Performance Plus Physical Therapy

Fantastic experience: It was my first time ever doing physical therapy so I didn’t know what to expect. I felt very welcomed here at Performance Plus. All of the staff were really kind. Dr. Kevin was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. I came in with neck pain and he explained why we did each exercise and how it would help out in the long run. After working with him, Angela and Khoa I feel so much better and haven’t had anymore pain. I can’t recommend this place enough. My experience was amazing!

Fantastic experience: I was in for my right knee/right foot/right hip/right shoulder blade. The referral was sent by the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, CA. The therapist Jesse Stallworth Smith I saw was outstanding and showed exceptional patient care in finding a solution to get me walking normal again. Please inform the CEO that therapist Jesse Smith was nice and polite. So please hire more like him.........

Fantastic experience: Dr Kevin, all assistants, and the receptionists always made me feel welcomed every time I came in for my appointments. When I first started my physical therapy I was in pain pretty much any time I sat or stood up but now the pain is gone for the most part and I can get back to my everyday life. It was also my first time ever going to physical therapy so Dr Kevin took the time to explain why each exercise was beneficial for me, and if I had any other questions the assistants were there to also answer my questions. The office is also very clean and they are constantly disinfecting equipment as patients roll through. I even got sent home with a print out of exercises to continue to do now that my time there is done. Again thank you Dr Kevin and all the staff for helping with my recovery.

Negative experience: Hi, Today my son had an appointment at 4:30, I arrived at 4:25 and the assistant told me he had to be here at 4:00, just to fill out the paperwork she said you are half an hour late, I can fill out the paperwork in five minutes, and I was in physical therapy at 4:25, is this reasonable? His appointment is at 4:30 and she wants me to be there half an hour early just to fill out the paperwork, and my son was in school and leaves at 3:40 and I went to pick him up, and straight to physical therapy he didn't rest or even eat, to make it to his appointment, she didn't appreciate this and told me I had to make another appointment

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kevin Stahl was very tentative and truly cared for my wellness. After many sessions under his care, my right elbow was so much better and back to normal. I truly appreciate and I am grateful for have being treated by Dr. Stahl.

Fantastic experience: After dealing with some pain in my shoulder, my health care provider offered physical therapy session with Performance Plus Physical Therapy. This was my first experience with physical therapy so I wasn't sure what to expect. The staff was exceptional, tailoring each session to my specific needs and goals. Their expertise and guidance empowered me to push myself further than I thought possible, with their help, I made significant progress in a relatively short amount of time. She is positive, supportive and listens to my needs. She planned out my recovery process and kept me informed also set up realistic expectations while pushing me when I needed it. A few weeks ago I couldn't walk and now I'm walking unassisted. So happy with my progress and highly recommend Jacqueline and Performance Plus for your physical therapy needs

Fantastic experience: Performance Plus Physical Therapy in Chula Vista is by far the best experience I have ever had with physical therapy. The clinic is located in Chula Vista on East Palomar Street. The facility is clean and most of the staff is absolutely amazing. I was very fortunate to be paired with the best staff members under my care. For almost 3.5 months Dr. Jacqueline Dagostino and Erick Plazo had put together a plan to help relieve shoulder pain I had been experiencing for months. They pin pointed the issue and consistently worked with me until I was confident enough to be discharged to continue at home exercises. Jacquie and Erick always made me feel welcomed every time I came into the clinic, always listened to what I needed to say and genuinely cared about what was going on. We’d always have great conversations to help comfort and distract me through my pain during exercises. The exercise specialist are also great! I was always paired up with Alicia and she was just the sweetest employee who walked me through each exercise. Lastly, there’s Lexie, the amazing front desk specialist who always greeted me with a smile and always (without fail) asked me how my day was. This always set the vibe to be positive and comforting every time I walked in through the doors. Hands down if I ever need PT again, I will be returning to this location. Thank you Performance Plus PT Chula Vista you are all amazing! Thank you for helping me get better and most of all, your amazing service.

Fantastic experience: Performance+Plus Physical Therapy gets a 5+ star rating in my book. Special thanks to Dr. Rachel Herman, PT, DPT who got me back to my old life of swimming, biking, gardening, baking and basically back to my 66-year-old active self again after a total shoulder arthroplasty. The atmosphere at the Chula Vista office is professional and friendly and the entire staff are very knowledgeable, professional and very attentive to patient needs. Thanks to Lexi who always greeted me as I arrived with a warm and friendly smile, I enjoyed our brief chats. Thanks to Dr. Todd Sparks for getting a great team together, Dr. Giovanni “Gio” Villanueva and Dr. Jacqueline for stepping in when Dr. Rachel was away or my timer went off. Thanks to the exercise specialists, Alicia, Eduard, Geenee, Justin and Joanna (sp.) who guided me through the exercises for the past 7 months and keeping the clinic spotless. You all are a godsent and will be missed, but I will see you all later, probably with more baked goods.

Fantastic experience: I was a former Physical Therapy Aide/Exercise Specialist at Performance Plus, and I could not say enough great things about this clinic! The physical therapists here are extremely knowledgeable, caring, and professional. They are truly experts at what they do, and offer top tier quality care to every patient they work with. Special shout outs to Dr. Jacqueline, Dr. Gio, Dr. Todd, and Dr. Andrew, although any therapist you work with is just as great. This clinic is the reason I fell in love with physical therapy, and I am sure the rest of the exercise specialists and interns that work/have worked at PPPT can say the same. I have referred all of my friends and family to PPPT, and they have only had positive things to say about their experience as patients here. I will never stop recommending this clinic.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend performance plus physical therapy to anyone in need of rehabilitation. Dr Gio is amazing. He works hard to find stretches and exercises that help with whatever pain you’re having. For months he helped me chase my pain after having surgery on my hip and finally after a year of PT and stretching I feel more like myself then I have in years. This is also the only PT facility I have found that spends time on manual therapy, which I believe really helps with the healing process.

It is a very clean the staff is always nice and professional. Dr Jackie is a miracle worker with her hands on approach to healing and rejuvenating muscle and joint recovery. I have had two knee replacements, surgery for a bone tumor being removed, a torn labrum in my hip, and most recently a torn hamstring. I also have osteoarthritis. I am doing wonderful and Dr Jackie was amazing with her skill and knowledge and care. I highly recommend Performance Physical therapy to anyone in need for therapy.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to a different physical therapy before and Performance Plus (E. Palomar) is the best compared to my previous experience. Dr. Jacqueline is a remarkable, professional, and friendly physical therapist. She spends quality time with each patient to make sure you’re improving and by listening to your concerns. Her and the team make you feel comfortable and they genuinely care about your injury. The Exercise Specialists, Thomas, Jared, Jennifer, and Alicia are very encouraging. I thought I was going to be doing the same exercises every session. However, they kept challenging me with different workouts to help me improve my mobility and it never got boring. It’s evident that they are passionate about their job and it personally made me motivated. During the pandemic, it felt reassuring to know that the clinic is safe to be in because the interns do a great job of maintaining and cleaning all of the equipment. I will definitely know where to go if I need physical therapy and I highly recommend Performance Plus to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I was treated at Performance Plus for 3 months for a total hip replacement. Background, I was a basket case after my Hip Surgery . I was highly dependent on my walker because my thigh muscles were in bad shape because I was bone on bone for a long time before hip surgery. Doctors Giovanni and Rachel Herman were very professional and accommodating in treating me and making sure I had a full recovery. They challenged me every step of the way during my recovery. The assistants and staff were very attentive and extremely helpful aswell. Today was my last day and now I am able to walk for long periods of time up and down hills, ride my ebike and participate in day to day activities with no issues . I highly recommend Performance Plus to anyone who wants to have a successful recovery from a surgical procedure or injury.

Fantastic experience: Excellent staff and service. They take it easy on you when you’re in pain and challenges you in other days. They make sure you do the exercises the right way.. The stretching, and massages to open up your joints is very healing performed by Dr, Jackie. To end the session, they give you hot pads and TENS. I had shoulder surgery and in a 3-4 weeks I was feeling better and my arm movements has improved significantly. Staff are very friendly and caring.

Fantastic experience: I was in excruciating back pain that was not responding to anti-inflammatories. I was about to request disability. I called PP Physical Therapy and Dr. Todd spoke to me on the phone and asked me to give it two sessions before making that step. He saw and evaluated me the same day. After the two sessions I returned to work. After 5 sessions of a combination of traditional PT and aquatic PT, I feel much better and have a pla to prevent future injury. My family and I have have used four different physical therapy practices over the years and this is the bet I have seen.

Fantastic experience: My experience at this facility was great. My physical therapist was Jenny. She was excellent, very helpful during the recovery of my injury. When I first started my treatment I had pain in my left shoulder and when I was done with all of the sessions I was able to make any movement or exercise without any pain :)

Fantastic experience: I’m so blessed that my primary doctor referred me to this place. I’m so thankful! and I’m so much better now. When I first came here I’m on my crutches and have swollen feet. I didn’t walk for 2 months because of pulled hamstring and a torned muscle. Thanks to Dr. Jenny Santamaria because after one session I felt the result and be able to walk again little by little. Fantastic experience: If you're just beginning your search for a physical therapist and don't know where to start..search no more! Or, on the other hand, if you've been disappointed with other physical therapists, the quality of care, the clinical environment, etc., you've come to the right place! Dr. Todd is the consummate professional with an exceptional bedside manner, highly knowledgeable, and exceedingly competent at his craft. My experience with physical therapy began approximately 4 years years ago. Following a car accident from which I developed upper back and neck pain, namely trigger points, I was referred to San Diego Sports Medicine Physical Therapy. My experience there did not impress me. I felt like a number, was given a sheet of paper with a bunch of exercises to follow. When I walked out, I didn't feel like I wanted to come back. "If this is what physical therapy is like, I don't think I want to do this. I'll just do my own thing", I thought. I shared my experience with a relative who happened to be a patient of Dr. Todd's. She spoke very highly of his quality of care and practice in general. She recommended I call to make an appointment. I'm so glad I did! It's now been approximately two and a half years on and off under Dr. Todd's care for a series of issues: trigger points, De Quervain Syndrome and sciatic pain. In each of these respects, Dr. Todd has done careful assessments and then moved on to offering a treatment plan that has included a combination of stretching, manipulation, massage, heat and electrical stimulation. And it doesn't end there. As I came to realize, wellness depends on continuing the care at home. To this end, Dr. Todd offers practical (and realistic) stretches and/or exercises to carry out on one's own time. Among Dr. Todd's advanced credentials, he is a certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. In other words, he does "adjustments" whenever needed. Getting adjusted has come to be an added benefit to the care he provides. Under Dr. Todd's care, I have recovered full range of motion and my pain has diminished greatly. I have learned more about my symptoms and the sources of my pain. More importantly, I know what to do at home to manage my wellness. Cheers to the crown jewel of physical therapy for Southern-southern California: Performance Plus Physical Therapy!! Dr. Todd also has an acute clinical eye for recruiting the best doctors to his practice. Case in point: Dr. Jenny Santamaria. During COVID we discovered we were eligible for many physical therapy sessions through our insurance. Simultaneously, we were looking for physical therapy care for our 5 y/o boy. He has mild Cerebral Palsy that is reflected in constant tightness in one of his legs (hyper-tonic). He has been under physical therapy care with county services for the last 3-4 years. We broached the topic with Dr. Todd and he recommended one of his staff, Dr. Jenny Santamaria. He said Dr. Jenny has a concentration in pediatric physical therapy. She is a young and cheery individual. Dr. Jenny and our son quickly developed a rapport. She implemented an array of fun activities that targeted his problem areas. It has been very gratifying to see our son both enjoy himself and receive quality care from Dr. Jenny. I highly recommend Dr. Jenny for pediatric physical therapy. Thanks Dr. Jenny!

Fantastic experience: Everyone here was a pleasure to work with. I had 4 different people helping get better. I went in because I had a surgery due to two years one on my bicep and the other on my labrum . They did a few different things to help me get better. From stretching and lifting weight again to cupping and to taping. I feel they worked on me where I needed it the most. Highly recommend for anyone in need of sports therapy or non in the Southbay area.

Fantastic experience: I am a physical therapist and salsa dancer who needed help! I was referred to Danelle and after talking with her in depth about my back issues and prior injury history, I felt she could get me back on the dance floor and working with less pain. She was thorough in assessing my body movements and had a clear plan for me to reach my goals. Of course as a physical therapist myself I had lots of questions and she was detailed at answering them. She even helped me with an old shoulder issue that popped up during our sessions. I highly recommend Performance Plus Physical Therapy for dancers and even dancers at heart!!
