Fantastic experience: I met Dr. Audia after a knee injury. My knee was stuck in a bent position and I had allot of pain. He worked with me doing all kinds of fun and not very grueling exercises and therapies that really worked! I am no longer hobbling but actually walking and back to my full activities. Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Matt Audia a week ago for my balance and fall risk evaluations. I found Matt to be very professional attentive friendly and fun to work with. I was found to have significant balance deficits with weakness of my right lower extremity especially from ankle down. He spent lots of time educated me and hrlp me created plan to do balance exercises at home. I have been doing and it is helping a lot I eill see him again in 2 weeks for reevaluation I would recommend all the elderly like me tobe evaluated for fall risk that could safe your life from a fall Thank you so much Matt Dr Udom

Fantastic experience: There are not enough praises that I can think of for Matt Audia as a physical therapist. I have known Matt for years and have followed him on facebook, his videos always impressed me with how he approached physical therapy. As a 68 year old woman there is always some ache or pain I am interested in resolving and was hoping one day to reach out to enlist his help on my knee and back pain that are a result of my age and being sedentery too much of the time. 7 months ago I broke my femur cap, an accident that could have been life changing. I reached out to Matt once I was able to drive because I live in La Jolla and his office is in Carlsbad. Well the drive has been well worth it! Matt has helped me with my rehab and has also helped me identify other past ailments and provided solutions through his knowledge and experience. I recommend Matt Audia and Audia Physical Therapy to anyone looking for someone that is compassionate, patient, experienced and extremely well versed in evaluating physical problems and crafting appropriate solutions.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Matt enough! I’ve dealt with chronic pain for most of my life and have seen countless therapists, but Matt’s approach is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I have a cervical spine issue that has caused severe stenosis, shoulder weakness, and disc bulges. His unique myofascial release technique produces immediate results—when I leave his office, I feel a noticeable improvement every single time. What really sets him apart is that his exercises are simple, effective, and never feel overwhelming or cumbersome. They actually work, which has been life-changing for me. Beyond his skill, Matt genuinely cares about his patients. His bedside manner is warm, professional, and supportive, making every visit a positive experience. Fantastic experience: Stoke, seizure, 4 spinal-cord surgeries, acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy, massage therapy and finally met Dr.Audia. It has been 3 months and I have made great progress. He understand the trauma that my body has gone through and has uniquely strengthen my spine and muscles that are not literally bolted down. He has helped my upper body, my walking and my appearance while avoiding creating pain and this 78 year old man is very appreciative. I look better, I feel better and I am better.

Fantastic experience: Matt uses a whiteboard to illustrate the numerous concepts from multiple disciplines that he draws on for my therapy so I can easily understand them, as he’s constantly trying out different methods to help me (ex: he incorporated breath work in my therapy which I heard from my dad is used in martial arts and he was the first one to tell me about the benefits of meditating so recently we’ve begun meditating for a little bit before starting each session now which helps my focus), and tracks the goals I’ve met, keeping my spirits high. He not only stays up to date on the latest medical research but also shares stories and jokes around making his sessions fun. Oh when I first started and was still going somewhere else he made himself available later in the day so I could still schedule sessions with him! Snatching up whenever he has any openings which is a bit difficult as he’s rightfully very much in demand!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working in the brew industry after the toll it took on my back, Matt helped find the right techniques to become healthier and I haven’t had a problem since. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Stroke can be devastating; it was for my wife, and me as her caregiver and husband. Until I met Dr. Matt, I often felt hopeless. He changed all that. My wife started making real progress. She tolerated sessions with other PT's, but she actually looks forward to her time with Dr. Matt. He brings a unique combination of knowledge, humor, creativity and compassion into each exercise. Stroke can leave muscles and tendons shortened and painful. Dr. Matt spends the time necessary to get them ready to produce the best results, meaning the patient makes more progress. He has trained our caregivers as well, so that they can continue his work at home. My wife would be in far, far worse shape without Dr. Matt. And so would I.

Fantastic experience: I am forever indebted to Audia PT! Out of nowhere, I developed severe foot pain and couldn’t put any pressure on the ball of my left foot. It was a stressful time as I had a family wedding coming up, and my internet search for solutions was getting me nowhere—neither did the ice, rest, or ibuprofen. Finally, I had a consultation with Matt. He immediately identified the issue and provided me with some simple yet specific stretches and exercises to do at home with a golf ball. Within just an hour, I was already 90% better and able to apply pressure to walk around my home. The next day, I continued the exercises and stretches, and by Saturday, I was in heels and danced the entire night without any pain! I was so impressed. Truly—he’s amazing! Professional, kind, and full of knowledge!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Matt Audia is best I’ve ever experienced! After numerous unsuccessful visits to other doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapists, my chronic pain continued, as my frustration grew. From the start with my inaugural visit with Dr. Audia, his ability to diagnose and treat my personal discomforts was beyond impressive. For the first time in years, he had brought light to my tunnel. With persistence and the ease of carrying out all of his simple instructions, I soon rehabilitated back into the mobile, flexible, bright character I longed to be. Fantastic experience: My daughter's car was hit by a truck in Oct '23 and she now has severe TBI along with current paralysis, inability to control her emotions, and a host of complications. She lives in another country where the primary language is not English and it is an exasperating challenge to know and understand what is going on with her coupled with what seems to be a pretty bleak prognosis. Fantastic experience: It was truly a blessing to find someone as specialized and compassionate as Matt for complex cases. He treated our mother for over two years following her stroke. Not only does Dr. Audia have the most specialized equipment that I have ever seen (and I've been to a few PT's), but he is an expert at custom tailoring the treatment to the patient. Equally important, in addition to his education and expertise, is that Matt is very positive and motivating to the patient and their families. He also allows the family to watch and help encourage the patient whereas other PT's would make you wait outside. He encouraged our mother constantly, challenged her and praised her. He gave us hope, and for that, we will be forever grateful.

Fantastic experience: I have been treated by Matt Audia for roughly 10 years. I have old injuries and Arthritis in both shoulders from my time in the Army, as well as knee and hip injuries. His knowledge, time, and attention has been a boon to my pain relief. He has given me effective exercise and stretching routines, which I apply daily, and they have kept my pain at bay or at managable levels. Fantastic experience: I am thankful that I found Dr. Matt Audia. He is a miracle worker. After my stroke, I had painful spasticity in both shoulders, limited mobility, and my hands were clenched. Before going to Matt, my old therapists gave me heat wraps for 10-15 minutes and had me do mundane exercises like rowing a bike and picking up blocks and pegs for 1 hour. The therapists did not address my pain. I realized that the therapy wasn't helping and found Matt after my acupuncturist told me to go to a neurological therapist and introduced me to Jon Kern. Jon Kern gave me a free consultation. Wow, that session helped with my pain! He used myofascial release, and I felt like I had gone to a top-notch massage therapist. Unfortunately, Jon didn't have any openings, but he referred me to Matt. Matt also gave me a free consultation. Double wow! Matt also used myofascial release, and I felt like I had gotten another top-notch massage. I wanted more of it! Matt has magic hands and knows how to use them. He is very skilled, positive, and easy to work with, yet very professional. Our sessions are conducted with laughter and fun. Whenever I can't do an exercise, he is encouraging and, instead of pushing me, he shares photos of his little girls, tells dad jokes, or whatever to give me a mental break. I have 2-hour sessions, but time flies by fast. He educates me and explains what he is doing. The exercises are interesting and not boring. He has lots of toys to play with, and they are all helpful to my situation. I love to play card games, and Matt uses cards in our therapy sessions. He also uses tools that he created, so it is fun. After seeing Matt, I no longer need hand and leg braces. I can see a drastic improvement in my mobility. I have no pain in my shoulders, and my hands are moving. Dr. Matt Audia is truly a miracle worker.

Fantastic experience: I wasn’t able to go to PT with Matt very long because of my financial situation. I did improve (lower back) while i was there. Matt was so easy to work with. He carefully explained everything and never seemed in a hurry. He observed every movement and corrected me quickly if i did not perform the exercise correctly. Fantastic experience: I injured my back playing volleyball. It locked up on me after a jump. Could barely move afterwards and went to the urgent care looking for treatment. They gave me medication that did nothing. Called up Dr. Audia and he saw me asap. Could barely get out of my car when I walked in. He worked on me for 45 minutes and my back was 90% better. Could walk without pain and sit and bend as well. It was amazing. Did two more sessions and he had me back on the beach playing. Dr Audia is the best for all your PT needs whether big or small. Fantastic experience: I’m so glad to have found a physical therapist that truly worked and helped me get back to my normal self. I suffered from a back injury involving disc that was bulged and could barely walk. Matt Audia has now gotten me back to 100% and back in the gym. Fantastic experience: I was in an accident in 2018 which left me in constant pain. I did the PT that was recommended by the doctors at the time. I was told that I had reached my max level of potential and there was nothing more they can do for me. There was never a day that I didn't have pain due to the severity of the injury suffered. Over the last 5 years I just adapted, managed, and accepted that this was my new normal. I began to attend PT sessions with Matt Audia and it has been a game changer. I'm able to do a lot more physically than what I was able to do before. Fantastic experience: Matt Audia has changed my life. I went to him after a year of therapy at the hospital for a stroke. The hospital was great, but just got to where I was functional again and sent me on my way. I could walk, but not very far and with a very noticeable limp, and I had learned to do things mostly with my good arm, assuming the affected arm would never be fully functional again. Matt has decades of experience in neurological and general physical therapy. He knows the right exercises to get you over the top and is very good at explaining and showing you how to do them. He explains everything clearly and uses examples and video appropriately. He has a great PT app and uploads videos of exercises for you shortly after each visit. Matt asks that you work hard, but he gets results. After a year and a half with him, I have returned to the activities I love. I am running, swimming, riding my dirt bike, fishing, golfing and doing just about anything I want. I thank God for giving Matt such an incredible gift of being able to help people like he does. I highly recommend Audia Physical Therapy. Matt will change your life too!
