendly even hostile or disrespectful to each other. Elderly women patients nice. Some the men patients are not.
Fantastic experience: This facility is fine. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. It's the same as every hospital I've been in. The food is identical to every hospital I've been in. I would definitely recommend it to my own family as more affordable and all main hospital protocols are meticulously observed.
Negative experience: Awful place!!! Do not take your love one there. They will pull all insurance money and dump the patient to the hospital almost dead. My mom stayed in this “ rehab. center” 1.5 month. She was healthy, went for rehabilitation after flu, and during that period she got sepsis. They did not inform family members and hold her hostage, until all organs start to shut down, and almost dead transfer her to emergency room St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank. Which another trap for patients, pulling the rest of insurance money for fake treatments to finishing death sentence, and morgue. She died there very shortly
Fantastic experience: The facility for the patient care seems good at this center. The team seems professional and attentive to the needs of each individual.
Fantastic experience: Burbank Rehab Nursing Home? Total 5-star spot! Staff's super chill and caring, place is spotless. They really know their stuff, making rehab feel like a breeze. Plus, the food's pretty dope too! Def recommend!
Fantastic experience: Whenever I had a concern or needed assistance, the staff was quick to respond and always helpful, making me feel well-cared-for.
Fantastic experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot express enough how exceptional my experience has been at Burbank Rehabilitation Center. From the moment I walked in, I felt the warmth and care from the entire staff. The nurses and caregivers are not just highly skilled but also compassionate. They went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and aid in my recovery. The facility is impeccably clean, and safety measures are diligently followed. The therapy team deserves special mention for their dedication. Their expertise and encouragement motivated me every day. They tailored my rehabilitation program to my specific needs, which I believe accelerated my recovery. I want to extend my gratitude to the entire Burbank team for making a challenging time in my life so much more manageable. This center truly defines excellence in healthcare, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in need of rehabilitation services. Thank you, Burbank Rehabilitation Center, for your unwavering support and exceptional care!
Negative experience: THIS PLACE DOESNT EVEN DESERVE A 1 star THIS PLACE WAS SO BAD MY GRANDFATHER CALLED ME CRYING AND HE SAID HE WOULD CALL 911 if we didn’t move him good thing we moved him to DRIERS
Fantastic experience: My name is joanne Mcculloch this facility was amazing and provided me good medical care ,Good nurses and excellent food.
Negative experience: My grandmother came here after she had surgery to mend her broken hip, and this place is an absolute joke. She had severe COPD, was down to one functioning lung, needed to be on oxygen during the day, and had a Bi-pap while sleeping. They would never put the bi-pap on her when it was time to go to bed as they simply would forget, and it was too far away for her to reach. This place never checked on her. They also never changed her diapers, which caused her to develop a very bad rash. There is a button in the room that the patients press when they need their diapers changed. My grandma would press it when she needed a change, and they almost never would come and assist her. Once she developed a rash from the lack of changing, one of the workers yelled at her because she wasn’t informing them that she needed a change. My grandmother was completely able to speak with them regarding such a topic, but they simply would never come into the room. They didn't even know how to put the oxygen tube in her machine, which I figured out in 5 minutes. My grandma went without her oxygen for 2 whole DAYS because of that. To say we were livid would be an understatement. One of the (better) workers even said that they tend to get lazy and won't check on them as much as they should. They keep the soiled laundry and dirty diaper trash bags right outside of the room which made the whole place smell horrible. Please, if you have a choice, do not bring your loved one here... She could not wait to get out of this facility and would cry tears of joy whenever we would visit her. A week after she got released from the center, she developed pneumonia and unfortunately passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital 3 days after being admitted. The number of phone calls we received from this facility trying to get ahold of her 2+ years AFTER her death was ridiculous. We sounded like broken records reminding them that she had passed.
Fantastic experience: This place is fantastic. I am here rehabilitating from a hip replacement. The staff, from the nurses, to the nursing assistants, to the physical and occupational therapists to the admissions staff and the social services staff are all really top notch. To a person, they are professionally highly competent and very warm, caring and kind. I have been here almost 2 weeks and I feel totally taken care of and I'm very happy with my stay. Moreover, the warm and caring environment created by the staff definitely aids in the healing process. I highly recommend Burbank Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Negative experience: HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience to ever put your loved one in. Staff talking about their patients to one another as the patient is in front of them listening. Rooms are dirty. Food smelled and looked nasty. Patients wait over an hour to be cleaned by staff and are sitting in their feces, causing patients to have severe rash. Physical therapy is delayed, doctors don’t seem to put in orders for patients to get blood work done on time, patients are supposed to shower twice a week and our loved one wasn’t showered all week or gotten her teeth brushed. I am so thankful for Liesure Glen Rehab in Glendale, Ca. For excepting our loved one so quickly and saving her from this DUMP, NASTY, HORRIBLE place. I’d give ZERO stars to Burbank rehab if I can. DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!
Negative experience: Very very very bad, dirty, moldy, it was like I entered to the mental rehabilitation center, All two nights I was there couldn’t sleep people were yelling screaming …as soon as I walked in they offered diaper which I refused and they didn’t like it, there is much much more I seen and heard from couple of patients, it was definitely disaster. Took some pictures and I left that place willingly. Bad disgusting place.
Negative experience: This place is a dump!!! Do not put your loved ones in this dump! My dad was getting over pneumonia when he went there. We told them the antibiotics that he was on didn't work for him. Within a few days he got worse. It was a Friday and they wanted to wait until Monday to contact the doctor. He was having labored breathing. I told them no way! Call the ambulance and have him taken to the ED. When my dad got to the ED his pulse ox was low. He also had bed sore infections. Mind you he was only there for 4-5 days.
Positive experience: Great staff.for rehabilitation
Fantastic experience: Lovely, friendly pace. Hard-working staff. Administration really cares. Tell your loved ones to come here!
Fantastic experience: Very professional, friendly staff. The teams are prompt and caring. I highly recommend Burbank rehab.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful facility for your rehabilitation. Very nice, clean environment. The members and staff are wonderful, it feels like a true happy family here!!
Fantastic experience: Fabulous, hardworking people here. No one will care for your loved one better. Also- beautiful, clean facility. Thank you for all of your hard work!!
Fantastic experience: Great place to bring your loved ones. . The staff are amazing. The physicians spend time to listen and address your concerns. An overall 5 Star experience.
Negative experience: It's basically a death factory, staffed with sadistic, incompetent workers.
Negative experience: Your always waiting with appts not cool
Negative experience: Horrible treatment
Negative experience: Never go here I was placed there today for rehabilitation I was there for about five minutes it smelled like feces it looked completely disorganized it was dirty filthy and I didn’t wanna stay within five minutes I got up and headed for the door the receptionist at the door held me back grabbed me would not let me leave the building I’m sorry but this is America if I wanna leave I’m gonna leave worst place they finally realized that I wasn’t gonna stay they let me sign out and I left I took a Lyft to my friends house I wouldn’t recommend this place for animals much less people
Negative experience: I don’t know about the facility it’s self yet, but I am writing this review for the simple reason that if you are in nursing, we need to adhere in proving the best care for ANY that we become care takers for, otherwise you are not abiding by any of the protocols, guidelines implemented upon your establishment in caring for patients. Today, I went to the bank on SF Road and Burbank, and upon entering it, I could smell a strong foul offensive oder of urine. As I approached the end of the I scanned around and saw an elderly woman with a caretaker already being helped by a teller. I saw that this woman was able to stand, and her vacant w/c had a pillow with urine stains. I felt nauseous and wanted to get sick, then comes a man to stand in line, and I could hear him sniff and look at me, at which point I needed to let him know it was not me, but to look at the w/c. . Both of us along with other patrons of the bank were wondering how can anyone just allow a person smell so bad, This person is obviously gravely disabled and is unable to care for herself, so she must be encouraged to shower, and/or negotiate to do this for going out to the bank. Just don’t negotiate for her basic needs such as food or medical assistance. Her care give has obviously seems to have established a good relationship with her, now is the time to use the leverage of outings with her. I hope that during her absence at the facility where she is from, they were able to clean her room.
Fantastic experience: Great employees, kind and warmth. Good job!
Fantastic experience: Olga so worker at station 2 Very h elpful
Fantastic experience: EXCELLENT FACILITY FOR PPL WITH COVID-19 CONCERNS!!! I found the staff anxious to assist me personally with ANY/ALL concerns with my Mother-in-law, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!! Bad reviews are from ex employees and are Not Consistent with my recent experiences with this facility in any way!!
Negative experience: By far the worst experience I've ever had. My mother was there for rehab and was never dressed, sat in soiled bedding, was over medicated to a point of hallucinations, money was taken from her wallet. No responses from any nursing staff or administration. Was given misinformation about their COVID stats. I finally had to have her transferred to another rehab. I am filing a formal complaint with the LA County Board of Health and the State Board of Health. DO NOT GO THERE OR SEND YOUR LOVED ONE THERE. I only put one star so I could post this review.
Negative experience: Horrible communication. We found out my mother-in-law was at the facility when we got a voicemail the residents were tested for covid and although there was one positive it was not her. After numerous phone calls consisting of hang ups, being placed on hold and wrong transfers we managed to talk directly with her for update on why she was there. Fast forward. Multiple staff gave contradictory information on her fractures. It seems left elbow was fractured but she had only soft cast that was removed while she was there. On discharge to board and care transport was very late and at one point my husband was called asking where was he she was waiting. A real nightmare. Staff may be new, not properly trained , exhausted or just do not care. We could not even get to look at copies of x-rays. Also after she was attended to at the board and care open sores were found on her. We wonder did she ever get a bath during the time she was at the rehab. Center. They should have been found
Fantastic experience: Great rehab center, very skilled , kind and knowladgable nurses, pt, cna and staff, thanks and God bless all.

Negative experience: I can't believe this place is still around. You'd think after all the negligence and deaths they have caused someone would lock the doors. So sad to see nothing has happened. If you want to kill literally your family member, look no further. Send them here...they'll take of it for you. Their neglicence killed my dad 4 years ago...I still can't forget it. I was reading reviews....yes all the negative reviews are valid. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from this facility. I called to ask what happened to my dad the woman hang up on me as if I had no right to ask questions. Hospital nurse and doctors told me ...someone did something wrong in that facility as we sent him in a very stable condition there. They messed up with his catater and caused him infection and bleeding and killed my dad. They never responded to my phone call as to them I was digging dirt. OMG...can't believe you people are still open.....Hope what you have done to these poor people who died comes and bites you someday
Negative experience: This place is the worst place to take a loved one. They will place a patient in their wheel chair and face them to a wall. I hear patients calling for help and no one will go and assist. They refuse to give the patients their proper medication. Will neglect the patient health and will not call the ambulance on their request. I know thru experience, because that is how they treated my mother. I regret thanking her there. So please save your loved one from abuse and neglect and don't take them there.
Positive experience: Clean employees very kind and courteous
Negative experience: Terrible terrible terrible ... this place is overall bad. Old building with careless staffing.
Negative experience: Some staff members over there have no professional manners. Most of the time when they come to work it is like they are ready to fight within themselves and to each other. Starting from the office to the housekeeping services, all of them need courtesy training and let them know that they are working in a rehab facility that's dealing with patients who need their help and support to get back up on their feet. They need to know the truth and this is the reason why I can only give them 1 star. To all family members make sure that your beloved one are well taking care of there because that place will fake it for you to believe it. Beware and be careful!
Negative experience: My father in law is staying here as i comment here . . His necklace was STOLEN!!! Off his neck he is unable to comprehend anything or talk so he is unable to tell us who. This is absurd , his mother gave that to him before she died. Also the man in the neighboring room has also gone through this , they have stolen his wedding ring. this is a out rage ! And they say they can't do anything about it. ABSURD !!!!! I o ly gave it one star so i can leave a comment , they get no stars in my book.
Fantastic experience: My mother recently spent 3 weeks at this facility. These people do an outstanding job under tough conditions. My mother's caregivers were caring and efficient. Sure, sometimes things are out of their control, but overall, day in and day out, they were wonderful and kind and caring towards my 91 year old mother, and managed to rehabilitate her after a fall, and get her back home. God bless them, they ROCK.
Negative experience: I live down the street from this facility and I definitely would not use it! I moved here over 5 years ago and I see the type of people they employ and I would not trust any of them to care for my loved ones. They do not provide employee parking in their lot and as a result they all race around our neighborhood taking up all of our street parking. We have all called and complained to the rehab but of course nothing has been done about it. Their workers sit outside in their cars and smoke, listen to loud music like they are having a party while loitering by their cars, eat their lunch and toss the trash in the street, change their clothes in full view, the list goes on and on. Today is Memorial Day and most of us have the day off. One of their employees in a red vw bug came down our street at 6:30 in the morning playing her Mexican music so loud it woke everyone up. One of my neighbor's came out in her robe and told her to turn it down. So in a little nut shell this is the quality of the staff that is supposed to be caring for your family members. And they also have a constanct flow of interns that are even worse.
Negative experience: My dear friend was in this facility after a fall which broke her femur. I visited with my friend regularly during the month she stayed there. I can only say I was thankful that for the most part my friend was healthy and on the younger side, compared to most of the patients. If she had to rely on the staff to really take care of her, I am certain her outcome would have been less than satisfactory. While the Physical Therapy team in general were energetic, knowledgeable, and positive thinking, the nurses on the floor were "not there"!! They seemed to turn a blind eye to patients in need. They permitted patients to scream for help in agonizing tones for more than 15 minutes straight. They let some patients who could not walk, pull themselves out of their beds using a bedtable, then push their way down the hall while they screamed for a "NURSE". Everyone in the near rooms were horrified and upset by this screaming. They let a man in a wheelchair repeatedly push his way out a door to the outside, rather than stop him because most of the nursing staff were afraid of the man. He was aggressive and would kick, punch and scratch those who tried to stop him. This was a repeated occurrence. They all would stand and watch him head toward the door so they could get a laugh by it. There are patients who don't speak English. Rather than be sure to have a person available or some way to be certain they understand these patients, they allow this inability to communicate become a battle or tears and screaming. There are clearly ways to head off problems of this nature before they happen but this facility seems to not care for some reason. The Food, OMG the FOOD! This place needs a food service professional running that department. I mean this food was so much worse than any institutional food I have ever seen. And yes I tasted it. IT was awful. Every patient in the place lost weight including my friend. Even though I brought food in for my friend, she was so turned off by the smell of the place, she just didn't have an appetite. All in all, aside from a really grand Physical Therapy team, this place needs to be "torn down and rebuilt". Not the building of course but their practices and principles. No one wants to see their loved ones waste away in this place, from what I could see. I am thankful my friend is out of there.
Negative experience: Horrible place to place your loved ones. Staff do not care, no diapers available unless a supervisor approves and that takes hours. On top everything else wrong medications given upon discharge. If I could rate them lower than 1 star, I would.
