Sutter Davis Hospital Family Birthing Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I LOVED my experience at Sutter Davis Birthing Center! The midwives, nurses were extremely caring and very thoughtful and made my labor so much easier even though it was 30 hours long. They were also very thoughtful of my husband and asked how he was doing which I appreciated a lot. I had a very long labor and when my daughter came out, she had a hard time breathing but they were so calm throughout the process and I knew that they would take good care of my daughter and I. Overall, I had an awesome experience and plan on giving birth there again????
Fantastic experience: Coming from a non medical invasive person this is the best option next to homebirth. For my second I wanted a midwife birth center, birth not at home(I bleed after/too messy at home). I came in ready at 10 and had a natural birth without headache and with all the support I needed. Gina was my midwife she was encouraging helped me deliver baby peacefully, all the nurses were kind and everyone was respectful and honored my birth plan with all the specifications I have. Pediatrician Dr Phillips was also great very kind and helpful. The staffing here is awesome I will definitely come back to deliver baby #3 if we still live in California when that time comes. I would reccomend this place to any low risk pregnant women who want a non invasive, peaceful experience.
Positive experience: Top Rated!!!!!!!! I found this birthing center after doing much research on hospitals with good ratings to deliver at. My original hospital was supposed to be North Bay but after seeing reviews of patients who were not satisfied with their care there, I decided I would go out of my way to find another hospital. I was already a Sutter patient so I don’t know why they assigned me to North Bay anyway. But to the point at hand, I absolutely LOVED my birth experience here at Sutter Davis! First, when I called the midwife to inform them that I would be arriving, I had no issues getting in contact with someone and receiving a proper response. Second, when I arrived I was not yet able to be admitted but they still allowed me to stay and labor a while longer before they said they would send me home. Luckily, they didn’t send me home because an hour after they checked my cervix and said I wasn’t quite yet able to be admitted, I actually went into active labor. Third, the staff was amazing! Only thing that I will say is that the volunteer doula they had assigned to me was not helpful. There was another very helpful woman who came in who was working in the lobby when I came in, that helped me deal with contractions. Fourth, the staff really went out their way to honor my birth wishes, such as delivering in the birthing pool amongst so many other things. They reserved a birthing pool for me, however, I wasn’t able to deliver in it as my baby came right as the pool was done being filled. No one knew how fast my labor would progress. Fifth, the food was okay. The steak and mashed potatoes was the best thing I ate there besides plenty of chicken salad sandwiches. They kept me very hydrated with a good selection of drinks and fruit. Also, staff was short but they did their best to attend to me whenever needed. I honestly would say anything you can think of that you look for in a place where you choose to give birth, this place is it!!!!! Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I didn’t get to labor in the birthing pool as it took too long for it to be filled. Nonetheless, I am very satisfied and my fear of birth is no longer valid!
