Russell Biggers, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist and a certified ergonomics assessment specialist. He specializes in evaluation, management, and treatment of spine and orthopedic disorders. He emphasizes body mechanics, and posture training utilizing manual treatment techniques with multiple modalities.

Technical skills have been added to his knowledge base through studying and being trained in advanced mobilization techniques level 3 by The Spinal Manipulation Institute, American Academy of Manipulative Therapy.  Dr. Biggers joined the Spine & Orthopaedic Medical Center in 1999.

Dr. Biggers received a Magna Cum Laude Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Physical Therapy degree from California State University Fresno, California.

In addition to holding national certification with the American Physical Therapy Association as an orthopedic certified specialist (OCS), he has also received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the joint program with University of California, San Francisco, and California State University, Fresno.

Dr. Biggers has taught advanced orthopedics for over seven years at the Masters level at California State University, Fresno. He has also taught research methods in addition to case reports at the Doctorate level. Previous teaching experience includes instruction of Health Nutrition at University of Phoenix.

Dr. Biggers has conducted research and given presentations on “Role Specific Skills and Job Satisfaction in Common Physical Therapy Settings” at the 13th Annual Congress of World Confederation for Physical Therapy in Yokohama, Japan, and “Osteoporosis Testing in Orthopedic Practice” at the North American Spine Society in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
