Erlanger Sports Medicine is a team of specialists in various fields of medicine who work together to provide the best possible care for athletes and active people. We offer a wide range of services and are constantly updating our methods to stay ahead of the curve. We are also affiliated with many top teams in the area, and work to train future doctors in sports medicine.
Our location downtown is very convenient and is equipped with the latest treatment technologies. We even have a sports injury walk-in clinic during the fall season.
Our physical therapists are highly trained and work from six locations to help you restore function, relieve pain, and safely get back to the activities you enjoy.
The orthopaedics department at the hospital offers a non-surgical treatment approach to neck and back conditions such as osteoarthritis. This department also offers a non-surgical treatment approach to sports-related injuries and conditions such as exercise-induced asthma and hypertension. The hospital's orthopaedics department also offers chronic condition management and overuse injuries.
The injury prevention program is a healthy approach to weight loss and weight gain by a certified health coach. The concussion management program is a physical therapy program in which our providers work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists and athletic trainers to provide a comprehensive approach to your care. The daily walk-in sports injury clinic is a rehab service in which our providers work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists and athletic trainers to provide a comprehensive approach to your care.

Erlanger Sports Medicine: Reviews
Negative experience: Useless and dishonest. I had an infection in my knee, i pre-paid to see someone, they said i was paid in full. Infection wasn’t going away, they wouldn’t answer or call back. Fastforward a month and I’m getting letters from collection agencies for small balances here and there. What an absurd way to do business. I cannot stand dishonest and lazy people, and they qualify as both.
Fantastic experience: I had two bones break while I was nursing. This office got me in and imaged and in a boot in no time. They are a walk in that also schedules appointments so if you don’t have an appointment expect to wait.
Negative experience: I cant say enough bad things about this facility if you care anything about your health do not go here!!!
Negative experience: I went to Dr. Garrett for 2 for my knees. I need replacements in both. He put me through 2 years of steroid injections every 3 months. Which has now damaged my teeth very badly. He insisted I lose weight in order to get replacements however when I did lose the weight he requested he did not schedule my replacements. Instead he continued with the steroid injections. Then when there was absolutely no space left in the joint to put injections into her decided nerve blocks and nerve ablations would be what fixed my knees. Talk about putting a teeny, tiny bandaid on a gigantic gaping wound. I finally got in the position to go to TOA in Murfreesboro and they booked me for my replacements on the first appointment telling me I qualified for knee replacements over a decade ago. I also didn't have to attempt to lose weight again. I can can get back to my normal weight after my surgery when I am MOBILE again. I lost 2 years of mobility and nearly ended up in a wheelchair in the time I was in this man's "care". He also put incorrect information into my chart.
Fantastic experience: 30 minute wait for being walk-in on a Monday at 8am with others waiting, out the door with X-rays and thorough evaluation by 9am. Two thumbs up.
Negative experience: Worst management. They don't care about the people. Got denied because they didn't wanna deal with me! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
Fantastic experience: My very clumsy kiddo has been to this clinic for two injuries in the last year. We have always been seen right away when doing walk-in services and always have a great experience with Dr. Chatfield. As of now, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I felt we had things explained to us very clearly, had all of our questions answered when we asked, and always never felt like the doctor was rushing us.
Fantastic experience: I was treated with respect, understanding, compassion and everything was explained concisely. Highly recommend their services.
Negative experience: DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY!!!!! My wife tore her ACL so we went here for her initial visit. The doctor initially said that she will need surgery but they wanted to get more imaging. Before we left that first day they said we should go ahead and get the brace they provide for post surgery patients since she will most likely need surgery. Little did we know they would be charging us $800 for a $150 brace I could get online. Then my wife goes and gets a MRI and we NEVER hear back from the doctor with results. Turns out you don't NEED ACL surgery like the doctors said but rather it is optional and my wife has since had very little issues electing to not get the operation. But we still get multiple bills from the facility for the initial visit and the brace. Then erlanger comes and charges us extra for the MRI and use of the time the facility uses on erlanger machines. What a joke. I get the bill a month later and freak out. I go back to return the brace because she only wore it two times and they said they only accept a 15 day return. I'm a teacher and that is almost what I get paid in a week of work. I am absolutely apauled.
Negative experience: I felt like the PA had made up her mind in advance as to what my diagnosis was, and she was wrong. She refused to send me for a MRI, and after a second opinion, I found that her recommended treatment was incorrect and would have done nothing for me. She was dismissive and did not listen to my concerns. I was highly disappointed in the incompetence and lack of professionalism and compassion at this sports medicine group.
Negative experience: Erlanger PA said I had a frozen. I wanted a second opinion he nailed it. I have a pinched nerve. After 7 weeks and lots of pain. Thank you Dr. Lashley.
Negative experience: Literally the worst place ever! I have been sitting for 2 hours. Waiting room is empty and everyone went for lunch before seeing me. Honestly the most unprofessional, dirty and down right pathetic place I have ever been.
Negative experience: Not the place to go. Well if you have nothing but time to waste. We have been sitting in the waiting room for over 3 hours, I've asked for the office manager and it been 20 min and I still have not had my concerns addressed. NO EXCUSE!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Cincere was amazing he took his time and helped get me back on track when i was having problems after surgery with PT, very caring and and excellent surgeon! His nurse and staff were all wonderful as well :)
Negative experience: I sat in the waiting room for an hour and no one came, I even voiced my concern about the wait time and still everyone was being seen before me.
Fantastic experience: I've been here several times and every time I have a great experience with the doctors and nurse teams.
Fantastic experience: I took my daughter here as a walk-in when she tore her MCL. We saw Andrew Roden and were in and out quickly. We returned for follow ups with Dr. Bill Moore Smith and each time we were leaving the office within 30 minutes. All the staff were extremely friendly and I can't say enough good things about our experience here. We will definitely return should any other injuries arise.
We're happy to hear this, Rachel! Thank you for sharin
Negative experience: Went in for knee injury, was sent for an MRI 16 days later...because that was the first available they could get, I understand this is not the fault of the office but they could have tried to contact the other out patient MRI facilities. 5 days after the MRI, I have left numerous messages for a call back with nothing! They wrote me off of work, now won't give me any information. One employee stated that they had called and spoke with me......uh..No, you have not. Now, I am taking my businesses to Dr. Reddish at Parkridge. I am VERY disappointed in the EXTREME lack of professionalism that has been displayed here. Oh, and they didn't call in/send in my prescription until the day after my visit. Will not ever go here again.

Fantastic experience: Used walk-in service for a head injury. In the door at 8am, getting x-rays at 8:30am, out at 9am. All employees very nice and helpful. Strongly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Nothing but good things to say about all the MD’s and staff. They are able to work with my busy schedule and always accommodate me with an appointment when I need it. Andrew Roden and Erica have been great and I will be referring family and friends. Thanks team
