EXCEPTIONAL care. It hasn’t been since the 80s I’ve found a physical therapy office that is so complete and concise. It’s like a dream come true! Dr.Ashkan Ashkani and his entire team of physical therapists are very specific, and work with the patient to make sure that there is progress both at your sessions and outside of your appointments. In a world where Insurance carriers simply do not typically have effective physical therapy offices on their lists to chose from anymore, this office was an incredible find for me because I have not had my injuries treated by physical therapists before as complete as it is now. . I’ve been getting care for not just my knees, but an education on how everything everything is deeply connected. When I’m not at my appointments, I’m given very specific exercises to help strengthen the weaker muscles around the damaged joint so that this can help in recovery. Though the progress is slow, it is definitely effective, and if there are setbacks, you are strongly encouraged to keep going. I cannot recommend this physical therapy office highly enough, what they do at this office used to be the standard many years ago. It is nice to find a brilliant young doctor, and team, who truly cares about the patients and make sure they’re inspired to see progress for a healthy recovery and life. added bonus is that if you’re Latino, Persian, English, or probably a couple of other languages I’m not even realizing that they speak. You will be able to communicate easily here with the staff. They do take Motion Picture Insurance which is what I have so I recommend California Rehabilitation and Health Therapy to everyone in the entertainment industry who is looking for a great physical therapist. This is the office. (Note: when you go in the building, be sure to use the elevator and push #1 because in actuality, you’re on the ground floor and you need to go to the floor which is called floor #1, although that is technically floor #2.)

My experiences at California Hand Therapy have been nothing but positive. To having Miriam the receptionist greet you and handle the logistics of your visit to the excellent care provided by Marlene and Dr Ashkan Ashkani everything is A++The atmosphere is friendly and warm. My PT sessions with Dr Askani are thoughtful and thorough and I always leave feeling somewhat better!

Thanks to direct access, we can see any patient without a referral from a doctor for an initial evaluation. If our therapists believe that physical therapy is a good option for your needs, we can work with you and your physician to obtain a prescription for continued care. If your diagnosis requires additional expertise, we can also refer you to a specialist to handle your care.

Please wear or bring comfortable athletic/workout clothing to change into. This includes shorts or sweatpants, a t-shirt and sneakers. Your attire should also allow easy access to your injured area for treatment by your physical therapist.

The frequency of your treatment will depend on your physician’s prescription and the plan of care developed by your physical therapist. Most patients require treatment two to three times per week. The duration of treatment will depend on your injury and personal progress. Your physical therapist will discuss this with you following your initial exam and subsequently as you progress.

If you are unable to attend an appointment, we require at least 24 hours' notice. However, we do understand than an occasional emergency or illness may arise, in which case you may have to cancel your appointment closer to your scheduled time.

We accept most major insurances including Medicare, Tricare and workers’ compensation plans. Before your initial visit, we will verify in and out of network benefits with your insurance company. The cost of therapy is determined by the benefits of your insurance plan, including the deductible and co-pay, or patient percentage. We are happy to check with your insurance company to determine the terms of your coverage. Payment for patient responsibility is due at the time of service.
