Oregon Physical Therapy at Timberhill: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I went to OPT with two goals: 1) To get some relief for the pain all over my back. Neck pain had made me hold my body in a way that ended up making more “pinchy nervy “ pain spots all over my back! 2) Nearly as importantly my other goal was to learn some new machine exercises I could do to strengthen my neck, back and shoulders – in the hope of preventing future pain episodes. (I do better with machines vs. body movements like Pilates.) Even though Mike seemed to feel we should spend a bit longer on the massages to loosen up my back, he listened when I told him by the third visit that I really wanted to learn some machine exercises upstairs in the Timberhill club next door, to augment/improve the machine exercises I was already doing. He showed me several I had not been aware of before . I really like them and I think they will help.
Fantastic experience: I can't speak highly enough about Mayron. She is always able to figure out how to deal with my back, knee, and other structural issues. Just when I'm ready to give up because nothing I try works, with her common sense attitude she figures out a program of treatment that really works! I am amazed as her treatments have truly been miraculous for me. She's wonderful!
Fantastic experience: I injured my shoulder and after 6 months of no improvement, was evaluated and treated by Mayron. Doing the stretches and eventually strengthening exercises she prescribed resulted in my returning to preinjury functioning and no pain. Amazing!
Fantastic experience: I've now been here three times for various conditions, and each time was practically miraculous! Both Kathy and May Ron have helped me immensely, both guiding me through exercise routines and dealing with the exact condition for which the doctor prescribed help. The pool therapy was also very important, as it strengthened my back & other muscles. I went from practically catatonic to fine to work full-time again in several months! This place is great!
Fantastic experience: Mayron Yip-Ng, at Oregon Physical Therapy at Timberhill, is an excellent physical therapist. I highly recommend her. She doesn’t just treat symptoms; she determines and addresses the underlying cause of the problem in order to provide lasting, long-term results. I saw two other physical therapists before Mayron. Neither came close to providing the compassionate, extremely thorough, and effective care I received from Mayron. Mayron treated me three different times. The first was for a knee that would buckle unexpectedly. A previous physical therapist gave me a set of exercises that fixed the problem for a while. When it returned, I asked Mayron for help. By carefully watching me walk and examining my body, she determined one hip was slightly higher than the other. A slight elevation in one shoe, together with exercises to re-train my knee AND walking gait, solved the problem and it has not returned. My second and third set of treatments with Mayron dealt with a torn rotator cuff in my shoulder – before and after surgery. In both cases, Mayron didn’t just work on strengthening my shoulder muscles. Again, she carefully watched how I moved, and identified I wasn’t using the right muscles in the right sequence, resulting in neck strain, lack of full mobility, and added pain. She provided a progressive set of exercises that helped me re-train my shoulder to operate properly, allowing me to both re-gain full use of my shoulder and minimize the potential for future injury. Mayron has an in-depth knowledge of physical therapy and extensive experience. Just as importantly, she cares about her patients and her patient’s successful recovery.
