Kayla was born and raised in Mandan, ND. She graduated from Mandan High School in 2007 where she played soccer and participated in diving. She then continued her education at the University of Mary where she was part of the women’s soccer team, and where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 2011. Kayla went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2016 from the University of Mary.

Kayla then had her first clinic rotation experience with RehabAuthority in Boise, Idaho where she immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. During her rotations, she fell in love with the patient-centered therapy, McKenzie method of treatment, and overall fun atmosphere that RehabAuthority is known for.

Kayla is very passionate about helping people return to their favorite activities; and she herself enjoys spending time with family & friends, as well as outdoor activities of a wide variety. In her spare time, she enjoys coaching soccer and CrossFit, and continues to stay active.

Ryan Buchholz is a full-time physical therapist who started at RehabAuthority in June of 2018. He decided to pursue PT when he was injured during his senior year of track and was brought through rehabilitation by his soccer coach. He is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and received his degree from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND in April of 2016. Ryan offers dry needling as one of his services and is a certified practitioner of the Mckenzie Method ® of MDT.

Ryan enjoys the interpersonal aspect of therapy and shows genuine compassion for those he is treating. His faith is the driving force behind everything he does. When Ryan is not at the clinic he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog. He is passionate about all sports and outdoor activities from hunting and snowboarding to a weekend at the lake. He is excited to be back in his hometown and give back to the community he cares so passionately about!

Skye was born and grew up in eastern Iowa, and then graduated in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After high school, she located back home to Iowa where she started her journey with medical reception in a chiropractic office. She fell in love with watching patients learn about their bodies, and obtain a sense of agency back when they didn't need to rely on pain medication anymore. She also used her natural abilities for organization, delegation, and empathy in an office setting for a busy clinic. She then located to Denver, Colorado for two years where she managed another Chiropractic office in uptown Denver, and fell in love with the outdoors, and learned even more in-depth about patient care, the healing capabilities of the human body, insurance, medical billing, and so forth. After Denver, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and worked for an ophthalmology clinic in a hospital setting where she aided in helping with inpatient and outpatient care as the lead office manager.

After Cleveland, she relocated to Bismarck in spring of 2019 and started working right away at Sanford Health in their Central Distribution Center of the hospital. There, she did not have direct patient care but learned an abundance of medical terminology, about hundreds of medical instruments, aided in stocking all the nursing floors, coming up with organizational planning for new areas of the hospital, restocking emergent medical carts, bins, bags, and aiding in surgical supply prep. She was at Sanford for two and a half years before taking some time off to switch gears out of the fast-paced medical field in a hospital setting to focus more on her home and family life, as well as her creative passions.

Ashley was born and raised in the Bismarck area. She graduated from Century High School and went through 4 years of college on her way to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to provide counseling therapy and other therapeutic interventions for an overall better quality of life to patients of all backgrounds. Though she completed much of the schooling for social work, she decided that there are many other great ways to help people enhance their quality of life. Before moving to more of a management role helping with some family businesses after the completion of those college years, she was a CNA working primarily with people with disabilities in their homes, schools, and places of work. Through these experiences in the workforce, she was able to help and learn about people from all demographics and backgrounds which she found she really enjoys. That’s part of what she loves about working with InReach Physical Therapy: working with people to aide in them feeling better and gaining an elevated quality of life. At the InReach clinics, we all have the same goal---providing the best care to patients to help them feel their best. The teammate mentality that our clinic shares, and the fun atmosphere that is created through that, make her position as a Patient Service Representative fulfilling and fun, while maintaining her passion for helping people! Outside of the clinic, Ashley loves spending time with her human family (and fur family), going to the lake, learning new skills, and overall staying active.

McKenzie grew up in New Salem, ND and graduated from high school in 2016. McKenzie decided to further her education at the University of Mary where she pursued a degree in Athletic Training in 2019. McKenzie went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2022 from the University of Mary.

McKenzie loves working with people of all ages to help them get back to their everyday activities without limitations! McKenzie strives to provide a holistic approach to patient care to produce the best patient outcomes. In her free time, McKenzie enjoys spending time with her family and friends!

Douglas Winzenburg was born and raised in smalltown Bowbells, ND. He participated in baseball, basketball, and football. He graduated from Bowbells Highschool in 2014. He attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training in 2018. Douglas worked with multiple collegiate sports teams as well as surrounding high schools. He went on to further his education at the University of Mary where he completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2021. Douglas enjoys treating a wide variety of patients of all ages to help them return to their normal daily function as well as improving on their skills. His favorite part of physical therapy is getting to know his patients to help them in multiple areas and making their sessions geared toward them as well as enjoyable. Douglas continues to enjoy playing sports as he plays softball and basketball in his free time as well as watching sports.

Kelsey grew up in smalltown, Killdeer, North Dakota. Through high school, she played a variety of sports which helped cultivate her passion for athletics. She attended the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2018, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2021.

Kelsey enjoys working with athletes and has experience treating and managing a wide variety of athletic injuries. She also worked as an athletic trainer for the University of North Dakota during graduate school. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching Netflix, and being active outdoors!

Dr. Madison Westby, PT, DPT, was raised in Mandan, ND, and is a graduate of the University of Mary's Doctoral Physical Therapy program. During her education, she found her passion for pelvic health, which flourished during her early profession in Arizona. Her expertise is in the vast conditions of pelvic floor dysfunction, prenatal and postpartum care. She utilizes dry needling, myofascial release, manual therapy and exercise to treat individuals best. Madison focuses on empowering patients to achieve their goals and allowing them to enjoy the things they love. Madison enjoys time with her husband, dogs, family, and friends. In particular, she loves to spend time on the water to fish, wakeboard, boat and enjoy all the sunshine she can get. Madison will be located primarily at our Bismarck South Clinic at 600 S. 2nd St., Ste. 100, in Bismarck.

I am currently in therapy at REHAB Authority and as everyone says, the therapists are ALL fantastic. The atmosphere is nothing but positive and the communication is to die for. But have you met the receptionist??? Kayla is so amazing and compassionate PT. She helped me trough my ups and downs shows empathy. I use telahealth. I am very pleased when. A year ago I was shopping for a wheelchair now I am able to move on my own. Only reason for 4 stars is u wish she was in Williston.

Thanks to direct access, we can see any patient without a referral from a doctor for an initial evaluation. If our therapists believe that physical therapy is a good option for your needs, we can work with you and your physician to obtain a prescription for continued care. If your diagnosis requires additional expertise, we can also refer you to a specialist to handle your care.

Please wear or bring comfortable athletic/workout clothing to change into. This includes shorts or sweatpants, a t-shirt and sneakers. Your attire should also allow easy access to your injured area for treatment by your physical therapist.

The frequency of your treatment will depend on your physician’s prescription and the plan of care developed by your physical therapist. Most patients require treatment two to three times per week. The duration of treatment will depend on your injury and personal progress. Your physical therapist will discuss this with you following your initial exam and subsequently as you progress.

If you are unable to attend an appointment, we require at least 24 hours' notice. However, we do understand than an occasional emergency or illness may arise, in which case you may have to cancel your appointment closer to your scheduled time.

We accept most major insurances including Medicare, Tricare and workers’ compensation plans. Before your initial visit, we will verify in and out of network benefits with your insurance company. The cost of therapy is determined by the benefits of your insurance plan, including the deductible and co-pay, or patient percentage. We are happy to check with your insurance company to determine the terms of your coverage. Payment for patient responsibility is due at the time of service.
