Full Circle Pelvic Health is a physical therapy clinic in Rhode Island that’s dedicated to helping people with pelvic floor issues feel better through focused rehabilitation and specialized care. Our primary therapist is skilled at the highest level of training in pelvic health with over 16 years of clinical experience in pelvic floor physical therapy and over 30 years in health & fitness. We incorporate orthopedics, pain science and mindfulness, exercise science, manual therapies, dry needling, athletic training, and yoga into therapy sessions in order to treat the whole person with a comprehensive approach.
At your first appointment, your therapist will obtain a thorough history with you to best understand your situation. Additionally, your assessment may include analysis of posture, body mechanics, the range of motion of specific joints (including the spine), strength, musculoskeletal and connective tissue and pelvic floor function. We also work with local physicians, chiropractors, doulas and mental health specialists and more to coordinate your treatment. For your benefit, we are accepting most insurances and we do offer affordable self-pay rates/payment plans if preferred. Call 401-320-7101 to find out more.
While there are common pelvic health problems for all genders, men have a few that women do not. Many of these men’s health concerns involve the male pelvic area and associated muscles. When the muscles in your pelvic floor aren’t cooperating like they should, you can have issues like groin pain, testicle/genital or abdominal pain, sexual function disorders, incontinence or constipation. You may even notice you experience an increase in symptoms with increase in stress. Physical therapy can help with all of that!
Women’s health requires special attention to the changes a woman’s body experiences throughout her/their lifetime. Our primary therapist is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health and Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner who will help you understand, manage and in most cases eliminate urinary or fecal incontinence, overactive bladder, prolapse, bladder or pelvic pain, back pain and other joint and muscular issues during menses, midlife, menopause, pregnancy, and post- partum. Our clinic has private treatment rooms and a healing environment.
Physical therapy has been successful in helping many types of sexual function concerns including vaginismus, dyspareunia (pain with intercourse), pelvic floor myalgia (muscle pain), vulvodynia (vulvar pain), and perineal or scar pain. Issues like constipation, straining and incomplete bowel emptying may indicate that your pelvic floor muscles are not cooperating as well as they should to maintain healthy bowel regularity. Pelvic floor therapy can help you to restore muscle coordination and function to improve bowel, bladder and sexual health for all these important activities of daily life. Questions? Full Circle Pelvic Health: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Melissa is dedicated to helping her patients on an individual basis. Her treatments and exercises are meant specifically for me and what I am experiencing and what goals I have. Melissa worked hard to fit me into her busy schedule during my second pregnancy and post partum. I feel that Melissa’s approach helped me achieve a success VBAC and now I am feeling great nearly 4 months post partum. I would recommend her to all the mamas to be out there - for pregnancy and post partum! As a mental health therapist, I loved Melissa’s calm and informative approach. She truly wants to understand you and wants you to understand your body. Side note: your progress isn’t solely based on these appts, you have to be dedicated to doing the exercises outside of appts too ;)
Positive experience: Decent PT, personable. But the reason they're a 3 is they never sent me a bill or contacted me in anyway (phone or email). Now I'm dealing with the fallout and really irritated. Great on the front end with scheduling and care, not so great on the back end with contacting about balances. Wouldn't return for that.
Fantastic experience: Such a great experience with Melissa. I had a lot of pain after a hysterectomy but with the exercises and time it improved greatly. As an OT I do have high expectations for therapy and she exceeded my expectations. highly recommended
Fantastic experience: Melissa is compassionate, incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.
Fantastic experience: Melissa was informative, helpful, and disarming in her approach to care. Thank you for everything!
