Fantastic experience: I have worked with a couple different pain management clinics and other providers and no one has worked as hard as Doctor Norma Bowers has for me. He was honestly the first Doctor to actually listen to what I was going through and worked to help me get better, he treated me like a human being. Not just another patient paying his Bill's. He treats everyone he talks to with respect. I have nothing but respect for him and his staff and would recommend him to anyone struggling with pain. It's nice to be a normal human being again.

Fantastic experience: I've only been going here for about 3 months but I am so impressed!! They are understanding and the entire staff is so nice. Rob Harkness is an amazing guy. He has always treated me with respect and never belittle me or made me feel stupid or like I shouldn't be in pain. Dr. Ockey and Dr. Dana are amazing physicians and they really understand chronic pain more than the other clinic I went to years back called Nexus. They treat you like a real person here. Definitely would recommend if you have any type of pain. I have a super rare condition and they even understand it and have always been so nice and knowledgeable.

Positive experience: **Update** I have continued to see Adam at UVPM. The office staff has been great, there haven't been anymore billing concerns, and things have gone smoothly. I can honestly say I would recommend them to a friend now. At first, I had a hard time getting used to the level of scrutiny and incredulity with which they treat most of their patients. I definitely felt I was treated like someone just convicted of a drug offense. However, after 2.5 years, I feel I’ve built a pretty good relationship with my PA Adam, and would recommend him. Because of him, I've continued to commute to Orem, despite living about an hour away. However, 6 of my last 8 appointments have been disappointing to me. They’ve messed something up, and it seems every time I try to give them another chance, something else happens that makes me irritated again. It seems they mess up more than they get right. Over the last 2.5 years, I have had a lot of problems with their billing. It seems every month is another issue. They have lost multiple payments of mine, tried to increase my co-pay, tried to charge for no-show appointments that they mention 10 months later (this has happened twice at least) and after you pay anything, it seems you have to remind them of it next time you go in. ALWAYS get your receipt, and I’d recommend keeping them in your car to show them. It’s not just their billing though, there are issues in other aspects too. There have been missed appointments, rude receptionists, lost requests for procedures, and other things. This week I went in for my monthly visit and there was debate as to what pain med they’d prescribe me. After deciding they wanted to confer with another doctor first, I was told they’d call in the prescription when they decided, so I left the office. When they called, they told me that they couldn’t actually call in a prescription to a pharmacy like most doctors, so I would need to come pick it up. When I told them I live in Salt Lake, and work in Davis County till late most days, they offered to mail it for only $7. It isn't the incident this week that has made them lose my business, it’s the combination of everything from the last 2.5 years, and especially all the headache from the last 6 months. I’d recommend people go to other pain clinics though or continue to see their specialist.

Positive experience: I've been going to UVPM for 4 months, so I'm just starting to get to know them. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic back pain. I do feel very scrutinized regarding legitimate medication use, but I also understand that they have to cover their bases legally. The medical professionals I've worked with there are nice but do seem to think their office knows all and that other doctors you might have seen don't have the expertise or knowledge to help you. The reception staff, excluding one very nice woman who I wish was the only one I ever had to deal with, is a joke. I've been quoted different co-pay costs several times, and it once took 2 weeks to get a message to my doctor and a refill printed off. Two weeks, and it wasn't even a new prescription, just a problem with insurance that required them to call my pharmacy. Such a nightmare. I also don't appreciate having to wait so long to see my doctor at each appointment, as I've had to do a few times. I definitely feel that sense of being judged when it comes to medications, and I kind of wish they could walk in my shoes for just one day. Sure, they're experts in pain, but if you haven't actually experienced it, you can't truly understand. All things considered, I'd give the office as a whole 3/5 stars.

Fantastic experience: The people at the physical therapy office are awesome! Dani and Jeanne are very helpful and friendly. Roger has been so great in helping me with my pain and getting me back to health. I am so grateful for this center and their goals to help their patients. I love their complete approach. They include you in the process. I love that I am able to give feedback. I love that psychology, physical therapy, and doctors are involved. This is seriously a great clinic to go to!
