Fantastic experience: Shannon helped me at the peak of my fear. I was having trouble walking and was dealing with very scary symptoms. Shannon worked right away on me and gave me answers. She is so dedicated and kind. I was able to move through my treatment. Spark definitely caught me when I was falling.

Fantastic experience: Shannon is absolutely amazing! She did a thorough evaluation with me, communicates clearly at every visit and always works hard to make sure she's meeting me wherever I'm at in physical ability. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: 21/2 years ago I suffered a life changing brain hemorrhage which resulted in a massive stroke that caused paralysis to my left side. Spark rehab has been a wonderful environment for me to be able to try and get better. All of therapists at Spark are very experienced in working with patients who have neurological issues. They really understand the challenges patients like me are facing They guide me into the exercises I need to do to improve my over all condition. Their studio has excellent equipment to help me regain my confidence and the chance to emerge from this terrible injury. Everyone at Spark works hard to cheer me on to improve. The studio at Spark is always very clean and organized and there is always a big emphasis on safety throughout the different therapy sessions.

Fantastic experience: The therapists here are the very best I've had in my over seven year journey of stroke recovery. Since I've been with them I''ve had a remarkable recovery. That includes not using a cane anymore and being able to run; which I thought I'd never be able to do again. I like them so much that my grandson goes to them now as well.

Fantastic experience: I came to David in a wheelchair about two years ago after what my neurologist described as one of the most severe cases of CIDP he had ever seen. He immediately gained my confidence by demonstrating a genuine interest in my recovery, combined with a thoughtful therapy plan and clear expertise on how to work with neuro patients. We started with aquatic therapy and worked toward land-based activities with a walker and canes. We also worked on balance and basic strength activities that I found to be both challenging and rewarding. I never felt unsafe with David. He always made a specific effort to ask for my input on what we were going to do in our sessions. He never forced me to do anything I didn’t feel I was ready to try. Today, I’m able to walk and do the things I want to do in my life, including hiking, kayaking, yardwork, and going to football games. I simply would not be where I am today without David. I highly recommend David to anyone with a neurological diagnosis.

Fantastic experience: Shannon Compton, DPT, is exceptionally knowledgeable and attentive to my issues. Pairing that with a personality and interpersonal skills that are extraordinary, I can't think of another physical therapist that I would consider, no offense to all of them. I specifically asked for Shannon again when I was recently prescribed post-operative PT. She's truly phenomenal.

Fantastic experience: AMAZING Why? First, state of the art equipment and ingenious use of everyday items you can adapt into therapy tools (a towel) to use at home. But what’s so great about state of the art if the people inside don’t know how to use them? Don’t you worry! David and Shannon absolutely know their stuff!! There is a difference between an GP and a specialist. That’s the entire Spark Rehab team. Yes they are first “general” therapists but then they specialize…and they are constantly searching for new things/ideas/equipment to make themselves even better. Example: Both David and Shannon are certified in neurological therapy. As a stroke survivor and warrior, not only does David work on the mechanics of quality leg and arm movements/strength, but he throws in cognitive things too. This clinic of therapists teach you how to change your pain into purpose. How to work hard to become your absolute best, and how to laugh at yourself when you are being too intense. Absolutely they celebrate with you over a new accomplishment. I’m just shy of four years post stroke. Two days ago, I JUMPED! Yes, it was in the water tank, but I did it and my feet came up several inches off the floor! The power of excellent therapy and therapists!

Fantastic experience: I have had PT for various things over the past 30 years and Shannon is the best - hands on, knowledgeable and really cares. I have multiple autoimmune diseases and she has been a tremondous help getting me better! Would totally recommend her!

Fantastic experience: The only physical therapists in town who outright said they are not afraid of my complex medical diagnosis but actually specialize in it. As someone who gets turned away frequently for being too high risk, the weight of those words is matched only by the profound expertise, validation and kindness I have encountered at every visit.

Fantastic experience: David Seck has been my physical therapist for 3 years in Salem. He’s a certified therapist for a number of medical conditions and his knowledge of what works is really enlightening! He’s open to looking at information I give him, and always willing to personalize the sessions for me. And he’s just so nice! I have multiple sclerosis. In 2019 I had a flare which, even after a month in the hospital, left me paralyzed in my right leg, with extreme muscle tension in the right leg and torso, and unbalanced. I lost grip strength in my right hand. Using a mixture of land-based exercises, with and without equipment, I can now walk short distances unassisted! Many of the stretching, balance and strength exercises I’ve been able to adapt to do at home. In the therapy pool, on the underwater treadmill, I build on my stamina using running and strength exercises, and correct my balance. Today I ran 3k (1.8 miles) in 30 minutes (3.7 setting on the treadmill)! From not being able to sit-stand, walk unassisted, use the water treadmill without the handrails, or even lift my right leg… I ran a 3k today! Without David, I wouldn’t be where I am today. (Did I mention I ran 3k today .)Thank you so very, very much, David.
