Raleigh Orthopaedic Physical Therapy: West Cary

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to a number of Physical Therapists in the past, some were good and some really were not. Ruth Godwin Menechella at Raleigh Ortho is one of the best I’ve gone to. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and most important, she targeted the source of my pain and did a remarkable job relieving it. I’m very grateful to Ruth and highly recommend her. Btw - all the staff I dealt with at Raleigh Ortho in Holly Springs was friendly and professional.

Fantastic experience: My several months experience with Raleigh Ortho PT West Cary have been very positive. My therapist, Kathy McPherson, is very knowledgeable and her services are always specific to my needs. My current medical conditions and needed PT has spanned many months, so my association with this practice will continue until my therapist observes the desired improvement.

Fantastic experience: Kathy was absolutely excellent. She was extremely thorough & knowledgeable, at put me at ease immediately.

Negative experience: The PT took me 17 minutes late, no apology. Did not add 17 minutes to the visit. Seemed disinterested, although the other therapists were very involved with their patients. Bottom line, I left there much worse than I was when I came in and it took me 6 weeks to get back to where I was before the visit. Update on original review: The owner responded to this review asking me to contact him/her via email. I did, no response. This just confirmed my original impression.

Fantastic experience: ROPT is always fantastic. They are very attentive and offer solutions to help you get back to what you want to do.

Negative experience: My primary physical therapist was great. However I would never refer anyone to this practice. At check out at the end of each visit I was told "your insurance plan covered today totally and you have 30 free PT visits a year." Surprising to hear but I believed them. Originally my intention was only to go a few times to learn the exercises that would help me because I couldn't afford co-pays for expensive treatment. If the sessions were going to be free then I would go to more. It wasn't until I had been to $900 worth of appointments that I got a bill for the true cost of therapy. You can't trust them about the true cost of your therapy. This wasn't my insurance companies fault this was the fault of the employees of Raleigh Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. They cost me so much money I can not afford to be paying. I ran out of energy trying to fight them. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ARE RICH.

Fantastic experience: Cory is very knowledgeable and works to stretch your body very methodically. She gives tips to follow at home to accelerate the recovery process.

Fantastic experience: It feels good to see progress being made and having a competent, compassionate and empathetic therapist is ALWAYS a plus……..having NO use of shoulder (frozen) post rotator cuff repair and NOW able to see ROM increasing and independence at home growing has caused me to lift my head up again…………as a clinical APN I need my shoulder back to as close to 100%as possible………Thanks Kathy for all your support through this tough time.

Positive experience: Zach Bryant is a good PT . He explains clearly with patience about diff exercises .He is excellent in doing the stretching & manual therapy for the knees.

Fantastic experience: Just completed a 6 week round of PT at Raleigh Orthopaedic Physical Therapy: West Cary for a hip problem. I am so pleased with the results: in fact the whole experience. From start to finish I was impressed with the staff. They offered exercises and life adaptations tailored for me. I am now getting around so much better. Pain level is next to zero. A special thank you to Jen, who I saw the most during my appointments. She was spectacular. She has a magic touch and great way with patients. Fantastic experience: I started going to Raleigh Orthopaedic Physical Therapy in West Cary 3 days after my knee replacement. My regimen is one hour M-W-F. The care I receive/received I am certain has reduced one's normal recovery time by a week. While the treatments were both aggressive and exhausting I now have full use of my knee, ability to walk normally, and free of the high level of pain that comes post surgery. I feel I owe my successful recovery to my two PT experts, Zach Bryant and Jim Bould whose skills were directly responsible for my quick recovery.

Fantastic experience: Jim at west cary is one of the best Physical Therapist Ive ever had. I have worked with him 2 times, and he has done the very best to get me back out there again. All of his staff his very knowledgeable and work hard to get patient back to 100% I would recommend working with Jim if you want to get back to your life or however your injury is affecting your life.

Negative experience: After three sessions with Jim, my shoulder pain got worse than when I started. I was really hoping to get better, but after this setback, I’m taking a break from PT.

Fantastic experience: Great team, clean facility and upbeat atmosphere. Unlike other clinics I've been to, they have direct access to my surgeon's portal (not my patient portal) and provided therapy based on my doctor's protocol. My surgeon read these progress notes and we discussed during my post-op follow ups. Special thanks to Jim, Zac, Mary and Erin. Every session has been productive regardless of who I saw. Additional thanks to the PT assistants and office admin for their professionalism and help. I never want to go through a rotator cuff repair again, but I am grateful for the care I've received. Thank you!

Negative experience: I tried to give this office a chance but each session has gone worse and worse. Today was the first time a physical therapist made me feel bad for having pain and that was a clear sign today needed to be my last appointment.

Fantastic experience: I’ve spent a lot of time in and out of different PT office's with multiple injuries. The surgeon of my last injury was very skeptical of me regaining full motion in my shoulder. After working with Jim he was able to get me moving again. I highly recommend going to see Jim, you won’t be disappointed!

Negative experience: Today, would have been my 4th PT visit, but I left after being barked at by Jim. I realize Jim does not have an outgoing personality like Mohammad ( who was super fantastic!), but, when I arrived today for my 9:30 appointment and after a few minutes after that time waiting in the waiting area, I got up and looked for Jim, and when I saw him, I said good morning, and his response was "take a seat, I'll be with you in a minute"! I'm sorry, I get to all of my appointments on time and I realize at times people may be running late, but, I will not accept being barked at! I cancelled my appointment today and for the rest of the month with Jim. I will find a PT clinic that cares about it's patients and treats the with respect!

Fantastic experience: Jim is one of our favorite therapists as we are frequent flyers to Raleigh ortho. He is very knowledgeable and was instrumental in helping find a diagnosis for my daughters hip issues. He is very patient with my 11 year old who likes to talk his ear off! If you get a chance, go see Jim!

Fantastic experience: After moving back to NC (from FL) I had to find all new doctors and physical therapists as the older I've gotten, the more prone to injury I become, and since I can't seem to act my age, I get injured rather often. Jim Bould has been my first and only physical therapist since moving back to NC and I follow him everywhere. He's been in 2 locations since I've been working with him and I'd follow him to a third. Jim is responsible for getting me back active after my second rotator cuff injury, and kept me ahead of schedule on all my milestones. He's not only very knowledgeable, but he utilized and made me aware of other practices and solutions that could supplement my recovery. Thanks for all you do Jim!

Fantastic experience: Had my appointment with Jim Bould today. He was AMAZING. He was very personable and knowledgeable and treated me with respect the entire time. I felt like it was doing PT with a friend and someone who knew exactly what I needed to do to get back to my previous me. I was nervous about getting back to the old me and Jim made me feel comfortable and like we would get me back to where I was. He was very encouraging and friendly.

Positive experience: Kathy seems knowledgeable but overworked. Very good at trigger point release. Concern- patient not working directly with therapist on most visits but handed off to assistants who may not always focus on proper form/technique for exercises.

Fantastic experience: Just started at this location a few weeks ago and it has been a great experience. Jim is awesome, he is very attentive and know how to get the most out of the visit. The rest of the staff have also done an excellent job of assisting me with anything else I need. I will definitely recommend this location to anyone in need.

Ruptured my Achilles tendon in mid October of 2022, and the team had me back to doing all of the things I enjoyed prior to my injury by April of 2023. Kathy McPherson, Stephanie Preve, and Kayla Bollenbecker are consummate professionals and made all of my PT visits very enjoyable. These folks know what they are doing and take pride in their work. 15/10 - highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Jennifer was lovely, she explained to me the ways I could re-position my knee to relieve pain I’ve had for weeks. She also was quick to create a personalized treatment plan to get me back on track.

I instantly started seeing the results in first 2 weeks with my knee pain for meniscus tear and now after 3 months, almost getting back to normalcy. I think everyone's situation is different depending on their injury, age etc. so the rehab time differ, but everyone here is so cooperative, professional and understand how to treat. They know what they are doing. Would surely recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Cynthia has been of the best physical Therapist I have had the pleasure of working with. I had an isolated LCL reconstruction surgery which is very rare so I was feeling skeptical on the treatment I was receiving. My first session with Cynthia has really assured me of the benefits of physical therapy and provided me simple but very effective movements to continue at home. I can tell that she has a wealth of experience and I am happy to be in her care.

Fantastic experience: I've had 2 sessions with the physical therapist and have been very pleased with the treatment so far. It's been highly customized for my specific injury with a pace that's efficient but non-stressful. When the therapist sometimes attends to another patient, it's while I'm occupied with productive exercise so there's very little down time. He clearly explains the anatomical issues, dynamics, and rationale for each exercise.
