Positive experience: They work hard to keep you as comfortable as possible. Most have a great attitude but are overworked and overwhelmed. I appreciate all of the hard work they put into keeping this place running. Be patient. They are a whole lot better than most!
Positive experience: Clean friendly caring. I'm editing my review. Severely understaffed. Male CNAs are preferable to female. Patients are lucky to get a shower once per week! If glasses or braces ECT. are needed it takes forever with much prompting from realatives. Reasonably clean. I feel very sorry for the patient who has no realatives or friends. No medical transpo for the indigent but for dial a ride and if they have Dementia it's too hard for them without assistance. Re: outside medical appointment or any other appointments. Hair cutting and styling are available at exorbitant price , poor quality. It's a understaffed Nursing Rehab facility. Medical Medicare accepted. It's really opened my eyes to what Im looking forward to. Without family support it's a scary thought. Probably other Medical Medicare facility's are similar but I've never heard of any with this showering schedule.
Fantastic experience: Our family just had a really positive experience with Camarillo Healthcare last week. Our Mom was hospitalized for a few days with a serious head injury, but once she was discharged to Rehab the team at CHC were incredibly helpful. The Intake process was thorough and compassionate, and the Therapy and Social Service teams genuinely listened to her. They created a care plan that we all have confidence in, and it has shown immediate progress. Everyone we met through the entire process was professional, and treated Mom with respect. She is in the right place for her right now, and we are grateful that CHC is there for our family.
Fantastic experience: About 7 months ago, I wrote a review regarding my uncle’s brief stay at Camarillo Healthcare before he passed away from cardiac arrest at the age of 93-1/2 years of age. I just wanted to add that my uncle was a WW II veteran who fought in the war overseas. He told me that the entire Camarillo Healthcare staff were always attentive. My uncle told me that he was always treated with respect and noticed all other patients were treated respectfully by the staff. So, I want to say thank you to everyone for taking good care of my uncle, treating him and others with respect, and sending me an unexpected and nice reply to my first review. . Below is my original posted review. My uncle was a resident of Camarillo Healthcare Center nursing facility from November, 2016, until his death from a heart attack in May, 2017. During my visits to see him along with my Certified Therapy Dog, Bailey, I found the facility to be very clean. Based on my observations, the entire staff from Admissions to Nursing to the Front Desk were always very courteous, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and professional. By the time my uncle became a resident, he was frustrated that he was unable to walk and was confined to move about in a wheelchair. Other than that, he told me he liked the place, the food, and the attentive, concerned nursing staff. On May 3, 2017, the nursing staff phoned me at 1:30am to notify me my uncle was in cardiac arrest, and they were attempting to revive him while they waited for the Medical Response Team to arrive. A nurse remained on the phone with me and said the EMT had taken over resuscitation procedures. Although my uncle was briefly resuscitated, he could not hang on; and medics eventually had to stop and call it. I was very grateful by the efficiency of the nursing staff who followed my written instructions to contact me at any time in case of emergency and other contacts that immediately handled arrangements upon his death. I would like to reiterate that I found the facility to be very clean inside as well as outside, and the entire staff was friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. The only drawback is that the facility parking spaces were minimal, and I always had to find street parking.
