A Landmark critical care hospital is the preferred referral hospital for patients needing acute medical care following a hospital discharge.

Our mission is to develop top quality critical care hospitals equipped with innovative technologies and staffed with personnel who excel in their fields, in order to provide our patients with the best medical care available as they journey toward healing.

Welcome to Landmark Hospitals, where we are leading healthcare in a new direction. Through our growing system of critical care hospitals, we provide solutions for patients who require extended acute hospitalization. Our patients may present medically complex cases that require a multi-disciplinary approach to their extended stay. The majority of our patients require an intensive level of care for a longer period than the average hospital offers. Typically, upon completion of our intensive care program, our patients transfer to a lower level of care, such as a Rehabilitation Hospital, or a sub-acute care facility, such as a skilled nursing facility, or home.

Landmark Hospitals are leading healthcare in a new direction through our advanced medical technology and innovative hospital management. The care of our patients is our primary concern. Our mission is to provide you with the best medical care available as you journey toward healing.

When our mom needed to recuperate from a heart attack earlier this Spring, one of our choices was Landmark Hospital. While at Landmark she received a lo of extra care, patience, and love from the nurses, techs, and staff. They really cared about her and that meant a lot during her healing and recovery process. After 3 weeks, she was discharged. So many of the nurses and staff went out of their way to wish her well and to even grab a hug or two. That’s the kind of tender care she received while at Landmark Hospital. Thank you so much!

The doctors, nurses and staff take time to get to know you and have kept me on the road to healing. My experience here at Landmark has been very positive and rewarding.

We live in the Fort Myers area, but I chose to come to Landmark because I had heard such good things about it. I would recommend this hospital to anyone who needs care!

From the minute I checked in, the staff was remarkable. The nurses were kind, compassionate and treated me and my wife with respect, kindness and friendliness.

My family would like to say thank you to the staff at Landmark Hospital. I cannot say enough good things about how great this hospital was to my mother.

We bring exciting new technologies and experienced management to bear on our primary task: providing our patients with exceptional critical care as they continue on their journey toward healing.

Fantastic experience: I recently was interviewed and hired at Landmark. David, the chief nurse, was warm and welcoming to me. The hospital is well staffed, and the nurses give excellent care. The facility is super clean.

Fantastic experience: Lafonda is a very good worker. You all should be blessed to have such a worker working in your facility. My concerns and my sister concerns talk to her about it and she took care of it. She was easy to talk to very helpful on all aspects she was with my sister the most while she was here, she always had a smile on her face no matter what the issue is she took care of it. We have the most respect for her and we know her job is hard, but it didn’t seem to bother her no matter how many people she had to take care of she did a good job at it . So as far My sister and I we were both Melba Croney and I Karen Harlan are very happy with what she provided for us J.JJ IS ANOTHER WORKER HERE HE ALWAYS HAS A SMILE ON HIS FACE. HE’S VERY UPBEAT AND I CAN SEE HIM MAKING ANYBODY’S DAY HERE. I DON’T CARE WHAT YOUR PROBLEMS ARE. YOU PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE. HE’S VERY ENERGETIC AND I CAN SEE HIM AND THE UPMOST RESPECT FOR HIM HE TOOK CARE OF MY SISTER TODAY THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME WE’VE HAD HIM, HE HE IS AN AMAZING MAN, AND I CAN TELL BY THE WAY HE HAS. HE LIVES HIS LIFE AS A POSITIVE PERSON SO WHOEVER HE MEETS IN HIS LIFE MAY BE THROUGH HIS JOB OR THROUGH AWAY FROM HERE I BELIEVE THAT HE WOULD BE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON ANYONE. THANK YOU, JJ FOR US MEETING YOU AND IT WAS A PLEASURE. I HAVE NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT YOU AS WELL. JUST KEEP ON SMILING KEEP ON BEING A POSITIVE PERSON IN THIS NEGATIVE WORLD KEEP BEING YOU

Negative experience: Really nice young lady come out to talk to my family to ease our mind about our loved ones stay. We were already hesitant because of the reviews!!! After we talked to her we thought we were at ease because we saw that she truly cared about our family and that she loved working for Landmark Hospital. We heard shouting and screaming from the nurses desk we saw a brown haired nurse chewing her out something about the schedule and short staffed I think. Screaming at her poor girl looked like she wanted to burst out into tears. It was really sad and uncomfortable to even watch. Just don’t respect a place that would do such a thing the lady was just very disrespectful and rude. Unprofessional to say the least. There was a tall guy that came out later and a bunch of staff talking about it right at the nurses station hopefully they will get it all sorted out. The cna smelled like weed just to much going on our tech said her name was Bonny. Beware of these reviews do not learn the hard way like we had to…….

Negative experience: Stay out of this place if you want to heal. Clueless Doctors, horrible food, and terrible sanitary issues. Spent a week and a half here. I am a type 2 diabetic who takes insulin daily and the food was so bad I had to be put on IV 's to keep my blood sugar up. Haven't had an insulin shot for 5 days and blood sugar still running low.i broke down and ordered food delivered but before I could eat it the box was taken over by ants in my hospital room. The only reason they got the second star was because of the techs and nurses who tried to be friendly and helpful. I would love to see the results of a health inspection here. The good reviews you see are fake or clueless.

Fantastic experience: My husband was here for about a month after leaving university for a stroke. We was both treated like family, everyone was nice and very responsive to my husbands needs. He was very well taken care of and I couldn’t have asked for better. I would recommend this place to anyone. I would give them 10 stars if it was an option. We will always remember our landmark family ❤️

Positive experience: I've been here for a few days and I am supposed to be here for a couple weeks The main issue was food. I am diabetic and all the food that I've been given is fried. I don't have access to salads or fresh fruit. I can have food brought to me but there are no means of cold storage. I have never heard of such a facility there is no option for food for a diabetic.

Negative experience: If you have a non ambulatory loved one, I would not recommend this place. My loved one had tons of problems with response time and communication. A couple examples …. The person would answer the call button quickly and say “I will let your nurse know.” Most of the time it would take 45 minutes to 1 hour before someone came in (except when the complaint was chest pain). Appointments that University Hospital made before discharge were cancelled by Landmark with no explanation. One day I asked 3 different people to change loved one’s sheets because they had feces and blood, and they were never changed while I was there (3-4 hours). My loved one said having dirty sheets all day was normal during stay. PT was rarely in and patient was confined to bed most of stay at Landmark. Patient had little improvement made except due to time passing by. A medicine the patient was allergic to was given twice. When concerns were made to charge nurses one said, you are free to find a different facility.” Another said, “my daytime nurses wouldn’t do that but I will check” (Never heard back). A couple positives is loved one said the food was good and Dr. W. was good at listening and explaining. The janitorial staff was friendly and took time to engage with patient and family. (Lastly, it seems several employees have left favorable reviews. I am curious to know if they had a loved one receiving care there.)

Fantastic experience: Staff is very friendly and hard working. Care is wonderful and always responds within good time. Staff and administration are always trying to find ways to involve their patients into activities and contests done throughout the year. Not to mention they provide fun and delicious meals for the holidays and special events that are also available for family and visitors! :)

Fantastic experience: Landmark Hospitals of Columbia never stops serving the Midwest in the level of care it provides. Always trying to find new ideas for how they can better serve patients as well as better the care that’s provided. The Physicians at Landmark are passionate about helping patients continue quality of life. I trust the physicians and the staff with my own family. Landmark has an amazing wound care team as well as Pulmonary program. LTACHS were created to help very complex patients that are not able to recover fast enough at the primary hospitals or sometimes an LTACH is the patients last hope at overcoming their illness. The recovery time is long and can be very hard. The thousands of amazing recoveries I have personally witnessed at Landmark is why I do what I do every single day. If there is ever any doubt please do not hesitate to come meet our staff in person. Be forward about your concerns. Landmark is always looking to improve and set the bar even higher.

Negative experience: In 2021, my loved one was in ICU at Boone Hospital, which was a total joke, and we tried tirelessly to get an admission to the Landmark Hospital for inpatient acute medical care. When someone finally answered the phone at Landmark I was told I would receive a call from the Marketing Liaison. Never received a call so I called again and left numerous voicemail messages. I finally talked with an individual who advised me the Marketing Liaison was out for the remainder of the week. I was one again given the run around. One of the doctors on staff at Landmark is also on staff at Boone Hospital. So that shows you the poor level of skills and competency. We never received a consultation. My loved one died 2 days later.

Negative experience: Good response from social worker. Less than enthusiastic response from nurses. My family member reports the same, that she does not get great response. She is refusing food because it's so poor. Very concerned.

Negative experience: They document that they are turning patients but my loved one has only been turned 7 times in 4 months. The food is horrible. My loved one didn't eat because they told him to do it himself but he is paralyzed. He had 3 collapsed lungs while there. When you speak to someone about it they deny everything. CEO is horrible and does not care about the patients. He was supposed to be there 30 days and go to rehab then home. He has been there months due to bed sores. Horrible facility and nurses that don't work there call it "Landfill".

Fantastic experience: My husband was transferred to Landmark Hospital for post-acute care. He stayed for 16 days and we had a great experience! We interacted with doctors, nurses, nurse techs, managers, cleaning people, social workers, PT's, OT's, RT's and kitchen staff and they all worked hard to make his stay as smooth as possible. We noticed this small facility often had a "family feel" amongst the staff - and when the employees are happy, you feel better about the quality of care! Of course, some were quicker to respond, some more cheerful, and some more diligent, but that is to be expected. We would have preferred to not need extra care, but this facility made it easier than we'd hoped.

Positive experience: There's no way to reach the front desk with out waiting 20 to 40. The number listed on their website is unreachable.

Corinna Martinez 3 years ago

Negative experience: No one answers the phone.....ever....its so frustrating. And the staff is rude and lazy. This will definitely be reported to State Rep. Ben Cook.

Negative experience: Our son was to go there 3 years ago for rehab to be able to return home. He had been in ICU for 2 months. He was all set to get moved. Paper work done it was okayed, then son got word he didn't have enough insurance. His Medicare wasn't enough. Two days later he died, he just gave up, tired fought so hard to get well enough to come home, We could have had another year or so if he could have gotten strong enough to sit up and walk.

Fantastic experience: Landmark has a new leadership team that is making great changes. The staff is much happier and gets along really well. It’s the cleanest it’s been in years and the patients all comment on how well they are being treated. I really like working there, they have a good team.

Fantastic experience: This place did good with my rehab from 8-08-21 to 9-15-21. Never in my wildest dream thought I would be in the hospital for 3 months between 2 hospitals... I would recommend them...

Negative experience: This place needs to fire all employees and hire a new crew. The employees are rude, non-caring. Someone l know and love was admitted here after 4p.m. and she hadn't even been offered as much as a cracker for over 13 hours. The staff had to find and seek a wheel chair and blanket. And the blanket was as thin as a sheet.

Fantastic experience: Helping him to learn to speak again, I'm at a loss of what to do,he thinks it's a bad place

Positive experience: So there are some wonderful nurses here, but some need an attitude adjustment. Ice should be readily available for patients so They don't feel intimidated to ask nurses for a cup of ice. It's really frustrating for the patient, when asking for a cup of ice, in return they get sighs or eye rolls. They're there for healing and to be cared for. Not for attitude!

Fantastic experience: Everyone had given up on her, but she continued telling me that she would keep fighting and that God would take her when he was ready for her. We moved her to Landmark Critical Care Hospital in Columbia and they didn't give up on her. Between her will to live and their great care, she is still with us today. Each day is a gift. We sure are blessed. Thank you Landmark of Columbia!

Fantastic experience: My grandpa recently moved from mercy hospital in Springfield to landmark. They have done so much with him already and it’s only been two weeks. They got him talking, moving around and back to loving his life. My grandpa was at select hospital in Springfield but he got so bad there because the staff neglected their patients, that he had to be moved to mercy, he almost died. He fought really hard and stayed alive and after he got better they wanted to put him back at select but we refused. So they sent him to Columbia and he absolutely loves it their. When he FaceTimes me he tells me that he loves talking to his doctor Johnny Morris and he loves chatting with the staff. They take him to they gym everyday and work with him and he likes doing that. This hospital is all around 100% great and they treat their patients good I highly recommend it.

Negative experience: During mom's stay, the nurses and doctors were wonderful. However, at the time of discharge, it was another story. We were given a pile of paperwork with no discussion. No discussion on meds and 2 were injections, which we've had no training in. I fought with prescriptions for a day just to find out 3 of them were discontinued after given the list of meds plus the scripts at the time of discharge. Felt like after the discharge papers were wrote, we weren't there problem anymore and they couldn't wait to get us out of the door. The Social Worker did stay after hours until we had the training for the TPN, which was supposed to be at 11 that morning but didn't happen until 6 that evening, then I had to pick up prescriptions and drive 2.5 hours home. I feel that the discharge procedure pertaining to medications needs to be discussed with the patient thoroughly and not given 5 pages of meds and told to go to the pharmacy (which have the meds weren't in stock). There was also no discussion on maintaining the pic line or j-tube and what to watch for if a problem should arise. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone to be honest.

Fantastic experience: I was a resident here for 6 weeks, after I had 3 strokes and 3 open heart surgeries. The staff was absolutely amazing. Never a full moment. I want to go back and visit, just to thank them all for everything they did for me and helped me achieve.
