Harrison Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I went there for a Halloween party because my momma works there, really enjoyed talking to the elderly I really thought the place was gonna stink n be scary but it was not, I feel like the residents were well taken care of and happy enjoying the party the facility put on.
Fantastic experience: I have spent a lot of time here and love the CNAs and nurses! It is clear that they care about the people they care for. They haven't been perfect but were willing and quick about addressing any concerns.
Positive experience: The good things about this facility was their physical therapy staff, office staff—Rachel, some of the nurses —and a couple of the CNA’s (Nancy). But I felt the facility was not clean and well taken care of (although the maintenance man was great. He took care of a heating problem in my room quickly and efficiently. He was great!) When the cleaning person would come in to clean-it was basically sweeping up any big trash that was easily visible. It took her less than 1 minute. There was never any sanitizing of bed tables or others areas—or mopping the floor. The lack of cleanliness in my room was a concern-but cleanliness and sanitation are a big deal to me. One night -a CNA came in to empty my catheter bladder. She did not but on gloves or wash her hands after—and then she picked up my water container to refill it. This was unsettling. I know they are probably short staffed—and there are many unpleasant tasks. It often took a long time for CNA’s to respond to call button—but I assumed they were responding to others with worse problems than mine. Nancy-one of the CNA’s was great! Prompt, caring, compassionate and gave you the feeling that she really cared. Another CNA was also very good-but I can’t remember her name (a little older, longer hair-pulled back in a bun or pony tail type style.). She was the night shift and was also very good. So—there is good and bad. The colors in the room are dark—somewhat depressing and dingy. I was so anxious to go home! The office staff seemed efficient and thorough and very nice. Therapists really helped me (Michael, Julie, Lindsay). This was my first time in a rehabilitation center—and it was hard. My first 3 days I shared a room with a woman dealing with some big issues and in a lot of pain. I didn’t sleep much at all those days—but I felt so bad for her. She waited over an hour for someone to come in to change her diaper. She really suffered (Wendy).
Positive experience: Pt was great and friendly The care my Mom received was ok The food was good there was some very nice residents there. The nurses aids was nice . I feel my mom was not showered enough she was there 19 days and only got one shower one of the residents had to get someone to give my mom a shower asap I would ask and was told she had a shower but when I Saw my mom she hadn’t had a shower. Overall it was good
