California Raptor Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Loved the place! A pretty small place, but you get to see the beautiful birds up close! I was awed and saddened at the same time, reading the stories in how these birds came to be... A really nice place to visit!
Fantastic experience: The center was easy to find off the freeway. Dirt and gravel parking lot. Everyone there is knowledgeable and friendly. There was an owl and hawk out to see up close. I was descrimnative toward owls but now I like them. Self guided tours but staff is on hand for questions. Overall this was very laid back bit upclose and personal. I recommend a visit to all.
Fantastic experience: What an amazing place! The staff were super friendly and took time to answer any questions we had and also give a general overview of the mission of the Raptor center and what their daily activities entail. The owls, vultures, hawks, etc. were really something special. You probably have seen them before, but I think it is something special to see them so incredibly close. It appears all the birds here are in one way or another unfit for the wild, such as birth defects in wing structures, blindness, or improper training from birth which they allegedly cannot recover. As such, it is a pretty feel-good experience to come and visit, and know the birds would otherwise die in the wild.
Fantastic experience: Amazing place!Raptors are all in great condition. They rescue birds, heal them and release them once they regain abilities to survive in wild. Those unreleasable birds will be kept and fed as ambassador birds in the center. They have a small museum and mini class. Sometimes they sale t-shirt or cute raptor-related things. Good place for a family trip. You will learn a lot. Be aware that they will temporally close to public visitation due to influenza. Check their website before you plan your visit.
Fantastic experience: A really neat free experience! Easy to find and just walk around. A lot of interesting birds getting recuperated. About half were empty. But still plenty to see. Clean bathrooms too
