On April 1, 2014, South City Physical Therapy began operations, taking over the practice of Coastside Physical Therapy after the unfortunate death of our friend and colleague, Richard Johns.

At South City Physical Therapy, we prioritize the needs of our patients. Our treatments are designed to help them achieve their desired goals, from being able to climb a staircase to running a marathon. We use manual therapy techniques and exercise to provide the most current care, and we only use modalities when necessary. However, we often use kinesiotape to promote healing.

Positive experience: This place has extremely warm & friendly staff- the PT man & Kathy that does the exercises! Also, the front desk girl. Even though she looks very busy & stressed 3 x I've been there. They definitely need 2 people running the front desk!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic team - highly recommend! Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare and painful bilateral ankle condition. It took me months to find an orthopedic surgeon who could take on my case, and I was worried that it would be similarly challenging to find a physical therapist who could support my unusual situation. The South City Physical Therapy team (Nimoli, Vidhi, Larry, Aide, Christian, Tiffany) put those worries to rest, and have since supported me through a difficult recovery, including four separate rounds of PT. I am especially grateful to my primary physical therapist, Nimoli Malhotra, for her kindness, expertise, professionalism and incredible attention to detail. She worked closely with my surgeon's office to understand the details of my surgery and special recovery considerations, and carefully crafted recovery plans that have enabled multiple successful recoveries!

Fantastic experience: We LOVE this place! My daughter had an ankle injury one year and a knee injury the next. For a basketball player in high school, she needed great PT and this place gave it to her. From the amazing therapist to the oh so pleasant receptionist, Aide. She always made sure she accommodated us as much as possible since my work schedule was not flexible. Aide is super sweet and so kind. She is the first face we see going in which helps us know that my kids gonna be in good hands. And she’s the last face we see leaving. She totally rocks!

Negative experience: Extremely poor phone attitude - don't use them. Got my head bit off asking if they do outpatient PT.

Fantastic experience: I had to take my grandpa to physical therapy after his knee replacement and let me tell you this is by far the best place he could have gone to. Let’s start with the initial call to the facility the staff was so helpful and courteous. I appreciate their COVID-19 precautions and screening making sure that everyone is safe while being treated. They also request hand washing which I think is great. The therapist treating my grandpa was so patient and thorough, overall great experience. I know where I’ll go if I ever need therapy or know anyone who does! Thank you South City Pt!!

Fantastic experience: This physical therapy clinic is beyond great. Does outpatient physical therapy only. All three therapists are great and helped me with my 2 injuries (shoulder and back). The front desk and physical therapy aides are great as well! Helped me get me back to work with their exercises and also allowed me to try things I haven’t done before. Highly recommend this place! Just remember they do OUTPATIENT therapy only.

Negative experience: I do not recommend this place at all. I went there after knee injury with 2 ligaments & broken bone. 2 therapists worked on me, 1 was new there & put lot of rock tapes around my knee. My skin broke out in 2 days & had lot of blisters:(( then i switched to be seen by Larry-the owner thinking he is senior & will help my case. He was not helpful at all, i tried for 2 weeks, twice a week, he barely spent 5mins on me, put tapes & left me to assistants. He is always busy in admin computer work or will be on phone calls in between. Also, once while i was given bad shock by stim machine apparantly they were using broken machine, which would get power off & on, it was so bad that I screamed & threw my leg in the air & back. Overall a really bad experience, i spent time & money & got nothing in return. Will not recommend this place to anyone. Now I am at a much better therapy place & thankfully a very good one.

Fantastic experience: I went to South City Physical Therapy after having surgery on my knee. To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to PT but went because I had to. After one visit my attitude changed completely. Larry was kind and understanding and really helped me to understand what was going on with not only my knee but also with other issues I was having. I am usually very skeptical of anything outside of the box, but with Larry's expertise I felt an immediate improvement. He put together a regiment for me and because of his efforts my recovery went smoothly. I was extremely happy with his care mostly because he views the body as a machine, and understands the how all of the various systems work together. Larry also used kinesiology tape on me and it made a world of difference in my ability to get moving again. The staff is wonderful too. I worked with Christi and Sir, and they knew when to push me harder and when to back off. Everybody there is on the same page when it comes to the exercises, and there is a mix between tried and true methods as well as new techniques. Every time I went there I felt that the staff cared about my recovery and they knew me by name. Very good bedside manner from all involved. Setting up the appointments with Aide was easy and she is very professional and caring as well. There is plenty of parking (even some free parking) close to the center, and it is very easy to get in and out of there. You can't do better that South City Physical Therapy.
