Welcome to Nashville Physical Therapy & Performance, where we keep active people active. No referrals necessary.
As physical therapists we not only treat you when you have an injury, but also go a step further, working to fix things before they cause you to have to stop doing what you love.
Our tailored services were recently recognized as a Finalist in Best Physical Therapy in Nashville by The Tennessean and Won Best Physical Therapist in the Nashville Fit Magazine
Someone who takes the necessary time to really listen to and understand us. Someone who educates us on how to manage our condition independently with minimal medical intervention but primarily with diet, exercise, and mindfulness. Someone who serves as a resource we can trust and reach out to when needed.
All sessions are entirely one on one with your physical therapist, tailored specifically to you. We believe in establishing close relationships with our patients. We do not believe in cookie cutter PT, overlapping sessions, or having an assistant or tech work with you during your session.
Consumer driven healthcare is the future of healthcare. It puts you in the driver’s seat as an active participant in making decisions that ultimately determine your future health and well-being. We strive to empower you to understand your condition fully so that we can work together as a team to accomplish your goals.
Your vehicle requires regular maintenance. Guess what? So do you. Don’t wait until you have “engine failure” to seek care. Waiting until you have a full-blown injury is costly and requires a significant amount of healthcare services and time lost doing your favorite things. We believe that everyone needs to get regular physical “tune-ups” to keep their body operating as it should.
Our therapists have gone beyond their normal doctorate level education to pursue specialized training in orthopedics, manual therapy, dry needling, spine intervention, and activity specific exercise.
Nashville Physical Therapy & Performance: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I'm a weekend warrior and getting older, and had some of the worst knee pain of my life walking down a hill with some camping gear. Yes, you got it: I walked down a hill with some weight. I went to an orthopedic doctor who referred me to PT. I saw Brittany Hendrickson a few times, and she gave me excellent guidance, practical exercises, and helped me connect with my body in ways I was so surprised to discover in my midlife (in some ways, it was like learning to walk for the first time). And I was able to take two significant trips with hiking (Banff and Korea) with NO KNEE PAIN. So from walking down a hill and injuring myself, to two international trips and miles and miles of walking (and climbing) with no injuries. PT made this possible. Every body is different, but I put an average of 15 min. a day into discovering whole-body, increased well-being by participating in this helpful therapy. Thank you Brittany, and thank you Nashville Physical Therapy & Performance!
Fantastic experience: I can’t complement this physical therapy facility and therapist enough. I have had numerous chiropractors and physical therapist and massage Therapist work on me over the years and Gina is definitely the best. She has an ability to focus in on the problem that is a natural gift. If you have a problem that requires therapy, I can say Unequivocally she will help you.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Bandy helped discover what was wrong with my hamstring, and got me back on the ice. She gave me excercises to do at home in between appointments, and was very helpful! Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: One of the best physical therapist's I have ever been to! (I have been to many). They are out of network for me but was still more than worth it. Sara worked with me on anything I needed and went my pace. I was there to work on my hip mobility but then had kidney surgery (unrelated) and she helped me so much gently work on recovery - both stiffness from lack of movement and ab muscles that were cut and healing. I would not only recommend this place, I would recommend you go nowhere else!!
Fantastic experience: The physical therapists were wonderful! They took the time to understand my needs and develop a recovery plan that quickly had me back to 100%. Would definitely return any time I have physical therapy or general wellness needs.
Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about how wonderful Sara is! After dealing with a nagging hip issue for a couple years, I took to searching for other relief options & came across dry needling. From there my search led me to Nashville Physical Therapy and Performance. There are many convenient locations and hours to choose from, which is great for my ever changing schedule. My first meeting with Sara, she listened as I explained the issues I was having, led me through stretches to check mobility and talked me through the areas of my discomfort, what she believed was happening, and options to help me feel better. When I say I left my first appointment with Sara feeling better then I have in YEARS! I was beyond thankful for finding her! We have since been working through a routine care plan of in office stretches, cupping and dry needling as well as at home stretches. My hip pain is much more tolerable then it has been in years. Sara is extremely knowledgeable, easy to talk to and I look forward to seeing her for our sessions. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with her!
Fantastic experience: Sarah was amazing, she really listens to your issues, asks plenty of follow up questions and she is very knowledgeable. She uses both dry needling and cupping to help me mobilize my hip and I felt the difference after just the first visit. The exercises she prescribed me helped create the stability I needed and after just 2 weeks I could tell my balance had improved. This is my go to PT from now on!
Fantastic experience: Sara is fantastic! I decided I needed a more personalized plan after my knee surgery because I was struggling to bounce back. I've accomplished more in 3 sessions with Nashville PT than I did with over 20 sessions with a different group. Sara didn't just focus on my knee but did an overall assessment to see if there were other issues contributing to my issues. Wish I had started with them right away!

Fantastic experience: Brittany was amazing! She helped me to get back to normal from shoulder tendinitis in a short period of time. She is thorough with the treatment plan, and very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her!!
Fantastic experience: TLDR: Amazing and worth every penny! Gina is one of the most caring and understanding human beings I have ever met!! She is very thorough in her consultation to ensure that she understands what you are going through and what you need. I was born with a physical deformity which makes physical therapy challenging, and Gina has done an incredible job working around this to help me heal. She is an amazing listener and takes the time to get to know you. If it wasn’t for her, I would still be in an immense amount of pain. I had great results after our first session together, and it just keeps getting better. If you are hesitant to reach out, this is your sign. 1,000/10!
Fantastic experience: I went to physical therapy for the first time in my life a few months ago with a shoulder injury. I saw Gina every couple of weeks for several months and she was able to help me get rid of the pain and customize a therapy program to get me back to where I was before. She was amazing and I would highly recommend Nashville Physical Therapy!
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with Brittany at the South Nashville location. Brittany was incredibly helpful in working with me to rehabilitate a painful shoulder injury. Through home exercise, dry needling, and hands-on therapy I felt much better! I will certainly revisit Nashville PT for any future injuries!
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this place for all your PT needs!! Gina was so great and very knowledgeable! I am a distance runner with some weakness in lots of areas. She helped using various techniques like massage, dry needling and proper strengthening exercises to keep me moving forward. She never tried to tell me to stop running. She was always willing to "fix me" and help me achieve my running goals. This year I was able to run 2 50k trail races and my first 50 mile race!! I truly believe if it weren't for her help, I would not have been able to accomplish this! I have so much knowledge now about my body and what it needs to keep going. So grateful for Nashville Physical Therapy and Performance!
Fantastic experience: I have seen Brittany for a year or two now and she is hands down the best!! I box and am also a Deep Tissue Massage Therapist, so am very hard on my body!! She always puts me back together!! She has the best team in town and they are a different kind of PT group. They don’t expect you to stop doing the things you love, they find and fix the issues, so you can keep doing what you love!!!
Fantastic experience: Gina Stefanov is a miracle worker! I was so skeptical to try physical therapy as a cost cutter so I thought I'd just manage the pain, but ultimately was convinced after my first visit with Gina, that finding my muscular deficits was a pathway to a stronger, pain free permanent lifestyle. I highly recommend her, and her team to anyone on the fence. I feel better than ever, and graduated out of it due to implementing her recommendations into my daily routine.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Nashville Physical Therapy & Performance! Due to rock climbing accidents and surgeries, I've visited a few times over the past couple of years and have received excellent care that got me back to the active lifestyle I enjoy. Visits are one-on-one with very personalized care. My at-home rehab exercises were personalized to strengthen me for my particular sport. In addition to the general rehab of injuries, Brittany identified other areas to strengthen and prevent future injuries.
Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Brittany and Nashville Physical Therapy enough. Not only did they help me recover and become stronger after a recent injury, Brittany also helped me track back my movement patterns and weaknesses that led to the injury in the first place. Life changing! You will get specialized care that goes above and beyond in actually listening and working with you to keep you active and doing what you love. So much gratitude for Brittany and her team!
Fantastic experience: I had a knee scope/surgery in early March, just before the safer at home orders were put in place. I wanted to do physical therapy to accelerate my recovery and have worked with Brittany on two prior occasions. My only option this time around was to do virtual PT sessions and I was not sure what to expect. It actually was very easy, if not more convenient in some ways to stop work and login to my video appointment. I felt like I received the same high standard of care virtually that I have in the past when I have been in person. I would certainly recommend this and of course Brittany and Nashville Physical Therapy to others.
Fantastic experience: Brittany cares about her patients which was very evident from my first visit. She will spend the time and effort needed to help her patients get back to feeling well. She explains everything in easy to understand terms and is highly encouraging all along the way. I highly recommend Brittany and the team at Nashville Physical Therapy & Performance!
Fantastic experience: Gina Stefanov is an incredible physical therapist that has helped me get through some trying back & wrist issues. She’s always incredibly professional & listens to what I’m trying to tell her is happening. Then she gives me actionable exercises to try to help alleviate the problems. She’s incredibly intelligent & her knowledge of the body, joints, muscles & skeletal system is amazing. I always feel better after leaving an appointment. I’d highly recommend her to anyone dealing with any issues & not wanting to immediately go to surgery or medicine.
Fantastic experience: Brittany is an amazing therapist. I met with her for about 6 weeks for my shoulder which had been hurt climbing, she not only gave me an excellent routine to get it back to normal but also coached me on how to climb with good technique to prevent future injuries. After getting my shoulder back on track we met for my lower back pain caused by a previous injury that made my leg go numb when lying down. Turns out she is very knowledgeable about nerve problems as well and has helped ease my symptoms significantly. By far the most helpful and personable physical therapist that I have ever seen.
Fantastic experience: I saw Brittany for a shoulder issue I had related to climbing, and she exceeded my expectations. She identified the issue and laid out an exercise plan to help strengthen my shoulder and prevent further injury. She listened very well and was open to any questions I had. I will use her again if I have another issue, and I would recommend her if you are looking to address any injuries.
Fantastic experience: Brittany is a lovely therapist, and I’ve been to quite a few. She’s patient, personable, explains things well, and definitely takes your thoughts and feelings into consideration. As a personal trainer I am very picky with who I recommend to my clients, but I have no hesitation recommending Brittany.
Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Brittany enough! She really takes the time to listen and figures out the best plan for you. She got my knee back in shape so I could continue working out without getting injured. If you’ve tweaked something don’t wait for it to get worse, go see her before it turns into something major. Almost 4 months later my knee is feeling amazing and I’m injury free!
Fantastic experience: I went to Brittany being very skeptical of Physical Therapy. I had injured my hands from climbing and was getting upset that my recovery time kept getting longer and longer, eventually resulting in a pulled tendon. The fact that in our first visit she talked me through a plan, that had an end goal, was amazing. I'm so used to Massage Therapists or Chiropractors, where you don't actually get better, you just have to come in for the rest of your life. I went in, I worked hard, I got better. I have the tools to keep myself in good shape and I understand what I need to do to take care of myself moving forward. I can never ask more than that. Thank you Brittany.
Fantastic experience: I took up rock climbing in late December 2018 and after about six weeks or so I was experiencing a significant amount of pain in my bicep area. I'm fairly active and also enjoy some moderate weight training and swimming and the pain had reached a point where I wasn't able to do either of those activities any longer. I found Brittany through her office at the Crag, set up an appointment and started meeting with her. She quickly assessed where the pain was and why it was happening and set up a program to help me heal, strengthen my body, and improve my technique so I could continue to progress as a novice climber. I 'm happy to say after a reasonably short time, I'm healed and able to swim, climb, and lift without any residual pain. Brittany was fantastic...I'd recommend her to anyone who finds themselves in my circumstance...she's friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Don't hesitate to reach out and set up an appointment.
Fantastic experience: I went to Nashville Physical Therapy for a couple of different problems. Brittany took time to listen and figure out evolving, curated programs for me to do to heal my body and keep me climbing strong. I appreciate that they want to educate, heal, and get you back feeling 100%.
Fantastic experience: TLDR: Brittany is a life saver! She is very friendly and helped me get back to my active lifestyle even through multiple issues. Long Version: I saw Brittany during my pregnancy for help with SPD pain. Then again post-partum for diastasis recti and some upper back pain from breastfeeding. While I was being treated for the post-partum issues I sustained a forearm injury while rock-climbing. She was able to pinpoint the injury and treat it without me needing to entirely give up on rock climbing. (Although, I did have to modify a bit). She was able to continue to treat my other stuff simultaneously without needing additional appointments. (Which as a new mom, I greatly appreciate) After my forearm healed, I sustained a new injury in my shoulder (while climbing again). Brittany again helped me by pinpointing the exact muscle involved and targeting it with specific exercises and physical manipulation. Throughout all of my treatments, Brittany was very friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly: she listened to me and worked with me to help me reach my goals of getting back to rock climbing.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend working with Christi. She has recently treated chronic injuries in my low back and knee and I felt a significant improvement in both after just one visit! Because of the way patients are scheduled at Nashville Physical Therapy & Performance, Christi is able to give you her undivided attention the entire time you are with her. I am very familiar with all the different companies in Nashville and what they have to offer. You will not find another clinician that is able to focus on only you for the entire treatment session! As a PT myself, there is no one else I would trust more with my rehab. Take my advice and make your appointment today!
Fantastic experience: Brittany has been such a great therapist for me! I initially went in for a scapular issue, but came away with a much stronger understanding of some preventative exercises that have helped me stay healthy since our initial visit. She not only wants to help get you healed, but is passionate about keeping you that way as well! Go see Brittany!!!
Fantastic experience: Brittany is the best! I tore my labrum trad climbing by shaking it out on to the wall too long. I was afraid to take that whip! After months of pain and poor treatment elsewhere, I walked into her office in The Crag and was back to climbing normally within 2 months. She’s knowledgeable and has a great personality. I feel like I left treatment with a new friend and awesome resource for any future injuries.
Fantastic experience: I've been working out at The Crag for over a year now and intermittently struggled with some old injuries. When Nashville Physical Therapy and Performance opened up inside the gym, I knew I needed to schedule an appointment. My only regret is that I waited so long to see Brittany. Her knowledge and ability to explain injuries and issues set a tone for me from the start. She spends the entire appointment with you and listens to you to truly understand what you struggle with. She means it when she says her goal is to get people healthy and back to the physical activities they love. I'm endlessly thankful for all that she's taught me about my body and injuries including the exercises that have made me feel like a new person! I finally feel 100% for the first time in years and I'm excited to get back to the things I love!
Fantastic experience: I came to Brittany with an injury that had prevented me from doing simple movements like a push up. She worked with me to identify the underlying cause and set up a treatment plan that gradually repaired and strengthened those muscles back to a usable level. Brittany was always there to answer any questions or adjust my therapy plan as needed. Very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.
Fantastic experience: Christi recently helped me with some shoulder pain that was preventing me from exercising the way I wanted to. She was very knowledgeable and was quickly able to diagnose the issue. I really appreciated the amount of time spent on how to continue making progress on my own at home with exercises and stretches. I would have never thought that getting a lumbar support for my chair at work would make a difference with my shoulder but it has really helped to relieve the pain and help me heal. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: I went to Christi with chronic back pain after several years of seeing other Physical Therapists. I have undergone several surgeries, shots, acupuncture and explored various methods of exercise. Christi took the time to discuss those various methods and fine tuned it and added other exercises to get the most out of my therapy. When I go back to her, she will make adjustments based on my back's changing symptoms. She is patient and caring. Her work with me has made a difference and helped me see improvement in my daily routine and to generally feel better. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.
Fantastic experience: Brittany is fantastic, I highly recommend her! I have seen various PTs for knee issues on & off over the past few years. I was in tremendous pain when I finally called Brittany and she helped me in a way no one else has. She took the time to listen and discovered the issue was not directly in my knees, but rather due to lower back issues. She explained everything thoroughly in layman terms, discussed the psychological association to pain, and gave me exercises that I could do at home - not just at her office or the gym. It was great to be on vacation and walk entire cities pain free. I’ve even been able to ease back into running, something I haven’t been able to do regularly for several years!
Fantastic experience: Brittany is the best! So glad I trusted the reviews. Best PT experience I've ever had. She's focused on empowerment and independence, not passive modalities and band-aids. She's really helping me reclaim my strength and movement confidence in a smart, progressive way! 10/10 highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend. My mom and I have both had fantastic experiences. I visited Gina due to back pain caused by a vertebra fracture and after just three weeks saw improvement. The physical therapy is very individualized and they genuinely care about reducing your pain and increasing your activity. Gina was also very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job of explaining each process. Go to these ladies with all of your PT needs.
Fantastic experience: I have dealt with many running injuries over the years and Brittany is my go to physical therapist. She is extremely knowledgeable and knows her stuff! She is committed to helping her patients get past their injuries. I’ve also seen her for non-running related injuries and she is just as experienced and helpful. I would recommend her to anyone!
Fantastic experience: Over the last few years, Brittany has helped me work through several injuries. I had back surgery several years ago and still feel the effects occasionally. Brittany takes time to understand and work through my issues. And she is always extremely positive in her approach! She is very invested in my healing.
Fantastic experience: My neighbor, Brittany Endres Hendrickson, is an amazing Physical Therapist. I've seen her several times for physical therapy needs. She is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and truly cares about her clients. Most recently, she treated me for vertigo! I had no idea that vertigo could be treated with physical therapy. Go see Brittany for all your PT needs (and vertigo)!! I promise you'll love her as much as I do!
Fantastic experience: I have seen Brittany many times over the past 7 years for running related injuries. She is very knowledgeable and always gets me back to running pain free as quickly as possible. I walked in 3 weeks prior to a race and could barely walk from a pinched nerve in my back. After seeing Brittany and doing exercises she designed for my injury, I completed the race pain free and injury free. If you are suffering from any pain or injury, I highly recommend Brittany!
Fantastic experience: Brittany has played an integral role in my recovery from two recent knee surgeries. From my very first post-op visit she created a welcoming environment and truly made me feel like I was playing an active role in creating my recovery plan. She is an excellent listener and is committed to getting her patients back to their active lifestyle. You will not find a better PT in Nashville, so stop looking and book your appointment!
Fantastic experience: I had my best Physical Therapy experience here. Brittany is with you the entire time. She is so knowledgeable and educates as she treats you. I've been to a variety of Physical Therapists over the years and NEVER has a PT stayed with me the entire time. I also saved so much money not having to have a referral, pay for x-rays, or pay for a follow-up with my referring doctor. I was able to have everything reimbursed through my HSA account and after doing the math I saved an average of $1,200 avoiding a standard PT clinic. I highly recommend Brittany I feel good as new!
Fantastic experience: Brittany helped me so much! I work very long hours and am always active at work, sometimes too active. I messed my knee up to the point that it really hurt to walk on it and any crouching motion was out of the picture. Brittany was able to not only get my left knee back to full strength, I feel like in that process, she helped me strengthen other muscles around my knee. Everything she did for me was very purposeful and every workout was specifically designed to target my knee. I was super impressed. I’d highly recommend going to see Brittany for all your physical therapy needs!
Fantastic experience: I've seen Brittany off and on for 10 years. I've had multiple injuries from playing Rugby and practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing. Brittany has healed every injury and gotten me back to each sport without missing a single competition/game/etc. She is more than capable and a great therapist. I highly recommend her!
Fantastic experience: Brittany is by far the BEST physical therapist in Nashville, hands down. She's helped me repair many issues from my hips to my knees to my feet. She's truly great and cares for her patients more than any other therapist I've seen. Unfortunately for her, she's stuck with me for life!
Fantastic experience: Brittany has been our family physical therapist for 6 years as needed. She worked through our families broken ankles, back issues, piriformis issues, shin splints and other running injuries. She has the best attitude and so friendly. She does what she can to keep you doing what you want to be doing without doing further harm to your body. She has diagnosed several problems that were undetermined by others. She is amazing and I would highly recommend her to anybody who needs a diagnosis and/ or treatment from injuries or post surgery needs.
Fantastic experience: Brittany is the best physical therapist I have had, and unfortunately I’ve had a few. She is very knowledgeable, knows how to listen, and works with each of her patients to achieve their individual goals. After my last surgery I went back to Brittany and she helped me get back to doing what I love (running) faster than my surgeon had ever seen before. I will continue to go to Brittany for all of my physical therapy needs. I highly recommend you chose Brittany, especially if you’re a runner, and you want the best care possible!!!
Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Brittany off and on since I started running. She has done a marvelous job of helping me through many injuries which has helped me continue running. Brittany cares about her patients and does everything she can for a positive outcome from an injury. I’m still doing some of the exercises she gave me to keep me moving! I would recommend Nashville Physical Therapy to anyone needing help treating an injury.
