Pelvic Forward Physical Therapy: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I am so grateful to have worked with Amanda during pregnancy and to be currently working with her postpartum! She is a wealth of knowledge and truly provides a holistic perspective. There would 100% be a gap in my care if I weren’t visiting her.
Fantastic experience: Amanda is awesome. She is an expert in her field and adapts her approach to her patient's needs. I'm in a much better place thanks to her care.
Fantastic experience: I HIGHLY recommend Amanda for your pelvic PT needs. I came to her feeling completely distraught and unsure of how I would ever improve but she was so kind and reassured me that we would find a way if I stayed consistent with the exercises. She was so good about listening to my goals and helped me to achieve them. I feel safe and confident to move in my body again and I’m so so thankful for her support ❤️
Fantastic experience: Amanda is awesome. She is very knowledgable and skilled in Pelvic PT. She offered me great hope when I was at my lowest postpartum. She gave me great tools to make my pelvic floor stronger and got me back to my favorite thing of all time....running. Thanks Amanda!!
Fantastic experience: I don’t think words can describe my experience with Amanda, but I will try my best. I had heard about the benefits of Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy (PFPT) for the postpartum period, and while I was scoping providers, I came across Amanda’s very unique Birth Preparation Program package. My interest was peaked, and thus, when I met Amanda for my first appointment, I was pregnant, tired, and grumpy. Amanda is one of those people who has never met a stranger, and absolutely radiates energy. Immediately, she made me feel so comfortable being in a space that could potentially come with embarrassment or nerves. In short, walking into Amanda’s office is like walking into a great friend’s house — one where you feel completely at ease. I found that I would walk in from the parking lot exhausted, and once I made my way through her doorway, I was filled with excitement and joy. Amanda is an energy-giver. As for her professional services, I cannot sing higher praises! So much so that Amanda has completely changed my perspective on medical care; she has raised the standard I have for all providers, regardless of specialty. Truly, I consider her an integral part of my medical team. I have never felt so seen, heard, and cared for as I did under Amanda’s care. Her expertise is DEEP, yet she is so gifted in finding ways to connect and describe anatomical, hormonal, and physiological changes as they relate to you in clear, informative ways. Internal assessments are entirely optional, and even though this was well within my comfort zone, Amanda still communicates extremely clearly as to what will occur, why, and her findings. Amanda goes above in beyond in providing information, providing examples (and samples!), and providing guidance. This was such a pleasant shock to me coming from standard care where I would leave feeling either rushed, with many questions left unanswered, or like nothing happened at all. Amanda will spend 1-2 HOURS with you — yes! You read that correctly! Some items that Amanda left me with are things that I will never forget — they deeply impacted me. First, community. We cannot do this whole life thing on our own; it takes a village. Second, providers that understand that you are the expert of your own body exist. And lastly, the way she so expertly prepared me for childbirth was astounding. Newsflash to me, it is not like “taking a massive d*mp” or even “pushing out a tampon” as other people had described to me. Entirely the opposite! After working with Amanda, I was able to directly see the fruits of our time together during childbirth, and honestly, I could not help but grin and think about her during the fact (not an exaggeration). That is the impact she had on me and my experience as a birthing person, and preparation for doing so. While I now believe everyone should go to PFPT and that is should be automatic postpartum, surely no one desires to feel like they have an issue that needs to be addressed through PFPT. However, leaning into the fact that working with Amanda was truly a life-changing experience for me, I was — wait for it — *excited* to see her for postpartum care, and I will continue to utilize Amanda through postpartum and beyond. All of this to say, I shout this from to rooftops to all who will listen: Go see Amanda. She is an exceptional healer. You will not regret it.
Fantastic experience: Amanda is very professional and detail oriented. She took the time to thoroughly understand my issues and create a plan customized for me. She always made sure I understood the exercises and was able to complete them independently without issue. Amanda did an excellent job explaining what she was doing, why and the purpose of all movements. She’s a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend her for your pelvic floor needs.
Fantastic experience: Amanda is truly the best medical provider of any sort that I have ever had! She is so skilled and talented and so incredibly friendly and encouraging. It is obvious she truly cares for her patients and makes these appointments as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I cannot recommend her enough, she is awesome!
Fantastic experience: I saw Amanada during pregnancy and postpartum. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, organized, kind, and fun! I really enjoyed my experience working with her and I highly recommend getting in touch with her for any pelvic floor PT needs.
Fantastic experience: Amanda was a Godsend to me post-partum. I wish I had known about her after my first pregnancy but I'm so grateful that she came highly recommended to me this time around, after baby #2. She's extremely skilled and knowledgeable in all things pelvic floor and she has a way of educating her patients so that we can apply exercise, knowledge, manual skills, supplements and other strategies to maximize recovery. She's easy to talk to about subjects that could otherwise be uncomfortable, and he has a way of setting her patients at ease. It's very apparent that she truly cares. Highly, highly recommend to anyone post partum.
Fantastic experience: Amanda is very professional and I loved getting to work with her. I was referred to her by my doctor and she was able to get me in just a few weeks after I contacted her. I have been riding horses all my life and I found that my body balance was way off and that was starting to cause issues for me while strength training. I have learned so much about how to take care of myself! I was nervous at first to see a pelvic floor PT, but the results I have gotten from going have been amazing and I am so glad I started going! Amanda works at your pace and has never made me feel uncomfortable. I highly recommend working with Amanda.
Fantastic experience: I I am very thankful to have met Amanda. She had a clear approach to addressing my specific needs, answering my questions and helping me feel good in my body. I have been able to incorporate her suggestions into my daily activities and can feel huge improvement in the way my body feels. The pains I thought I have to accept and deal with are gone and I couldn’t feel happier
Fantastic experience: When I came to Amanda, I was hopelessly in a lot of pelvic floor pain. Amanda’s expertise in pelvic floor are exceptional. I had used many pelvic floor therapist and was wary of anything being truly successful. She worked with my personality, strengths, and weaknesses to achieve success.
Fantastic experience: I knew that pelvic floor therapy after giving birth is considered a must in other countries, such as France, so I dutifully went to see one after the arrival of my first child in 2019. I left the unnamed place perplexed - they did not do anything other than examine me by having me squeeze with their finger inside me and then tell me to do 80 kegels at a time, multiple times per day. When I had my second child I decided to try another place and I was BLOWN AWAY by the difference with Amanda. She is as thorough as she is professional. She immediately figured out which muscles in my hips, abdomen etc.were not firing in the right sequence and were causing my back to hurt. I'm fairly good with anatomy but she has taught me so much. Even the way she explains kegels is so interesting. It turns out they are a three stage event, who knew! Every time i see her, there are new things to test and try, and every time my homework is more challenging and my back hurts less and less in spite of carrying around two growing kids. I really can't recommend her highly enough, for post-partem as well as any other pelvic issues you might have that can benefit from a good therapist, whether you have a female or a male pelvis. Just go see her, you’ll be glad you did!
Fantastic experience: I truly think PT should be automatic in post-partum care. I had two kids in two years and am an endurance runner on top of that and found myself with a lot of pelvic dysfunction and pain. Pelvic PT takes a special person, and Amanda is certainly that. She creates a safe space to talk about and work through sensitive issues and takes the time to understand you as a person, parent, and athlete to help you return to full function.
Fantastic experience: Amanda was absolutely wonderful to work with during and after my pregnancy. I was impressed by her wealth of knowledge and professionalism. Not only did I learn a lot from her, but her fun personality made it an even better experience!
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience working with Amanda! She helped me get back to distance running after delivery. Thankful for her guidance during my postpartum journey!
Fantastic experience: I can't say enough amazing things about Amanda. She helped me see that the pain I thought I would have to simply live with forever was actually treatable. (And her treatments are WORKING!! Hallelujah!) She explains things clearly, speaks and listens without judgement and is just all around a joy to work with. I wholeheartedly recommend her!
Fantastic experience: I am a 31 year old weightlifter who has never had a child so I came in frustrated that I was having pelvic floor and incontinence issues while lifting (specifically squats and cleans). Amanda was a great educator and helped me overcome this issue very quickly (in two months). I am beyond impress and happy. To all my weightlifting friends peeing themselves, go see Amanda!!
Fantastic experience: Amanda is an absolute master at her craft! Combining a deep intuition of the human form with a honed and well-practiced expertise, she brings a skillful approach to the transformation of your body. Her infectious positivism and genuine interest in her patient's well-being have lasting effects long beyond your appointment times, and her well-rounded approach provides all of the stacking blocks you need to succeed. Going to Pelvic Forward is a definitive game-changer!
Fantastic experience: Amanda is the absolute best. Hands down. I had just moved to Asheville from NYC when I found out I as pregnant, and I couldn't believe it when I discovered there was a pelvic floor PT here in town...and that she's a masterful one, no less! Thanks to Amanda's expertise and guidance, my back pain has actually significantly *decreased* during my pregnancy (how many folks can say that? wow!). I also came to Amanda very concerned with unknowingly hurting myself and not recovering from birth effectively...she gave me such wonderful advice and I left each of our sessions feeling super empowered (I also genuinely enjoyed hanging out with her each session, #friendcrush). I feel incredibly confident and ready for birth now, and I look forward to sessions with Amanda on the postpartum side. She's the best.
Fantastic experience: Amanda is extremely knowledgeable- which helps her meet the patient where they are. She is always willing to answer questions and does a great job making you feel comfortable and heard. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: I have had a great experience working with Amanda! I couldn't believe it, but my symptoms improved working with her for just a few weeks. She is deeply knowledgeable, and because of this, she's helping me with problems beyond what I originally went to see her for. I highly recommend her business.
Fantastic experience: Amanda is amazing, and by far one of the best physical therapists in any specialty I've seen. I went to her in preparation for a hip surgery, and left feeling more knowledgable and confident in my body as a whole. She is one of the very few professionals I've had who has voiced the importance of both physical *and* mental well-being, which is so incredibly important. I'd recommend her to anyone of any age - so thankful I found her!
Fantastic experience: Amanda is a great therapist, very knowledgeable and helpful!
Fantastic experience: Amanda is an all-around wonderful person and practitioner. She is personable, knowledgeable, and has her patients' wellbeing at the forefront. I am immensely grateful for her encouragement, guidance, and expertise, and enthusiastically recommend her!
Fantastic experience: I started seeing Amanda during my pregnancy and again postpartum. I HIGHLY recommend her! She helped me tremendously in pregnancy when nothing else was working and made me feel functional again! She took a great deal of time listening and getting to know me and my history. She is full of knowledge and answered all my questions every session. I really appreciated the handouts after each time (hello pregnancy and mom brain!). I am now six months postpartum and feeling great. I truly believe seeing a pelvic physical therapist is critical and Amanda is the best! She is wonderful person and I always looked forward to my appointments. Thanks again for all you do!
Fantastic experience: Amanda is beyond wonderful to have as a physical therapist! So happy to have found her. She made me feel comfortable from day one and never made my feelings or thoughts of worry/distress feel invalid. I highly recommend the healing practice she offers :) A side note I have for future patients.....remember healing takes time and to be kind to yourself but take ownership in your healing progress by keeping up with the at home activities Amanda highly suggest you do.
Fantastic experience: Amanda was wonderful to work with, professional, patient, kind and a great person to just talk to. I highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Amanda is a very caring professional who always takes the time to listen and to educate. She is extremely competent, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I highly recommend her services.
Fantastic experience: My experience with Amanda has been pretty life changing. I'm working my way into my 40's and have lead a fairly physical life. Unfortunately my pick yourself up by your bootstraps attitude is starting to show it's age. While refusing to go gently into my goodnight I am realizing I must go gently into my own healing if I expect to continue to do the things I want and need to. Amanda has been a catalyst to help my body heal and change old patterns. I've seen continued improvement since starting with her. My life is starting to feel within my control again without the pain that was holding me back. She has been supportive and intuitive, I feel heard during our sessions as she helps me build a arsenal of tools that I can use to continue the life I want for myself. If you're thinking about physical therapy I highly recommend Amanda to help you on your journey to a pain free future too.
Fantastic experience: After 3 years of chronic hip issues and seeing many specialists, I was finally referred to Amanda at Pelvic Forward and have gratefully landed on the path to recovery. Her knowledge, compassion and pace are the scaffolding for genuine progress. She is an expert also at making you feel completely at ease, even when you are hurting. If there had been an option to give a 6th star to this review, I would.
Fantastic experience: Amanda is an enthusiastic wealth of knowledge of the pelvis and body. She helped me greatly during my pregnancy to understand the changes happening in my body and maintaining my strength and flexibility as I prepared to have my baby. I recommend Amanda for anyone having pelvic floor issues and especially pregnant and postpartum people. She is an amazing therapist!
Fantastic experience: Amanda has so much enthusiasm for the work that she does, it is absolutely contagious. Her desire to help me heal so I can continue to run faster paces has been energizing for me to work hard and get better. The Pelvic Floor is a mystery to most athletes and having someone help me understand the muscular structure and the work the PF does was a huge first step. It is really hard to stretch/release/heal a group of muscles you don't know anything about! When it comes to strengthening and moving past Pelvic Floor issues Knowledge is Power - Amanda is wealth of knowledge. I highly recommend a visit if you're having unsolvable glute, hip, hamstring problems as it just might not be any of those things aggravating you.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Pelvic Forward. Amanda has knowledge and skills that made the difference in my recovery from multiple pelvis issues. Problems I thought would be with me forever are now in the past and I have the ability to address them myself if they return.
Fantastic experience: Looks like I’m joining a chorus of praise for this wonderful person! Amanda is brilliant and intuitive. She has such an incredible depth of knowledge about the human body and works tirelessly to help her patients. I went to her when I found out I was pregnant with my second child; I wanted to avoid the pain that I experienced during my first pregnancy. After my very first visit I felt relief from pain in my back and feet that I had for over 10 years that my body had just become used to. I am SO glad I found her and am grateful for all that she has done for me. GO SEE AMANDA! You won’t regret it!
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Amanda's Push Forward series!!! I have done birthing classes, read a million books, etc and this series with Amanda has hands down made me feel most prepared for labor and delivery. Amanda is incredibly thorough and informative. It's totally worth the money!
Fantastic experience: Working with Ms. Hayes Fugate was really rewarding and very eventful. She is very knowledgeable and has years of experience in her field. She is truly one of the best providers I have ever encountered in health care. In addition, she is caring, personal and thoughtful. Her suggestions for treatment and personal care products and exercises have brought me to a very comfortable place. Additionally, I enjoyed every encounter with her due to her warm and generous personality. I highly recommend her as a professional provider.
Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about Amanda she helped me tremendously. With my first pregnancy I had horrible symphysis pubis dysfunction and thought this is the way it was to be. I started to see her after the birth of my first and continued through the birth of my second. She was amazing and I truly believe she is the reason my second pregnancy was pain free. Amanda Cares for her patients and is devoted to her work and helping others. She would go as far as to FaceTime me when I was in desperate need and walk me through treatments. She followed up with me even when I was a bad patient and would forget to touch base just because she CARED. If your considering a pelvic therapist I highly recommend her, she is extremely knowledgeable and has an awesome personality.
Fantastic experience: I had immediate relief of pain after I started working with Amanda for a postpartum issue that I thought was not even treatable. Her immense knowledge, passion for her work, and genuine care for her patients results in top notch care. I advocate getting therapy for anything in the pelvis or lower back so as to prevent issues in the future, especially for postpartum women. Amanda can help you and WANTS to help you as long as you follow the program she creates for you. What's great too is she also wants to hear your point of view of what's working and what's not, so it's collaborative informed approach. I highly recommend Amanda!
Fantastic experience: I was extremely impressed with Amanda at our first visit. While I came in to her practice due a recommendation from someone I trusted, I couldn't imagine that she would end up being so knowledgeable, helpful, and compassionate through my pregnancy journey. I am now four months postpartum, and I attribute my near-100% mobility and recovery to Amanda's expert help. Highly Recommend!
Fantastic experience: When i first came to Amanda i had been having chronic back issues and started having pelvic floor symptoms. I thought i was going to need surgery to fix my symptoms. But, with Amanda's knowledge and expertise she showed me that i didn't need surgery at all. She helped resolve the symptoms i was having and she helped me get my life back. I am now getting back to doing the things i loved such as running and biking. I will forever be thankful for Amanda.
Fantastic experience: Amanda was great to work with! I did the PUSH forward package to prepare for the birth of my first child in January. Amanda helped me learn how to activate pelvic floor muscles and how to relax these muscles during labor. I felt more prepared in the delivery room when it came time to push and the nurse actually commented that I was pushing really well - as if this was not my first child. This was the result of my work with Amanda during our PT sessions. Amanda also provided me with an exercise plan to rehab these muscles post-partum.
Fantastic experience: Amanda was incredible in her care and persistence in finding a solution for me with a complicated medical diagnosis. She goes above and beyond and is so much more than a pelvic floor PT. She was able to help me with other musculoskeletal issues and assist me in learning how to change my body mechanics to better serve my overall health. Her office space is really comfortable and takes away the fearful medical “edge” that so many offices have. She’s professional but compassionate and very skilled at what she does. I wish I could give her 6 stars!!
Fantastic experience: Amanda is a kind, brilliant, and talented practitioner. She listens deeply and brings you on a journey to heal yourself that is much gentler and more empowering than medications or drastic procedures. She has an astounding knowledge base for what she does and will help you understand things about your body that you didn't even know were there. I went to her with issues I didn't understand that my doctors couldn't begin to solve and came out of the experience with so much improvement and relief. I would recommend her to anyone and I plan to!
Fantastic experience: This woman is AHHHHmazing! As a bodyworker and yoga instructor myself, she tapped into issues I could not address alone even with a decade of experience. She is not only a wealth of knowledge in her field but energetically uplifting and passionate. She gives you the necessary tools and instruction in order to help heal yourself! A godsend, not kidding.
Fantastic experience: Having Amanda as my Pelvic Physical Thearpist has changed my life. I came to Amanda in such intense pain I couldn’t walk. I was pregnant, and no one wanted to treat my pain. No one would even run any tests to discover what was wrong. Amanda was gentle, listed intently to my issues, and created results within my first visit with her. I discovered ways to manage, improve, and control my pain in relation to my whole self. It’s not just standard treatment from Amanda, she educates so you can become more capable of handling flares on your own and encourages working with other practitioners for the best results for her patients. She was an advocate for me to my OBGYN, General Practitioner, and other medical professionals, often educating those in the medical field to my unique symptoms and how they could help me in healing. She was encouraging and even researched items on my behalf in her off time. Amanda not only treated my symptoms she taught me about my condition, so I could help myself. I found her to be exceptionally knowledgeable throughout my treatment process and would recommend her to anyone suffering with pelvic issues. Also, if you have even seen an PT or Pelvic PT before and not been impressed- trust me, just like in all professions not everyone is equal. This is top of the line physical health and wellness!
Fantastic experience: Amanda is amazing! Her knowledge and care made me feel so supported and prepared pre-labor. I learned a ton about my body during our time together and feel ready to bounce back post-labor with the techniques she gave me. I highly recommend working with her!
Fantastic experience: Amanda is a brilliant, intuitive practitioner and a game changer in the healing process. If you are dealing with pelvic issues she is the go to!
Fantastic experience: What can I say...Amanda basically helped me return to my normal self, not have a shockingly disabling "side effect" of pregnancy- symphysis pubis disfunction. Never heard of it before I got it. Some people referred to it as lightning crotch- and let me tell you, it sure was! It was painful to walk, to turn in bed, to get in and out of the car...you get the idea...Amanda not only worked on my body to help with this , but gave me tools and exercises to overcome it. Also, she prepared me for the actual birth, coached me on my breathing and what to do during the pushing stage- again, things I didn't know about before ( and I took birthing class with my first pregnancy!)- I had to re learn a lot of things I knew about my anatomy and physiology. And (!) she gave me tools on how to get back to my body after the birth. Can't thank Amanda enough!
