Since 2002, we have been treating patients with various musculoskeletal injuries and ailments. The main advantage of Active Care Center is in our approach to diagnosis and treatment. Reaching the correct diagnosis is a paramount task in each case as it determines the appropriate course of treatment. Whether an advanced in-clinic orthopedic examination, or in-house NCV/EMG nerve studies or further referral for MRI evaluation is in order, no patient treatment starts before we are absolutely sure that we are treating the right condition.
Depending on your case, we may utilize standard chiropractic manipulative medicine, advanced MLS Laser Therapy, nutritional counseling or acupuncture; in certain cases a progression to physical therapy exercises, core strengthening and dynamic gait training may be necessary. The combinations and approaches are many. The goal is only one – to get you back to optimum health.
FCE’s are ordered for many reasons: they can be ordered to evaluate a permanent disability; to ascertain if further rehabilitation is necessary to return the worker back to work; as a second opinion in contested workers comp case. We are equipped to provide answers in all cases through the objective functional testing. Our physical therapy clinic has partnered with OccuPro, a national leader in research and occupational injury evaluation and uses OccuPro’s advanced software to provide FCE evaluations.
On-job-site injuries cost enormous amounts of lost time, money and productivity. Being an orthopedic and rehabilitation facility we are well equipped to deal with treatment of these injuries. We will manage the initial injury and guide the patient through physical therapy, work-conditioning and Fit-for-Duty evaluations. We will file all necessary reports with Worker Comp and communicate with case managers. We will ensure that the patient can safely return to work and will tirelessly work with the patient and his/her advocate to successful completion of the case.

We offer: Ergonomic Site Evaluations, Fit-For-Duty Evaluations, Pre-Placement Evaluations, Post-Offer Employment Evaluations, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and DOT Medical testing. Using safe and gentle joint manipulation, we are able to decrease pain, increase range of motion and improve function in the neck, back, and extremities. In conjunction with knowledge of modern medicine, orthopedics, neurology and internal medicine, Chiropractors are able to non-invasively relief pain and return the patient to full health unlike any other medical specialty. Our clinic’s focus on diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal ailments stems from our clinical director’s passion and great interest in chiropractic orthopedics, physical therapy and rehabilitation. Dr. Albert Pawlusiewicz is a Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist, who has dedicated his career to non-invasive treatment of orthopedic, sports, and post-trauma injuries. Orthopedics does not have to mean surgery; in fact over 99% of all orthopedic cases we see are never treated surgically.
Acupuncture is used at our clinic as an adjunct therapy method in treating painful conditions, especially those that incapacitate the patient to such extent that physical therapy and manual therapy cannot be initially utilized. We also use needling in difficult or therapy-resistant conditions such as frozen shoulder or sciatica. The decision to use acupuncture is made on case by case basis and depends on the ailment, its chronicity and best medical practice.
At Active Care Center the injured person, be it from car, work, or other injury, will find a dedicated team of providers who will objectively evaluate the injury, make specific recommendations and initiate treatment of the injury. Additionally, we help our patients with filing the claim with responsible party as many patients are too emotionally distraught or simply do not know how to deal with the insurance situation, and what steps to take to get their health back without worrying about finances.
For many illnesses and injuries, surgery is often a necessary solution. Post surgical rehabilitation is absolutely a key factor in successful recovery. Physical therapy can aid the healing process through reduction of initial swelling, improving range of motion and regaining of strength, The end-goal is to return the patient to full and pain-free daily home and work activities. Our Physical Therapists follow strict guidelines and protocols to insure gradual positive improvement without risking injuring the delicate healing tissue.
NCV is often used along with an EMG to tell the difference between a nerve disorder and a muscle disorder. NCV detects a problem with the nerve, whereas an EMG detects whether the muscle is working properly in response to the nerve's stimulus. Nerve conduction studies may also be done to find the cause of symptoms, such as numbness, tingling, and continuous pain. It is used to help diagnose such common diseases as sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome or chronic neuropathy.
MLS Laser Therapy is a non-invasive, safe, and effective treatment modality where light is used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and promote wound healing and soft tissue repair. Our laser is the only multi-wave locked system, dual wave, fully robotic laser therapy system on the market. This means deeper penetration with no heat produced allowing faster healing with no known side effects. It has been cleared by the FDA.

Fantastic experience: I had a big problem with my neck spine what was connected with problems in other parts of my body. With my problem, I was looking for help at a few facilities, but most doctors were sending me for operations, putting aside physical therapy and rehabilitation. Straight for scalpel , easy money , ha? I knew, this type of operation is very dangerous, so I start to browse websites with chiropractors. I'm very happy , and lucky, I found Dr.Pawlusiewicz and his coworkers. They are type of people, who care about effectiveness theirs work. Fantastic experience: I went to Active Care Center for a post surgical rehabilitation on my left arm/hand from a motorcycle accident. The staff at the front desk is super friendly and accommodating. Dr. Albert and his team provide great service and results. My therapy sessions were done with Peter, he is very friendly, caring, knowledgeable, and just wonderful to work with. In my case I have started seeing great progress within 6 visits, swelling and bruises were going away and my range of motion have improved. I continued my sessions 3 times a week for another 4 week and got great results. I highly recommend to come here for a consultation with whatever problem you have, Dr. Albert and his team will get you back in shape. I will definitely come back if need be and to get my DOT medical done as I'm a truck driver, I heard nothing but good stuff from other drivers about this service here.

Manageable and multi-faceted care (not overwhelming, results quickly, no wasted time). Small, nimble staff. I hadn’t heard good things about physical therapy from friends and family, but this was definitely better than I had hoped for. My pain decreased significantly within 3 visits. If needed, I would go back.

I see him once in a while now, just to keep my herniated disk pain in check. Fantastic experience: I recommend this clinic to anyone with mobility problems, muscle aches, etc. For many months I had pain in my neck and arm and have been taking pills and warming ointments. After unsuccessful treatments, I went to the Active Care Center. Rehabilitation helped me regain good condition and get rid of months-long pain and suffering. After completing the rehabilitation regiment, I received a full exercise plan with precise guidelines that I can follow at home. I am grateful to Dr. Pawlusiewicz and my physical therapist Mr. Rypniewski for the wonderful treatment and providing me with comprehensive information regarding my health problems. At the clinic, the staff is very professional and supportive at every stage of the visit.

Fantastic experience: I was very pleased with the therapy I received at Active Care. Peter paid close attention to details of the exercises, emphasizing proper form which I appreciated. The exercises helped to strengthen my weaknesses and alleviate pain and were changed appropriately as I got stronger. I was also given printed out, follow-up exercises to do once done with therapy. I feel that Dr. Pawlusiewicz and Peter listen closely, have a hands-on approach and truly have your well being in their best interest.
