Sindecuse Health Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: staff here are friendly and helpful. All but one of the providers I've seen here have been knowledgeable and very easy to work with. Given that I've seen multiple providers over multiple departments, one who wasn't very good is still better than a lot of doctors' offices I've been to. I'm lucky WMU students have access to this level of good healthcare right on campus.
Fantastic experience: I started going here for counseling and psychological services and was blown away at the free resources they have here for students. They have a mind spa with a yoga room, a sensory room, massage chairs, light therapy, and a room where you can just hang out and color on coloring sheets! In the CAPS lobby, they also have interactive robotic cats and dogs you can pet and even take back to your therapy session with you. The receptionist was very kind and empathetic and helped walk me through the triage. My intake therapist was awesome and found the best counselor for me. I also attend group therapy meetings and they are awesome. I was impressed they offer counselors who specialize in DBT and ACT here! That’s awesome. They have lots of different counselors on campus, so they’re very diverse and they were able to schedule me in as soon as next week. I also coke here for my vaccines and whenever I am sick and the general doctors have also been super quick, kind, and caring. I was also easily prescribed anti-depressants and they made it very affordable for me, and I was able to quickly pick them up at the pharmacy they have here.
Positive experience: Seemed very overpriced. For those with insurance, I'm sure it doesn't really matter much, but for those without, going here was significantly more expensive (Almost twice as) than my normal physician, who is simply in a different part of the state, but is much more experienced. I only went once, which when I asked how much it would be to basically talk with someone, they told me that it is normally more expensive on the first visit, but subsequent visits are less. I don't know how much less, but I don't think I really got a good value on my first visit.
