Every patient has unique needs. NorthShore’s Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Services team develops personalized inpatient and outpatient treatment plans that best help patients improve physical function and achieve their rehab goals. Our board-certified PM&R physicians, also known as physiatrists, and specialized therapists provide individualized care customized to each patient’s unique situation. From beginning to end and throughout your medical care and therapy, you can be assured that you and your family will benefit from the full attention and expert knowledge of our multidisciplinary physical medicine and rehab specialists.

Our physiatrists diagnose and non-surgically treat patients with a broad range of physical conditions resulting from injury, illness or disabling conditions. Uniquely focused on restoring function, maximizing independence and preventing injury, NorthShore’s physical medicine physicians develop comprehensive treatment plans that may include a variety of procedures and services, from joint injections to physical therapy.

We provide special clinics and programs in areas such as orthopaedics, sports medicine, neurology, pain management, women’s health, cancer, and wound care. In addition to individual therapy, we offer a variety of group classes in aquatics, orthopaedic yoga and Pilates, to name a few.  

NorthShore’s physical medicine physicians employ a holistic approach that often addresses the root cause of injury rather than only symptoms. We feature physiatrists with specialty training in treating orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, sports medicine and spine conditions. Our physicians work closely with a  team of occupational, physical and speech pathologists (therapists) experienced in treating a broad range of rehabilitation needs for patients of all ages. NorthShore’s therapists provide patients with evidenced-based care delivered in one-on-one sessions to achieve optimal outcomes. Many of these allied health professionals have earned advanced certification in diverse clinical specialties, ranging from orthopaedics to geriatrics, ensuring the delivery of highly specialized therapy plans tailored to individual circumstances.

We strive to provide quality care within our community. Our physical medicine physicians offer convenient office hours—with and without referral—at a variety of Endeavor Health Medical Group facilities. You can access our extensive offering of outpatient Rehab Services from multiple locations throughout the North Shore as well as in Chicago. From fitness center-based clinics to our hospital and stand-alone sites, we offer state-of-the-art facilities featuring the latest rehabilitation technology and exercise equipment, such as our Alter G Anti-Gravity treadmill and Dartfish video analysis system.
