Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best Occupational Therapist I have seen. My son has Autism and Sensory Disorder, and Maria picked up exactly what he wouldn't do and would do when it came to any exercises or sensory tools. She was very good at being able to get him engaged in an activity to evaluate him, and there was no fight from him at all. This was the first appointment he has ever left and told me he didn't want to leave. He really liked her, and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Fantastic experience: We have used Functional Kids services for almost 2 years with our two younger children (OT and counseling). Our kids are treated more than just a number. Miss Lori is very missed in the Battle Creek location. We are welcomed by name by amazing receptionists.

Fantastic experience: I have had my son at fictional kids for ot for almost a year and I have seen a big change in him. We have picked up so many new way to get him to calm down and new ways to deal with things better when he is upset. His teachers have been a real big help even on his not so good days. I strongly recommend fictional kids therapy.

Fantastic experience: FUNctional Kids Therapy Center LLC has made a huge difference in the short time Palmer has been there for OT. Ms Maria has been incredible with Palmer. He went from having difficulties walking to being able to confidently walk and run. His balance has improved so much, from the first session barely being able to stay in a upright sitting position on the swing, to now hanging on and feeling in control of his muscles. We are beyond thankful for the impact Maria has had on Palmer!

Dr. Jo is very calm and patient, does a great job calming him and encouraging him to put in the work. We have already seen him improve in his ability to sit, grasp objects and head control. Would highly recommend, and we look forward to our next appointment!

Fantastic experience: After YEARS of witnessing and trying to help my son with his academic, sensory, social, and self-esteem struggles, FUNctional Kids has been the answer to my many prayers and tears if I want to be completely honest. The first conversation I had with Maria, quickly eased all my worries, and I knew IMMEDIATELY that this was the right place for support for my son. My son made such a quick turnaround and SIGNIFICANT improvements in ALL the areas he had struggled for years, it was almost too good to believe. This is THE place. Every staff member is extremely knowledgeable, capable, honest, and wants to HELP your child and quickly pave and lead them to a better future. I cannot recommend this place more highly if I could. And I have the evidence. He has been a patient for only 4.5 months, and just received the best progress report and conference of his ENTIRE SCHOOL CAREER. He is in 3rd grade for reference. This also has helped him finally start to “become” his true self. All the struggles he had for years affected his personal development. He is confident, his smile is finally a TRUE one, and I can SEE my son through the clouds that have previously surrounded him. Thank you all! I will be forever grateful.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been seeing Miss Lori for approximately 6 months. We had seen two different occupational therapists at Oaklawn prior to coming to FUNctional Kids (when my daughter was 3 and then again at age 5), and over time we realized that she (and we!) would benefit from seeking additional OT for her sensory and emotional needs. We truly loved our Oaklawn OTs, but I am so grateful that we tried FUNctional Kids for this third round at the recommendation of a friend who had also sought OT at Oaklawn for her son with SPD. We live in Battle Creek, but I would drive a significant distance for the quality of care that my daughter has received at FUNctional Kids. From the evaluation onward, Miss Lori has been professional, warm, kind, caring, involved, and informative. I feel incredibly empowered as a parent by the way she keeps me in the loop and provides additional tools, resources, and recommendations for us to use at home with our daughter. Our entire home has benefitted from Miss Lori’s patient, inclusive approach; she truly works with the parents to help support the child! Our daughter adores Miss Lori and has such a special connection with her. It’s a genuine joy each week to go to therapy! I’m grateful for the growth I’ve seen in my daughter - not just in her physical capabilities and increase in tolerance, but in her emotional resiliency as well. I will always be grateful that we sought this additional therapy for our daughter!

Fantastic experience: My son is in both speech and occupational therapy through functional kids and not only does he love going (he never wants to leave) but his progress in his speech in just the year we have been going is almost unbelievable. He has made great strides with his sensory issues through occupational therapy. All of the staff is amazing and work so well with my son.

Fantastic experience: Both of my kids go to functional kids. my oldest has been going since he was 3 months old for torticollis he has great range of motion now at 2 years old and continues services in OT and Speech after finding out he was hearing impaired and on the spectrum. I can now hear him say I love you momma everyday. He never talked till we started working with gretta. kimberly has helped him with several motor skills and communication skills. he can now use writing utensils without chewing on them and his meltdowns that use to last hours are down to 2 to 5 minutes. my youngest just started with kimberly but has been joining visits with my oldest since he was a newborn. I was very happy to know that we would be able to continue our adventure with functional kids instead of finding somewhere else to go. the staff is very understanding of our situation and does everything to make it easier not just on the kids but myself as well. I would never go with another center. my kids know the staff and love working with them.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Functional kids! Ms. Sarah has been working with all 3 of my kids for reading tutoring with the EBLI curriculum and they have grown so much confidence in their reading in just a short time! So thankful for her passion to help struggling kids.

She goes above and beyond to build a relationship with my son so he feels comfortable with her and can focus on working hard. He had made a tremendous amount of progress with his handwriting, emotional regulation, sensory processing as well as his gross and fine motor skills! Fantastic experience: I was literally at my wits end! I didn’t understand and was so confused on why my child was acting the way he was. My story began when my 5 year old was struggling at school. I was getting calls daily from his school and ready to quit my job and homeschool him. Then my mom said check out Functional Kids as her coworker raved about her experience and how her child was similar to my little one. So I said I am willing to try anything! I have to say it was like an answer from God! I walked in and by the end of the first session I left feeling normal again and like nothing was wrong with my child. He was ok. Maria helped me to understand what is going on and talked about how she and the other therapists can help. Let me tell you 6 months later I have seen nothing but a gift from God on how amazing these ladies are. Maria and Jen have transformed my impulsive, aggressive, unpleasant child into an amazing little boy filled with joy and happiness. He loves these ladies and asks to go everyday. I have even gained so much understanding and how to help him in certain situations. I can’t thank them enough. You are amazing!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: My daughter has seen Ms. Maria since around two years old. She has been such a blessing to my daughter, and family. She supports the parents, making you feel not so alone when your are struggling with your child. She has helped my daughter with her sensory issues, feeding aversions and many other things as well. Fantastic experience: Functional Kids Therapy has been great for my son. They are a big part of the reason is has come so far with his issues. Both speech and occupational therapy mhas given him tools and techniques to succeed with his issues. Functional Kids Therapy has been one of the best support systems in my son's therapy plan. Not only do they work wonderfully with my son but they are empathetic and very understanding. They do what they can to make sure your child gets the care they need. They are a place that puts their clients first. They are absolutely wonderful and I would recommend to anyone and everyone!

My son was completely non verbal a year ago and with the help Maria and Greta have given myself my wife and son he can know talk and has sign language to also talk with. Fantastic experience: We absolutely love Functional kids therapy! I have a daughter with scoliosis who has seen a huge reduction in pain since we started seeing Maria. My other daughter has had less joint pain and we have seen an overall decrease in GI issues. The staff is attentive and extremely helpful. They were fantastic and I’m working with our insurance as well! We can’t say enough good things about this place!

Fantastic experience: The knowledge and care of the staff and Miss Maria at FKT is beyond any other facility that you will find anywhere locally. My son made amazing advances quickly, loved attending therapy, and I was able to take the education that I was being taught home with me to extend the therapy further. So very pleased that even now a couple of years later my son still remembers what he learned with Miss Maria and I can still email to ask questions. No better place to go! My son has also worked with Miss Jen & she is just as amazing as Maria!! My son has also worked with the PT department as well. Gail & Jessie work wonders with my little guy. Everyone on her staff treats us like family & truely cares how all of us are doing. They all work towards solutions & are willing to think outside the box in order to find whatever works for my son & our family. When you walk in you immediately feel like you're at home & part of the family. I just love all of the staff from the receptionist all the way thru everyone we've encountered. Fantastic experience: I love Functional Kids Therapy. I have taken one of my children to Bronson OT, in the past. When the doctor suggested OT for my youngest daughter, I asked to be sent somewhere else other than Bronson. My daughter was sent to Functional kids! It has been an amazing positive adventure for my daughter, Elisha. She has sensory processing and has grown so much since she started therapy with Maria! I love Maria! There isn't any other place I would recommend! The staff is loving and caring! The best place to bring children to in need of therapy! Your children will definitely grow in development in all areas of their needs, and have fun doing it! Functional Kids is no comparison to the other therapy centers out there for children!
