Arbor Hills is a 100-bed skilled nursing facility focusing primarily on post-hospitalization transitional care. Our staff provides 24-hour-a-day nursing care and supervision to our patients. These services include assistance with activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, grooming, transfers, ambulation), feeding or assistance with meals, dietary planning, medication administration, and many specialty treatments. The level of services provided to an individual patient can vary greatly depending on that patient’s needs.
Licensed nursing staff members are on duty 24 hours a day and work with a team of trained nursing assistants in providing nursing services for our patients through our kind, competent, and compassionate care. We are caring for a lifetime: a lifetime of memories, a lifetime of care, a lifetime of love.
Rest and relaxation are an important aspect of your total recovery. Studies show that maintaining a healthy and positive psychosocial well-being helps promote the healing process.
At Arbor Hills, we offer a variety of patient-centered activities for you to choose from. Whether you prefer individual activities in the comfort of your own room or choose to partake in our daily social group activities, our staff is here to help promote your well-being.
While many healthcare institutions hire outside catering companies, we are proud to prepare all our meals independently and internally. Whether you’re enjoying our “Chef’s Special of the Day” or an item off of our “Alternate Menu,” our meals are freshly made.
We bake our own biscuits, rolls, muffins, and cornbread and use local bakeries to supply our fresh bread. Our desserts are prepared from scratch, and our meals are prime cuts roasted in our oven. Fresh soups are always prepared and slow-cooked on our stovetop. Known for our “soup du jour,” we take pride in our quality of food.
We offer an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, and extra servings are always available. We also offer on-demand nourishments for snacks between meals.
Our meal program is nutritionally balanced, and all nutrients and ingredients are approved by dietitians and meet the California State standards of wellness and nutrition. Residents may request additional servings if they desire or try our alternate menu.
At Arbor Hills, residents have the option of tailoring their menus according to personal preference. We feature in-room, outdoor, therapeutic private dining, and family and social dining experiences for our patients.
My mother was transferred to Arbor Hills from Sharp Grossmont Hospital for therapy. I cannot say enough positive about the level of care she received and the assistance I received in managing my mother’s physical and mental well-being. They kept me updated and ALWAYS explained things in terms that I understood. They are compassionate and truly are advocates for their patients and families. Individually and as a team, you could not do better! I even had a caseworker advocate for me with a medical supply company. She was amazing. Arbor Hills Nursing Center would always be my number one choice for care for myself or a loved one.
Arbor Hills Nursing Center: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I love Arbor Hills. Great experience. Knowledge and attentive nurses. I loved my Sharp physician, NP, and case manager, and social workers. If I needed to, I would come return.
Fantastic experience: I have seen a few nursing homes but this one had something the others lacked. A good amount of staff that seemed very well coordinated. Because the flow and smiles of everyone including the elderly just warmed my heart ❤️.
Fantastic experience: My husband has been at Arbor Hills Nursing Center twice in the past four months. The staffs like Jesse, Emry and Nathan are very friendly and helpful towards my husband. I also see the staffs are watching and take of the other patients
Positive experience: The facility itself if old and in need of a facelift. Expect your loved one to share a room, which is typical. The do have daily activities, according to the calendar, however it seemed as if many of them did not actually happen and perhaps the staff was not available to coordinate taking my mother to others, which was disappointing as she was otherwise bored (good sign was that she was healthy enough to be bored!). That said, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The outdoor area was nice, and my mother enjoyed being rolled outdoors to socialize with visitors. Can’t expect much more from a skilled nursing facility I suppose, where funding is minimal. I really appreciate all the care and attention they gave to my mother while in there. The staff has a hard job, and I respect all that they do to ensure the health and safety of the residents!
