McFarland Clinic - 1215 Duff Avenue Office

Fantastic experience: I find the clinic staff and doctors exceptional. I came from a large clinic in Wisconsin that thought was good, McFarland is better. I had the pleasure of working with several ladies from the HR department when they volunteered to help prepare a meal at Food at First. They were a pleasure to work with and represented McFarland wonderfully. This shows me that not only is the clinic great, the people that work there are compassionate and care about people in the community. I will continue to recommend the clinic to anyone that asks me about it.

Fantastic experience: Trishia of Radiology is an excellent employee. I undergone CT scan and sensing that I was uncomfortable as I am claustrophobic, she put on an apron and she stayed near my side so I did not feel alone during the scanning. She is the most compassionate individual I met in my almost 20 years of going to McFarland Clinic.

Positive experience: Went here for a covid test and got a bill in the mail for $200. You are better off anywhere else. UPDATE 8/30: I was refunded my money back out of nowhere. Changing from 1 star to 4 for this. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Stith is a great Dr. and really cares about his patients. His staff are great people as well. If you need a primary physician, I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I had to have lab work done at the McFarland Clinic in Ames, and I was very pleased with my experience. The receptionist at the lab was very pleasant to me and the other patients waiting to have their blood drawn. Most importantly, the phlebotomist who drew my blood was kind and professional. I was impressed with my experience with both the receptionist and the phlebotomist.

Fantastic experience: I have always had good experiences with McFarland clinic along with Mary Greeley, I've been coming to this clinic since I was a kid for general medical needs and everyone has always been super kinda and pleasant. Even one time when I was misbilled for a visit I still got it sorted fast and easy.

Positive experience: There are a few good doctors here. But in my experience many of them and many of the staff are inhumane and incompetent. Our community deserves better than this.

Positive experience: These people take great care of their patients. But because of Covid I was separated from from my Dad. Not able to be with him during labs and other appointments. He very well could have gotten moved. And he was without me being told. Let caregivers back in.

Fantastic experience: i had lodged part of a silicone ear plug deep in my ear early morning .it couldn’t be removed a the office so i was referred here. he was able to remove it quickly and painlessly. i appreciate his kindness throughout the process. if i ever have another issue and need a ent i will definitely reach out and would recommend to anyone else. thank you!

Fantastic experience: Excellent clinic.....using clinic facilities for 30 plus years. We are very fortunate to have a clinic of this large size with all of the specialties available in Central Iowa. Both Mary Greeley and Story County Hospital are very modern and support each other during any major events.

Fantastic experience: I've had very positive experiences with radiology (many, many times, for MRIs, CTs, and x-rays) and orthopedics (multiple appts with Dr. Kaspar), as well as a few one-off appointments in other departments. I see many negative reviews here that appear to deal with billing, wait times, and disrespectful attitudes, and have (thankfully) never encountered this.

I'm crying cause it feels so good to have the Best Care u can offer me. Long as I get my candy and stickers for shot I'm good. I love y'all. Thank u for loving me.

Fantastic experience: I have to say that Chelsea NP (lily pad and care coordinator) just set me up with the best Allergy MD I have ever met. Dr. Brown is fascinating. He loves his specialty and loves educating. I have learned more in 1 appointment from this passionate, brilliant, interesting, empathetic doctor than I have in the months that I have been having problems. I am so glad that I found McFarland Clinic. Everyone here has been professional, kind, helpful.

Fantastic experience: I treated gastritis and visited several primary care physicians in the McFarland clinic, as well as did some tests and ultrasound. After reading the all negative reviews I was very skeptical, but all my visits were fine! Staff was always nice. I recommend Dr. Srikanth Katragadda, but other doctors are also good. There are some issues with making an appointment, and physician usually reluctantly schedule advanced tests. In my case if I did stool test from the beginning it would save me 2 month of discomfort, but this can happen in every clinic. Another negative side is that they always require a referral to visit a specialist. But in general my experience was good and anyway you probably don't have other options :)

Fantastic experience: My experiences here have always been positive. I have visited for a number of issues and my doctor has always taken me seriously, even doing research for my condition to provide an adequate response. The appointment staff are friendly and helpful. Sometimes there is a bit of a long wait, but that's going to be true of every clinic. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Positive experience: We love Dr. Patton. She has been my daughter's doctor since she was born at the hospital.. she now goes to Dr.Wheeler the allergist also..love him to..my daughter hate shots..they are very good with her..now she getting allergy shots every week. It is tough beening a 9 year old that has to stay in due to high pollen..

Fantastic experience: Cardiology department was friendly and efficient. Dr. Rasmussen was very nice and explained everything and I felt confident with him as my doctor. He ordered an echo and chemical stress test.. The two ladies that did the testing were wonderful. So nice and explained everything they were doing. They chatted and it helped make the time go faster. Would go no where else for future appointments and tests

Positive experience: Allergy doctors and nurses are absolutely amazing! The receptionist on the other hand, so rude! Not even just to me. I’m sitting here now waiting for my appointment and she’s rude to the people calling! So unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Although our wait time was a bit long, it also reassures me that the doctors are taking their time with patients. Not rushing them thru like cattle for profit. We saw the ENT and were very impressed. I have one that lives in the same town as I do but wanted to take my daughter to someone knowledgeable. We are very happy with the care she has received and have a follow up appointment scheduled. We normally utilize Carroll's McFarland Clinic, and absolutely love Dr Slattery. He was the one who referred us to see the ENT at McFarland in Ames. And we are very thankful that he did.
