Fantastic experience: The caring staff at Larkin Chase have taken good care of my mom. They also supported me when I had difficult decisions to make.

Positive experience: My loved one just arrived to this facility, so I don't have much to say about it at this time. I will say... the Admission lady.. Natalie.. very rude, and no capability of customer service... Im hoping i can come back one day and give a better review. My grandmother has been here for a couple of months... and even though I had a bad experience with Genesis of Waldorf, Larkin Chase has won my respect. Thank you to the nurses for the calls, updates and putting up with my loved one...

Positive experience: My family member has been at Larkin Chase since 2017, after leaving another facility. Our experience is considerably positive because we are very involved with her care. My family member was also very active in activities and communicating with other residents and staff, Pre Covid -19. She communicates well and can explain her issues to staff. This is a big difference in how we communicate, and can understand the facility and what’s going on at the time. However, there are so many staff changes, it can be confusing and emotional as well. During the last 6 months, I believe staff has done a great job while putting theirselves at risk as well and caring for our loved ones. We must stay involved and work together to ensure that our loved ones are treated with the utmost respect and care. I had my first visit to my granddaughter on Nov 5th. The process was well structured and closely monitored. We met in the courtyard with plexiglass between us. We had our masks on and we were in compliance with the rules. It was a beautiful fall day and a blessing to see my granddaughter in person. We appreciated the opportunity to visit after so many months. Post for June 6th SInce my family member is still a resident at Larkin Chase during a most difficult time for nursing facilities, we have been treated with respect and my family member is well liked at the facility. When she can, she conttributes her time and energy to help others as well. Many staff amd residents have moved on due to individual circumstances. But we still have a constant communication and update on the status of the facility and my family member's care. We have had some trials but fortunately they are worked out. The key is conmunication and I feel that Larkin Chase has provided that to our family..

Fantastic experience: The care that Beth has been given has been wonderful. As her husband, they have kept me fully informed about what is going on. Natalie worked with me on a schedule to visit Beth while, at the same time, finding time for myself. The nurses are a joy to deal with. Whatever I ask of them, they always tell me that it is no problem. The techs are also a joy to deal with. Whenever I need anything, they also tell me that it's no problem at all. One thing that I have noticed is that Beth is much more relaxed here than she was in the hospital. She lays on her back versus her side. I have always seen my role to be supportive and to encourage Beth is any way that I can. As I talk with the nurses and the techs, they are the same way. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Larkin Chase as they were the only rehab center that would take a chance on Beth as she rehabs from her illness when no one else would.

Fantastic experience: Our mom is there at Larkin Chase now for a few years and we are very pleased with the facility and care that she is getting. The facility is well kept and residents seem happy. The staff is very knowledgeable and caring. Making the decision of a nursing/rehabilitation center was not a easy one for us. This team has not only put our minds at ease but my mom seems happy and that really makes us happy. Thank you for all you do!

Fantastic experience: This place has its act together! It has a business office to handle payments as well as full Medicaid applications. They have a weekly Zoom with family members to make announcements and discuss any concerns. They offer satellite TV to all residents. They have a guest services office for individual-specific requests. Residents can get commonly needed services such as haircuts, finger and toenail clipping in their rooms. They have smoothly handled all the challenges of Covid. They quickly back-fill any staff that departs, and their staff appears to be happy. My family member has been a resident for more than a year now and is very satisfied.

Fantastic experience: The Larkin Chase Facility has been the Home of My Mother since 2015. That alone speaks volumes of the care she has gotten at this facility to have been there so long. We were referred by a caring soul at PG Hospital. We all have standards of how we would like our LOVE ONES CARED FOR! The journey is not paved in gold, but with GODS words, building bridges and navigating the TRIP, it will be a successful, loving, caring experience. GOD BLESS YOU

Fantastic experience: Larkin Chase is a wonderful Long Term Care & Rehabilitation facility. My Mother has been a resident for many years. The staff and nurses are caring and professional.. and feel like family. They have always addressed any questions and concerns, and have always kept me in the loop regarding my mothers care. Thank you for all you do! Your family is in good hands at Larkin Chase.

Fantastic experience: My mom has resided at Larkin Chase Center over a year. I have been well pleased with the entire staff -nursing, physical therapy, finance, maintenance etc. The attention to my mom's needs especially during this pandemic has given me ease and great appreciation of their genuine well being of the residents there.

Fantastic experience: Larkin Chase is a family driven Rehabilitation and Long Term Care facility. The staff genuinely cares for their patients and the access that family members have with them. During this current pandemic environment the facilities staff has been of upmost importance as they have been the bridge between family and their loved ones. Without their assistance, this horrible situation would not be possible to endure. I want to thank the staff for being responsive to our needs.

The facility is well kept and residents seem happy. To me I feel everyone is like family. The staff is very knowledgeable and caring. Making the decision of a nursing/rehabilitation center was not a easy one. When I stopped in for my tour I brought along a list of top 10 things to look for in a good facility and Larkin Chase Bowie had everything. This team has not only put my mind at ease but my loved one seems so vibrate now and that really makes me happy.

Positive experience: This is a great place to recover from a stroke. The therapists are outstanding, they got my husband walking after only 6 weeks, nursing staff is first class, administration was extremely helpful in helping me navigate through all the paperwork. Special thanks to Randy from OT and Surnita from Social Service. Really good food too, and a lovely garden for patients to get fresh air and host visitors. The place is immaculately clean. Also, the location is most convenient as it is in the Bowie Town Center where one can go shopping and choose from many restaurants.

Positive experience: My mother has been placed here twice. Like every facility it has its pros and cons. This place is in serious need of some cosmetic updating, especially the rooms. I recognize that this is a very old facility... however, they are very much in need of updating. The rooms are small, they don't have adequate storage for their inventory nor for their customers. The rooms are dark and depressing, a simple coat of paint would do this place some much needed justice. The staff (nurses and technicians) are generally timely and patient. She seemed very appreciative of the Occupational and Physical Therapist. The food as I understand it is hit or miss. She felt like their could have been more vegetables with her evening meals, as well as other morning options other than oatmeal almost every morning. But overall based on my observations and conversations with my mother, I would rate this facility down the middle with 2.5 stars.

Positive experience: The room furniture was rather cheap, old and beat up and probably needs updating. However, my husband and I found the staff to be responsive to his needs for the 12 days he was there for rehab. The staff was generally friendly and helpful. He was treated well and taken care of well including the supervisor bringing in a maintenance person on the weekend to fix the light in his room when it was found to be broken. We had no major complaints.

Fantastic experience: This facility and staff were Exceptional! The nurses, techs, Physical therapists and Occupational therapists were very Professional and caring. They responded in a timely manner if you pushed the call button. Out of 5 stars, I give them an 8!
