Select Physical Therapy - Durham

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were both recently discharged from treatment and Taryn and Vanessa were just amazing. I didn’t fully understand what was wrong with me when I came to them, but I knew I couldn’t go on the way I had with my neck and jaw issues. I had seen several doctors with little to no answers as to why I was having so much trouble, but Taryn worked with my head and neck one time and was able to tell and show me where the problem was. Both Taryn and Vanessa have an amazing knowledge of the nerve and muscular systems and didn’t hesitate to share that knowledge with me to help me understand the origin of my pains and how to address them. I’m not being dramatic when I say that this has made my regular lifestyle possible again after half a year of discomfort. My husband likewise has been able to go back to playing sports after over a year off due to debilitating ulnar tunnel pain, which Vanessa and Taryn were also able to diagnose as a trapped nerve and help him rehabilitate. We were also able to schedule our appointments together most of the time due to their amazing front desk. We’re very grateful to all of them.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended Select Physical Therapy through my insurance after a work-related knee injury. At the time I started seeing them (I was there for over a year) I was placed with Taryn. The doctor was not sure what it was but found over time that it was a torn meniscus and torn ACL. They did everything they could to get my knee to full extension, but no one knew that that the torn meniscus was sitting in between my bones, preventing that. After my reconstruction surgery (quad graft), I was really thankful to have a familiar face to tell me that I will recover and be honest with me when I was taking shortcuts in my recovery. They were just as happy as I was when I hit big strides. I also worked closely with Vanessa during that time, before she eventually became my main therapist. I was discharged (very sadly might I add) and found out I needed another surgery and would have to return to PT (very happily). They were very welcoming. They were not afraid to tell me I was leaning and I had their voice in my head while practicing at home. I may have been one of few 20 year olds in the place, but I still loved coming each time and chatting with the therapists about our life updates. I wish I could go to the place for fun! I miss all the staff dearly.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for about 2 months. Vanessa Itri has been helping me and has made such a great improvement in my life. When I started going I had a difficult time walking and now I can keep up with anyone else that I am walking with. She has gone out of her way to make therapy fun and productive. I really couldn't ask for a better fit as far as a therapist goes. She is fantastic! Everyone else there has been really easy to talk with, friendly, and just generally really great to deal with. I've never been to therapy before but this has been such a rewarding and productive experience. I have learned a lot from Vanessa, and she has given me the tools (and a bunch of exercises) that will help me continue to get better after my therapy is over.
