Stance Physical Therapy & Running Clinic is a private orthopedic clinic dedicated to providing care for musculoskeletal problems and individualized treatment for each patient. We don't just treat athletes and runners; we treat all orthopedic injuries!
The experts at Stance are knowledgeable in the workings of the lower legs, feet, and ankles, evaluating running and walking, creating custom orthotics, and taking care of runners.
At Stance, we believe that the best way to heal and prevent injury is to combine fitness, wellness and good nutrition. To achieve this, we have an in-house dietician and personal training services to meet the needs of the whole person.

Molly Kash has been a passionate runner since she was five, when her mother signed her up for the Oakwood Track Team. After a successful high school running career, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and a mathematics specialization from the University of Dayton. For the past 25 years, Molly has been a commercial interior designer and a coach for elementary school sports such as soccer, volleyball, basketball, track and field, and cross country. Her motivation to start running marathons came after the birth of her fourth child, Rudy, who was born with a birth defect and treated at Shriner's Hospital in Cincinnati. When the hospital held a fundraiser in conjunction with the Chicago Marathon, Molly decided to participate and raised $15,000 for the hospital. After running in Chicago, she qualified for the Boston Marathon and has since run in many marathons, including Boston, New York, Columbus, and Air Force. Recently, Molly has taken her running to the trails and has begun competing in ultra marathons.
Molly has had a lifelong interest in health and fitness which was further strengthened when she was injured in May 2019 and began physical therapy with Dr. Jessica Smith. This experience made Molly realize the importance of strength training and motivated her to get certified as a personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is passionate about helping others build their strength to reach their fitness goals and feel better. Despite her injury, Molly has still been able to compete and beat her personal records due to her strength training. She is currently training for her fourth Boston Marathon. Molly lives in Oakwood with her husband Jeff and four children (Becker, Charlie, Addie, and Rudy) as well as a variety of animals such as dogs, birds, rats, chipmunks, and rabbits.
Services and Treatments
Stance Physical Therapy: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I was a little over month out from my first marathon and started getting a new pain, making even low mile runs tough. Dr. Ethan was able to pinpoint the problem, give exercises, and dry needling. After a couple visits everything felt great, and ended up completing my race way stronger than planned. Awesome place, cannot recommend Stance enough.
Fantastic experience: Jess and Ethan are fantastic people and really know how to help athletes and non-athletes alike. I am a runner who has been having knee pain for a while and they helped work with me to strengthen and stretch the right areas as well as release muscle tension with a little dry needling (so painful but so helpful!). I was able to do 2 half marathons, 2 17 mile races and a marathon this spring thanks to them. Without them I would have been sidelined in pain!
Fantastic experience: Ethan is the best! He helped my husband and I with our feet/hip issues and we are so thankful for his help and support.
Fantastic experience: Went in with a bulged disk and sciatica and could barely walk. Over the subsequent weeks Ethan got me to a much lower pain state and back to normal function. Having someone help fix this without surgery is a relief. Jess runs a fantastic practice!
Fantastic experience: I previously saw Dr. Jess at a different office. When she opened this office and I needed help, obviously, I followed her. She talks you through everything and explains so thoroughly. She was unavailable when I booked my appointment, so I made an appointment with Dr. Ethan. He's obviously been trained by her. He explains everything and is just as funny and friendly as Dr. Jess! I highly recommend this office. Every time I go I laugh so much and my foot problem gets better.
Fantastic experience: I saw Jessica Smith for custom orthotics for my flat feet. She was so professional, kind, and understanding. She took her time and adjusted the orthotics to fit perfectly in multiple styles of shoes. I experienced almost immediate knee and back pain relief. Simply an amazing experience!
Thank you so much Cathy! It was such a pleasure helping you. It is because of people like you that I love this profession so much. I am so happy you love your orthotics!
