Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I deleted a previous review based on an overnight stay. I'm now going on three nights on the second floor after being admitted through ER and I must say ALL staff I've encountered are amazing! They've gone out of their way to take care of me and have shown genuine care. As humans we make mistakes and I do apologize for my first review and thank you.
Thank you for the glowing review! You can always count on our wonderful team for quality care. We wish you all the best! Response from Piedmont Healthcare on behalf of Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside
Negative experience: This was the worst experience ever! I do not recommend going to be seen at this ER. I went in because my blood pressure has been high along with another symptom. My blood pressure was never properly addressed, after sitting in the waiting room for who knows howbinwaa finally brought to the back. the Dr. Was rude and paid no attention to the details I was giving him. All he did was order a cat scan when I got my results he simplified what he seen on the cat scan and left the oom, informing me that I was being discharged. I wasn't about to wait 2 mores hours for instructions. I removed my IV myself and left!!!! I'll cally Dr. In the morning. Oh and on top of everything the hospital is disgusting, there was blood on the sink that wasn't mine the bathroom was nasty AND GUESS WHAT?? WHILE WE ARE SICK,NOT FEELING WELL , WAITING FOR HOURS TO SEE THE DR. THE NURSES ARE ENJOYING THEMSELVES SITTING ATTHE NURSES STATION WITH there ear buds in NOT DOING A DANG THING, EXCEPT HEE HEE A D HA HA'IN ABOUT THE PATIENTS ITS REALLY SICKENING TO ME TO SEE THAT PEOPLE HAVE NO COMPASSION ANYMORE!! ON ANOTHER NOTE MRS.SHIRLEY THE NURSE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. SHE OS DEFINITELY A BREATH OF FREAH AIR ON THAT PLACE.
This is genuinely disappointing to hear. We make it a priority to provide efficient, quality care to our patients, and would like to learn more about this experience. Please email [email protected] with your name, contact info and details of your experience, so we may follow up. Response from Piedmont Healthcare on behalf of Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside
Negative experience: Upon checking in I was told my insurance was no longer accepted and I had to reach out to my HR. I did that and they assured me I was in network. So I went back to the lady up front who was short and curt and told me I’ll have to call my HR. Later to find out it wasn’t my insurance it was Humana she did apologize but the damage was done I had already reached out to HR. The wait was ridiculous I waited from 9:45am to 1:30am to be put in a room. Dr came in fast he was extremely nice and listened to my concern. He listened to every single thing & was aware I couldn’t go back to my Dr until Monday to be seen. I want to give the Dr 10 stars but the visit was horrible. Black Dr with a thick accent. I can tell he cares about his patients. I know my dr will probably have to do more test s d blood work but at least u can rule out something

Negative experience: Signed in, did the triage and have been waiting for over 5 hours with nothing. They were not busy at all. If you have an "emergency" best go elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: If you’re wondering which ER to go to, this is the one. The staff and doctors were great. I went in thinking I had a stomach ulcer and it ended up being appendicitis. I was in surgery within a few hours of checking in. I’m currently in the recovery room and every nurse has been helpful and kind. I’m sure everyone’s experience varies, but I have to say this place was wonderful for me.
Thank you for your kind words! We appreciate this review, and are glad to know our staff provided high quality, professional care. Response from Piedmont Healthcare on behalf of Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside
Negative experience: I was sent here by my eye doctor for a serious condition concerning my eyes and head pressure. The night before i was supposed to get an MRI. I sat in the hospital from 1230pm to 8 pm that night. I was told by the doctor she would schedule me for the MRI the following day at 1. I got to check in and they could not find the appointment. I will go to lagrange or atlanta for care. this is ridiculous. no one seems to know what is going on.
We are committed to our patients and communities, and always strive to provide great care for our patients. Fantastic experience: went to the ER for a cat scratch on my eyelid and they were phenomenal. specifically Courtney Young. i have really bad anxiety around hospitals and the medical field in general and normally it’s just dismissed bc i’m 23, but Courtney took me and my anxiety seriously. i had to get 6 stitches in my eyelid and she was so so good about getting me something for my anxiety, and about explaining the entire process to me. she explained step by step what she was gonna do and why, and kept chit chatting while she worked to keep me distracted and did just an overall great job. i couldn’t have asked for a better staff member to stitch me up, she was great!!!!
You can always count on us! We take pride in providing personalized and compassionate care to our patients, and we are thrilled to have made your experience as comfortable as possible. We look forward to continuing to provide exceptional care in the future. Response from Piedmont Healthcare on behalf of Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside
Negative experience: Here currently with my husband12/5/24, had to drive 2 hours to get here at 7:30 in the morning, his appointment time was for 8 and were told to come early for registration. Been sitting in the waiting room for 3 hours for his surgery and just keep being told they are waiting on a room… absolutely HORRIBLE! What’s the point of them making an appointment for so early and can’t even get a damn room… UPDATE: after calling the doctors office and about to say screw the surgery, they called him back for prep then had to wait another hour and a half. Once surgery was done he got stuck sitting in recovery for 4 hours. They kept saying there was no bed available. Then they switched shifts and when I called at 7:30PM they told me there were rooms and that the day shift just left him there and waited for their shift and I should take it up with a supervisor. This whole process was a complete and utter clown show.

Fantastic experience: I have been to this ER a couple of times this year and the staff is always very kind. I was in lots of pain and they quickly jumped in and handled my issue. An operating room nurse, Lisa, called me the next day to check in on me. I truly appreciate their concern and kindness.

Negative experience: ER, I received a pain relief prescription from a PA that apparently is outsourced, and now I'm receiving messages asking for an additional amount (1200), 2 more different billers just for a pain relief pill. My wrong decision.
We’re sorry to hear about your billing concerns and service issues. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can speak with you personally. We look forward to hearing from you. Response from Piedmont Healthcare on behalf of Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside
Fantastic experience: I wouldn’t go to any other emergency room in the city of Columbus

Fantastic experience: I have used this hospital twice and been very pleased with the quality of service I received both visits. The first time I came by EMS for heart problems and was admitted for four days. I found the care, attention, facility ,and treatment to be better than expected. ( rather than the many times I have spent in ER rooms in Columbus, , Atlanta , Decatur, Fl., Pa. and other clinics.) The kindness of all the staff is superior to any I have had before. Kindness and compassion goes a long way in the healing process. I never found them to be too busy to show both.

We look forward to continuing to provide exceptional care in the future. Response from Piedmont Healthcare on behalf of Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside
Positive experience: Love Piedmont North—- it’s just that parking needs to be addressed. There is not enough parking. Certainly not enough handicap parking. Valet parking would help.

Negative experience: Was in the ER ON 10/26/24. It started out great, it really did! The nurses were terrific, Dr Ebhohimen was such a nice guy! Then, the shift changed. I finally got the CT, waited 2 1/2 hours for results ( not bad ). A nurse comes in and says, ok you’re ready to go home. My wife and myself say, we haven’t even seen the dr for the results. She looks at confused, leaves the room. She come back in and says, the dr said you’re fine. I have her look at and actually feel my very swollen abdomen and she immediately knows something is wrong!! The Dr wouldn’t come to even talk to me!!! What a pathetic joke, I don’t his name, because I NEVER SAW HIM!!!! What a disgrace!!! Thanks for absolutely NOTHING!!!!

Fantastic experience: My mother got transported to the ER early morning at work, while the rest of our family was working . Liam Carbone took care of my mother; and did a fantastic job on being professional, respectful, and supportive to our family under a time of stress . If Liam is your nurse know your in good hands .
We're glad to hear that your mother was able to receive the excellent care she'd been needing. Thank you for your kind review. Response from Piedmont Healthcare on behalf of Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside
Negative experience: I will never go to this ER again. After being triaged immediately when I got there and being charged $100.00. I sat in the waiting area for over 4 hours with no care. Then when I stated I was leaving to the receptionist she was rude and asked if it was because of the wait and I would not be refunded the $100.00 because I was triaged already. I really don’t recommend anyone come here for care. Seems like they are quick to get the money from patients but care not so much.
Thank you for letting us know; we take this kind of feedback very seriously and would like to look into this matter further. We always strive to provide quality care and expertise for our patients. Please reach out to [email protected] so we can look into your concerns. Response from Piedmont Healthcare on behalf of Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside
Fantastic experience: I showed up the ER last night for intense ear pain radiating down to my jaw around 10:30-ish and was seen by 12 (which is fast considering the average wait times for ER rooms). I was treated very kindly by the staff and nurses who were assigned to me. They were also very warm and attentive to my needs. The head nurse in charge of my case or doctor (I think his name was Anthony?) was amazing and extremely knowledgeable on the next steps I needed to take. I am very grateful for that and his patience with me. The only unsatisfactory part of this review is the number I had to call for registration. I had to call several different times for an answer as it sounded like the phone was hanging up. Once the lady got on the phone, she seemed as if she had a slight attitude towards me. It was pretty late, so I imagine that she may have been tired. Overall, I would definitely come back here. Thank you Piedmont for your excellent service!
We apologize for the inconvenience. Our goal is to provide exceptional care to all our patients, and we regret that the service did not meet expectations. Fantastic experience: Staff was very professional and explained to the patients and their families that they would bring patients back to rooms as quickly as possible based on the severity of the reason for the visit. The screenshot of the review below is highly exaggerated for a few reason. 1. Coming by ambulance does NOT guarantee you a room. They will still triage you and send you to the waiting room if you don't have certain symptoms warranting immediate medical attention. 2. This guy's friend came in around 5:30pm considering I had been there since roughly 4:45pm. They were told several times they had no rooms available yet(even if they discharged several patients simultaneously those rooms have to be cleaned) 3. Dehydration is a low priority unless the person experiencing it passes out or shows symptoms of heat exhaustion/stroke. 4. Triage is based on the order in which patients arrived to the ER. Not who throws the biggest tantrum for their friend. 5. If this guy really did rotations in an ER, he would've known all of this.

Negative experience: Brought a highly decorated Iraq war veteran in with a broken back severely dehydrated who hasn't eaten or had any fluids for 2 days. Waited 45 minutes to be triaged and they marked this patient as a low priority instead of a high priority like it should have been. Had to call the charge nurse of the entire hospital because the emergency room refused to give me the charge nurse name in the emergency room or even have her come out and talk to me. 4 hours later still have not seen a doctor or had any treatment. There is no sense of urgency here. A patient in an emergency room should be seen by a doctor in less than 1 hr. Using this criteria every patient would be dead in this emergency room. ifyou want to get waited on in this hospital come by ambulance cuz that's the only way they're going to see you otherwise you'll be waiting for hours or days. I have been to the 4-year BSN nursing program and did rotations in all the hospitals and this is by far the worst. Piedmont is actually worse than Medical Center was.I will take patients and myself to St.francis hospital next time. Next time I'll bring my attorney with me to make sure they wait on me. I will communicate my complete disappointment and shock with a medical board after this visit.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, which we have escalated internally for thorough review. Communication and compassion are crucial to the level of treatment we strive to provide to each patient, and we will be looking into this further. Negative experience: Why do Piedmont ER have an 74 year old lady sitting in the waiting room who is very sick. Then when her family goes up to ask about the wait the sheriff tells them to sit down and wait.

Negative experience: The receptionist had very nasty attitude and was actually Gospel talking about another patient when we walked up very unprofessional and also when we got to the back, they had a student to take my son blood Which was nervous or something he couldn’t find a vein to draw blood which has never been a problem in the past for my son the Student nurse Life the band on his arm after drawing blood my son had too take it off his self and Put the Band-Aid on himself as well they did not make us feel welcome at all

Negative experience: When you have a patient who tells you that they have a serious disease and getting sick could kill that patient and the patient tells you that they are really sick the importance of care should be stepped up not set them out in a packed lobby to get everyone else sick and left out there and forgotten about the NP who had absolutely no eympathy what so ever looks at the patient with I don’t care about you attitude then when the RN who was asked if there was a difference between the home thermometer vs the hospital she said no well she got a little upset when she ran the temperature again to come to find out man miraculously the temperature went up almost 2 degrees in Less than two minutes from the first time she took it.. I am embarrassed and ashamed that the er I trusted to care for me and keep me alive just decided my life was not worth saving… I will never go back to this place it is a joke they had only one patient in the back and a lobby that was half full of their family….
Meeting our patients needs in an efficient, timely manner is one of our core values, so we take this kind of feedback very seriously. Negative experience: My experience at the Northside ER a few days ago was disappointing. The staff was not too bad, but Dr Hegngi would do well to consider empathy and urgency. Waited in room for 3 1/2 hours, 1 1/2 hours after all test results were finalized waiting to be discharged. The workload in the ER was not busy at that time. So how hard is it to properly bandage the arm where an IV line was inserted (but never used) so that the patient doesn't bleed all over their shirt by the time they get home. You have to earn respect.

Negative experience: Was having a hypertensive crisis at work and decided to utilize the Northside ER for treatment. The triage person kept addressing me as sweetie and when I told her to use my first name she yelled my name and asked another question. After that then I get a medic that was in my opinion not professional at all. The doctor came in briefly to take a manual blood pressure but never saw him again either. The computer system went down during my visit so after medication and a decrease in blood pressure I decided it was best to go home and monitor myself. I will follow up with management and higher if necessary. Thank God I’m medically inclined and know what to do and expect but what about people that don’t know? So sad the level of care has come to such as this.

Negative experience: People are coming in to the ER in pain and there is no urgency surrounding serious medical emergencies. Staff is at the desk laughing loudly, not showing any empathy for people that are coming in in pain needing to be checked in. It’s really sad to sit and watch someone suffer and to feel as if the staff whose hands they are literally in doesn’t care one bit. Sad thing is it’s like this at St. Francis and the other Piedmont. I watched a girl screaming in pain to be put out in a wheel chair and sat to the side. My child sat next to me in excruciating pain for hours upon hours. Thankfully the security officer has a heart and was willing to accommodate minor request like for an ice pack. It’s truly painful to watch others suffer through no fault of their own and it’s gut wrenching to know the one place that we absolutely depend on sucks as bad as it does.

Positive experience: I always go to Piedmont North. Today I went in and I felt so humiliated and degraded when I got to the second desk to sign in. The woman that took my information was really brief and when I turn to go take a seat, she started laughing and the other girl was just snickering and laughing making jokes directed towards me. The staff in the back was great and very professional and treated me great but those two at the desk in the waiting area ruined my experience and I'll never return.

Negative experience: They kept my mom npo for a ridiculous amount of time without ever doing any procedure starving her, as an already anorexic patient. They also ignored her complaints of pain and put it in her chart as mental, until she requested more scans and they finally found the 8 ball size hematoma she had. If they hadnt transferred her to atlanta she would have died, and then died again.

Positive experience: Came here yesterday Nice and clean nurses very nice but they did not break down the test results and wasn’t very informational when I asked questions. Also no medicine was prescribed to me for nausea even though I’m super dehydrated and cannot keep anything by down for more than 1-2 hours which I informed them of, I just feel as though more could’ve definitely been done as well as when a lady came in screaming in pain I heard a nurse say (she’s so dramatic) but are you not in an ER? I just found that to be so insensitive. But other than that I had surgery here a couple months ago and dr white was amazing!

Fantastic experience: I had an outpatient surgery at this location and was thoroughly impressed by the entire process. I absolutely loved my patient registration rep (really wish I could remember her name, last name Davis I believe), check in process was so easy, each room was full but there was no chaos and ran as a well oiled machine. Everyone was very friendly. Daryl took my vitals and was such a joyful person to encounter that early in the morning, especially when you're nervous. Everything was explained multiple times and more importantly, everything they said would happen did. I was treated with respect and dignity which is so important when you are in such a vulnerable position. I have extreme PTSD from prior surgeries but this experience was vastly different. I highly recommend this location for outpatient surgery if given the opportunity.
Thank you so much for sharing! You can count on Piedmont to provide seamless, compassionate care to our patients. Our doctors are the best in the business, and we're happy to see they left a lasting impression. We appreciate your recommendation and wish you the best!
Fantastic experience: May God bless the whole staff for saving my life twice in the same weekend from cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome and helped me stop my addiction to delta products and weed all together ❤️ thank you guys so much!
Thank you, we appreciate this wonderful review! The team at Piedmont makes it a priority to provide our patients with the kind of care we’d want to receive ourselves---and are happy to hear that it led to a delightful, hassle-free experience for you!
Negative experience: Been sitting in the waiting room of the ER for 6 hours now. Watched the waiting room clear out 2 times and we are still here waiting to be called back. Y'all need to do better.
We’re sorry to hear about this experience. Patient care is our top priority, and we regret that your visit did not meet your expectations. Please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can address your concerns and follow up with you directly.
Fantastic experience: The staff was awesome > everyone that I came in contact with was smiling and energetic. My case manager was so positive and welcoming. Vicky Bell was a awesome tech and she took great care of me. Professional staff from check in, triage, security, and medical staff. Dr. Mize, Dr. Rana, Dr. Diaz, .
Thank you, we're happy to hear that! At Piedmont, our goal is to provide high quality, professional care for the whole family Dr. Mize, Dr. Rana, Dr. Diaz, so it's wonderful to hear that everyone delivered with flying colors!
Negative experience: Why 1 star? You're being warned Go here only if you can afford the $10,000 doctor bill and fees all from 4 different billers. The bills will keep coming! Even after they tell you there's nothing they can do for you and also I feel the staff are inexperienced, they really didn't have a clue or the equipment they needed to do their jobs which wasn't their fault. However the exaggerated fees are outrageous!
We’re sorry to hear about your billing concerns and service issues. Please contact us at [email protected] so we can speak with you personally. We look forward to hearing from you.
Negative experience: Absolutely horrible service. We were only seen once in 2 hours and it was to ask why we were there. The woman that talked to us in that room had an absolutely nasty attitude. She told us that she would clean a room for us to be put in and that never happened. We were waiting for almost 3 hours and no one even spoke to us. I would not go back again.
We’re sorry to hear about this experience. Patient care is our top priority, and we regret that your visit did not meet your expectations. Please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can address your concerns and work towards providing a better experience for our patients. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Negative experience: This was by far the worst hospital I have ever been to. Not once was I asked my pain level, I was left in a waiting room until tests were performed and then less than 2 mins with a nurse practitioner... then was handed and read the results of my visit in a hallway within listening range of every other patient. By far one of the most unprofessional hospitals I have ever been to. How they are in business boggles me.

Fantastic experience: Im at Piedmont Hospital Northside now in Room 324 and the whole Hospital is so Excellent in Every Department. If they had 10 star ⭐ Reviews they all deserve it . God Bless Them for helping me ✝️❤.They are highly Recommended.
Thank you so much for sharing! You can count on our team to follow through on the Piedmont Promise: providing seamless, compassionate care to our patients. Our doctors are the best in the business, and we're happy to see they left a lasting impression. We appreciate your recommendation and wish you the best!
Fantastic experience: Had to bring my son here last night, we had RN Shirley Kisor and she was absolutely AMAZING! We truly appreciate her taking the time to speak with our son and make him comfortable with the test he needed, and she was the only one to successfully get the testing done after others tried and weren’t successful. They truly don’t make them like her anymore!
Thank you for your kind words! We appreciate this review, and are glad to know our staff exemplified the Piedmont Promise to treat patients and their loved ones the way they'd want to be treated.
Negative experience: Piedmont Hospitals' visitor policy is an archaic, antiquated approach that directly contradicts the wealth of scientific research demonstrating the benefits of visitation on patient recovery. By restricting visitation to a mere two visitors per 24 hours, Piedmont Hospitals is not only denying patients the emotional support they need but is also willfully ignoring the overwhelming evidence that links visitation to improved mental and physical well-being. Multiple studies, including those conducted by the American Psychological Association and the Journal of Hospital Medicine, have consistently shown that increased visitation leads to reduced stress levels, shorter hospital stays, and better overall recovery outcomes. Yet, Piedmont Hospitals persists in enforcing a policy that not only ignores these findings but also places an unnecessary burden on patients and their loved ones. This policy is not only irresponsible but also highly damaging to the reputation of Piedmont Hospitals. By prioritizing bureaucratic restrictions over the well-being of their patients, they are sending a clear message that they value their own rules over the health and happiness of the individuals in their care. It's time for Piedmont Hospitals to reevaluate their visitor policy and bring it in line with the overwhelming evidence supporting the benefits of visitation. Until then, they will continue to be a prime example of an institution that places red tape over the welfare of its patients.

Negative experience: This place is horrible, was sent here from Urgent Care and have been waiting 3 1/2 hours for blood results, ready to head somewhere else.

Negative experience: They used to be a good hospital years ago, I don’t know what happened . Came in by ambulance, from injuries involved in a hit n run, in Atlanta ga. Which left my leg broken in four places. Came here to see if I had blood clots in my broken leg . I had Severe pain, swelling, redness, and Charlie horses that wouldn’t go away. I’m not able to walk yet. I use a wheelchair & walker for now until rehabilitation. I was in a cold room, nothing was hooked up. And they didn’t have warm blankets, so I was handed 2 cold sheets. Was there no more than 2hrs, I guess b/c the ambulance arrived there at 5am. But they took a Xray & handed me my discharge papers. By then my mom arrived to get me . They did not get me a wheelchair or even have a person to assist getting me off the bed, to be able to take me to the pick up area . So my mom had to ask for a wheelchair for me . Due to me not being able to walk yet . She also was the one to push & take me to the pick up area . Then she had to leave me in front & come back with the car. Try Piedmont midtown or St Fransis . This location is no good anymore. Unprofessional service, & I myself, work in a hospital in the operating room. I would never treat my patients like they did me . IF I COULD, I WOULD LEAVE A ZERO RATING!!!

Fantastic experience: I had outpatient surgery 4/10. I wanted to complement the o.r. staff. I had a breathing tube in my airway and was unconscious from anesthesia. They lifted me from the stretcher and turned me face down for my surgery then put me back on the stretcher after my procedure without me receiving a scratch. This took quite a bit of skill. They have been doing this a long time. This was well orchestrated. Yall are awesome.

Negative experience: I’m not one to normally do this but the “doctor” at Piedmont Columbus Regional - Northside last night 4/17/24 is garbage! I went in there with chest pains, my lungs feeling like they are on fire, feeling light headed, shortness of breath, and a painful spot on my spine. I got there at 5:30, wasn’t put in a room until 10:30, which is understandable because it’s a small hospital and a good bit of people were there. When the “doctor” finally came in to talk to me, we talked about my previous blood clot and me having May Thurners but I had surgery to help that. He said they would run a blood test to check for clots, I informed him blood work had been done. He said “oh yeah! And your bloodwork came back fine. So you’re fine! Your legs look great and they fixed your may thurners so you’re good to go. Don’t really have to worry about a clot anymore” so I said to him…….. “what about my lungs feeling like icy hot has been rubbed on them??” He listened to them and said “your fine nothing to worry about. Probably your acid reflux. Anything else???” I said “yes! My blood pressure on that screen (134/110)?” *which was the 2nd time that night it had read a little high. The first time was 154/97* He said “oh those machines are about 20 off. You don’t need to worry about that here” Meanwhile I was having headaches and a slightly weird heartbeat. At that point I just wanted to go. I wasted 6 hours for a doctor to just rush me out the door. Never did an X-ray or scan of any type. Didn’t even address my spinal pain. I normally LOVE that hospital because the staff there is very nice and keep you in high spirits but Eric Tauscher is TERRIBLE.

Fantastic experience: This hospital is just what you expect for any urgent care. The staff ,nurses, and doctors are like angels. I visited Dr. Hengee and OMG, VERY knowledgeable, patient, and caring! Very reccomended! !!
Thank you for your kind review! Our team knows that meeting our patients' emotional needs is as important as meeting their physical needs.
Negative experience: The doctors were useless. We waited hours and hours to be seen then when we were they gave us no information. The only person that was so helpful and nice he made me laugh and I really appreciate that Anthony Santa per.
Fantastic experience: My mom was brought here because she couldn't breathe. We found out she had stage 4 lung cancer. She was in ICU and I don't remember the nurse's name but she was very kind to me. She told me she knew my mom was loved because she could see it. She also told me that she thought she was a pretty awesome mom from what she could tell. I broke down crying outside her room and the same nurse just hugged me. I truly appreciate her and would like to say thank you. My mom passed away in the ICU about a week later. Thank you to all the nurses who took care of her.
No matter the circumstance, every person who walks into a Piedmont Healthcare facility should be cared for in a genuine, respectful and heartfelt way. Thank you so much for the review!

Fantastic experience: Visited Northside ER and had one of the best experiences ever under my circumstances. The staff was very thorough and kind. This is what medical staff the world over should be like. I did not see anyone during my visit that acted as if they hated their jobs! Kudos to the entire ER and staff at Northside. I appreciated your services.

Fantastic experience: Piedmont North was fantastic this past weekend with my emergency surgery. Dr Taylor and the rest the team was top notch! Would use again if needed.
Wonderful to hear that Dr. Taylor provided a great experience! At Piedmont, our doctors go above and beyond in their care, and it's always a delight to see another happy patient.
Negative experience: Had a procedure scheduled for 10 AM an hour and thirty two minutes later and I am still here and I'm still waiting. This is unprofessional and ridiculous.
This is genuinely disappointing to hear. We make it a priority to provide efficient, quality care to our patients, and would like to learn more about this experience to ensure we improve where needed. Please email [email protected], so we may follow up.
Negative experience: My sister has been fighting multiple infections from a hip replacement and when they put the spacer in it has now dislocated TWICE in just a few days. This is her 9th surgery. Not confident in this facility at all

Negative experience: The nurses are nice. Facility is clean. Relative came for a Endoscope. It was alot of rushing just to wait. Phoebe americus is absolutely awful. But even there we didn't have a wait like this. The wait is ridiculous... We have waited near bout 3 hours for a 15 minute procedure. We were at phoebe for this same exact procedure and was only there maybe a hour. Highly disappointed.

Negative experience: This just ridiculous. Was having internal breathing issues can’t see my primary care physician nor obgyn until Tuesday. I went to urgent care who couldn’t do xray because I’m pregnant and couldn’t take labs referred me to er to check for blood on lungs. I got to the er. 644pm and they took blood, urine, ekg & blood pressure which was slightly elevated now it’s 10:40 pm still haven’t been called to the back I’m extremely thirsty and hungry due to pregnancy worst er experience in the world. Pulled to the back at 1103pm to a freezing cold room no blanket nothing. Hooked up to a bpm machine and still not dr almost 12am. Unbelievable

Positive experience: With little or no line. I was seen right away in the ER and the doctor saw me right away. Great service eighthey were quick to my medical needs and best E R i'd ever been in. It was very quick. That was unexpected. Keep up the good work.

Positive experience: I’ve been several times for myself and/or family members. Each time I have had a pretty good experience. The parking can be a little tight at times.
We're glad to hear you had an overall good experience with our team. We're always improving, and look forward to earning that last star the next time you need our services. All the best!
Negative experience: Doctors do nothing more than just try to get you out the door. Also, double check your scan results because apparently their doctors can't read them either.

Negative experience: 1000 dollars for a back xray that took literally 2 minutes to complete. They definitely overcharge. Will not be returning.

Positive experience: We have been here 2 times for last month. First time we were waiting for 3 hours and the second 2 hours. Stuff we're friendly. But it was very cold there. Don’t forget to take a jacket.

Negative experience: I came to this hospital with a broken ankle. They put me in the waiting room just to have me sit there for 4hours and finally moved me to another waiting room to sit and wait again. No pain meds not plan NOTHING. This hospital is a sadly story. I will never go there again.

Negative experience: My daughters surgeon left a surgical instrument inside her. She suffered excruciating pain and p.t.s.d. From the incident. The hospital did not follow up with her and offered no apologies for what happened.

Negative experience: Everything went well up until a nurse came in giving me some sort of medicine (in which I don't remember the name of exactly.) My mother ( a nurse herself) had concerns as to why the medicine was being pushed into the IV tube instead of me just taking it as a pill. Apparently, the medicine that was pushed in through the tube did, in fact, cause me to throw up. As my mother said, it would. The next day, a nurse came in marching in the room. Crouching down to my mother ( sitting on a chair in the room) and apologizing to her and her only. Mind you, she is yelling and talking very slowly as she is speaking to my mother. When she finished, she stood up, turned around, and marched out the door. She didn't look or acknowledge me once. I have never been in the hospital myself before. Which would make this my first time. But I say this to say that if you do go to the hospital. Please have someone with you who is at your side at all times (if possible). You never know what could happen!

Negative experience: Usually I've always been happy about the care here. But we have been here for over 4 hours!!!!! I expect poor service at the midtown location, but they are usually quicker here. Hopefully we can see someone at point (hopefully before I have work tomorrow) Next time we'll just wait for urgent to open.

Negative experience: ER Daytime staff on 6/16 was superb. Night nurse PA was on a power trip and extremely rude . She doesn't need to be around people. Maybe lock her in a back room until her shift ends if she hates people that much

Negative experience: The check in lady in the ER, Cynthia, was homophobic to my spouse and laughed when she asked why I was saying they in reference to my spouse, as they are non-binary, and said oh no it's she/her and laughed. We are here with my mom who has advanced dementia and the last thing we needed was to be treated like this!!!

Negative experience: Took my 6 yr old here bc she has been running a fever of 103- 105 for 3 days. COVID, FLU, and Strep came back negative at an Urgent Care before going here. Absolutely no attempt to do anything to attempt to find out what is wrong. No type of test ran other than to check for an UTI, didn’t even end up checking for an UTI bc my daughter couldn’t go to the bathroom. Discharged us instead. No blood work, no test, nothing but it’s probably a virus nothing we can do. Nothing done to rule out that it isn’t anything other than a virus. Treated me as if I was lying about her temperatures bc they didn’t see the same that I do bc I’m giving her medication to keep it down. I will never return back here for care. Worse Pt. Care I’ve ever encountered.

Negative experience: The nurse and therapist were treated me down right inhuman.I dropped my glasses . I asked the nurse for help because the tech could not get behind the bed . She didn’t look behind the bed that’s were they was the nurse got and attitude and refused to come back .I sat there for and hour to get my glasses and call my ride . Then therapist came in and told me that she give my ride who was three hours away until three and she would call me a cab . I sat there another hour because I was sitting on my cover cold. The tech came back and apologized for there lack of treating me like a human.A tech help me get dress and the the first tech was putting my in a wheelchair .I notice she didn’t put my feet up so I asked is this is what she does she said no , The nurse who must own the hospital told her to and she felt bad for me . I gave her an A for her effort . Those other two put me in danger and never came back to walk me .see that’s is why hospitals get sued. I just wanted to see her try to put me in a cab they were very hateful women’s So think about what happened to me could happen to your if they don’t hold them accountable.I was ready to hit record I was waiting for her to touch me.I call lawyer first police second . That tech needs an reward.

Negative experience: I was in the ER on Friday from 1ish -6pm. They put me in this bloody chair to get blood work done. My female doctor was very rude and had an attitude nonstop. I normally love this location but I guess she didn’t feel like coming to work that day .

Negative experience: I went to Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside emergency department last night after being instructed to go there by an urgent care due to severe lower right quadrant abdominal pain and the possibility of appendicitis. I arrived needing a wheelchair due to being curled up in a ball from the pain. The pain was so bad that they administered fentanyl to me. After appendicitis was ruled out via imaging, I was discharged with no further testing to find the cause of the pain. Despite the pain being so bad that I needed fentanyl in the hospital and I was curled up in the fetal position in tears, my discharge instructions were to go home and take ibuprofen. When my partner and I asked the nurse to get the physician so we could talk to him more and clarify why no further testing is being done, he would not come talk to us. Why was no ultrasound done to investigate a possible cyst rupture? My bloodwork indicated I was severely dehydrated and my urine sample contained blood; why was there no secondary screening for a kidney stone? How was ibuprofen going to help if the pain is so bad I am in the emergency room? No one would answer these questions for us. While I am glad I do not have appendicitis, I am thoroughly disappointed in my experience in the Piedmont Columbus Northside emergency department. Discharging a writhing and crying patient without pain medication and without investigating to find the cause of the symptoms is unacceptable and, frankly, unethical. I will not be using this emergency department again, and I will be telling my friends and family to do the same.

Negative experience: My husband was seen in the ER on July 29, 2023, for abdominal pain. He was referred to the ER by a weekend walk-in clinic in our town, as appendicitis needed to be ruled out with a CT scan. We spent several hours at the ER and left with a diagnosis of a minor problem and a couple of prescriptions. We have since received over $1300 in bills (AFTER insurance), $1209 of which we have paid. A new bill arrived today. My husband's abdominal pain did not go away, so he followed up with his GP on a weekday about a month later; his GP referred him to a general surgeon. The surgeon immediately diagnosed a hernia, and had access to the CT scan that was done in the emergency room, so he went to look at it out of curiosity; he said he could see the hernia in the scan. So far, we have been billed over $1300 BEYOND what our insurance (BCBS) paid. For that exorbitant amount, my husband got an incorrect diagnosis, spent an extra month in pain unnecessarily, and is facing surgery, which should have been well behind him by now.

Negative experience: A very poorly run hospital / emergency room. I highly recommend you go elsewhere for good/ fast service. Zero and I mean Zero communication goes on once you are here. 7.5 hours to see the Doctor for 5 minutes, 3 minutes blood drawn and then nothing/ crickets. I went to ask the nurse after 6 hours in if we could just go home and they could call us with the results and then she told me a ultrasound technician was ordered from Piedmont . Will not be coming back here if at all possible. We were sent here for a ultrasound and they not even have a ultrasound technician on staff. They had to order the technician from midtown. Christine the ultrasound technician from midtown Piedmont was incredible and I would give her a 10 out of five stars and the only reason of updating this review to add stars for Northside Piedmont. The 5 minutes we got to see the doctor. He was very good also so I would give him a five out of five. The rest of the group needs a lot of work in the area of communication with patients.
This is disappointing to hear. We've earned our reputation by treating patients and their loved ones the way we'd want to be treated. We'd appreciate a chance to get this taken care of. Please reach out to us at: piedmont.org/contactus.
Fantastic experience: I have been sick since mid April and got to the point by the end of May that I couldn't even hold down fluids. From the end of May until last weekend I lost 20lbs from vomiting. I went to a different hospital twice and was given fluids and sent home with nausea pills that I couldn't keep down. By the time I came to Northside, I couldn't stand or walk without assistance without falling from weakness and dizziness. They immediately admitted me and started running tests. I don't want to get into my diagnosis on here but they literally saved my life when the other hospital dismissed my symptoms and sent me home. Northside actually got to the bottom of the problem. Their staff was so helpful and kind! They were so attentive! They literally saved my life and I can't sing their praises enough! This is my hospital of choice from now on! Thank you for everything you did! It means the world to me and my family!

Negative experience: Took my husband there due to high fever. We arrived at 2:30 left there at 8. We waited over an hour for a notice for work. We left!! There was one nurse in triage that was very rude and wouldn't assist anyone. She put someone that was there in pain hurt her even more and didn't apologize. She was rude to my husband for asking a question. Wouldn't tell anyone to go there.

Negative experience: This hospital is awful, only two nurses on entire nursing staff Dustin and Trent on the late shift. These gentlemen were amazing, thank you. However the rest were rude, and uninformed and had tendency to put off on the other staff members prolonging assisting the patient. The physician made contact immediately after surgery and patient was admitted for 5 days, surgeon made no other appearances.Thats a first from my experiences in life.

Fantastic experience: Very impressed with how I was treated by every single staff member during my stay. So many little things that everyone does automatically made me think there is a checklist they train/teach their nurses and techs to do, things that demonstrate politeness and kindness. I was thinking of comparing it to when I’ve been in a great restaurant and the server was constantly coming back asking if there was “anything else I can get you”?…and everyone was like this. I felt like I was getting top notch, quality medical care. I loved that they told me about the app that they posted all the notes any medical person wrote about me. I was able to go back and ask questions if there was something I didn’t understand and Nurse Tonya was very thorough and patient answering and explaining! All the nurses and techs that I had experience with in the 200 wing were SO impressive. This was an excellent experience with hospital quality and if I ever have an issue and need an Emergency Room to go to, this will be my choice. When using the ER, the wait time was so much better than my experiences in other ERs.
No matter the circumstance, every person who walks into a Piedmont Healthcare facility should be cared for in a genuine, respectful and heartfelt way. Thank you so much for the review
Negative experience: If I could give them zero stars I would. This is the most pathetic, horrible, and nasty hospital to ever exist. I've never been more disgusted in my life. The staff is truly unprofessional, rude ,unpleasant, and hateful. The labor and delivery staff is by far the worst. Not helpful at all, neglectful to its patients, no compassion, and you simply can tell they don't like their job all the nurses have nasty attitudes. The hospital rooms are nasty as hell stains all in the floor more stains and on the bed sheets. I'm extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with the care I received. Will not be returning and wouldn't have even recommend this hospital to a sick dog.

Negative experience: My daughter saw a Dr. in ATL who gave her medication she had never taken before which started causing issues that concerned her. She called their office and they advised her to go to the ER. We arrived about 6:30 pm and there were quite a few people there. She was in pain and we were worried something serious was wrong. We were told people were being taken back based on the seriousness of their condition. We sat there until 12am while others were being treated and released - even people arriving after us. We asked a couple of times how much longer and were always given the same statement - We don't know, they're working on people based on severity. I finally had enough after so many people coming and going and asked AGAIN what it would take to get her seen. I did raise my voice as we were exhausted and worried. The Orange woman with blonde hair at the desk called the charge nurse accusing me of screaming at her and not listening to her. The charge nurse came out and gave us the same spill the orange woman did. They had absolutely NO Empathy, they were callous and rude to us for being upset at how long we had been there. When we were finally called back - they told us they couldn't do the test the ATL Dr. said she should have done and told her they would give her a shot of pain meds. So we basically sat there over 5 hours for them to do absolutely nothing for her.

Negative experience: ER nurses can be as rude as they want to be. But if you clap back their feelings get hurt and have you removed. Talking to grown people in pain like you are a waist of their time. I saw them stick my husband and dig 8 times including his thumb. All while he is in a lot of pain. He tells them he is about ready for them to stop and a nurse who hasn’t been there starts talking down to him. I tell her that she just came off extremely rude then she goes on and on explaining her rudeness while still being rude.

Negative experience: Arrived at the hospital emergency room on June 14 around 6:00 am. with my wife who was experiencing chest pains. A gentleman entered the reception area ahead of us walked up and man sitting behind the desk grudgingly put his phone down and instructed the gentleman what to do. I then walked up and told him wife wife was in the car with chest pains. His response was, does she need a wheelchair? I responded with yes and then pointed over to the wheelchairs and told me to just grab one. Brought my wife back in and he is again playing on his phone. After a couple of moments, I literally had to tell him to get off his phone and tell us what to do! Unbelievable that the hospital has the first person that a patient sees is someone that acts like they are being inconvenienced sitting at the entrance of the emergency room. Got to do better than that.
Every person who walks into a Piedmont Healthcare facility should be cared for in a genuine, respectful and heartfelt way. We're sorry to hear about this experience. Your feedback means everything to us. Please reach out to [email protected].
Fantastic experience: I had a hysterectomy here. The entire staff was friendly, compassionate, and on top of the things. Incredible bedside manner. They were all so patient. I don’t want anymore surgeries, but if I do this is where I want to go. From registration to the nurses to iv nurses to the anesthesiologist to the best doctor ever (Dr. Dempsey), just truly a wonderful experience.
Wonderful to hear that Dr. Dempsey provided a great experience! At Piedmont, our doctors go above and beyond in their care, and it's always a delight to see another happy patient.

Fantastic experience: I had surgery on 2/3/16. I could not have ask for better care. From going thru pre-op until I was discharged on the 4th, the staff was very attentive and caring. God bless all of them, Annette
Fantastic experience: Having grown accustomed to the long wait times and hit or miss staff interactions at the Medical Center/Piedmont Midtown, my expectations were low. Piedmont North is everything you want in a hospital. My sister-in-law compared it to a hospital in a Lifetime Movie. We were taken back immediately and seen within minutes. You are given a piece of paper with instructions to register via phone once you are settled in your room. Registration was a 2 minute phone call. In less than an hour from when we walked in the door an EKG and Ultrasound had been conducted in the room and he had seen a doctor. He was in surgery 3 hours from the time we got there and was home in 3 more. I have sat in the waiting room at the old medical center for longer than our entire visit today. But what truly made it an exceptional experience, every staff member we interacted with was professional, smiling and making sure you were smiling too. They provide 5 star care from the time you walk in until they wheel you out!

Fantastic experience: My daughter was admitted from the ER, she was in acute renal failure. This team of caregivers, heroes who don’t wear capes, every single one of them has been fabulous. From the reception people at the desk, the dietary staff, the custodial staff, the techs, the phlebotomists, the LPNs, the RNs, the docs and everyone in between- there has been 100% kindness, compassion, friendliness, knowledge and support. I live in the North, my daughter happened to be in this area when she became ill, we are fortunate that the people at Piedmont North are here. I am grateful to each one of them.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time here, and the whole experience from start to finish was just impressive. The amazing group of people in the emergency room department were soooo friendly and made an ER visit more bearable. My nurse Nathon was extremely tentative and went above and beyond for my care. The NP Yolanda was incredibly personable and treated me as a friend instead of a stranger. The radiology department was amazing too! Chris, Jonathan, Leslie, Craig, and Nick were so kind and made a contrast procedure quick and painless! I couldn’t speak more highly of this hospital!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff in the inpatient rehabilitation center. The dietician gives you choices for your meals and all are really good. Highly suggest this facility. Agnes Treadwell
