Pediatric in home, in daycare and in clinic PT, OT, ST rehab practice serving Cabarrus County, NC
Therapy Talk is a comprehensive private practice that offers Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy to children of all ages in certain parts of Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Our highly trained therapists treat in our clinic, in the home for medically fragile children (dependent upon therapist availability) or in a daycare setting in Cabarrus County.
We treat a variety of disorders including, but not limited to: Developmental Delays, Down Syndrome, Autism/Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Processing Disorder, Feeding and Swallowing Disorders, Apraxia, Fine Motor Coordination/Strength Deficits, and Gross Motor/Coordination Deficits.
Each therapist uses a family-centered treatment approach. Therapy should be a fun experience for your child, and typically something he or she looks forward to. Parents are encouraged to participate in treatment, observe, ask questions, and utilize the home programs your therapist will design during a session.
Face to Face therapy in our clinic in downtown Concord or in certain Cabarrus County daycares. We are ONLY in homes for medically fragile children but that is dependent upon therapists availability.
Currently due to COVID restrictions, we are letting patients ONLY into our clinic. Therapists will meet their patients at their cars for pick up. After the session, patients will be walked back out to cars and parents will be given feedback and home programs to implement.
Speech Therapy sessions are usually 30 minutes while OT and PT are one hour sessions. While the vast majority of the session will be spent working with your child, we reserve approximately five to ten minutes to liaise with parents, answer questions, provide activities to work on independently, and complete all necessary documentation.
I hope this letter finds you healthy and well. In light of developments with the coronavirus, I felt it was necessary to communicate the policies Therapy Talk will be following for the foreseeable future.
If you or anyone in your household tests positive or has been exposed to Covid-19, we will follow one of the three strategies listed below before resuming services. These recommendations come directly from the CDC.
1. Symptom-based strategy: If you have tested positive and have Covid-19 symptoms, we will hold services for 3 days since recovery. Recovery is defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath) AND at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.
2. Time-based strategy: If you have tested positive but have no symptoms (asymptomatic), we will hold services for at least 10 days since the first positive Covid-19 test assuming you have not subsequently developed symptoms.
• Due to the nature of the virus, Therapy Talk and its staff can not completely control the spread of Covid-19 regardless of the safety measures we employ.
I am open to a conversation regarding your questions or concerns. Please do not hesitate to reach out directly to me- [email protected]. Stay healthy!
Therapy Talk: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Therapy Talk has seen all of my children at some point, from 2021-present. My first point of contact was Claudia (I think she is the owner). She was very through and offered great suggestions. She has always gotten back to me in a timely manner, anytime I had in depth questions. Additionally, Andrea (Speech), Rebecca (OT), & Rachel (OT) have all been fantastic with my kiddos. Each one of these ladies is very knowledgable and you can tell that this work is a passion for them. One of my kids was very much developmentally delayed in 2021 and has come such a long way since being under the care of these ladies! From our start with Therapy Talk, through now, anytime that I have had questions, they have been answered. These ladies have all also taken the time to listen to my concerns and we have worked together as a team to set goals for my child. I am so thankful that I stumbled upon Therapy Talk in 2021, through a Google search and Facebook mention.
Fantastic experience: Megan and Morgan are the best therapists my son has ever had! My son has progressed so much by receiving therapy here compared to his former therapists. They are so loving and kind to our whole family! 5 stars are not enough????
Fantastic experience: Therapy Talk helped my 2 oldest kiddos so much with their core strength and sensory eating issues! My kids absolutely adored “Miss Megan”! We absolutely fell in love with her and how kind and caring she was helping them to be and feel successful! By the time we graduated, Megan was a good friend! She went above and beyond to support my kids in the way that was best for them. I would highly recommend Therapy Talk to anyone with OT struggles. They made the entire process seamless with insurance as well!
Fantastic experience: We’ve had the pleasure of working with Therapy Talk over one year now and have had an amazing experience! Our two year old son was born with a developmental delay, and both Lily and Autumn have been huge blessings with his therapy. These Therapists are engaging, knowledgeable, and pay attention to detail. Our son has made terrific progress as a result ???????????? If you’re ever in need for therapy, please ask for Lily and Autumn. They’re the best in the business!
Fantastic experience: We have had a great experience with Therapy Talk! My daughter received speech therapy summer of 2018 and made great progress. We decided to discontinue since she was going to receive services at school during the school year. We picked back up with a different therapist, Autumn, for summer 2019. She has been so patient with my daughter and has used great techniques to help her be successful. In fact, they were doing so well together during the summer that we decided to continue during the 2019-20 school year, even with additional services provided by her school. Therapy Talk has been so helpful in quickly setting up our therapy sessions and finding spots in the schedule for home visits. I’m so glad that our pediatrician initially referred us to TT!
