Negative experience: Pain management only works if there are different options. Being told my options would be the same as it were 15 years ago, I chose to not waste my time or effort.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr. Sahai's for a number of years. After two lumber surgeries starting in 2008 lower back pain continues to recur, my only relief is having either a spinal epidural or a sciatic injection. At any office visit Dr. Sahai will listen to my description and location of where my pain is located, examine the area and form her diagnosis. After diagnosis given to insurance company and approval by them Dr. Sahai will schedule my procedure visit, perform her magic and have me back to being pain free. In the past I've seen others because of change in medical insurance and none of the others can compare to Dr. Sahai. I will not see any other for pain management.

Fantastic experience: For almost four years i was at a different pain management program here in the Phoenix area and it wasn’t a very pleasant experience. Patient communication wasn’t a strong point. So I left and started my program with Phoenician Pain. Now Do Not misunderstand that they just freely give out drugs! They are very thorough in their program and take the time to listen to you and help you deal with your pain and how to better manage it. Dr. Sahai is an outstanding physician and treats you as a person first then a patient. Very good Demeanor and not just some stuffy doctor she listens and cares. The same with her PA, Jessica, I normally see Jessica and she also understands her patients. Dr. Sahai has a wonderful staff and I will highly encourage you to contact her to start a refreshing experience.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Sahai was excellent. She diagnosed the pinched nerve in my back from MRI’s done at SimonMed. She immediately contacted my insurer and scheduled an “epidural glucocorticoid” injection. She prescribed Prednisone for the 10+ pain I was in. When the Prednisone kick in (around 5 hours), I was pain free for then seven days. On the 8th day, nerve pain at the 3-level returned. On the second night after taking the Prednisone, I was awake all night. I took Advil PM each night after that to sleep. Can a second cycle of Prednisone be taken? Jack Kuykendall

Fantastic experience: This place is one of the best places I've been to help with my back pain. I've been going through this since 2013 and probably earlier. I have not had ANY pain relief that lasted longer than a month. After my back ablation on Feb 15th. I have been mobile and living a full active life ever since. I still cry from time to time in disbelief. I know it doesn't work for some people, and I completely pray you find what works and dont give up. However, if you are the one skeptic that says nothing has worked and your quality of life sucks, then what would it hurt to give it a try. Back pain can be so crippling and the thought of being unable to care for myself drove me to depression and almost failure to thrive. I truly began to write my life off as "this is as good as it gets." Then I got up ONE more time. Now I feel like I rose up like Jesus on Easter Sunday. I'm Living a life I had forgotten about. Going to the restroom, back to work long term, social groups clubs with friends, going to movie theaters, and traveling. All within reason of course. So thank you Dr. Shimul B. Sahai MD and your team once again for all you do. May God Bless You All.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient with other pain management doctors through out my life and I had the best experience and treatment with Dr Sahai. She actually asked me questions about my daily life and asked what my goals were knowing I had major back surgery and recovery has been tough .she didn't just stick me on some medication and send me out the door she took time to discuss everything. Negative experience: Disgusting clinic. Nurses talk about you behind your back, The “dr” i saw should have his license taken away. Gaslighting a woman’s pain and telling me to get a painful procedure done without having any sort of pain treatment. Make it make sense. DISGUSTING, came here for help but left in tears. I’d never recommend this place

Then there is Dr Jessica Kappes, who is THE BEST Dr. I have ever had the privilege of being their patient. She has excellent character and extremely intelligent. Fantastic experience: Dealing with the pain and nerve issues in my lower spine , pelvis and leg for almost 3 years I was so thankful I was finally referred to Dr. Shimul. I’ve been seeing her for 6 months now and She has been the only doctor that has been able to figure out what is actually wrong with me, she diagnosed me correctly, started treatment, said she can do a nerve block in my thigh for some relief and I was thinking well this will be a while before that happens.. nope the got it approve and bam they call and schedule me to come in to get it done. I was shocked how quick she was moving with my care… She literally has fought this time my insurance to get another procedure approve I need done to start getting relief on my spine, it was denied but she didn’t give up even the 2 time … and now I’m happy to say yes I get it done yay !!!I don’t know many doctors that do that most give up and say oh the insurance won’t pay it. It’s been a process needless to say, but she has been there every step of the way and she has explained what is the best course of action. The staff that works in the office is always so nice and friendly, they are always so helpful with answering questions. I use the app as well to send emails and they do answer and call back the same day and rather quickly I might add. I am so thankful for my care team. I would highly recommend Phoenician Pain & Rehabilitation Center to anyone if they want quality care! Actually I do tell everyone that has any back or injury to check them out.

She listens to us, asks important questions and then moves on to the treatment she thinks is best. She does not just have a couple of items in her toolbox that she applies to everyone. She works out a treatment plan based on the individual and sometimes that plan involves referral to another specialist. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.
