Alameda Hospital: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I loved it. Starting with the intake rep and ending it with southern bell sassy nurse with. I felt that my concerns were heard unlike the two other EDs I visited this week.
Fantastic experience: I was very pleased with friendly and warm staff. I also did not have to wait much to be helped at ER room.
Positive experience: while i have had a successful hip surgery here, so far the past two nights of inpatient care here have been the nights of sleep deprevation. The nurses are competent and sweet, but the entire service is way too slow. Yesterday, i alerted them a 7:30 a.m. about the start of migrain but was't given medicine until 10:30 and by then it was too late. That is because they can't give medicine without physician's approval and getting doctors to respond is not a quick process. Consequently I suffered from a thrubing head and severe nausea all day. This kind of service has been accross all requests. People who have family membees with them get attention right away, but when family leaves you are frequently ignored, no matter which machine beeps in your room and how many time you push the call button the response usually is slow. I like the nurses here and the doctors are fine too. Coordiation, communication, chart updates etc as well as management is flawed. Also the facility too old and too small for the moving equippments. In closing i give the nurses 4.5 star, the doctors 4, the facility a 2, other staff 4 and the mangement 1.5. I think a lot of their communication issues have to do with their management and their protocol of keeping communication charts, parient logues etc.
Positive experience: Everything seems so different from the moment you get in and way after you leave and receive a bill that has nothing to do with the service you got which was slow and careless to begin with
Fantastic experience: It's small ( that's what she said)
Fantastic experience: Great, you will not be there all night and all day unlike Highland Hospital! Alameda hospital is wonderful!
Fantastic experience: FYI if you need to pick up your X-rays and radiologist readings from the xray dept know that their hours are 8am-3pm.
Fantastic experience: Looks great and big nice mini lake next it . should my a little slim bridge .I came in N.Y.C in T.V .show in the background and Blvd and street like N.Y.PD blue and other T.V. shows and horror Movies.
Fantastic experience: Fue muy Rápido mi cita.
Fantastic experience: The black Male Security Guard during Dayshift is so helpful I want to thank him a lot, he very respectfully.
Fantastic experience: I have had 2 visits to the ER in 8 days One for 3 stitches, every ER room was full with 5 in the waiting room The whole visit was a little over 4 hours Fast considering how busy they were My 2nd visit, for a elbow fracture I was in and out in 1 1/2 hours They were no where near as busy Alameda Hospital is fast and efficient as well as staffed with friendly people
Positive experience: If I come here without money and no health insurance and no documentation and no identification and no income proof and need tests specifically for my pre-existing heart failure will they still take me in?
Fantastic experience: The care at Alameda Hospital is excellent. My mother has been in and out of the hospital several times over the last couple years. Every time I have been impressed by how compassionate the staff are. In particular, I wanna give a shout out to the hospitalists Dr. Shippey and Dr. Isolani, and the nursing staff in 3 West. They are great about treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.
Positive experience: I would highly recommend this hospital. I went to ER had surgery there and had to stay in the Hospital for 3 days. Although it is not enjoyable to be in a hospital, my experience was very good. The nurses were attentive and professional. They took good care of me and most had a sense of humor. I would like to thank; Amerachi, Andrea, Elaine, Lovely, Mercy and Rhodora, Kevin and Dr. Yong for making my experience as good as I could hope. Also, a special thanks to Doctor Pappademos for his quick, confident and decisive action while exhibiting compassion to help save my leg. Thank You All Very Much Rich
Positive experience: The ER is scary, the thin surgical masks don't feel covid safe. I was in 4 times before I was admitted for 3 days. The ER nurses are waaaay overworked, some of their franticness freaks me out for sterility reasons, I was yelled at by one nurse because I couldn't hear what she said. The security guard, on my third visit, was the one managing pateints in the waiting room, he had to remind the nurse I was there to triage. The ER dr this (hopefully last) 4th time told me to come in when I called ahead to make sure they could help me, despite the nurse Id talked to who said I should go to highland for the endocronologist, then, as a lot of transphobic drs do, suggested it was my testosterone possibly causing the issue. Despite this, he asked that I get admitted, and I was. I felt most listened to by the Drs assistant, most of the nurses were kind, but it seems they don't really get breaks or something which effects their work. Upstairs, the nurses are VERY nice, I've felt very cared for. I will reitterate the cleanliness issues, there was something gross on the bed I had to ask a nurse to clean off for me (couple pictures attached). I wish the mask rules were more strict, a patient was sneezing into the hallway as I was passing pushed in a chair. And the food is not gut safe, a lot of sugar, which as a comfort seems great when stuck in the hospital, chicken pasta was good, but I'm having severe GI issues and they don't have much that has been safe for my symptoms, so I haven't been able to eat much since I've been here, and when I do it made some symptoms worse. I greatly appreciate the kindness of the upstairs nurses and most of the Drs, it's made this stay less stressful.
Positive experience: A family had their surgery here. Overall good service. We had a very accommodating nurse while some were rude.
Fantastic experience: Brain MRI
Fantastic experience: I was born in this hospital in 1954...
Fantastic experience: I dont know why so many low reviews!! I had surgery here and stayed for 3 days after. My whole stay here was absolutely awesome!! Every nurse/doctor was so nice and accommodating. Never did I come in contact with someone rude or unprofessional. My surgeon was amazing and did a wonderful job. (Carrie wilson) even with complications and 7hrs in operating rm. I would definitely recommend this hospital and all the staff. If I could give higher than 5 stars I would. I love Alameda hospital. Thank you to all who work there and all who took great care of me during my stay. ALAMEDA HOSPITAL ROCKS!!!!❤❤
Fantastic experience: I have experienced excellent service in the Physical Therapy Department, the AH Lab has been efficient, competent, and congenial. The X-Ray Department is congenial, helpful, and competent. Our doctor is excellent and his specialist referrals are of the highest quality. The Alameda Hospital has good Covid-19 protocol. The registration process is efficient and the service personnel are congenial and competent.
Fantastic experience: Thanks for the 10 star service!
Fantastic experience: Had earring stuck in ear took quicker than most emergency rooms i have been in the past great friendly doctors staff was helpful as well
Fantastic experience: I love this place because I take very well care of you I came in 3 days ago with pneumonia and my body was overloaded with water in three short days I'm out and running around again
Fantastic experience: Hopeful knowledgeable and would recommend
Fantastic experience: Fast and very nice staff
Fantastic experience: Professional, courteous, and I was seen quickly. Went in to have a splint replaced on broken arm because the job done at UCSF was poor. Alameda's replacement was much better.
Fantastic experience: I've been to the ER twice, personally. Another time with my wife when she was pregnant and again when she had vertigo. All times we were seen almost immediately. There has never been much of a wait. Last time i came in with a foot injury. I saw the doctor after only about 10 minutes and was in and out of x-ray, in a medical boot, and out the door in about an hour.
Fantastic experience: I was surprised how quickly I was seen. The whole experience lasted about 30minutes. Good bedside manner. No complaints!
Fantastic experience: Thwey have always been super professional and helpful when I've gone to get help at energency! Thank you!
