Fantastic experience: When my son was in High School he suffered from a pretty serious hamstring injury during his winter track season. Trainers at school suggested he see a Chiropractor. So, not having any experience with any Chiropractors I simply went to the internet looking up reviews and found Active Care with high reviews. Dr. Cress and Dr. Karm both are very professional, down to earth and took great care of my son. Even my son (17 yo at that time) enjoyed going and speaks very highly of them. How often do you here a young person praising anything medical related. Now lets fast forward to beginning of January 2014. I was suffering from "Tennis" elbow pain for a long time. I know there is a more fancy name for this but I cannot pronounce it :-) Within three weeks Dr. Cress had me fixed. Even now almost 5 months later I have no pain. I even hit the weights hard at the gym and I'm cool. Fact is that I am giving a lot of second thought as to even going back to my family physician as I would prefer to hear Dr. Cress or Dr. Karms opinion first. Oh yes may I also say that they actually listen to you instead of trying to rush you out of office and move onto next patient. Also, I have had two massages already and the Massage Therapist Sue is awesome. She really knows what she is doing and is very professional. I am a devoted Active Care patient.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Karm is wonderful. She takes the time to get to know her patients and what is hurting them. Then, she explains why the pain is occurring, then educates her patients on how to prevent the pain from returning. I recommend her to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Over 8 months ago I badly injured my rotator cuff in a snowboarding accident. Words cannot describe how painful this was and I was desperate to find help.. I had been to chiropractors in the past, but was nervous because I didn't know what to expect with this kind of serious injury. What drew me to this location was the helpful reviews and rehabilitation. I have to share with you that after meeting Dr. John Cress, and going to a few sessions, I improved very quickly. Dr. John Cress does not just stop with treatment, he informs you, and gives you a comprehensive view of how to improve and to re-build. I was given "at home help" that I could do on my own, along with a few weekly office sessions. After just 2 full months I had mobility back in my shoulder again! Please, take my word for it. Look no further. Dr. John Cress is by far the most professional, helpful, and informative doctor I have received care from. I will not be going anywhere else because of Dr. John Cress and his great amount of care, treatment, and preventive information I have received.

Fantastic experience: Several friends have rercommended Dr. Karm for years. Some for ailments and others for their prenatal care. After all that time of me saying, "I know I need to go", I am finally a regular patient. Dr. Karm is phenomenal in her professionalism, approachability, and technique. I'm so grateful I've found her. Her care together with massage therapy and at-home stretching is helping my chronic pain, neck, and shoulder pain associated with my career. I wish I would have come sooner!!! Fantastic experience: Dr. Karm is an amazing chiropractor! She listens to your concerns more than any doctor that I have ever been to. She truly cares about the outcome of your treatment. She doesn't rush you during appointments - she even remembered my other doctor appointments and asked how those had gone. I would recommend Dr. Karm to anyone seeking treatment, she is the best around.

Fantastic experience: I met Dr. Cress at the gym and finally went to see him when I had hip pain that prevented me from playing basketball. The office has a warm and welcoming feeling where the doctors are friendly and informative. As for Dr. Cress himself, he is an honest Doctor who is great at what he does. As he was identifying my hip issue, he walked me through the process, breaking it down step by step in a way that makes sense. He provided me with a clear solution that didn't require an extensive treatment process and his treatment plan of 6-8 visits was much less than I expected. I particular like how he said we were a team working on my injury and that we had to work together to make my injury heal faster. An added benefit was the instructional videos for rehab that Dr. Cress provided. I highly recommend Dr. Cress to anyone looking for a great chiropractor

Fantastic experience: Active Care has been my saving grace! I was not satisfied with my previous chiropractor and discovered Active Care in November 2012. Their initial evaluation was exceptionally thorough and each visit continues the same way. I have worked with both Dr. Cress and Dr. Karm and I like each of their approaches. When I started at Active Care, I had frequent neck/head pain, that to me seemed uncontrollable. With weekly adjustments and weekly massage therapy, I am able to better control the stress in my body, which means less migraines or bad headaches. It also means that I am able to workout more and my activity level is not so restricted. I love that I can go to Zumba or a spin class now and not worry that I will get more pain. Going to see Dr. Cress and Dr. Karm is a part of my regular routine to deal with stress. Also included in this routine is seeing massage therapist Cheryl weekly. When I am starting to feel pain in my neck/shoulders, I can come in for adjustments that day to avoid problems later in the week. When I meet with Dr. Karm, we often discuss healthy food options and alternatives to medicine. I find this very helpful and something that I had been looking for in a doctor. Additionally, my four year old son is very active and he is constantly growing. Because he has grown so quickly, he often gets growing pains in his legs. It has helped his legs and body for him to get adjustments from Dr. Karm and massage therapy from Cheryl. The Active Care team as whole are very friendly, approachable, and very knowledgeable. I am grateful every day for Active Care! -Beth Roberts What can I say about the team at Active Care, of course they are great, here’s why. I’m a pretty serious weightlifter whose focus is much more on power lifting than bodybuilding, but I do train all body parts. I’ve been able to keep my lifting poundages consistent and slowly climbing well into my 40s, getting up there. I was beginning to have all kinds of stabbing pain in my upper back which made it difficult to do heavy deads, squats, and overhead presses. Add to that my right front delt was so tight and inflexible it began affecting my bench, God forbid, anything except the bench! I have seen many chiropractors over the years some better than others. The chiro I was going could not get my back to adjust or move and had no answer for my delt tightness. His suggestion was that I had to slow down or quit. I began visiting Active Care. They were so thorough with their time spent working out my knotted-up tissue and getting things to move, as well as offering massage therapy by some fantastic professional ladies. The stabbing pain in my upper back went away in time and I was able to go heavy again. The delt tightness was partly the front delt and the inner bicep head that attaches under the arm pit. Doc Cress used a new technique I had read about called Active Release Therapy. Turns out my tendons in my shoulder area were so bound up that it was affecting my bench. The active release worked and now I’m benching pain free. They understand and can speak intelligently on sports medicine. Fantastic experience: I recently moved from Geneva, IL to Arlington Heights. I was looking for a chiropractor with a wealth of knowledge, a doctor who cared about my well being, and was experienced in acupuncture as a way of healing. I'm grateful to say, I found just that with Dr. Cress. He's a wonderful doctor who has helped me to heal. I continue my visits as part of my preventive care. After an adjustment I feel like a million bucks!

Fantastic experience: I injured my tailbone after a horrible fall down a flight of stairs. I was in bed for two weeks and could barely move; I could not bend over without being in pain. I visited Dr. Karm at Active Care, who gave me a few exercises to do every day. I would go in each week to get adjustments as well. Between the exercise and adjustments, I was 100% better within a month and a half. Dr. Karm is extremely warm and friendly, and she really listens to your concerns. I highly recommend Active Care and Dr. Karm.

Fantastic experience: Dr Cress and Dr Karm and the staff are fantastic. I'm Dr. Cress' patient and he's helped me time and time again with my ailments. I've had back issues and shoulder issues and the pain has been reduced significantly or non existent. I can't recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: THIS is the place to go when you need to be taken care of, fixed, and have a whole team of doctors and staff who care about your well being! Dr. Karm and Dr. Freseth are such compassionate and knowledgeable people! Many years ago, as a teacher, I hurt my back lifting boxes while packing up my classroom. Unable to resolve my pain with home exercise, I tried Dr. Karm. She helped realign me and her treatments put me back on track. Fast forward another couple of years and I was severely rear-ended leaving me with horrible back and neck pain. Dr. Karm worked her magic, bringing my body back to realignment and teaching me how to stretch and manage my pain. Her chiropractic knowledge along with massage therapy from Cheryl brought me back from pain to healthy. Since then I have been back for realignments and treatment. My husband also visits the practice. We are healthier thanks to the caring team at Active Care! It’s really not just a practice because we become a member of the Active Care family.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for several months and noticed an improvement in my overall back/neck discomfort. I like that when I come into the office, I'm greeted by name every time. The office has a calm atmosphere which for the time I'm there takes me to a relaxed state of mind. Fantastic experience: Oh my Gosh I can’t tell you how much I love this practice!!! I’ve seen all the docs through different stages and needs in life pregnancy to postpartum and now to natural health and wellness! But I gotta share my latest! I woke up with terrible migraine, I was nauseous, dizzy and otherwise not well! I usually just struggle through it, However with Thanksgiving days away and a schedule packed full with clients I knew I needed help and remembered Dr Karm telling me that an adjustment can make a huge difference. Not only did Dr. Karm help me then, but I no longer have the pain years later! Fantastic experience: After a bad experience at a chiropractor I found Active Care Chiropractic. I am so glad to have found them! Dr. Schwarzbeck is wonderful, takes the time to get to know your lifestyle and health to best assist. She also takes the time to explain what we will be doing that session and lays out the plan until next reevaluation. Feels super helpful especially in seeing improvements. Fantastic experience: Dr. Karm was a part of my birth support team this past fall when I was trying to go for a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). She performed the Webster technique with me to promote optimal positioning of my baby, as well as alleviated some lingering SI pain I felt in my third trimester. She also provided acupuncture to assist with my pregnancy to encourage the onset of labor. She is phenomenal to work with-and an amazing person to boot. In the end, I accomplished my goal and had my VBAC! I highly recommend her as an addition to your birth support team. Thanks Dr. Karm, I appreciate all of your help!

Fantastic experience: Our family LOVES Active Care. I started going to Dr. Karm after asking my OBGYN about the benefits of chiropractic care while pregnant. Dr. Karm helped prep me for labor with the Webster technique and acupuncture. I also had prenatal massages with Cheryl-they were awesome! Post pregnancy, we started bringing our baby Wesley to see Dr. Karm. At first, we were bringing him because he was gassy at night and it was affecting his sleep. Now we bring him because he is favoring his right side. Wes enjoys Dr. Karm so much, I think he may his first crush.

Fantastic experience: Dr Karm, Dr Mendez, and the rest of the team at Active Care always greet you with a smile. The whole team is professional and willing to assist with any questions. It is a great place for chiropractic care, massage therapy, and acupuncture. They take the time to listen to any concerns, answer any questions, and ensure that you are receiving the best care possible during and after visits. They continually assess patients for what is working and will modify care based on these assessments. I also love that I never once have felt like I am being sold a care package. The services outside of the chiropractic care are made aware as being available to you if they think it will help, but they never push patients use these services.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Mendez was fantastic. Everyone there is incredibly nice. Adjustments were effective and the excercises they recommended were incredibly helpful. Conversation during visits was always pleasant as well. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I would recommend Dr. Erin Emley to anyone! She is extremely kind and caring with her patients! She knows her stuff and listens with such a genuine heart to help.
