Obria Medical Clinics - Ames

Fantastic experience: I went here for an ultrasound, and the staff and nurse were absolutely so friendly and helpful. I didn’t know this was a Christian-based clinic, and that was exactly what I was looking for! I went into it thinking it was going to be like a Planned Parenthood, which I didn’t want to support. I was thrilled to have my baby prayed for and be in a Christian environment. I felt so supported and safe, they truly care about you here. I recommend Obria to everyone!! Such a great experience.

Fantastic experience: Obria is staffed by compassionate and skilled professionals—RN's and licensed providers (ARNP and MD)—and provides STD testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, limited obstetrical ultrasounds, and well-woman care. Obria aims to provide excellent care and accurate information on people's healthcare decisions so that they are empowered to make an informed decision.

Fantastic experience: I visited Obria a few months ago for an ultrasound during pregnancy. The nurses performing the ultrasound were very knowledgeable and kind and answered any questions I had. The front desk staff was also very welcoming and they insisted on me leaving with a baby blanket. I really appreciated their thoroughness and professionalism in my visit.

Fantastic experience: Obria is staffed by such caring medical professionals. I went to their clinic at 12 weeks pregnant and received an ultrasound. As a first time mom I was really nervous and didn't know what to expect during pregnancy. The staff at Obria were so reassuring and took the time to really explain what I could do to have a healthy pregnancy. They helped me determine my due date and gave me peace of mind that my baby was developing as expected. I'm thankful to have this resource in the Ames community.

Fantastic experience: Clinic offers pregnancy testing and STI screening at no cost. They have religious affiliation, if that's going to be an issue, go to Thielen and pay for labs or Planned Parenthood and pay for the doctor visit. There is also the Primary Health Care Clinic in West Ames, but they ask for insurance and other information before providing testing. It's free (no insurance paperwork, just a lot of consents to sign) at Informed Choices for a reason, they would like to introduce you to Jesus. Not incredibly pressuring, but they do offer to pray for you. You will take a quiz on STIs and they will walk you through it afterwards to inform you. Staff are incredibly professional and kind, it is easy to see they really are in this to help people. They do an excellent job of answering any questions you may have. Do make sure you leave at least an hour open for your appointment.
