Clarksville VA Clinic: Reviews
Negative experience: So I’m gonna chalk this up as misinformation from the front desk personnel that is up there telling soldiers and veterans what actually do. I just got through driving from Clarksville to Nashville because I was told that I can turn in my medical records down in Nashville, but then I get told from the front desk here at the VA clinic that the PCP (primary care physician) up in Clarksville has to accept my medical records to get them scanned in to put them with my medical records. They don’t know why I got sent down. Secondly, I went to get a new ID card being told by the people at the front desk that it would be done faster and would get one available immediately to which I’ve been told by the people here at Nashville they’re like no you could’ve gotten it done in Clarksville and you would still have to wait 2 to 6 weeks for your new ID card to get delivered to you. Because it’s the the same in Nashville, you have to wait 2 to 6 weeks.
Fantastic experience: Go to other VAs and see how bad they are compared to this one. This one is amazing. I get greeted and attended to immediately everytime. They are proactive in my health. They follow up, they help me with things I never think about. I love it here
Negative experience: They're great about getting you the care, but my biggest complaint is they don't honor appointment times ever. Always show up on time, and they always make you wait 15-30mins after your appointment windows. They want us to respect there time, but they don't want to respect the patients time.
Negative experience: Be ad VETERAN SHOULD CONE FIRST NOT LAST .THEY ARE MORE THAN A NUMBER
Positive experience: My name is Kevin Haley. My phone is broken and the system would not let me contact you. I can't get access 2myhealthyvet w/o validating my information by what? The same phone I don't have access 2! I'm so stressed my appointments are in my phone
Positive experience: The facility is nice, staff was always kind and friendly, and my pcm and their team were always thorough. I had an amazing expirience when it came to my back treatment. They have a great team that consists of a physical therapist, acupuncturist, and chiropractor, they were all really great and helped me so much so a special thank you to them. They have a lot of in clinic care options so you don't always have to go to Nashville which was nice. Call times and wait was usually a bit of a pain and you'd get tossed around from person to person occasionally. But overall I had a good expirience.
Negative experience: Always a terrible experience.
Negative experience: Your typical bad VA they kept trying to deny me community care making up all these excuses none of which are valid according to the mission statement act then I called patient advocacy Andy was useless again it's the va what do you expect reached out to the congressional liason his aide called down and magically they found a way to get me a community care appointment approval what's crazy is they normally say it can take up to 14 days for approval I had mine in 15 minutes might have something to do with me telling them if it took that long I'd just call the aide again this location is criminally negligent in my opinion
Negative experience: When my husband first transferred his care to this clinic I was very pleased with the care that he received. However, I don’t know what happened, but over the last year the quality of their care has gone to heck in a hand basket. I can’t even get anyone to answer & return my phone calls. This also goes for the Nashville VA. My husband is seriously ill with Parkinson’s Disease & he needs help right now & I spend so much time “fighting the system” and I’m emotionally drained from watching him go through all this & “fighting the system” for him I’m at my complete wits end!!! If I could I would give them negative stars!!!
Negative experience: Dr cook is absolutely terrible. I came in for migraines, birth control, and a referral behavioral health and she spent our entire appointment telling me im morbidly obese and i need to see a nutritionist. …. I am a powerlifter of 7 years and i follow a diet and weight training program with a coach… i have more visible muscle structure than most men. I came in sweatpants and she assumed i was some couch chunker. I had to refuse to let her take my weight at my next appt so we could discuss WHAT I NEEDED at MY APPOINTMENT.

Negative experience: I waited for 5 months to get an appointment to see a PCP. Once I finally had an appointment, my PCP was on vacation and I was passed off to someone filling in for him. They put wrong information in my record, forgot to order prescriptions, lost paperwork, ordered treatments for wrong body part, and basically dropped the ball at every opportunity. If you have the ability to go elsewhere, I would. According to my nurse they’re managing 2,000 to 2,500 patients for each provider, which is a ridiculous client list to manage.
Negative experience: If you want astoundly poor care. Terrible customer service. A place who ultimately doesn't care about veterans Healthcare. Look no further than the clarksville VA. Would you like your doctor to not give you results of conditions. Would you like to ultimately wait months for an appointment and not get seen because the doctor is out and you were not informed? Get in line again for another few months. Look no further than the clarksville VA. A VA who truly embodies the excellently failing veterans.
Negative experience: In my recent experience at a Veteran Affairs (VA) clinic, I encountered numerous issues that highlighted significant deficiencies in the system. Upon arriving for my scheduled appointment, I was subjected to an hour-long wait, which is entirely unacceptable. This delay is a direct consequence of the clinic being short-staffed in the bloodwork department—a problem that stems from the VA’s failure to offer competitive wages to attract and retain qualified staff. This shortage of staff is just the beginning of the issues. Throughout my visit, I was met with an appalling lack of respect and professionalism from the clinic staff. From the moment I checked in to the time I had my blood drawn, the demeanor of the employees was consistently discourteous. A particularly troubling incident involved a veteran who struggled to walk and was met with nothing but a disdainful attitude from the staff member supposed to assist them. This pattern of behavior suggests a systemic issue within the VA’s hiring and training programs. It appears that the administration’s current approach is failing to instill the necessary values of respect and professionalism in its employees. The pervasive disrespect can be attributed to the hiring practices that favor veterans, who, in some cases, may carry forward the very behaviors that undermine the ethos of care and service. One of the most glaring examples of this lack of professionalism was during my own blood draw. The staff member, “Latrice,” was playing inappropriate music—specifically, “Making Love to a Stripper”—which is entirely unbefitting of a clinical setting. Such behavior not only reflects poorly on the individual but also on the institution as a whole. This experience has left me deeply concerned for the well-being of veterans who rely on these services. The absence of professionalism and respect within the VA clinic is a disservice to those who have served our country. It is imperative that the VA undertakes a comprehensive review of its hiring and training protocols to ensure that all staff members embody the values of respect, care, and professionalism that our veterans deserve. Without significant changes, the VA will continue to fail in its mission to provide the highest standard of care to our nation’s heroes.
Positive experience: I’m a retired Navy Vet. I went in to order my eye glasses. I was asked twice if I was a veteran, apparently because I’m a woman. Once by a hyper over eager “greater?” And again by a gruff woman in optometry. Asking a women who tries to use VA facilities if they’re veterans is disrespectful. A better approach is to ask to see an ID, or just treat them the same as a man who comes in for services. Update after second appointment. Staff were more appropriate. The facility is well staffed and supplied. Problem; there is. An unpleasant and tense atmosphere. After a nurse referred to “HIPPA” several times, I did a computer search for HIPPA in the VA. Tennessee Valley Healthcare popped up as having many HIPPA violations. These violations pertained to staff misusing and being careless with patient information. Patients cannot commit HIPPA violations. The way patients and medical staff are “escorted “ every second they are in the clinic creates a hostile environment. This means of punishing patients for staff mistakes and criminal activity is not a solution to the staff problems . The Ft Campbell VA clinic in Blanchfield hospital is even worse. I called the patient advocate after my first appointment there, regarding actual abuse from an admin assistant. I have used VA services for 24 years. I worked in patient care for 35 years. These clinics management don’t know what there’re doing. Medical staff were all very kind and professional at both clinics.

Fantastic experience: Great people, great customer service!
Positive experience: Some people here are helpful. PAVULURI is AWFUL! Rude, condescending, talks over you, interupts you. Total unprofessional clown
Negative experience: Typically a rating or review would be based on experience from being seen. However, since it’s been 5 months and I still haven’t been seen FOR MY INITIAL VA APPOINTMENT, I feel like I can preemptively give this a one star. Lower if I could. Patient advocate Andy Richart doesn’t respond to voicemails, or even follows up like he said he would. Sent a letter to congressman Green about the situation. I’m now considering moving (AGAIN) to a place where I might get seen. Dealing with this place makes further understand why veteran suicide rates are so high. Sad.
Negative experience: Showed up for scheduled labs, just for the clinic to be completely closed down with no one in there and I did not receive any calls or email notifying that they would be closed. Horrible VA Clinic would not recommend.
Fantastic experience: Fast and helpful
Negative experience: I wish I could say something positive about this site but I can’t. Waited way to long for an id card for really just taking a picture. Then trying to enroll in their health was a nightmare. Seems this clinic is not ran very well. Last thing when I was there playing on the phone I came across a VA employees profile on my for you page and they make some interesting comments to make me not want to be there anymore. I don’t feel safe going to this clinic as it is a good ole boy system with the staff. The patient advocate is a joke and you can tell he sides with certain doctors when talking with him.
Negative experience: The worst ever in the whole country!!
Fantastic experience: Helpful
Fantastic experience: Went to get a new id, the staff was great and place very clean.
Negative experience: Terrible services they do not care about women veterans at all!
Positive experience: Some long wait times kind of annoying, but the care is good, don’t like that I can’t see my primary care until couple months out.
Negative experience: I need some clear and concise assistance in deciding if this place is as bad as the I'm reading. I am 100% P/T.... yet with having injuries that aren't all visual have mixed aid from the VA.
Negative experience: Good luck trying to call to make an appointment. 20 minutes just to get transferred to a switch board. I love the careless system we have.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been here at least for PT, dry needling, and blood work. Scheduling is never far out, and service is great. Thanks!
Negative experience: I’m Priority group 1 and i still have to wait 6 months for an appointment with my primary. Not even joking I have health problems and the only option I have is going to the ER it’s ridiculous Clarksville VA is so awful
Fantastic experience: Need Help !!! I just want to help my spouse . He is ill , but he always lies to his provider , her name is Hodges C . How Can I contact to her in person , because I do want to tell her about my spouse 's activities and bad habits and I think these affect his health so badly . Please help if someone knows the DR , please contact me .. Thank you very much. P U
Fantastic experience: Consistent exemplary customer service! I attended the Pact Act Summer VetFest and it was organized, informative, and stacked with staff members eager to assist Veterans. Thank You All for Your Service and Support!
Negative experience: I generally go here for an annual to stay in the system and for glasses. The doctors have been good, my problems are the lack of consistency, since 2016 as my primary care I have seen at least 4 or 5 different doctors during this time. My June appointment last year was canceled because the Dr changed to more Telehealth appointments. The only reason I found this out was because I went to a May Nashville Va appointment only to be told it had been canceled. The printout showed both appointments were canceled in December the year before, no heads up so I could reschedule for about the same time. This year my July Clarksville appointment was canceled 3 weeks before because my provider moved on, and in true form my Nashville Va appointment for Monday was cancelled on Saturday and will now be in October. At least this time I received calls to let me know.
Negative experience: I am sorry to say that I had an extremely negative experience at the Clarksville Veteran Affairs Clinic. The level of care provided to patients was inadequate and the service to veterans was poor. The lack of support and consistent understaffing created an environment where patients did not receive the attention they deserved. One of the biggest issues I encountered was that the labs were never available during my visits. This made it difficult to receive the proper care I needed and resulted in long wait times for lab tests. Additionally, the clinic always seemed understaffed, making it difficult to get appointments and receive the attention I needed during my visits. I spent 2 hours in the lobby after approaching the front desk multiple times to find out my schedule appointment had no care team to fulfill it. The inadequate treatment of patients was unacceptable. The staff seemed indifferent and uninterested in providing quality care to veterans. The lack of compassion and attention to detail was shocking and disheartening. I expected much better from a clinic that is supposed to specialize in caring for our nation's veterans. The Clarksville Veteran Affairs Clinic is severely lacking in the level of care it provides to patients. The poor service to veterans and lack of support only adds to the frustration and disappointment experienced by those who rely on this clinic for healthcare. I would not recommend this clinic to any veteran in need of medical care.
Negative experience: The front desk enforce the policy of the clinic based on what they want people to do or wear upon entering the clinic. They are always booked up it takes months sometimes to get in the community care personnel. The reviews veterans needs for outside the VA appointments they take their sweet time sometimes months
Negative experience: 1 hour wait time for a flu shot. Can't even squedule appointments or request records through the front desk. Phones never work. On the slim chance that you're able to speak to someone appointments are booked up three months ahead. I understand it's "free" for service members, but you'd still expect the government to invest some more money into their staff and clinic to better serve veterans.
Negative experience: After having a team member schedule and appointment for me and waiting several weeks the front desk calls me 6 days before my appointment to cancel and reschedule months later. I wouldn't be so livid if this was the first time this had happened. However, it is not. I've been turned away after waiting an hour and half in the lobby and they have systematically canceled appointments like this before and its ridiculous. I wish I could afford the insurance that doesn't cost extra for "pre-exisiting" medical conditions due to my time in service, but I guess I'll have to settle for "unsurance" known as VA Medical Care because I'm unsure if they'll ever actually keep an appointment.
Negative experience: Contacting the Clarksville VA is atrocious. If you attempt to call, it rings out to 15 other VA centers in the area that cannot scheduled an appointment at the "Clarksville VA". When you finally are able to call the front desk, either by extension or by finally getting through, you have to sit for 30-45 minutes to finally reach the front desk. Front Desk customer service has always been subpar. No one ever wants to look at you and makes it feel like you just interrupted their private phone call or Facebook Message. They will not go one step further to provide any customer service, at all. If it involves them getting up from their chair, good luck. On a plus note, Dr. Washington and her staff have always been helpful and going beyond to assist with my medical care.
Negative experience: Dr.Camarata recently wrongfully refused myself a medically necessary colonoscopy and upper endoscopy repeatedly. I had to file external complaints and aggressively follow up to receive the care I earned, like most Veterans that are made to advocate aggressively for their care. I've had ongoing bowel issues and surgeries, abdominal pain with significant weight loss, missed a lot of work and time with my family sick in bed and only getting sicker. The patient advocate at the VA was sent countless emails and phone calls. I was made to send in additional records to jutisify the need, really? I've had documentated issues with my bowels and came to Dr. CAMARATA RIGHT AFTER A TENOVA ADMISSION FOR A BOWEL OBSTRUCTION IN DECEMBER 2022. SHE ASKED ME WHY I WAS THERE TO SEE HER? WHEN HER NURSE ASKED ME TO COME IN AND I WAS JUST DISCHARGED FROM THE HOSPITAL. Turns out after 4 months after the second denial for colonoscopy and upper endoscopy that I have Chrons Disease now confimed by the VA with damage now to my organs and body. This has cost me time, decreased my life span, my children and family are suffering because their mom is in and out of the hospital WEEKly!!!, cost me money, and I am still in pain. I went to the GI Clinic Friday in Nashville at the VA after a verbal diagnosis of Chrons Disease Wednesday to meet with the doctor and that doctor also asked me why I was there? What the hell is going on with medical care at the vA? GUESS IT'S GOING TO TAKE CIVIL LITIGATION TO GET CARE. I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY CHRONS MEDICATIONS NOW ANY INSTRUCTIONS FROM MY DOCTOR ON DIET OR DAILY ACTIVITIES. That GI doctor told me to go to the ER if I am in pain, which is their favorite phrase. So I had the Nashville VA patient advocate escort me to the ER she said there was nothing she could do because I have a pending Whitehouse Line complaint. They take me to a room in the ER because like I've been telling them my Hr and BP were both high from the Chrons and not sleeping due to PAIN. The Nashville VA places me in a room with another MAN!!! I HAVE now filed a Congressional Complaint, a Whitehouse Line Complaint, and will continue to document my attempts to receive care daily via the Myhealthevet Portal. I have sought legal counsel. Yesterday I went to the Clarksville VA clinic Whole Health Clinic for diffuse pain (in Addition to my Chrons Disease) and they were argumentative with me about care and also referred me out to Community Care because they don't have capacity to provide care, why did I wait 3 months for that visit? It was pointless and another tactic the VA uses to prolong Veterans from receiving care and paying for services. I continue to incur out of pocket medical expenses weekly since the Va is not providing medical care I earned after serving 20 yrs in two branches.
Fantastic experience: Excellent
Fantastic experience: Need Help !!! I just want to help my spouse . He is ill , but he always lies to his provider , her name is Hodges C . Positive experience: It takes a while to get into the system but once you're in, they have everything I needed
Positive experience: It takes a while to get into the system but once you're in, they have everything I needed
Fantastic experience: Good doctor with referrals and blood tests competent staff prompt on appointment time easy to access to building for handicap
Fantastic experience: I went to my first appointment on February 13. I received excellent service from not only my doctor and his nurse but with everyone I encountered. Thank you for the services that you provide for veterans.
Positive experience: I retired in Dec 93 and have never used a VA facility until April 2022. I must say up this point I am very satisfied with the service and support provided.
Fantastic experience: One of the best clinics I've been to.. very time efficient when it comes to appointments!
Fantastic experience: Very glad that I have this resource available to me and grateful to the staff.
Fantastic experience: Yes, see y'all tomorrow VA Buddies!
Negative experience: Very frustrating experience. Can't reach anyone who will help. Couldn't talk to anyone who seemed to care at all. Won't try again
Negative experience: Trash, waited for no reason.
Negative experience: This place a a big joke. Can't check in early. They are always behind schedule. You will almost never get anything accomplished.
Negative experience: Not urgent care. I guess it's good as the rest of the VA system... Which means it's terrible but free
Negative experience: A strong dislike to serve veterans with all the constant misinformation and poor direction, I do not know how this is considered a VA Facility. But what I can tell you is that it is full of federal employees who know how to sham on fed time.
Negative experience: I gave a review of the PT and Acupuncture clinic. I even got a call back. I was told things would improve on the acupuncture side with a new Dr. It didn't happen. My appointment that I waited a month for, was moved back another 3 weeks. I also was not given but 2 days a week to choose from. Also I work afternoon and nights. I was only given 8 am as a choice. The scheduling person was almost rude. She told me she gave me a choice and it wasn't her fault I couldn't take what was offered. Not impressed with the schedule change. Add help and move people back. Typical government maneuver.
Fantastic experience: I was treated very good. New to the VA health care and I must say I love this facility. It’s not perfect but much better than some of the other places I’ve been. Nurse “Mo” is the nicest person up there! She treated me well and my concerns were her concerns. Thank you!!!
Fantastic experience: Awesome experience every time I go. The people are fantastic, super helpful and really care for veterans. Very glad I get to go here for most of my healthcare.
Positive experience: The front office staff is courteous, friendly and professional. Dr. West and majority of his team are good; however, his RN is not the most professional. When in the healthcare environment it is necessary to have kind and caring customer service.
Fantastic experience: Local and easy! Love that we have a clinic in town! And the places is good! Not long waiting in a lobby that is actually comfortable. The VA got it right here
Fantastic experience: The Audiology team is definitely one of the best the VA has...
Negative experience: Most of the people here (other than Mr Larry) have a "can't do!" attitude.
Negative experience: Horrible service. No help at all Sickening.
Negative experience: This place is ridiculous I had to wait an hour and 15 minutes for something as small as doing a urinalysis after bringing this up a couple different times to the front desk each response was yeah you’ll be the next group that’s called but that never happened absolutely ridiculous
Negative experience: updated: since covid they are basically closed and their only function is setup appointments which you'll be looking at 4-5 month wait then have to drive to nashville to be seen by medical provider. Very little VA accountability here i'm afraid...
Negative experience: Would have done a no star review but that isn't an option go in just looking for outpatient ptsd information like pamplets or something along those lines and the guy at the front desk is so busy he can't really help me an there are no paperwork or printout of what they offer it's like that's what the paper information is for don't know why I even bothered new state new building new people same stupid VA
Negative experience: Now I understand why it has 2.9 star reviews. Actually this place does not deserve even that. Rude! Unprofessional front receptionist working here... bad start!! “Veterans first” are all nice propaganda. Disappointing and confusing that if they are there to provide or we go there to provide their job security.
Negative experience: Standard terrible service from the va. Stopping treatments for 3 months so you can see them for no reason. Making you pay out of pocket if you want to continue treatments outside the va.
Negative experience: This doctor (pavuluri) has NO EMPATHY for her patient!!! After EVERY appointment, my son was in tears and felt WORSE than he did before speaking with her. If she does care...she has a hell of a way showing it!!! No mental patient should feel worse AFTER speaking with their doctor because of the way the Dr spoke to them. My son is a young disabled veteran who has mental issues and she made him feel worse every time he spoke with her. Find help elsewhere because SHE IS NOT IT!!!
Fantastic experience: I have been going to Clarksville VA clinic since my retirement in 2009. I do not remember having a bad experience at this clinic. I have been approached with nothing but respect. My nurse Rita Johnson is the best. She goes over and beyond for me and provides insight on services the VA clinic offers vets.
Fantastic experience: Ms. Cook is my provider, she is very nice and very concerned with your heath. She returns calls and is right on time with the TelaHeath.
Fantastic experience: I'm far from a fan of the overall VA but the staff here are absolutely amazing from the entry way people checking Temps and helping guide people where to go, to the receptionists and then my primary care provider along with the lady who just taught me new things about knees and how it all works and finally the lovely young lady scheduling my follow up. I was having a terrible time yesterday trying to contact VA in Nashville to no success and then clarksville VA stepped up and the most amazing gentleman called me and handled everything while I was being well let's say rude! Got an appointment the next day! I love everyone here SIMPLY THE BEST PEOPLE!
Negative experience: Who is running this place? Seriously who is running it? Rude and completely unprofessional staff. This place is full of people who clearly hate veterans. Stay away from this place at all costs.
Negative experience: I waited an hour for a VA ID and still didn't get one because I was never called. Why request veterans to get ids and they can't get them? Then I requested to be taken out of the queue because I refused to wait further but the receptionist couldn't understand what I saying. I just wanted to not hold up the line for those waiting after me since I knew I was leaving. Why is that a hard concept to understand. Complete waste of time and no consideration.
Negative experience: I've been with this facility since 2016 and the professionalism at the front desk is decreasing. While some reviews point out people working there are prior military so their attitudes may come of as hostile, that makes absolutely no sense. The job requirement is to provide upstanding care to veterans and that includes courteousness when booking appointments. If those requirements cannot be meet, than best to find employment elsewhere. I personally know a few people on the staff. Didn't care for those individuals when I was in the military and don't care for them now, but I do expect them to be professional and cordial because this is where many others and I receive care. No one should have to put up with subpar care from staff members, whether they are veterans or not! The plus side to this facility are the medical care providers. This care has not changed, regardless of how many providers come and go. It's shocking to see how the providers remain professional and caring. The providers and nurses will go out of their way to help in any way they can.
Fantastic experience: Everyone was super nice, a nice new building, the only downfall is to get labs it took three times as long or longer then Nashville.
Fantastic experience: Been with this VA for 3 years now. All I can say is Dr Cardenas saved my life. I had what I thought was minor chest pains but he proceeded to run EKG, then referred me to stress test. Finally did Heart Cath and they found a 99.5% blockage of the LAD (widow maker). If he had not gone above and beyond, I probably wouldn't have been around much longer. Also, never meet a bad person in this place. The staff always helpful and there is one in particular gentleman who works at the front desk who on 3 different occasions that I was there walked the waiting area to make sure we were ok and keep us updated on the status of our appointment.
Fantastic experience: Helpful main desk upon entry provided all needed information. Staff was courteous and efficient.
Positive experience: The front desk staff tend to be pretty rude. Kiosks were implemented, so I guess they feel the need to bark away anyone who steps to the glass, even after being told to by the doctor. Other than that all experiences with the VA have been incredible.
Positive experience: So, let me say this first, Great clinic and it does have it's issues, but hands down one of the best I have been to. I have been in the VA system for four years, I do use BACH/ Eagle Clinic near TENNOVA too. I feel a lot of the negative reviews are uncalled for. If you wonder why people are rude, most of the people who work here are former members of the military themselves...so, just saying. A bunch of grouchy Vets on both sides of the desk I guess. I have not had an issue with any of them. I have called and had to leave messages, but they have always responded, Unlike many of the other Va clinics I have been to in other states. So, I do not know what these others are talking about. There have been times, I have had to wait a month or two for an appointment, but you do have the option to go to other places, there is a system within the VA to do that instead of going here. You just need to dig a little. I did have ONE and only one bad experience with a blood draw, the gentleman didn't disinfect the site where he was going to draw my blood. I asked him if he was going to after he uncapped the needle...he looked like I had just asked him to stab himself. I was a little terse and asked him, did they change how you are suppose to draw blood or what? Anyway, I told the Dr when I saw him, I have not seen that person on my last few visits. All that said, I have gotten decent response for medical care and when I have seen the Dr or a nurse, it has always been a pleasant experience. The facility is fantastic. The fellow Vets that I see go in there, I feel some haven't done their own due diligence to get the care they need.( I do overhear them complaining and the staff trying to explain ). Some want to be spoon fed. My Advice to fellow Vets: Do not sit at home waiting, people do get busy and you are not the only person in the system. Take responsibility for your care is all I am saying. Do some research and actually read the information that is available to you. You have better care than most Americans and it's freaking free to you. These people will work as hard as you do. They are all good and hard working men and women and I appreciate their hard work and efforts. I don't think I could work here and put up with I have seen some of them put up with. Thank you, I do appreciate you all there.
Negative experience: 1. Told me I needed to go to Nashville campus to apply for eligibility. Drive to Nashville, “You are at 90%. Any VA can process your eligibility” 2. Went in at 1545 to authenticate MyhealthEvet account. Clerk looks at bottom corner of computer for time. Tells me volunteer services handle that and I will have to come back when volunteers are available. Not a true statement. After talking to A supervisor, this was excused as “we just hired a lot of new people”. Interpreted as “we have people up front that are new/so lazy, they cannot get off their 4th point of contact to ask a more experienced VA employee for correct answer.” 3. Was told that I would receive a call from either the front desk supervisor or Mr. Andrew Richart, patient advocate, would “give me a call”. Wait...wait...call him myself... Left voicemails...still waiting to hear back.
Negative experience: Change the VA health care call your congressmen and tell them you want change to the VA health care. Don't let the VA hospitals walk over our veterans. Hold these people accountable!!!
Negative experience: I wish I could give this zero stars. First issue I had was getting things for my sleep apnea issue. I turned the last sleep study in, in March, it took them until September to get it even put in the system. Currently I've been dealing with what a couple PA's have said is probably a turn rotator cuff, and an going on a 4+ month long circus with their staff on getting an MRI done. If you have the option to go somewhere else, I would highly suggest it.
Negative experience: So my husband waits 2 months for an appointment. Now they said he needs physical therapy among other things. But he has to wait another 3 months to be able to schedule it?oh and it was nice that the doctor told him, when I go home I want nothing to do with this job and it’s patients. So take Home the medical history you wrote down for me, because I don’t have time to read it. Makes a person feel real great. I thought doctors are supposed to care about their patients. Very disappointing experience. You serve your country. You are 100% disabled. And then??? You get treated like this. Update. 2 1/2 weeks later. Still waiting for medication. Was supposed be sent in the mail. Maybe next year. And the phone number they give you to check on it, all you get is a voicemail about their hours even if you call during their hours. They really care about the veterans. They show it every time you go there. NOT
Fantastic experience: I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews here. I went yesterday to get some X-Rays done, received clear instruction from the front desk, without any negative attention from the staff, quite the opposite actually.. I was in and out in 10-15 minutes. The older gentleman whom volunteered to help direct me to radiology was kind and humorous. The radiologist was amazing as well, nice and quick with her work. This is a great clinic, and a reasonable distance from me over here in Stewart County.
Positive experience: Great customer service.... In person! Don't ever try anything over the phone. You'll never accomplish anything.... Period. Grossly frustrating. Facility is beautiful and brand new. Hours and strictly enforced and everything shuts down at 4pm Sharp.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful people. I've always had courteous and professional service at the VA. The optical shop is great. Very nice people that are always professional.
Fantastic experience: Great facility and care
Fantastic experience: Very good. I don't know why some negatives, go to other hospital and then you see the difference.
Fantastic experience: I have only been to the new location 3 times and each time I have been treated with respect and kindness. The front desk went out of their way to help me correct a medication problem and it was fixed right the first time. The staff at the VA deserve to be treated the same way we expect to be treated.
Positive experience: I have had good and bad experiences in the VA just like any other Vet. This new clinic is nice they are trying, the last I checked was about 5 months ago, to get a glasses prescription filling site on the grounds to save us driving 1+ hours away to be seen by a VA doc. Having that will be of great help. New radiology as well no more driving to Nashville for an x-ray. It is a big improvement over the old facility. From the clean new look to the improvement on tech there is much to be said about the expirences you will have. Just remember it is a VA so there are to be some sore spots. Keep a some what open mind.
Negative experience: Worst va clinic in the system no plan for covering patients when Drs take leave you are left without care and don't expect a call back
Negative experience: Dr. Coleman - wheeler is the definition of how desperate they were to hire a doctor. I doubt they cared that she more like barely made it out of medical school. One day the VA will care about the veterans and our care.
Negative experience: Wheeler-coleman is just along for the pay check, saw her once for an initial consultation. She's asks what's wrong or happened. Right when you open your mouth she cuts you off. She picked through the problems and typed in the ones she felt was good and said that will be it for now. Called her once a month and she always directed it to her rn (who was awesome). Got to the point where the rn would say don't shoot the messenger but...... Bad news blah blah.
Negative experience: It took me 5 years in the military to see a neurosurgeon for my damaged nerves in my body. VA keeps saying the referral is sent, 3 months later nothing. Is all in my records, quick fix...no, let him keep popping this and that pill. Horrible service. Close this clinic, fire everybody. They dont even have manners.
Negative experience: After checking in 15 mins early at the front desk because the kiosks were down. I sat and patiently waited 30 mins to find out the “new” girl didn’t check me in properly and actually marked me as a no show. Then that gets resolved get to the back an hr after arrival and wait another 45 mins and still not seen by my doctor. Oh by this time I was pissed told them to reschedule and that if I need to I could go to Tenova medical center where at least patients aren’t forgotten. Then leaving we have to go out the emergency exits because the va campus police say the main doors are locked. After leaving the doors magically unlock for an elderly couple. The new Va in Clarksville TN is living up to expectations of the Va system. They should of stayed put where they were at at least their I got seen in a timely manner
Negative experience: Tried to call today, spent 40 minutes on hold, waiting on a general customer service person. I got tired of being on hold and drive to the new VA center. When I asked the kady at the front desk who answers he particular number I dialed, she said it was her at the front desk. I showed her my phone, where I had now been on hold for 1 hour and 5 minutes. Her response was that there is an issue with the phone system. If I had not ever driven up there I would never have known. Then I asked him for directions to the dental clinic, they had no clue where was said it was somewhere in this area. Fortunately it was pretty easy to find my own. I asked about the frame shop for eyeglasses. This was supposed to be a new feature of the new clinic. They said not only is this frame shop not open yet, but the administrator and director has no clue as to when it will be open. Same crappy service in a shiny new building.
Negative experience: I have been to numerous VA doctors around the country. This is the one place that infuriates me. The RN and staff for Dr. West are great and I don't want to shoot the messenger. Dr. West has been MIA for months now and there hasn't been a replacement for him. I have had my appointments rescheduled every month since February. I hopefully will have my appointment in September when it is scheduled now. The RN and staff are able to quickly and easily get my referrals out by going through other docs while mine has been missing. I now have just received an EOB from private insurance I don't use claiming I will owe $1800 for medical done in house and requested by them. How did they get insurance information I never gave them? Why are they sending out medical claims to a private insurance when my medical is supposed to be covered 100% by the VA?
Fantastic experience: Well i had trouble with the phone too, was mad as heck because of the heavy traffic in clarksville, you have to leave 30 minutes early in order to make it on time. When i arrived i told them i was pissed but they were very good chilled me right out and helped me. just wish they did not have to go through Nashville to get our Clinic on the phone. I only waited about 15 minutes to get in and see my new Doctor she was great , started right in on my diabetics which is high, she was more then help full and provided excellent service. This new clinic is the best, large waiting areas, TV even a place to charge your cell phone, very clean and everyone is out to help you. Highly recommend, they have a great Center for PTSD I've been seeing MS Strand she is one of the best. She has helped me and my family. she is the best. I was a unbeliever about the program and now have seen the light in it . Just want to say Thank you all.
Fantastic experience: Much improved facility. Parking and waiting areas are so much better.
