Catalina Post-Acute & Rehabilitation

Fantastic experience: I was there for hip replacement therapy after being in hosp for 3 days. I was transported by a couple of good guys from Copper State. Catalina was already prepared to receive me. Very quickly I knew I was in caring professional hands. My whole expeience of 7 days felt like it was all about me. My wife was also well accepted. Everyone was upbeat and personalble. CNA and Nurses were very responsive an possitive about my calls. The Physical and Occupational therapy has to be the best in Tucson plus. Both my therapist were very educated about how to proceed with me to meet my goals to return home to be as self functional and safe as possible. They threw there heart and compasion into making me functional. Just can't say enough good things about Sonya and Delaney. The Doctor was a down to earth guy. While I was there I was visted by a wound care nurse and a nuritionist. About the food... to please over 100 people is impossible. There was always someting on my plate that I loved. And you can ask for alternatives. No complaints from me about the food. Overal I was very well cared for; would not hesitate to use this facility again or highly recommend it to friends or relatives. Thanks to all the great people at Catalina.

Fantastic experience: I was at Catalina for 7 weeks. People are caring and friendly. They made my transition to health as seamless as possible. The physical therapy team are outstanding, the RTs were so helpful, the nurses and CNAs are knowledgeable and caring, and social services kept me upbeat (I will say the resourse people were not as friendly). The food can improve (it was when I was leaving). The wound team are one of the best. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic experience: My Mom was placed in Catalina rehab 2 weeks go. We have had a good experience here. The staff has been great, she met a lot of very nice patients. The Physical and occupational therapy worked hard with my mom and had a lot of good advice for transferring her when we get her home. Mom has had terrible experiences at a different facility so we were very happy with her stay here..

Fantastic experience: I’m writing this on my wife’s behalf this place is phenomenal the staff the doctors especially the physical therapy and occupational therapy teams they helped my wife get moving and they didn’t just let her lay around. The nurses are incredible each and everyone one of them thank you all so much for taking care of her if I ever need a skilled nursing facility this will be the place I choose. I can not thank the staff enough for what they’ve done

Fantastic experience: My Mom was taken here right after she was discharged from UMC. The whole admittance process was great. The staff was terrific. They were so patient, caring and extremely helpful in everything. I would highly recommend Catalina Post-Acute & Rehab.

Positive experience: Our mother was at the rehabilitation facility for two weeks after being released from her hospital stay of a week. Catalina staff made her feel very comfortable. She was one week in the intensive care side and another week in the rehabilitation. She said that the caregivers were terrific with her and the physical and occupational therapists were wonderful! She gives a four star rating because she felt the facility was a little under staff. My siblings truly appreciated the warm welcome when we arrived and the staff helping us with her next stage upon discharge.

Fantastic experience: I went to visit a family member and I have to say that I was so impressed with the level of care that Catalina post acute and rehabilitation provided for my family member. The nurses were amazing and so friendly as well as the CNA’s who are so professional and kind. The building itself was very well kept and clean which made me feel great about my family member staying at the facility. I was honored to meet the administrator who answered all of my questions and also made my visit a pleasant one. Thank you Catalina for the amazing work you provide our community.

Fantastic experience: I have had a very bad fall in April 29 2023 I fell in my apartment like a sack of potatoes straight down, had to have titanium rods put in both of my leg’s from my knees down I came to Catalina rehab center to get better. This place and been a beautiful place for me and my family for me to get better, the care I received is above and beyond incredible,the staff,is amazingly supportive and there kindness is very very generous and appreciated to me from the bottom of my heart and soul I have not one bad thing to about this place when I came I /we felt welcomed from the get-go from coming here the therapist and ot. have been but extremely helpful to get me stronger and stronger everyday I love women that helped me through all of this that I had to go through the nurses male and female are very strong women and strong men that helped through some dark times thank-you very much for everything everyone has done for me I’ll always be grateful to every single person that has had a hand in my recovery!!!

Fantastic experience: I was a patient here back in 21… Covid 19 made be very sick and I ended up on dialysis and a patient at catalina care to help with my strength.The rehab team was amazing… Danny from PT, really helped me when I could barely walk or stand. I am happy the staff noticed I was slowly declining and needed to be sent to the hospital. All the staff was very nice, competent, and good people!

Fantastic experience: As Sue's husband, there are no adequate words or expressions to express my gratitude & appreciation to admissions, the staff, & the therapists. Everyone has been 100% "above & beyond the call of duty," during her care.....especially because we don't live in the metro Tucson area. I realize - nothing's perfect - but I can't recommend this facility high enough.

Fantastic experience: My husband was sent to Catalina from Banner Hospital in August 2020 and the facility doctor was a Banner hospitist so we felt the level of care would flow nicely. Since I was not allowed to visit inside I did window visit everyday with him and was highly impressed with the care we saw he was getting and therapy getting him strong enough to go back home. The nursing staff was very friendly and always answer any questions we had. Shelly arranged transfer, feeding and care training for me so we would not fail at home. Would recommend this facility to anyone it is Exceptional!

Fantastic experience: My grandmother was at Catalina after suffering from a stroke. She was sent to receive physical and occupational therapy. All staff especially therapy were great. They really pushed my grandmother and got her as strong as they good.

Fantastic experience: My mom stayed here after a stroke, the staff caring for her was amazing. It was a difficult time during COVID but the staff made sure my dad was always set up to visit with her safely under the not so great circumstances. When it came time for her to move to a longer term facility, Shelly the SS Director went out of her way to connect my dad with the resources needed to make some difficult decisions for her placement. She took the extra time to assist my dad with the Altcs application, which was very complicated for him. Without her caring assistance I don't know where my mom would be today. Because of her extensive knowledge and guidance, my mom has now been permanently placed in a wonderful place, being well taken care of!

Fantastic experience: Review from a former employee: I enjoyed my time in Catalina. The management was supportive, encouraging, helpful and transparent. Work environment was safe and we got through pandemic times just fine due to early implementation of safety and infection control measures. Go Ethan!

Would recommend this facility to anyone. Bonus was the facility doctor was a Banner hospitist so we felt the level of care was Exceptional.

Fantastic experience: My stay has been great outside of the coronavirus restrictions, which is a 14 day quarantine. The staff and food are excellent, they make you feel very welcomed. The therapy was extraordinary and I'm thankful they were able to get me well enough to be home for Christmas.

Fantastic experience: All the staff really nice and truly care about you as a patient. Everybody has been thorough and when i put my call light on they come pretty fast. Nurse Carol was amazing and beyond thorough with all of her assesments.

Fantastic experience: This is a great after care facility. I would recommend them to anyone who needs after care after their hospital release. Unfortunetly I've been to this place twice; however, the second visit I requested to be sent because I trust them. The nurses, CNAs and physical /occupational staff are all friendly, polite and are actually here to help as much as possible. They actually care about their patients, unlike some facilities who's staff members are only there to collect a paycheck. Again, I highly recommend this place to anyone needing after care/physical and occupational therapy.

Fantastic experience: The facility is not the fanciest, however the care and people are excellent. They kept me busy and my time here went by fast. Angel the CNA was such a character and had the best sense of humor. He helped make my stay enjoyable. I would recommend this place to my friends and family if they ever need a rehab facility.

Fantastic experience: Catalina Acute I found to be a 5 star for the rehab, medical, and tech support. I would recommend this facility to anyone who asked. Angel one of the CNAs handled a patient's anxiety attack with a great deal of sensitivity. He could not be a more caring caregiver. The wound care nurses were great. Every single person I worked with was excellent and helped me with all my needs.

Fantastic experience: Maureen Middleton, my medical provider was OUTSTANDING!! I came to Catalina to regain strength after being hospitalized and losing 20# in a week. The Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy departments were knowledgable and amazing! I was able gain back significant strength and body mass under their instruction. Almost the entire nursing staff was caring and responsive with only one exception. The CNA staff performed COUNTLESS acts of kindness! Finally, the kitchen staff was consistently responsive to my special requests. I really feel they went above and beyond to meet my needs. I would definitely recommend Catalina Healthcare to anyone looking to get back their strength and endurance. Glad I opted for this facility.

Fantastic experience: Catalina cared for my mother for 3 weeks following her hip fracture and surgery. All of the staff at Catalina were focused on the safety and care of the patient. The attending nurses, med techs and therapists gave mom 24x7 compassionate attention. And the facility also allowed daily visitations by mom's dog, which raised not only her morale, but the morale of her fellow patients. The case managers at Catalina were also excellent, providing great communication and assistance in navigating post-discharge challenges. Catalina is a great facility.

Fantastic experience: This is my 3rd time coming to Catalina and Ive come back because of the excellent care I've received in the past. The staff is top notch, they respond to your needs quickly and efficiently. The staff is friendly and caring and try to meet your individual needs. Yvonne, nicole, makayla, dolores, Christina, Amy, and Amanda are just a few staff members that went above and beyond for me. Physical therapy is excellent they always make me work hard and that is how I regained my strength so quickly. Ive worked with majority of the staff and they always are like cheer leaders, making you want to strive higher. Thank you very much for everything Catalina!!

Fantastic experience: This is the best place ever. If i could give them a 10 star I would. If anybody I know ever needs therapy, I would 100% tell them about Catalina. Top notch in every department. You can tell the employees are happy where they work. They are always smiling.

Fantastic experience: I am very satisfied with this facility. I have been to Sabino Canyon and Catalina blows them out of the water. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. My nurse Devine is exceptional, you can tell she loves what she does for a living. I had Makayla as my CNA most of my time here and she was amazing always came when I needed help. Overall my stay here was wonderful. Only Complaint is that the food is not the best. If I ever need therapy again I would not hesitate to come back.

Fantastic experience: My dad received excellent therapy and care at Catalina Post Acute Care and Rehabilitation for three weeks. Their center is very clean and the staff was always friendly and considerate. Plans for transfer from St. Joseph to Catalina Post Acute Care and Rehabilitation was made seamless through Mario Ornelas, Marketing Director, who guided my dad and family through every step of the process. Maricela the long term case manager for Catalina listened and recommended resources for my dad. I will be forever grateful to Shelly Hernandez in Social Services who went above and beyond for her guidance in finding a long term nursing facility for my dad. I highly recommend Catalina Post Acute Care and Rehabilitation for their care and kindness for every step of the process of rehabilitation.

Fantastic experience: My brother was here for three weeks and received excellent care. Staff was helpful, knowledgeable and kind and even helped him celebrate his birthday. Shelly, from the social services office, was very helpful for my brother and the family in helping us to understand next step options and finding placement after rehab.

Fantastic experience: The staff are awesome. I enjoyed all of the nurses they took very good care of my son who was in this facility for 6 weeks. I came from out of state and the care was nothing short of great. The nurses and administration always answered any questions that I had and keep me in the loop of my sons care. Jose and Christina my sons two main nurses were my favorite. The facility is actually very clean. Not the prettiest but clean. I would recommend this place to anybody needing care.

Fantastic experience: I stayed here for over a month, to recover from complications caused by a medically induced coma. The rehabilitation therapists were caring and motivating. In fact, every member of Catalina’s staff were kind and friendly. I felt respected and cared for at all times. The staff’s warm attitude toward patients and each other was carried through the facility. On several occasions I witnessed and experienced patients encouraging each other.

Fantastic experience: My sister has been here for almost 2 weeks. She is recovering from a serious illness and surgery. The staff have been very caring and competent. Everyone from the nurses and techs to the rehab and support staff have done so much to help her already. I'm sure she will regain her health and strength at Catalina. I will advise that you advocate for your loved one. There were a couple of bumps when my sister first got there. But they were quickly addressed and resolved. I want to give a special shout out to Christina (nurse) and Ray (CNA) in the West wing. They really go above and beyond!

Fantastic experience: All of the staff are very nice and compassionate. Carol, my nurse, is exceptional. She is very attentive and does her best job every single day. If I ever need a rehab again I would come back here. I would also recommend this place to friends and family.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful stay. Therapy really pushed me. The food was AMAZING. Delia, my nurse, was the best and really on top of everything, she helped make my stay enjoyable. Cna Alicia was helpful to. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. it is not the prettiest place but it is nice and clean for the most part. Thank you Catalina.

Fantastic experience: My grandmother broke her hip and needed skilled nursing. It took a few weeks but her recovery was great. The rehab team was awesome. Also nursing was great. So compassionate. Everyone treated my grandmother with respect. I would recommend Catalina to anyone!

Fantastic experience: The CNAs are awesome. They seem to love their job. The nurses take their job seriously. I was first at The Haven of Tucson Rehab and the care was horrible. I had to wait hours for my call light to be answered. I wouldnt recommend sending your loved ones to The Haven ever. Let me tell you Catalina was a major UPGRADE in regards to the therapy and the care. I've been to Catalina twice and will only choose Catalina if I ever need rehab again. Sonia and Annie my PT and OT therapist were incredibly caring and encouraging. They really kept me motivated and focused on meeting my goals. Catalina has a welcoming family feel and they've exceeded all my expectations.

Fantastic experience: My mother was referred to this facility and was well taken care of, they have very attentive and professional staff that made it easy for us as a family and specially for her as a patient to cope with her medical conditions. Fantastic experience: I admitted my mother at Catalina after she was hospitalized from a fall at home. I've been thankful for having a wonderful experience at this facility. Found a trustworthy place for my family member. I felt welcomed by staff and the admission process went smoothly. The rehabilitation team was wonderful and very caring towards my mom. All her nurses demonstrated compassionate care towards her during a difficult time in her life. Her case manager, Shelly, facilitated her discharged in a timely and efficient manner.

Fantastic experience: Ive had a very good experience here. All the nurses like carol and cat and many others that i cant name, were very attentive. The techs like Alex(braids) and jose were the greatest.the pt people were my favorite even tho I gave them a hard time. Savannah and Annie I love you. Now the food was good most of the time But there were times I went hungry because I couldn't eat what they served. Overall it was a great experience!

Fantastic experience: I found the staff to be very courtious and helpful. They did everything they could to make my stay enjoyable. The physical therapy was instumental and really got me prepared to be successful once at home, not only physically but mentally to. I would recommend Catalina to any of my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: My uncle was not the happiest person when he had to go to a rehab(he was a grumpy old guy)but when he got to Catalina he was immediately attended to and everyone was so readily available to help in any way they could, Mike the CNA was very attentive, not only to him but to us as well. It really made us feel so much better about him being there. He was refusing to eat,to do therapy, basically everything. They never gave up on him. They were very respectful and encouraging. They worked closely with the doctor to get the right medication on board. Once they had his medication right he was more compliant with therapy. He started eating with the speech therapist. He especially bonded with his physical therapist Georgia ,who he jokingly called “Georgia the torturer” He said he felt a special connection with her. He felt like she genuinely cared for him and his goal to get home safely. He was so happy when he was able to come home. We cannot express enough how much we appreciate all of the staff at Catalina. They are all rockstars and I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone who is in the position we were in when the hospital said he was not ready to come home. He needed some time to get his medication right and to get strong enough to get around at home. Forever grateful to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Amazing Social Workers!! Sooo helpful All the Way! Shelly was ours and she was on top of it the Whole time and her colleague was Amazing too!! Such a Clean and well kept facility, great staff! The food wasnt great But it's the same as any hospital ,and staff was Sooo nice and accommodating Always did their best on their end to make it the best possible. [ all hospital food comes from a can, bag or frozen. .nothing is fresh ....its not the employees fault at facility...food is regulated and hospitals and facilities have No control over it] I want this to be known to people reading this because I was a patient food manager for several years at different hospitals and facilities around the country. Great Job Catalina Keep up the Great Work!!

Fantastic experience: Staff is very professional and caring! The occupational and physical therapy department is great. They will definitely prepare you to be independent and successful at home. The wound care personnel are knowledgeable and experienced. I’m leaving this facility healthier, stronger, and better able to care for myself!

Fantastic experience: My experience here at Catalina has been great. Everybody here is very compassionate about what they do, especially Sherry, one of the nurses I had. The food was excellent they had lots of options. I was previously at Park Avenue Rehab and had the worst experience imaganable. If you ever have to pick a rehab facility Catalina is the place. They have a extremely friendly and welcoming environment.

Fantastic experience: This is my second time here at Catalina receiving therapy services. Therapy staff are extremely passionate, especially Scott, he was a sweet heart. Crystal, a CNA on the north hall, always wears a smile on her face and is always quick to help with whatever I needed. Amy, one of my nurses is wonderful. You can tell she loves her job. If I ever need to go to a rehab center again Catalina is my pick.

Fantastic experience: I have had both my mother-in-law and father-in-law here for rehab. Both of them received fantastic care. All of the staff here are friendly and helpful. They treat everyone like family. They especially liked the anti-gravity treadmill. It made rehabing mom's broken hip much easier on her.

Fantastic experience: My uncle was recently admitted to Catalina Care center, the level of care he received from the Nursing and Theraphy staff was above and beyond what was anticipated. The team at Catalina helped our VERY LARGE family feel accommodated and the case management/social services staff made sure we were all informed on his progress and discharge plan. I’m please to say my uncle Is back to 100% and the team at Catalina Care center are to THANK! Thank you for all you do, Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: This place was a big surprise. I thought everybody at this facility was fantastic. The therapy team is unbelievable and provide outstanding treatments. Annie was my therapist and she was the best. I was a business owner of 2 companies. I know good customer service when I see it and this place all around has happy employees and excellent service. If I could tell the whole world about this place I would.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service i would recommend this place to anybody. The nurses, case mangers, and activities was awesome! Donna, Felicia, and Angel a few aides really took care of my mom and had lots of compassion. Keyosha my moms nurse provided excellete service and helped my mom with whatever she needed. Tracy and alicia in activities helped throw my mom a birthday party and i cant thank them enough for all that they did to help make my moms stay an enjoyable one. If my mom ever needs rehab services again Catalina is my top pick.

Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience while at Catalina. They are very busy at this facility so sometimes it took a little while to get my call light answered. All the staff from nurses, to house keeping, to the therapist specifically Matt and Dee work very hard. The food was good as well. Everybody was extremely nice and cared for me with compassion. Fantastic experience: Took my Mom to Catalina Care, was really worried about leaving her. When I walked in I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. The facility smelled nicely clean and not like those terrible stenches you normally get. I met with several Therapist and ALL were amazing! They made both my Mom and I feel very comfortable, and informed us in detail on her treatment plan. All the staff are very friendly. They have an amazing CLEAN gym! LOTS of great activities that make staying there easier and fun. I would really recommend bringing a loved on here.

Fantastic experience: My stay was extremely comfortable. Caring staff. Very informative. Peaceful atmosphere. Damares, Zac, Andrea and Juan were with me daily. PT and OT has a great staff. Very professional and kind. I will definitely come back for care after my next knee replacement. ( Need a different shower curtain for privacy.)

Fantastic experience: I am a veteran and since I have been here I have experienced great services from the staff. The nurses are very professional , social workers and case mangers helped me out when I needed it. Tracy social worker used her personal time to pick up some personal items for me before they got thrown out at my previous location. Physical therapy is GOLD especially Stephanie. When I felt like giving up she always made me push through it and for that I am thankful. Even maintenance was quick and efficient. The food was alright, I've had better. This place overall is 5 stars in my eyes!
