Fantastic experience: I care for a very high-level care woman who has mental health issues as well as Dementia. This is one of the few places that would accept a patient with all of these issues, which I commend them for. The patient care that she received was always wonderful. The people who work here truly care for the patient and from the Office to the patient care floors they do their best to take care of these people and treat them with respect. We have had very low-level care in other facilities, and I would rather send them to Wyant Woods to be cared for than somewhere fancy that treats their patients like gum on their shoe. The Dementia and Alzheimer's unit should get 5 stars all the way around. The Nursing and STNAs on this level are amazing and I will miss their care and kindness for someone who is very difficult to be kind to. The building is not fancy. It is run down and older. The people who work there do their very best to keep things clean and care for these high-level care patients at all times. They are VERY understaffed - as are all nursing homes - and are in need of cleaning staff to help them. The company that owns them should be giving them more in this aspect. The employees deserve to be cared for as well as the patients. Thank You Wyant Woods for everything you did and will continue to do without recognition. May you be blessed beyond measure.

Negative experience: Our brothers wallet was stolen The place is dirty, they have not gotten him up to walk or for therapy and other patients said they were missing wallets cell phones and other items with no resolution. UPDATE relative was able to get answers to questions and the staff is trying to address all concerns Just wish the floors and room was clean The facility needs new paint and cheery atmosphere as it is a mental health facility Otherwise the staff has been helpful since concerns were brought up to Amanda Teresa and Stephanie with physical therapy and we are pleased with the progress

Positive experience: UPDATE: 12/21/24 - I had come to the fact that my correspondence with my father would be never if any. Then I receive a call from a NEW SOCIAL WORKER STEPHANIE G. Stephanie has been a blessing. She has gone out of her way to use her own phone to let me FaceTime my father on several occasions. Stephanie has gone above and beyond anyone that I have tried to correspond with. It has been a blessing. Whomever hired her needs to realize her value and pay her accordingly. Having a good person as an employee is a blessing for your establishment please give her what she needs to help others. Thank you Stephanie. UPDATE: 09/ 16/24 - spoke to a social worker (who seemed so concerned about my worries) a week ago and she made plans so we could do a FaceTime every Friday @ 2. It was supposed to start 09/13 @ 2. I waited and no call. I also called the social worker and left a message. I have NOT received a call. I took off of work early so I could put my full attention on that call. Thanks again Wyant. A half day of lost pay and still another lie. Have the day you deserve. God bless My father has been in this facility for awhile now. I have been trying to call so he knows I haven’t forgotten him. I live out of state and want to make sure he is ok. I have tried to call this facility over and over. Maybe out of 15 calls (if you are lucky) they might pick up. If they do pick up they disconnect you. I have talked to everyone I can. Nurses, social workers and supposedly the person that runs the facility to see what can be done. I explained that family should be able to call and reach someone to check up on a loved one. Everyone says they understand but their actions speak way louder. I know taking care of others is a hard job but I didn’t chose the job they did. All I’m asking is for someone to do it. I’ve called 3 times this week (06/09/24-06/15/24) NO ANSWER!!!!! I’m at my wits end and don’t know what to do. It’s really sad. To anyone wanting to put their loved one in this facility please do your research. I can only speak from my experience and it’s not reassuring. Please do something so family members can speak to their loved ones. I’m sure if it was their mother or fathers they wouldn’t appreciate the treatment or worries.

Positive experience: Thank God they got Kim outta there! Her title shouldn’t have anything with the word “human” in it, she sucked at her position. Edit… I upgraded my rating to 3 stars instead of 1 star because the new Human Resources replacement Melanie is just great. If Wyant Woods get everything wrong with the hiring process, Melanie Quiggle is what they got right! Thanks for all that you do Mel

Negative experience: Update** This place is a joke, my mother has had items & money stolen out of her room 3 times now GET IT TOGETHER!** 4 visits now to visit my mother after her surgery. The staff if you wish to call that is rude or just plan out doesn't not want to do their job. There are some few good workers.. but the place is just plain out disgusting was dried blood on the floor. Told a staff member about the issue and not even a hour later was it cleaned up.

Negative experience: Ding dong the wicked witch is on her way out I hear. A shame Communicare let her and a worthless administrator stay until they destroyed the place. The ratings say it all!! Whatever facility gets these 2 BEWARE

Fantastic experience: It's a LTC facility that specializes in mental health. You're not going to get a 5 star hotel vibe, it's definitely dated. The staff genuinely care for the residents and facility is able to manage behaviors.

Negative experience: My brother-in-law was recently sent to this facility because of behavioral problems of dementia/schizophrenia. They suggested we not visit until he had been there a few weeks. I then got a phone call asking if I was his family member. When I answered yes, the caller stated "Well, he's dead". I don't know if this is only ignorance or lack of humanity on the part of this employee or maybe its the attitude that since these people are old and some demented, that families don't care about them. Either way, it made me worry about how the patients were cared for by these employees. I will not allow anyone else that I care for to darken the door. I am a practicing nurse and am often asked for recommendations. None for this place. Administration there needs to be more selective in hiring practices and to better educate their employees on how to deal with patients and families in stressful situations.

Negative experience: I have a dear friend who has been there for probably a year now and he's in a miserable place. They're very mean and rude to him and at one point he was pushed over in his wheelchair backwards. I've complained to several agencies and have contacted this company to explain the situation to have it fixed to no avail. They keep taking things from him and this is just unacceptable. When I show up with arms full to give him supplies, they stare at me through the other door across the hall, while I'm standing there holding heavy items and they just take their time, walk out real slow to let me in. Then when I talk to them, very professional, they sometimes just stare at me and don't even reply. Many times I'm greeted with sarcasm and I'm not making this up. I'm a professional and I've dealt with the public in many factors and many forms and I can tell you right now that this place needs to be investigated for possible abuse and/or neglect, by either the parent company or it's investors. If something isn't done, it's going to come back on them, because I'm not sure if anybody else is doing what I'm doing, but I'm documenting everything. My friend was put there on his own accord. He's just waiting on something so he can be released and he has been there over a year. It was supposed to take a couple months. This whole time has been one nightmare after another. he tells me everyday he feels like he's in prison. And based on what I can tell, it sure seems like that. This company needs to wake up before they get in deep trouble. One last note, if anybody out there thinks I'm just blowing wind, take this into consideration. My father owned a private nursing home. I grew up while he had that business. I was in that facility everyday, working with my father, the nurses and aids. I know how a nursing facility should be run. I know how people should be treated. I know the despair of the elderly and how it's very important to keep their spirits high. I know when somebody's being mistreated. I know. Yes, I do know.

Negative experience: If you care about being respected, or valued, if customer service is important to you, do not come here. They have wronged me and has taken me on a 4 month process of excuses. Not once did anyone 1.) apologize or 2.) at least thank me for my patience. They gave me the silent treatment when they owed me money and disregarded my emails asking for an update on the process. When I finally Sent word to the administrator, then suddenly the business office manager emailed me back. This is unacceptable. She didn’t even begin the process that was supposed to have been done and completed within 2 weeks. Then if that wasn’t bad enough, gave me attitude. How many emails and phone calls do I have to make for something minor to be rectified. And not even an apology? As if it’s somehow my fault for not getting paid? I did my part. I’ve been waiting months to find out if they’re going to do theirs. Furthermore, I called 3 times tonight to ask for contact information to the administrator. 1.) That phone rang a total of 2 minutes before someone picked up. I did not get a name. And they somehow hung up on me without any indication why. I called again. It rang a total of 2 minutes again. I was told “give me a minute” and then I heard a dial tone. I called a third time. They did not know the administrators name, they didn’t know contact information, and then when I asked to be sent to his voicemail, they didn’t know how to transfer the call. Or they just didn’t care. This is egregious. No retirement home should be this bad. Why is customer service not top priority here? If people treat me with such disrespect and if I have to call a hundred times just to receive disrespect and attitude, why would I recommend this to a loved one? Why would anyone think that they care about customer service? Their website states that they are person-centered. The people they are centered on is themselves as has been displayed numerous times. Never do business with people who don’t care about basic courtesy.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are amazing, and very attentive to the residents. The facility is a little on the older side, but they doo a good job maintaining it and keeping it clean.

Jason C (Jmac) 5 years ago

Fantastic experience: Don't believe the negative reviews on here they are a few disgruntled employees that did not expect the work load involved at a facility like this. The residents are treated as though they are family, and the facility is kept nice and clean.

Negative experience: I'm in here now. It's been a week and I've had my clothes stolen and important paperwork. I'm homeless and I had places and numbers to apply for renting and phone numbers.. I'm so mad. How dare they treat people this way!!

Negative experience: We placed our brother at Wyant Woods to be cared for, he was there over a year. We found a new skilled home for him, to have him closer to home. The social worker Gail told him NOT to tell his family when he was leaving, they refused to give him his money when leaving now he has to wait 2 to 3 months for everything to be transferred, social worker would never return phone calls, she scalded him during a phone meeting regarding bathing saying he was not doing it, I thought that was there jobs to make sure he was doing that. They did not take very good care of him hygiene wise AT ALL his face is full of hair, his nails have not been clipped. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this facility for your loved ones, and the social worker definitely needs to find a new career I don't feel they deserve the 1 star just because of the social worker herself.

Wyant Woods Healthcare Center

Negative experience: Horrible facility! I was visiting a resident and her nails grew longer than 4 inches. Nails had old dried up food and old residue underneath. I was in dining area and alarm was going off because a resident went out the door to the patior. The alarm was going off for 5 mins before any of the staff noticed. While walking the halls there was a blind resident in the wrong hallway asking for someone's help. A nurse was standing there but told him to move over so people past. He said can someone please help please and she just kept walking past. I helped him and asked his room number so I then guided him to his room. Again he was blind!!!! Don't send anyone you love to live!
