Lafayette Rehabilitation Services is a therapist-owned clinic that has served the community since 1992. We are committed to maximizing our patient’s quality of life by providing comprehensive physical rehabilitation, occupational therapy, and related services to help you achieve maximum wellness.
We are committed to treat each patient as an individual. We tailor our care to each person’s unique needs using the latest therapeutic methods and services.
I had the most enjoyable experience at Lafayette Rehabilitation Services. My therapists were so encouraging and Helpful. They were professional as well as relatable. They recognized when I was despondent and would comfort me, offering hope and sincere empathy. They also offered challenges that helped me along the journey with lots of laughter and well wishes! They were great!”
“I didn’t understand what occupational therapy was until a trip to the doctor, in an attempt to remedy my worsening arm pain, landed me with a referral to see Ann McPherson. It sounds cliché, but after just one appointment my nearly constant arm pain was significantly reduced. Ann made me feel at ease and I appreciated how she always explained what she was doing. She was clearly very knowledgeable as she worked to release multiple layers of myofascial tissue and kept digging to figure out what the real root of my symptoms was and to find a solution that would allow me to continue my active lifestyle.”
“The therapists gave me the chance to walk normally once again. They were wonderfully supportive, instructive, and organized. I only hope your rehab can be as awesome as mine was.”
“I had the privilege of receiving therapy at Lafayette Rehabilitation Services for over a year! I think they thought I would never graduate! My recovery from surgery on a torn rotator cuff and bicep rendered me very limited mobility in my right arm but am now able to do almost everything I would like to and could do before surgery. Ann, Marianne, and Katie H. all gave it their best to get me on the road to recovery. One of the best things about going there was the fun I had with each therapist. Everyone was so kind, compassionate, patient, Professional, and helpful. Each one worked in a different way, and that was exactly what I needed. Marianne’s dry needling didn’t hurt a bit- she is an expert. Karen was very cheerful and gracious at the receptionist desk as she accommodated my schedule, often having to change appointment days for me. I now faithfully continue my therapy at home and am almost feeling like Wonder Woman. One terrific benefit I had was learning to have a better posture. They ALL stressed that, and I didn’t even know my posture wouldn’t win any prizes in a competition. I think each and every one of you and would recommend Lafayette Rehabilitation services to anyone!”
“My back was painful, and my balance was way off due to surgery. I have been through 2 months of treatments and my pain is gone and my balance is much improved.”
“I was walking with a cane on November 22, 2021, when I started. I had pain doing everything including getting out of bed, sitting too long, and standing too long, here it is January 7, 2022, and I 100% better with no pain at all anywhere, Katie and Amy rule!!! ???? and Karen too!! ????”
“After having a complete shoulder replacement on my dominant side, I came to Lafayette Rehabilitation Services and started working with Mindy Delph. Through Mindy’s expertise and gentle prodding, my shoulder is better than I thought would ever be possible! I am anxious to see how my golf game is this season. Thanks for all your help, Mindy. Not only did you help heal me, but we also had lots of fun doing it!”
“After surgery my right hand was incredibly weak and suffered some weakness and lack of mobility. The staff, mostly Brittany Royer, worked vigilantly to bring me back to a healthy working status. The professionalism and knowledge was thoroughly impressive. Thank you so much! She has definitely found her calling.”
“I could hardly walk after knee surgery. With the help from John some of the staff, I’m now able to walk up and down stairs really well. I just want to thank everybody at LRS…they have just been wonderful.”
“I enjoyed the uneven floor exercise that I did with Emily today. Two weeks ago I never thought I would be able to do this. My grandchildren love to hike, and this grandma wants to be able to do that with them.”
“I feel as though I’m a new person after this experience here at Lafayette Rehab and I don’t have the same knee as I came in with. Everyone here are so pleasant to be around. I highly recommend LRS because after putting up with some pain, sweat, and naughty words, the result was way worth it, and I would do it all over again. I’m graduating today with my knee fully functioning, my stride is with pride, and my heart is full from getting to know everyone.”
“I was skeptical about physical therapy and if it would help me with the pain. Trish worked with me and made me a believer! I am stronger now than I have been in years before surgery. Great work! I feel great!”
“I have torn both of my ACLs and have come here each time because of the good work they do. Each time they have been able to get me back to full speed without any trouble. I needed to get back to sports soon after my injuries and they have been able to get me to full health so I can participate in sports again. Every time I come in, I am treated as a priority and I can’t thank them enough for that!”
“I have attended the Wellness program for several months. My whole body has changed for the better. I have a better posture and very much more flexibility. I attend twice a week and feel changed both physically and mentally. I am 72 yrs old and I would recommend this to anyone who has been less active in later life.”
“I was having back issues. It was most noticeable after doing even the lightest yard work, or lifting things. Activities I used to do with ease. When it became painful just to go from a sitting to standing position, it was obvious I was going to need some physical therapy. I walked into the very first session in great pain, barely able to stand up straight. After a couple of adjustments/strategies, I was able to stand straight with much less pain. However, this was not a once and done. The therapists were quick in diagnosing the problems, prescribing exercises, and explaining what each exercise would do for me. After six sessions I was feeling better and was back to being active. Am I completely free of pain? For most days, yes. But this is a process. As long as I continue to do the work, (exercise) I can continue to be active. And now, if I have a flare up, I know exactly what to do, to get back into alignment and free of pain. Thanks to LRS. I would highly recommend LRS. Not only are the therapists knowledgeable and caring, the staff are very welcoming as well.”
“Lori is terrific. Before I started therapy, I was a hot mess and had a lot of pain in my left knee. I could only limp with minimal weight bearing. Now I am back to traveling and enjoying walks and being on the beach. I can carry my son’s little rescue dog again!! My favorite thing about therapy was Lori’s enthusiasm and positivity. She is very knowledgeable and talented. I would recommend Lori to any of my friends who need therapy! She is great. I am stronger now than before my injury.”
“When I started, I couldn’t walk without pain. I am back to doing my normal stuff. Everyone was so nice and really got me back to walking without pain. I would definitely recommend LRS to anyone. It helped so quickly, and the tools and guidance were amazing. My only regret is that I wasn’t sent here sooner.”
“I can’t thank the team at LRS enough. Recovering from carpal tunnel surgery was a challenge, but each therapy session helped me tremendously. Brittany and Ann were so encouraging, caring, and honestly my weekly sessions were the highlight of my week. The therapy was so beneficial in speeding the recovery and use of my hands. Brittany and/or Ann were so good at addressing the issues of pain and always had treatments and exercising that helped so much. Their humor and caring will be missed. I highly recommend this team!”
Physical Therapy: Our Physical Therapists help patients with musculoskeletal injuries that affect the neck, back, and/or extremities. They improve mobility, restore function, reduce pain, or prevent further injury. Common diagnoses include sprains, strains, low back pain, neck pain, headaches, post-operative rehab for spinal fusions, joint replacements, ACL construction, rotator cuff repair, dizziness, and balance problems. Specific methods include:
Lymphedema Therapy: Our lymphedema-certified therapists treat swelling that can occur following a surgery involving lymph node removal, radiation, trauma, or infection. Treatment may include manual lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, compression bandaging, exercise, education about skin care, and issuing compression garments. We also offer HIVAMAT therapy which for some patients can offers immediate reduction in pain and swelling, and increase range of motion.
Dry Needling: Our certified dry needling experts use a microfilament needle, similar to an acupuncture needle that is inserted into tight areas of muscle to allow those areas of dysfunction to relax. Dry needling can be used to treat a variety of symptoms caused by musculoskeletal problems, such as neck, back, shoulder, elbow, hip, buttock, and leg pain as well as headaches.
Vestibular Rehabilitation (Balance, Dizziness, and Headaches): Our specially-trained physical therapists can help improve balance, reduce risk of falls, reduce dizziness, and minimize the effects of headaches that may occur after surgery, car accidents, or other injuries.
Occupational Therapy: Our occupational therapists help patients develop, recover, or maintain activities of daily living and work skills. They provide specialized services including ASTYM and kinesio taping, and specialize in the rehabilitation and post-surgical care of upper extremity injuries and dysfunction.
Hand Therapy: Our Hand Therapists are experts in fitting and custom fabrication of a variety of splints and custom orthotics. They will recommend adaptive equipment and techniques to increase independence and minimize injury.
Work Rehabilitation: Our work rehabilitation program helps our patients return to work through real or simulated work activities. Participants are educated in body mechanics, pacing, safety, and injury prevention. Specific methods include:
Wellness Programming: Past patients and community members are invited to participate in our wellness program to continue to improve overall fitness and reach personal wellness goals. Participants can use the gym equipment and pool. Our clinical assistant is available to help guide participants through appropriate exercise, if desired.
What to Expect: Your therapist will evaluate your injury or condition, develop a personalized treatment plan, and often give you exercises to aid in your recovery.
Self-Referral: For most insurance plans in the state of Indiana, you can refer yourself for physical and occupational therapy without a physician prescription. Contact us for more details and get back to the things you love sooner.
Treatment Plan: The length and frequency of your treatment plan is determined by a combination of your specific injury or condition, YOUR goals, the physician’s prescription/recommendations, your therapist’s recommendation, your progress and your insurance plan.
Regularly Scheduled Appointments: Usually, you will have a few therapy appointments each week. While these appointments may present a temporary inconvenience, the regularity is critical to your long-term progress. As you progress, new levels of treatments and exercises will be introduced to help you reach specific treatment goals.
If you need directions to the clinic you will be seen at, click on the Maps/Bios (Unity or West Lafayette) folder. This will also acquaint you with your therapist ahead of time.

Lafayette Rehabilitation Services - West Lafayette: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Excellent patient services, thorough communication, and support of getting me back into the gym! Friendly office staff too!
Fantastic experience: My name is Peggy Fields and I'm so appreciative of the care and instruction I received at Lafayette Rehabilitation. Under Mary Ann's care I learned how to manage my back and hip pain. During the last month I've utilized her techniques to relieve pain after standing, walking and moving around after long hours on the job. I would highly recommend her and her staff for physical therapy needs. I'm working to get my husband an appointment with Mary Ann to help him with his back pain. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: I have worked with Amy for nearly three months now to rehab my shoulder and the progress I have made thru working with her has been amazing. I was out of baseball half of last year because of it, but this year I've been able to pitch all season! Not only has her work been amazing, but no matter who’s at the front desk, I'm always welcomed as I walk in and the environment is unbeatably friendly. 10/10 recommend.
Fantastic experience: My experience at Lafayette Rehabilitation Services was the best! The facilities were clean and the staff very professional. That can't be said by a competitor I used several years ago. I had treatment for lower back pain and was taught that I had a few misconceptions about what was good for my back! I'll continue exercising at home knowing that I can always go back for consultation if my pain returns. Thanks to the staff who made my therapy not just bearable, but something I looked forward to.
Fantastic experience: I may be a tad biased because I work there! ???? I have had the privilege of being treated by coworkers and I would not go anywhere else! I had insane back pain and with a few therapy sessions my pain was cut in half and with continued home program compliance I can now say I am completely pain free! ???? I am a CHT (in other words an upper extremity specialist) and love to treat anything from the shoulder to the tip of your finger! I may be one of the few people you meet that are excited to see you if you have shoulder pain! Don't suffer too long before you ask your doctor if you can see me or one of my coworkers!
