Cook Legacy Village is located on nearly five acres of land in west Davenport, just a mile from the Good Samaritan campus. Originally a mansion, the upper floors have been converted to apartments, leaving the lower floor largely intact with Victorian furnishings and charm.

Schuetzen Park Place is located in the middle of Schuetzen Park, a historic Davenport landmark with hiking trails, a shelter house, benches along the trails to stop and rest. Every apartment offers views of the beautiful, wooded area.

Live in a home as unique as you are. Cook Legacy Village was originally built as a Victorian mansion. In 2013, the second and third floors were remodeled into nine beautiful senior living apartments. The first floor has remained largely untouched and stays true to its era with stained glass, original woodwork and antique furniture.

Here, residents are like a close-knit family and stay active on campus and in the community. Every apartment is move-in ready with maintenance-free appliances, including a washer and dryer. Like all Good Samaritan Society communities, our Cook Legacy Village residents enjoy comfortable, smoke-free apartments and have access to a variety of amenities that enhance their lives. Residents are free to use the common areas on the first floor and each will have a space in the garage.

We want you to feel at home in your new apartment. It is yours to decorate any way you wish with the furnishings, decorations and mementos that are special to you.

If you’re looking for a senior living community that helps you live as independently as possible – with support available should you need it – look no further than Heritage Court. Our one- and two-bedroom apartments come with access to a variety of services and amenities. We want you to feel at home in your new apartment. It is yours to decorate any way you wish with the furnishings, decorations and mementos that are special to you.

Enjoy exercise activities on your own or with a group of friends. We have three libraries on our campus with an extensive collection of books, including large print books. Our location also has a pool table, large screen TVs and three patio areas that offer beautiful views of nearby woods and wildlife. Weekly light housekeeping and flat linen services are available. Laundry facilities are conveniently located on-site, and garage space is available for a fee.

Schuetzen Park Place offers unparalleled views and beauty. Our newly renovated senior apartment building is named for the scenic landmark park within its campus. Each one- or two-bedroom apartment was designed to offer optimal views.

All apartments have a modern feel with stainless steel appliances and updated furnishings. The building offers private off-street parking and a variety of indoor and outdoor common areas that are perfect for get-togethers with friends or family. Laundry is available on each floor.

Senior living should provide more than a place to live. It should offer a sense of comfort and safety. A sense of control. Most important, it should provide a true feeling of community. If you’re an avid bird-watcher, you may want a birdfeeder outside your window. Maybe you simply enjoy sitting and reading in your favorite chair. No matter what it is that makes home feel like home, your senior living community should provide those same comforts.

Selecting a senior living community can be a difficult decision that often happens after a stressful event such as a fall, a surgery or a lifestyle change. The place you choose should treat you or a loved one as an individual, someone with a unique story. You should feel confident that the staff has experience helping people in similar situations and will treat you with compassion and patience.

It’s important to find out beforehand if services or care can be paid through your private pay, Medicare or long-term care insurance. Some offer other payment options depending on your unique situation. Be sure to make an appointment and talk with someone in the business office to determine your best options.

Many senior living options provide a wide variety of services and amenities. These services should help you enjoy a relaxed, comfortable lifestyle. They should also meet your changing health and physical needs. From activities and lawn maintenance to meal programs and transportation, it’s important to select a senior housing community that provides the right services for you.

Many people fear that they’ll give up their freedom when they move to senior living. In reality, a senior living community should offer more freedom. By helping make daily activities easier, you should have more flexibility to do the things you truly care about.

Each of our locations has specific services, amenities and options for touring our campus. Contact us to learn more.

Fantastic experience: My mother was in Good Sam from August 2014 through August 2015. Good Sam brought stability to a very frustrating situation with dementia and for my family to cope and for my Mom to receive the care she needed that I was not able to give (as I am also raising my 2 daughters and working full-time). The staff (all of them, from the social service worker to the kitchen staff) were amazing with her. She really enjoyed the kitchen staff as she herself was a cook in the Davenprot School System and enjoyed talking about different ways to make food taste good. I highly recommend Good Sam to anybody looking for a safe place for parents who can no longer live on their own especially in the throws of dementia.
