Fantastic experience: A zillion stars for this wonderful facility that took such good care of me after I broke my hip. My husband and friends checked out the three skilled nursing facilities in Auburn and liked this one the best. I am so happy that I came here after I left the hospital. The staff are professional and friendly, and bend over backwards to keep the residents comfortable and happy. This included some residents with dementia and some people who were just "difficult". The staff treated each person with respect and infinite patience. Certified physical and occupational therapists worked with me every day and quickly moved me from bed ridden to wheel chair to walker to cane. Likewise I went from bed pan to commode to a real bathroom. I celebrated every promotion. The facilities are not new, but neither are they cold and sterile like the hospital. Picture a country inn with chandeliers, wall paper and charming antique furniture. There are about 75 permanent and temporary residents at any time. Long ago most rooms each held three beds, but now it is two. This leaves the center bay for guest chairs and equipment, leaving plenty of room around the beds if you are on a wheel chair or walker. There is a big sliding glass double door in each room leading outside, so there is plenty of air and light. Each bed has a private tv, with a cordless headphone so you don't disturb your room mate. There are also lounges and a "cafe" for bigger gatherings. The food was very, very good. I was hoping to drop a few pounds during my stay, but that did not happen. Each week you fill out a menu preference sheet for the next week. I don't know how they keep track of the diets and preferences for 75 people, but they even got it down to what between-meal and bedtime snacks you like. There is a general dining room, for those on special diets or needing assistance with eating. I ate in "fine dining", a separate restaurant like area with chandeliers and big swag draped windows. There is a server who waits on the tables, just like in a restaurant. Pain management is an emphasis area, but the nurses were very stringent about their record keeping. I saw no one "whacked out" on too many meds. Likewise, no one is ever confined in any way, even the people with dementia. The staff knows each person and keeps a close eye on residents who want to wander away outside, or those who are a falling risk. There are daily activities to keep everyone busy, such as chair yoga, card games, bingo, movies, auctions, etc. I made many friends among the residents and staff, and plan to visit when I am able to drive again.

Positive experience: I am a veteran and a resident here at North Auburn Rehab Center. I came here for therapy related to my need for prosthetic rehab and strengthening so I could return to independent living. The facility director, Bobbie Cheville, is very caring and giving, and has been very helpful to me these past few months. Therapy has been great and I am just about ready to get to my own place. Thank you for the great care and support from management and staff here.

Positive experience: My husband came to Auburn Rehab after a bout with respiratory failure, and sepsis. He has Multiple sclerosis . After 4 weeks he came out able to use his walker for transfers and walking short distances as he did before. The Therapy Portion is amazing. The most notable thing about Auburn Rehab is that the Managers and Staff have. HEART. There are lots of moving parts and all towards making this a 5 star place . Although not perfect Communication between staff members and Sanitation are on the upswing. Make sure you check your loved ones meal tickets to make sure dietary needs are not overlooked . Many new people are being hired . My suggestion to anyone who may go there is to ask social services for a care conference for your loved one and see if you can figure out how your expectations match with reality of what a nursing home has to offer . They have many residents and will accommodate you since you know your loved one best . Any suggestions you may have will help all the residents and staff . While some of the other rehabs rejected my husband over expensive Multiple Sclerosis medicines Auburn Rehab does not discriminate . Thanks Auburn Rehab for taking my husband under your wings.

Fantastic experience: The Admission Coordinator, Alissa Rodrigo and an Administrator, named Monic, were very helpful in sharing info and assisting with the admission of a good friend of mine. Both of these ladies had great people skills and assisted the process in every way possible...plus this was on a Sunday afternoon when other nursing homes were not even answering their phones. Hopefully the future care of my friend will be worthy of 5 stars as well.

Positive experience: My experience with the staff was all positive and helpful on this visit. I don't understand why no phones for my aunt in her room so I bought her one. Also no bathroom for visitors I drove 3 hours.
